Down a cf card

How can you down load a cf camera
card to a iPad.

If you have the camera then you might be able to transfer the photos directly from the camera via the iPad camera connection kit. Some card readers also work with the kit, but most require more power than is supplied to it - if you have a CF-only card reader then you probably have a better chance of it working than a multi-card reader, or better still a powered reader.
The card will need to have a DCIM directory off its root with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written the

  • How to down load camera card

how do you down load sd card to mack pro ?

Your cam probably came w/all the accessories necessary to transfer pictures and/or video onto your computer.  Read the manual that came w/your camera & what was included in the box.  If not available, go to the manufacturer's website and download the user manual.  Instructions for "downloading" from a cam card onto a computer will be there.
    OR
Provide us with details about your camera:
    Type
    Model
    Manufacturer
    Mac compatible?
Instead of using the cam's own accessories, you can purchase a card reader/writer which is very inexpensive (under $10 US) and much faster than the cams own reader.

  • Will an Apple Store trim down a SIM card?

I have an iPhone 3GS and intend to buy a new 4S from my local Apple Store.
Will they trim the SIM down to micro size or have I got to buy a pupose-built cutter from Amazon?

All new iPhones come with a new sim card already installed, always been that way, but if your planning on purchasing a factory unlocked iPhone and using it with another provider then your provider could give/sell you a new microsim or you could cut your existing sim to size.  I done the latter when traveling and buying a local sim.  There are templates you can download and print but I often use my own micosim as the template and cut it with a sharp sizors and a razor blade.

    Hi,
Is this happening every time you create a greeting card? Try selecting a different layout before creating the greeting card.

  • MacBook Pro Shuts Down on Graphics Card Switch

    Hello All,
Been having some fun (sarcasm) issues with my MacBook Pro (late 2007) 17" First Gen Unibody...
Recently, I had to have the Logic Board replaced by Apple because it popped - literally, audibly popped. I usually run the machine on "Better battery life..." but while working on a more processor intense project, I went to switch it to "Higher Performace."
So the computer asked to log out, i logged back in, and as soon as Finder started up, the computer went dark. I freaked out, didn't hear a "pop" this time, but it wasn't responding! Hit the power button and it rebooted just fine, but put itself back into "Better battery life..." and so i tried to switch it to full power again... signed out, signed in, and again as soon as Finder launched, blackness.
Looks like I'm going to have to take it back in - but I was curious if anyone else had an suggestions for self diagnostics or a way to check if my discrete graphics card is fried?
    Thanks guys, Enjoy the Day,
    -Joel

Reinstall Snow Leopard without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
If the above doesn't work then you've had a hardware failure and should take it in for repair. This could be a hard drive failure or some other hardware breakdown.

  • T60p, T60 wireless card shuts down by itself

Hello, Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have a T60p and T60 that have the exact same issue. When connected wireless after about 20 - 30 minutes the wireless card shuts off by itself. I loaded the updated drivers. I am not using Access Connections, Windows XP is managing the wireless profiles. I made sure that the computer is not shutting down the wireless card to save power. I am not using power manager but i did install the power manager driver. The card will shut down and the wireless light will go out but windows will still say that i am connected through wireless. I hit FN F5 and status of card is off but i dont have the ability to change it to on. It wont allow me to do anything. Also, when i close the lid it will not go in to stand by mode. I have to do a full restart to get the wireless back up and running. Any help please, this is really annoying. Both laptops are using the Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG card.
    Thanks!!

  • Why can't we replace the WLAN card on Satellite L670?

    Hi,
I'm using a Sattelite L670-143 PSK3EE which comes with a default Atheros AR9285 wireless network adapter.
I've tried replacing this one with the 5Ghz Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230, which has a 2pin connection too.
Unfortunatelly, the card is being properly recognised by Windows7 but for some reason it has no signal.
Running inSSIDer, there is no single surrounding device found, while even my own router is advertising at the 5GHz band, and the taskbar icon tells me the Intel is the Wifi network but it always states that Wifi is switched off.
Trying to turn on/off thhe wireless network by using the special FN+F8 key combination, I am unable to switch it on.
Please has anyone succesfully installed a third party network adapter in a Sattelite ? Is Toshiba blocking any but the default wireless adapters ? and/or how can we make them to operate next to only being properly detected by Windows but unable to switch the signal on ?
    Thank you for any help.

ok, i hope you know how yo get to your wifi card inside your laptop, i try to explain as best as possible to show which pin in your new wifi card has to be taped off, so it cannot get signal (Hardware Radio Off) from the bios.
Pin layout can be different for other wifi cards, so i can only show the pin the tape off for this specific card.
My laptop = Satellite L670-140 (in this model the wifi card is underneath the keyboard, follow steps 5,6,7 from this site to unscrew it.
Wifi Card used = Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 (2pin antenna like the default Atheros one)
    * Before replacing, make sure laptop is properly shut off, disconnected from mains, and battery removed.
    * Also make sure you have your proper driver for your card downloaded beforehand, since you most probably will need it before being able to connect to the internet.
    * Also, write down the new card's MAC address. (most probably you'll find it on a little sticker on the wifi card)
Here are 2 screenshots showing which pin to tape off for disallowing the BIOS from Hardware Blocking the radio signal.
Front & Back of the wifi card : http://i.imgur.com/96D5q.jpg
Screenshot show which pin to tape off : http://imgur.com/TZiQv
So, as you position your wifi as seen on the last screenshot, it's the 2nd pin from the right, on the largest pin row.
make sure only this specific pin is taped off, and no others, and make sure the tape strip does not come loose once you put the new wifi inside its slot.
    - After replacing, it's only a matter of starting up, letting the new card get properly recognized by windows.
    - I installed the wifi driver from Intel just in case, don't know if it's actually needed, most probably Windows will install all you need by default once the card is being detected.
    - After that, i had to power down the laptop, switch off the router for 1 minute, switch back on router & switch on laptop. (doing the correct software steps to set up an internet connection with the card may be needed.)
If your router is configured to only allow specific MAC addresses from connecting, then simply configure your router to allow this card's mac address.
BTW: If your laptop has a "software way" of switching ON/OFF the radio signal ( FN+F8 keycombination in my case), you can still switch ON/OFF the card as you which, as long as the card does not get "Hardware Blocked" which should be corrected if you properly taped of the pin shown.
I'm sorry if i'm not sounding that clear, i'll try helping as best as i know/can.

  • Dell Inspiron 14R WLAN Card Disabled

    Hello,
I have a Dell Inspiron 14R running Windows 7 64 bit. I have had my PC from this past November; about 7 months.
I was using my PC, and suddenly, I started to experience wireless problems. I was unable to get onto the internet. Other devices on my wireless network are able to log on to our network, although that is irrelevant because my radio wasn't picking up anything at all, when it always had from that same location. The connection worked fine using an ethernet cable. After the problem occurred, my Targus Bluetooth mouse also stopped working.  This is what I have tried:
Going into Network and Sharing Center, disabling my network adapter, and then enabling it again. This usually does the trick. After doing it over 5 times, it never worked.
Doing a simple system restore. I attempted restoring 3 different times to an update within the last week, each of which failed (probably another issue altogether).
Re-installing my WLAN CARD Driver, and then restarting. This didn't solve the problem.
Checking the Device Manager. It reported that the wireless card was running properly.
Using the DW WLAN CARD Utility. It says under the Link Status tab, after Connection Status, Radio Disabled. I tried right-clicking the icon in my Notification Area, and then clicking Enable Radio. It then shows an alert saying "The WLAN card is still disabled. Use the wireless switch or hotkey to enable it." Pressing Fn + F2, which is also supposed to enable the radio, did nothing, with no action or sign whatsoever from Windows. I also tried running tests under the Diagnostics tab. All hardware tests passed, with the Connection test giving me this alert again: "The WLAN card is still disabled. Use the wireless switch or hotkey to enable it," and then failing. The same thing happened when running the CCX Client diagnostics.
What should I do? The problem is obvious that my card is disabled, as all signs point to that. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could fix it? I've tried everything I know, not to mention countless Google searches.
    Thanks!

I am experiencing the same issue with my Inspiron N4010. The network card has disappeared from the system devices. After a reboot, the network connected for about 15 seconds and then went away. I had the system devices displayed at the same time and the network card also disappeared when the network went down. The card worked fine until today. What is the cheapest route to fix this?
Also note the sound has come and gone over the past year. It is not working at the moment. It would be nice to fix both, but will the cost be greater than buying a new laptop or tablet?
I can't say I will ever buy a Dell product again. These laptops seem to only last a year or two. Even my more expensive work laptop which is less than a year old has had its motherboard and hard drive replaced.

  • NB305 - FN key no longer working with Flash Cards

I acquired my NB305 last week, and the FN key was working such that when you held it down the Flash Card appeared at the top of my screen.   However, that association has since ceased.   The FN does work for other purposes, and I turned on the feature with the Flash Cards to allow the mouse cursor to activate them.   so both the key itself and the Flash Cards are working, but not together.
I have searched high and low and I can find no way to reassociate the key and the Flash Cards.   This forum is my last hope for solving this riddle.  I did search the board, but I could find no reference to this problem.
Any assistance you may be able to provide is very much appreciated,
    -Neil

start menu> all programs> toshiba> utitilies>settings for flash cards. when the window comes up check the box for allow the mouse to bring up the cards. also make sure the box next to keep the cards on top of other windows so they alway show up where you can see them if you have other programs open. when you have problems bringing them up with the FN key try the same thing as before but instead of settings for flash cards select reset flash cards

  • Dual Displays, and Dual Vid Card Help Please :-( 30'' Cinemas

Hello all, I just recieved my 30'' Cinema Displays from the Fedex man this morning and am having a bit of trouble getting everything up and running.
    My System is:
    Windows XP Home
    AMD Fx-57
2GB Corsair XMS DDR 400 Ramm
    Asus Asi-8 Premium Board
Dual Evga 7800 GTX 256mb PCIe x16 Cards
Currently at my disposal to make this work I have:
    2x 30'' Cinema Displays
    2x Evga Nvidia 7800 GTX 256mb PCIe x16 Cards
I say this because no matter what I do I cannot get both moniters to function properly.
At first I had had both cards in my desktop running SLI, and I attempted to plug in the monitors, neither would turn on when I booted up the pc, I tried every array I could possibly think of to even get some activity out of both, or even a SOLO monitor with the cards on SLI Mode.
Eventually I just grabbed one of the cards out, so that I was running on a single 7800 GTX card.
WHAM both monitors booted up normally heres the problem Im now faced with, in this mode I can set one monitors resolution (whichever monitor I have set as primary) to the normal maximum allowed by the 30'' Cinema.
The problem comes when faceing the other monitor which is stuck at 1280 x800, giving a very wierd look and panning feel.
Is there any way at all to make theese work?
I dont care If i have to go down to 1 card, or even go buy a new card
I just want both monitors to be running at high res.
    Thanks a bundle,
    Nick

You have to look at the specs for your video cards, but it looks like your video card only supports one dual-link DVI and the other connection is single-link DVI. You need a card with dual dual-link DVI outputs. I believe the high end ATI X1800 and X1900 video cards support this.
I'm not familiar with SLI to help there.

  • "No SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate" after updating to iOS 5. Living in Canada with Rogers service provider.

    Any solutions yet?
"No SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate" after updating to iOS 5.
Living in Canada with Rogers service provider.

Its an IMEI issue.  In my case, about a year ago, after originally purchasing my iP4 from AT&T store, I had a prox. sensor issue.  Went to the Apple Store, they replaced the phone.  Here is where it all stems from.  The IMEI of the new phone was never updated in AT&T/Carriers systems.  For iOS updates prior to iOS5, this was not an issue.  My phone did its iOS updates along the way with no probs.  However, when I updated to iOS5, the firmware did not match the IMEI with what AT&T/carrier had.  When I went to Apple Store for the issue about 3 days ago and was given a new phone....again....the new phones IMEI was never updated with AT&T/carrier.  I then again attempted the upgrade to iOS5 with the new phone and iOS5 bricked that one also.  Today, at the store, we tried 3 replacements with same outcome.
So, after 4 hours and 3 replacement phones with Apple Store Tech (BTW totally gobsmacked), we solved the issue.  Luckily, due to iPhone 4S launch, there was an AT&T guy there with a computer tied to the AT&T network to work along with us.  The issue is......once the IMEI's on carrier account and phone do not match, iOS5 shuts down the sim card reader within phone.....forever. How to reverse this?......this is a question Apple needs to come up with, because with my case, they have 5 "bricked" phones.
What solved the issue was to get a new phone with iOS4.3.5, new SIM from carrier/AT&T, have carrier/AT&T (in their system) change/match the IMEI to the new phone and activate new SIM.  Then, do iOS5 upgrade.
Simple and makes total sense..........however........there is an internal firmware (Apple Security??) issue that bricks the phone once IMEI's dont match.
I am now on iOS5.....no problems......so far.  Good luck to all others.

  • Bootcamp, XP, ATI card & Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl

I recently purchased S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl to play on XP on my Mac Pro
While I've read LOTS of posts on other sites about how buggy this game is, my concern (and my reason for posting here) is that the game seems to push my ATI card to the limit. The fan is on full blast, and the temp soars into the high 90s (I have ATItool monitoring the GPU temp in XP).
Now, I've played hours of Doom 3 and never had this problem. My question isn't about the game itself so much (it seems to have enough issues of its own) - but really - are there others who are having cooling issues with this ATI card? Is the Mac Pro case design not right for it? Is there some other option to help keep the temp down on this card? What should I do? I want to play this fantastic game, but I don't want to melt my ATI card!!
Thanks in advance for any thoughts...

    Hey there,
I too just recently got S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and I run it on my Mac Pro via Boot Camp and an ATI X1900.
Honestly, I haven't got into it very far (busy playing Bioshock....), and I don't have ATITool or similar way of checking GPU temps (but I think I will just to make sure), but I don't ever recall my ATI card going full blast with the fan cooler during gameplay. But it dose rev up real loud when I first boot my Mac Pro. I definitely hear it then; like a shop vac or something.
I believe I push my card pretty hard. It's overclocked (from Apple's spec's anyway...) via firmware and I run Bioshock at 1900x1200 with all settings at max for hours at a time and I never hear my card sound like it does when it first boots.
However, once I saw my Northbridge temps rise up to 170F in OSX. Scared the bejesus out of me. Since then, I use software to jack up the speed of the front fans and now my NB temps don't ever get much over 120F. I'm sure this helps the ATI card also.
That, and I regularly use canned air to keep dust from building up on the card. The X1900 seems like a sticky magnet for dust....
    Hope that helps.
