Down load webi report in excel with images

Hello Everybody,
I am facing issue in downloading webi report in excel with images.
I am not getting any image in the wei report which are there in ANY part of it . like header, body and footer, but the download for pdf is working fine.
I am using BO XI R2 webi and i need download only to excel with images as per the user requirements.
Please let us know the work around if any.

Hi,
I too had similar issue with Excel report.
Had a discussion with BO tech support, they said it is an issue with Business Objects and it can be fixed in future versions.

Exporting a web report to Excel

Hi,
When I export a web report to Excel, it works fine. when I resave the same file as .xls file, the excel file size is reduced drastically (less than 1/10).
Why is this happening? Any way to reduce the file size in the first stage, that is down loading to Excel from web.

I don't understand what do you mean here. Do you mean we could not reduce size in the first time? We have exactly the same problem and the file size is about 20-40 MB. This size is too big to download by end user. It's excel file with .xls extension. When I open it by Excel and then try to Save As, it try to save as Web Page with *.htm extension. If I resave as a Excel Workbook format, the size is reduced to 3-4 MB. My question is the same as the other folk, how do I save it as Excel format with proper size the first time?

Problem in Exporting Webi Report to Excel

Hi,
I have developed a WEBI report in BOBJ 4.1 SP1 on top of IDT Universe and applied Drill Down analysis.
While exporting the WEBI Report to Excel, I'm getting Images in the place of columns where there is no data.
However, images are not getting in the columns where we have data.
Please suggest as this will help me a lot.

1) Check if there is any conditional formatting applied.
2) Check in the fomat cell --> Appearance .

Problem in down loading Grid out to Excel

Hi all ,
when i down load grid output into excel using list->export->localfile ->spread sheet,
Some columns headings are down loaded with medium texts and some with short texts (seltext_s) .The same is displayed in default output(with out dragging) . I found that fields with short texts are because of field data length is less than 10 char .customer is asking to medium or long texts in excel when down loaded..
1)Hence i expanded fileds and then down loaded , same short texts are down loaded to XL.
2)I incresed output length for those fields so as to take medium or long texts in default output of report(no need of dragging ) and then down loaded to excel .Still it is taking short texts only in XL .
Will there be any default settings to consider text to considered while down loading or do ineed to set explicitley .Please advise me ..

I constructed fieldcat as follows
ls_fieldcat-fieldname    = c_cname.
ls_fieldcat-seltext_l    = text-004.
ls_fieldcat-seltext_s    = text-004.
ls_fieldcat-seltext_m    = text-004.
ls_fieldcat-reptext_ddic = text-004.
MODIFY p_fieldcat FROM ls_fieldcat TRANSPORTING seltext_l seltext_m
seltext_s reptext_ddic WHERE fieldname = ls_fieldcat-fieldname.

Hi A. Caglar Ozkor,
Basically the parmeter layout-colwidth optimization is set to 'X'. I tried out to increase outputlength after setting it to '   ' , then down loaded to excel .In that case also it picked only short texts , Hence I thought there would be some settings to decide what text to be picked while down loading in to excel .

Downloading web reports to excel

When down loading a BW web report to excel using the right click enhanced menu - download to MS excel we sometimes get asked to log onto the BW server again, this doesn't happen on all web reports only some. Why is this, is that a setting we can change so we can turn this off??

Cells merge issue when extracting webi report in excel format

Hi Experts,
We have some WEBI reports in BO XI 3.1.
The reports have header where we are showing report name and some values which user selects in prompt.
Now the issue is that when we save our webi report in excel format, many cells get merge.
I have read many post on scn which suggest some solutions like changing the autofit width option to no and aligning the header width with colums.
Tried both the option but no success.
Is there any other way to achieve this.

Hi,
We managed to find the workaround for this merge cell issue.
Sharing it might be helpful for someone.
- Align the report name and other block in report in such a way that the ends are in line with the end point of any column. The only limitation is that when applying pivot to the excel output we neet to click on any of the ccolumn so that excel identify the data set.
- Second workaround is to break the webi document in two parts report1 will contain the report name and the block to show the prompt values selected by the user where as report2 will contain the table withactual data. The only limitation with this workaround is that when exporting the repot output to excel we will get two tabs in the excel sheet one containing the prompt values and secont tab containing the actual data.

Broad casting Webi report in excel format to different users email ids

Hello,
Seriously looking for the help, please help with the solution for below scenario.
We have a requirement to schedule broadcasting of Webi reports to users email in excel format from infoview. But our concern is how the system takes care of authorizations of users when we broadcast the report to their mail id as excel file.
For example we have one webi report for Finance and there are thousands of users for each department, cost centre etcu2026so how to broadcast the same webi report in excel to different users with only data they have authorized to see. We have committed to client that we can do this with out much massive overhead, please advise what is the easiest way to achieve this. I read something like this can be done using authorization profiles in CMS but creating those many profiles and mapping them to relevant authorizations is not possible as there are thousands of users with different authorization levels. And Client is expecting this broadcasting need to be done automatically with out every time manual intervention.

Please use the Dynmanic Recipients functionality of the Publication.
For this we need to do follow steps.
1) Create the WebI Report that needs to be published(Broadcasted)
2) create Deski/webi report which contains the user details and email id's for publishing main report.
3) Map the properties of souce report with Dynamic Recipient report.
Please refer the user guide for more inforamtion.This helps you in avoiding manual creation of profiles in CMC.

I am using Oraclereports 10g version, i know desformat=spreadsheet will create single worksheet with out pagination, but my requirment is like the output should be generated in .xls file, and each worksheet will have both data and graphs.
rdf paperlayout format will not workout for generating multiple worksheets.
Is it possible to create multiple worksheets by using .jsp weblayout(web source) in oracle reports10g. If possible please provide me some examples

Exporting Web Report to Excel - SAPBW_DOWNLOAD

When exporting a web report to excel it uses the embedded SAPBW_DOWNLOAD template. Is it possible to use and assign a seperate template like the one I'm currently using for Workbooks.

Unable to save webi report in excel format

Hi All,
I have a question. I recently upgrsded my internet explorer from IE 7 to IE 8.
Previously, i was able to save webi reports in excel format without any issues.Even after upgrading to IE version8, i was able to save webi reoprts to excel without any issues for 2 weeks.
Suddenly I am unable to save Webi reports in excel format now.When I select the Save to my computer as Excel option the saving dialog box appears and hangs forever.
Can someone please advise me on this??

Trying to replicate WEBI Excel Download issue.
Operating system : Windows 7
Internet Explorer : IE8 Version 8.0.7600.16385CO.
Jre Version : 1.6_ greater than 1.8 version.

Company Logo went off while exporting WebI Report to Excel in BO4.1

When I am trying to export the WebI Report to Excel, I am not able to see Company logo, had this feature been added in BO 4.1 or not yet?

Drill down in webi report

Hi,
Is there any way to display the drill down in webi report. For example:
YearQuarterMonth--Week.......
if the drill the Year option I can able to see all Quarter level measures and if I drill down further I can get into Month level measures and Week level and so on .
But my question is When I drill the Year to Quarter...I want it to display both Year and Quarter and If I drill down further
I want all the measures related to Year ,Quarter, Month and so on
Basically want I need is a tree level hierarchy......Could any one plz help me what all changes I need to make in order to get a detailed report.

Try to create a Class e.g Time in universe and objects to that class as year, quarter,month as
Year Object -> data type -> D/N
select To_date('sysdate','YYYY) as year from dual
Month object-> data type -> D/N
select to_date)'sysdate','MM') as month from dual;
Quarter -> data type -> D/N
case when @select(Time/Month) in (1,2,3) then q1
         when @select(Time/Month) in (4,5,6) then q2
          when @select(Time/Month) in (7,8,9) then q4
           when @select(Time/Month) in (10,11,12) then q4
endcase
Then create a hierarch in tools -> hiearchy ->custom hierarchy and add the above class there then in any report (Deski/WebI)
you will get the above hierarchy and use it according to your requirement.

Hi Rajat,
Starting from BOXI R3.0 version, Rich client is used for accessing WebI reports other than Infoview. i.e. Similar to Desk top intelligence, it can be installed in any local machine and using it we can access WebI reports.
If you don't have Rich client then install it in your pc, then start creating WebI reports from excel using Rich client.
Navigation: Open rich client -> select local source(browse to your doucment i.e excel sheet) -> select required tab in excel(for the report) -> ok

Exporting Crystal report into Excel with code

I have written the following code to export crysal reports to excel. My problem is, when it exports number it adds the thousand seperator (,), but if I export the report from Crystal designer, it works fine. So I believe I am missing something in my code. Could some one help me with this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Down load web site to desk top

when i try to down load a web page to my desk top i get text but no pictures
only a blue box with a question mark

With Safari 1.3, which is what you have with OS X 10.s.9, the best you can do is to choose Print > Save as PDF. If you want to save a complete, live web page, then try Firefox which will save the basic page in html and place all the images in a folder. This file will be able to be opened with any browser.
