Downgrade 2012 R2 License to 2012 SP1
I know very little about System Center, and I'm not sure where to go next.
I have purchased (but not yet installed) 4 System Center 2012 R2 DataCenter licenses.
Apparently, 2012 R2 does not work correctly with Server 2003 R2.
The technicians installing our software told me that to fix this, I need to "downgrade" the 2012 R2 to 2012 SP1.
Is this something I can do using our 2012 R2 keys?
If so, how do I go about doing this?
Thanks
First,
Microsoft is planning to bring Windows Server 2003 support back to DPM 2012 R2 in the next UR
Windows Server 2003 Support Coming back to DPM 2012 R2
Second,
You can use key from 2012 R2 to SP1.
Go to
https://www.microsoft.com/Licensing/servicecenter/default.aspx and see key.
We have same key for 2012-2012 SP1-2012 R2.
Have a nice day !!!

Need to make collection Query statement by sccm 2012 sp1 for Count of Licenses by License Status
I want to make collection Query statement by sccm 2012 sp1 for all windows activated and all non-activated windows.
Ahmed SherifHave a look at the Software Licensing Product attribute classes when creating a Query - remember to choose
System Ressource when creating the Query. You would have to enable this class to be collected during Hardware Inventory. Go to
Client Settings -> Hardware Inventory ->
Set Classes -> Select Software Licensing Product.
This Class is part of the Asset Intelligence classes so you could enable it from there as well.
Another way to accomplish is to use Compliance Settings to get this information.
Create a Configuration item that query the Win32_WindowsProductActivation WMI Class, if you are using XP and the
SoftwareLicensingProduct class for later os´s
Add this Configuration Item to a Baseline ad deploy it to your Collections as needed.
When the Baseline has been evaluated you can use this information to create query
Machines reported as compliant is actived and machines reported as Non-Compliant is not activated.

Hi All,
When installing manually protection agent DPM 2012 SP1 on new target computer, I get "Microsoft Software License terms" to accept...
Is there a way to automatically approve the license ? I try various commands like :

/quiet /eula:yes

SCCM 2012 SP1 SQL License Question!!
I have SCCM 2012 SP1 running on one server with the DB running on another server within SQL 2012 SP1. This was running grand for 5+ months green across the board.
Recently I lost SCCM access. I have discovered this is due to the trial of SQL having expired! I have performed quite a bit of research and see that SQL use is granted with the purchase of SCCM 2012 license. i.e. no SQL license is need.
My questions:
Why has my trial expired if SQL is supposedly free with SCCM 2012 license?
Do I need to upgrade to full version and use SCCM license to activate SQL?
Possible cause:
I have two instances running on my SQL server: SCCM DB and WSUS DB, is the expirey because of the WSUS DB and will I need to either remove this WSUS DB and, or, use a SQL 2012 license up?
Quick responses appreciated Thanks!
MichaelSpauldingHi,
There is no license key provided for SQL server with the SQL User Rights that is included in the System Center license. So you need to get the SQL server keys/media from volume licensing site. There is no relation between the WSUS DB and the fact that the
SQL trial version has expired.
If you downloaded the SQL Standard media from Volume licensing here is a guide for upgrading SQL server

I must know :

2. How limit of SCEP (Endpoint Protection) client that can managed by SCCM 2012 SP1 Standard or Datacenter?
Regards, Bar WaelahThere is no limitations or feature changes between standard and datacenter.
You can read more about the new licensing model for System Center 2012 here:

Deploying Office 365 Pro Plus using System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1
Hello,
I am trying to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus to my client machines (more than 100) via. System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1. It will use one administrator account for installation. But as per the licensing, we can install Office for up to 5 PCs/Macs
and 5 more Windows tablets/iPads with one Office 365 Pro Plus licenses. If this is the case, then I cannot install Office 365 Pro Plus with one admin account to my 100+ machines, as it will violate the licenses of O365 Pro Plus.
So, what is the alternative approach?
Thanks
RajIf this is the case, then I cannot install Office 365 Pro Plus with one admin account to my 100+ machines, as it will violate the licenses of O365 Pro Plus.
Hi,
this is incorrect.
There is no licensing restriction/control for the *installation* account at all, the licensing is related to who is *using* Office365ProPlus *after* installation is performed. This control, is implemented by the Microsoft Account, or OrgID, used to sign-in/activate
to Office365 when *using* Office365ProPlus.

Orchestrator 2012 R2 on SQL 2012 SP1 Availability Group
Hi all,
I've recently setup a new install of SCOrch 2012 R2 on a SQL 2012 SP1 Availability Group. Everything went smooth and appears to be functioning correctly up until a failover occurs (manual or automatic). Once there is a failover between database
nodes, the Orchestrator servers (Mgmt and Runbook) lose connectivity to the database and will not reconnect until the services are restarted and then they work again.
Has anyone setup Orchestrator on an Availability Group and are you seeing similar issues from a failover?
Thanks!
JonHi Jon,
has each member of the availability group the same master key to read encrypted data like passwords and the license code?

Vlm 3.0 LabVIEW 2012 SP1 disabled in Installer
Hello folks,
i have a Problem with die build Installer with my new updatet vlm 3.0.
I already get the the new license file for vlm 3.0 and installed it, then i made the installer for
LabVIEW 2012 SP1 like i have done it with the previous versions of LabVIEW 2009 2010 2011
In the produkt list of the installer LabVIEW and the DriverDVD is disabled by default (see Screenshot).
Solved!
Go to Solution.Today i was looking on the server and i have seen that the licenses are LabVIEW 2012 licenses.
I want to install LabVIEW 2012 SP1.
So that's normal, i think i have to wait until i get the new license file for the new version.
Thanks BRennhofer for this idea.
I will report here. -
Cannot activate Labview after update to 2012 SP1
Hello
I just updated from Labview 2012 Spring edition to Labview 2012 SP1 as suggested by the NI Uodate Service, and when it came to activate the product, the activation wizard tells me that the serial number does not match the software. I don't have any other serial. It is an academic license.
Thank you in advnace for your help

SSP = Standar Service Program http://www.ni.com/services/software_benefits.htm
Here is NI's webpage about LabVIEW 2012SP1 http://www.ni.com/labview/release-details/
LabVIEW 2012 Service Pack 1 is an exclusive update to LabVIEW 2012 for NI Standard Service Program (SSP) customers. There are no new product features introduced in service pack releases; instead, these releases provide bug fixes and improved stability for LabVIEW 2012.
In my opinion, bug fixes for a specific release such as LabVIEW 2012 should be FREE; NI has chosen to be yet another greedy company.
I have to agree. Your words were more opinionated than mine, but yes, I agree with you.

SCCM 2012 SP1 and SCEP for Mac
Hello all,
We have SCCM 2012 SP1 with SECP installed and working well for Windows clients.
A request came to me that we have the roughly 10ct Mac computers protected by EndPoint and reporting through SCCM.
Is this possible with what I have now?
Please let me know if you have any clues for me.
Many thanks!Hi,
There is no way to push the SCCM MAC Client to a MAC Computer, you have to install it manually, threre are scripts available on blogs that can assits but still you have to run those scripts manually as well.
The System Center Endpoint Protection client for MAC is indeed a separate download on the volume licensing site, it is not managed through SCCM it is a standalone antivirus software which download it's defenition files directly from the internet. So there
is now way to manage it centrally.
I hope that answered your questions.

Jörgen

Hi All, looking for some assistance with the following issue.
We are attempting to upgrade our Operations Manager 2012 SP1 environment to Operations Manager 2012 R2.
We have completed all the pre-upgrade tasks detailed here
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn249704.aspx
We are then following the guidance detailed here regarding upgrading distributed management groups
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn249721.aspx. The upgrade fails on the first management server with the following screen being displayed.

SCCM 2012 SP1 - Software Center appears twice in Start Menu
Hi guys,
i just finished implementing a fresh SCCM 2012 SP1 Installation for a customer. The whole OSD works like a charm (except some issues with the latest Windows updates breaking the whole OSD, will open a separate thread for this soon), but after the deployment
the Software Center is appearing twice in the Start Menu (We're using Win7 Enterprise SP1 x86 English with 5 integrated language packs). I first thought this has something to do with the integrated language packs, but both Start Menu entries
are always in the same language.
The strange Thing is, that one entry for the SCCM Software Center is called "Software Center" and the other one "SoftwareCenter" (without a space). We configured 2 Client policies, one with EP-enabled and one without EP. We
deployed the Client Settings to different collections so i don't think that this is causing the Problem?Do you guys have any idea why this is Happening?
Has anyone ever seen this? See a screenshot below:
Thank you.
Cheers
StefanThanks for your Response Thomas.
I don't think it is related to the upgrade to SP1.I think it might be a General issue in SP1. I started with a fresh SCCM 2012 SP1 Installation and i also have 2 Software Center entries in my start menu. If i check the shortcut i can see that one shortcut
was created when i captured my base Image, the other one was created during the Install OS Task Sequence. -
SCCM 2012 SP1 errors when downloading updates
Currently using SCCM 2012 SP1 with CU2 and I am having some update download issue with Automatic Deployment Rules.
The Environment is:
Server 2008 R2
SCCM 2012 SP1 CU2 (Upgraded from SCCM 2012 CU2)
I created an Automatic Deployment Rule for Adobe Flash. Since I was having the same issue with Adobe Reader, when I published via SCUP to WSUS I chose not to sign the updates.
After publishing to WSUS I then sync SCCM, I see the updates and then in the ADR I had it download the updates and I see this error:
Authentication of file C:\Windows\TEMP\CABDEC5.tmp failed, error 0x800b0004 Software Updates Patch Downloader 8/15/2013 6:49:43 PM 3712 (0x0E80)
ERROR: DownloadContentFiles() failed with hr=0x80073633 Software Updates Patch Downloader 8/15/2013 6:49:43 PM 6876 (0x1ADC)
Failed to download the update from internet. Error = 13875 SMS_RULE_ENGINE 8/15/2013 6:49:43 PM 6876 (0x1ADC)
Failed to download ContentID 16845337 for UpdateID 16841530. Error code = 13875 SMS_RULE_ENGINE 8/15/2013 6:49:43 PM 6876 (0x1ADC)
Now the funny thing is if I go to the update itself within update group that Flash is a member I can right click it and choose download and the error doesn't occur.
I observed that the UNC path for ADR Adobe flash, when the rule is ran, is populated with folders that have a name something like 44738297895427890.1 or 423154325378u867234789.1. I have come to realize that those are failed downloads. So for the
heck of it I then right clicked the update itself and chose download and it downloaded without issue. Now I'm guessing that when I chose to download directly from the update maybe the system is getting the update from adobe and not from wherever the rule was
trying to get it from. I then see the .1 removed from the directory name and there are updates within them.
Just for clarity here are the steps I go through from SCUP to Syncing...
Log in to WSUS server
Run SCUP as administrator
Get notified there are updates from Adobe and let SCUP download updates
Find the updates the specify the following publishing options
Full Content
Sign all software updates with a new publishing certificate .... (Is this necessary by the way?)
Then click Next
After that's done I then go to SCCM Manager Console and go to Software Updates and right click to Synchronize them.
After that's done then I run the ADR for Adobe Flash and when it goes to download the updates that's when the error occurs.
What am I missing?
Also, while I wait for help I just recently added the WSUS SCUP certificate to the SCCM server to see if by chance that fixes stuff. If it does then I'll post the results of adding the certificate to the SCCM server.
One other thing, is there a way to delete updates? When I was having this issue in the past, I went in to SCUP I marked the updates as expired and then deleted the updates. Went to SCCM and synchronized the updates and they went from not expired to expired
then I waited, maybe 30 days or so before I could add the updates back in.
Thanks for the help!Yes, I know this is an old post, but I’m trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?
Have you seen the note at the bottom of this page about this error?
