Downgrade EP SP09 Patch 10

Hi all,
To resolve some errors in broadcasting feature of our portal here, as per SAP's suggestion I tried applying patch 10 on our current SP09 version of EP 7.0. But after the patch application, all the app integration based components are throwing runtime errors.
I am not able to access any of the integration iviews or BI content on my portal.
Is there a way to get my EP component back to SP09 from SP09 Patch 10 levels.
In other words, can I undeploy EPP-SERV patch 10 component from my system and revert it back to SP09 levels.

HI
you have two options
option 1. download the SC EPP-SERV SP09 from SMP then redeploy SC EPP-SERV SP09 version in FORCE mode via sdm. i,e redploy the original SC in force mode.
option 2. undeploy the SC EPP-SERV SP09 patch 10 .
I recommend first option.

    Kannan,
    the error in your logs like "NoClassDefFoundError" etc. point us towards issues with jar files. either they are missing or not the correct ones.
    A general practice in such situation is to
    stop all servers except CMS,IFRS,OFRS > repair the base installation
    OR
    If you have a working environment with the exact same patch, copy the 'lib' folder from "/bobje/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/java/" to the non-working server.
    PS: please attach the logs to the thread instead of pasting the content.

  • Need to either downgrade X or downgrade video drivers, patching help

    Hi,
    I'm using a matrox g450 which worked in the older version of X server..1.4. Is there a way to downgrade back to this version of X or the drivers.
    I see this on an ubuntu bug list https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/292214
    but I can't seem to figure out how to apply the patches there. help, please!

    If you're looking for xorg-server 1.4 you'll need much older packages, since the switch occurred a while back. You might try just downgrading xorg-server, but I would be surprised if you'll have to do the same for most of the packages in xorg to get it to work.

  • Downgrade after installing patch 4547809

    Hi all,
    In order to avoid the problem that I wrote about earlier, I want to go back to version 9.2.0.4.0, after installing the above patch which took the installation to 9.2.0.8.0.
    Yes, I omitted the step in which the installation is being backed up.
    Yes, I have installation sources for the old version.
    If I get rid of the current Oracle installation completely, and install the older version from scratch, then
    - what data should I back up?
    - is there anything that I have to take care of?
    Cheers, thanks.
    Benjamin.

    Please be careful with the wording in your error messages. Are you getting "you are not authorized to use this functionality" from FR Studio? Typically if you apply updates to the server side you need to have the same updates applied on the client side too - since you just patched FR from the server side, I bet this is the issue.
    Try to run the FR studio from the server and see if the message appears.

  • Best Practice for Downgrading J2EE/Portal Patch Version

    Hello all,
    We're trying to determine the best path to follow and would appreciate any advice.  We have an existing Portal implementation with ESS/MSS which has been live for almost a year.  It is on NW2004s (i.e., 7.0) and in production it is on ERP stack 8 (ESS stack 8, J2EE stack 11), which matches up with the backend ECC system for the most part.  The Portal is under NWDI control, as we have customized the ESS and MSS web dynpros a little bit.  So far so good.
    However, we were starting a round of implementing SP stacks this summer, and after getting started with the DEV portal, getting it up to ESS stack 12, J2EE stack 14, the organization decided, due to workload and time constraints, to defer the SP stack application for six months.  So, the new sp stack is only in the DEV portal, it's not in QA or PRD, and it's not on the DEV ECC system.  We have learned, and experienced for ourselves, that there are certain functions which do not work, or do not work well, in MSS when the MSS Portal components are at a higher sp level than the ECC HR components, and we don't really want to have the DEV Portal out of sync with its backend, as well as QA and PRD, for six months.  This is especially true as when we revisit the sp's in six months, it will no doubt be to a higher stack level, and this out-of-sync condition will just complicate things then.
    So, we'd like to roll the DEV portal back to its prior sp level.  The question is, how?  There doesn't appear to be a way to do it with JSPM.  Should we use SDM with the "update deployed SDAs/SCAs that have any version" option to overwrite the newer components with the older one?  Or should we use SDM to undeploy what's on there now and just redeploy the older components with JSPM?  With either of these options, what complications will we encounter with NWDI?  Or should we try to restore the DEV portal from backup?
    And if we do restore from backup... well, just what's involved in that?  I'm fully conversant with restoring ABAP systems (we are on SQL Server 2005 by the way), even migrating ABAP systems to new servers, changing SIDs, refreshing QA systems from PRD, all of that.  But I haven't worked as long with the J2EE engine, and I'm aware that much of the 'system' is not actually in the database, but in the filesystem.  So, which folders would I need to restore along with the database?  What considerations with NWDI do I need to be cognizant of?  I haven't found any guides or recommendations on this approach so far, so I'm hoping for some direction here.
    Best regards, and thanks in advance,
    Matt

    Hello Matt,
    First let me correct you on the statement that most part of the J2EE is on the file system. That is no true. Most part of J2EE Engine is kept in the DB and on the file system. Everything under /j2ee/cluster/dispatcher and /j2ee/cluster/serverX is in the database and if you delete these folders they will be fully restored on startup of the server.
    You can not undeploy the core components of the J2EE Engine and then redeploy them. If you do that significant part of the information generated during the installation will be lost and the J2EE Engine will be almost irreversibly broken.
    Forced redeployment of the older version works for single applications, but on a grand scale I donu2019t think it will work. There are too many dependencies that will be broken and the deployments of many components will fail.
    That leaves us with two options.
    1. Restore from backup. Please refer to the following link for information:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/4b/d8f23ea4b42e5ae10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    2. System copy from some of the other systems.
    There are different kinds of system copy. Please start from the following link for basic information about system copy:

  • Easy DMS 6.00 SP09 - can not logon

    Hi Gurus,
    I am testing Easy DMS SP09 (and SP09 Patch 1), but everytime I want to logon the logon screen disapeers for a few seconds and then appears again and wants me to logon again.
    When I press the cancle button I get a msg box with "unkown error".
    I can use SP08 and all former versions without this problem so i guess something changed in SP09.
    Does anyone of you has the same problem?

    Hi,
    did you uninstall SP08 before you install SP09 patch 1?
    If not, please uninstall EasyDMS once again and then install SP09 patch 1 again.
    Please try to reset the RFC Cache as well and test if this is usefull. You will find the Reset button in the settings menu of EasyDMS.

  • Changes between MII 12.0.2 and 12.0.9 (patch 7)

    Hi,
    We've upgraded one of our non-production MII environments from MII 12.0.2 (build 88) to 12.0.9 (build 23), and some of our dashboard apps are not working correctly.
    One issue that I've tracked down sounds similar to this post: [Re: java.io.EOFException]
    But is different.  We have a BLS that has a local property (called Hold_qty) that acts as an accumulator of a QUANTITY value that is returned in multiple rows from the associated SQL query.
    Under 12.0.2, Hold_qty is defined with data type String.  There is a repeater, with an assignment that assigns Local.Hold_qty the value of Local.Hold_qty + Order_table.Output(/Row/QUANTITY).   This worked fine on 12.0.2, as the String would be converted to integer automatically (with value 0), then would accumulate the QUANTITY values.
    Now in 12.0.9 it is no longer working and the Hold_qty value is NA after the repeater is done.  It seems that MII is no longer converting the string type to integer before attempting the addition, thus the addition is attempted with Hold_qty having string NULL value, instead of integer Zero value.  Because it is null, then MII calculates the result to NA.  The MII manual does state that "Calculations that include null values return a value of NA".
    My question, is why did the precedence of type conversion vs. property evaluation change between the versions?  Is this change documented somewhere?  I didn't have very good luck finding a list of changes in all of the versions between 12.0.2 and 12.0.9.  Can someone point out where I can find such a list?  I searched SAP notes and it seems that only some of the SPs between 2 and 9 have Notes but not all of them.
    I changed the data type of Local.Hold_qty to Integer in the BLS and now it works correctly on 12.0.9, but I'm still curious as to why the change, as using Strings instead of integers and allowing the type conversion was a recommended approach in at least one post in the past: [Integer with Value of NA??]
    Thank you and best regards!

    Hi Jeremy,
    Thank you very much for providing the list of notes - that is VERY helpful.  I reviewed the list and did see a couple that seem to be related to the issue that we are seeing.
    Specifically:
    Note 1168706 which is included in SP04.  But this fix seems to imply that what we were doing in SP02 should still work.
    Note 1435052 which is SP09 patch 4, says:
    "3- In a MII Transaction, if you have an XML Document with a field of type integer, and when you assign it to "nullnumber", it doesn't show up in the Data as "NA". But it displays a number eg. "-2147483648".
    This isn't exactly what we are seeing, but seems very closely related, so perhaps the fix for this issue is what is causing our problem?  Perhaps this fix introduced a new bug?
    What is the proper means of reporting a potential bug?  Should I wait for confirmation in this forum?
    Thank you again so much for your help.  As a final suggestion, since your list of MII releases and the associated SAP Note numbers is so useful, would it be possible for you to create a sticky thread that lists all releases (with associated SAP note numbers)?  Or maybe this is overkill due to the way they are listed in the download section of Service Marketplace?  If so, please disregard.
    Best regards,
    Steve Christensen

  • The "Fix_Admin709.exe" patch and the Distiller - which version?

    Hey all,
    I have an Admin Installation Point patched to 7.0.9 and just recently read about the possible problem with the Distiller being downgraded in the patch process.
    I made a test install from my AIP and the Distiller said version 7.0.7.
    Then I uninstalled Acrobat completely, patched the AIP with the Fix_Admin709.exe and reinstalled.
    Now, my Distiller still says it is 7.0.7. The kb article mentions the possible downgrade to version 7.0.5, but it doesn't say from which version.
    So do I have now the latest version on my AIP?

  • SP 09 patch level upgradation

    Hello All,
    We are planning for SP09 patch level upgradation.
    I have below doubts.
    1. What will happen to our modificaiton to the standard jsp page.
    2. What will happen to our modification in the action classess and java classes.
    Please help us by providing what all pre cautions we need to take before we do this patch level  upgrade .
    Thanks and Regards
    Shanto Aloor

    Hi,
    After applying the patch , you will get integration conflicts in your DTR view in NWDS.
    If there are any custom developments in the files where the patch is applied, those files will be listed in
    the conflicting files. Here you need to resolve conflicts accepting the changes from batch but also keeping the custom code intact.
    This activity needs to be done very carefully.
    The standard java files will be updated , but will not be shown in conflicts. If you have customized any std classes make sure that you are using the latest one.

    Hi,
    This bug is fixed in SP09 patch 1. This happens because you assigned process control items to roles which are not available anymore. For example, the role doesn't exist anymore because the action in the underlying block was deleted.
    The work around is to recreate the process object and to insert the blocks again.
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP GUI slow down after installed Eastern Asian Language Package

    Hello,
    Have any idea what happened to SAP GUI after installed Eastern Asian Language Package on Windows XP ?
    I am working on smartforms translations in SE63 and during entering the japanese or chinese text my working area is slowing down(problems with scrolling), like missing memory or sth?
    How to overcome it?

    There is a known performance problem with certain SAPGUI patches in certain constellations:

  • Reference external library movieclip in library with AS3

    Hello, i am able to load at runtime a library asset in flash
    cs3. i do this by setting up its linkage property and setting its
    base class. for eg
    Class: MyButton
    Base: flash.display.MovieClip
    then in my document class, say i had
    com.kofi.InitializeTemplate, my class looks like this
    package com.kofi
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import MyButton;
    public class InitializeTemplate extends MovieClip
    var testButton:MyButton;
    public function InitializeTemplate():void
    trace("the button class has been called");
    testButton = new MyButton();
    addChild(testButton);
    however, once i bring in an external library asset(which i
    have already exported and set it base class etc), i am unable to
    call this shared library asset with as3. anyone know what i am
    talking about?

    Hi Sigiswald,
    well it seems SAP also considers that a bug, if you go to the Service marketplace -> Support Packages and Patches -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NETWEAVER -> SAP NETWEAVER 2004S -> Entry by Component -> Development Infrastructure, there is a SAP_BUILDT SP09 Patch 1 referring to note 993799 which says:
    "Jar files, especially from development components with type "External Library" are not assembled into the WDA archive for Web Dynpro development components."
    Are you using the original SP09 version or this patch?

  • Xview font error in Solaris 8

    Hello,
    When we run the command
    #> cmdtool -fn '-adobe-symbol-medium-r-normal--14-140-75-75-p-85-adobe-fontspecific'
    in Solaris 8, we get the following Xview problem:
    "XView warning: Cannot load font set '-adobe-symbol-medium-r-normal--14-140-75-75-p-85-adobe-fontspecific' (Font package)"
    We're actually migrating an in-house application from Solaris 2.6 to 8 and use this particular font. The font is listed when we use xlsfonts. The same font in Solaris 2.6 has no problem. Temporarily, just so we can proceed with other phases of the migration, the developer recompiled the program with a different font and it was working. But we still want to resolve the problem and use the original font.
    Further testing reveals that only those 'fontspecific' fonts have this problem in Solaris 8, no problem with other fonts. The same problem is present in all our Solaris 8 and 7 machines, while our Solaris 2.6 machines execute the command without problems.

    We are using Solaris 8 aswell.
    Recently we did a patchupdate and we installed the latest Jumbo patch.
    In here was a patch wich involved the fontserver. After removing this patch everything was ok.
    ( we downgraded this single patch)

  • Error in Fiori Launchpad "could not start the app due..."

    Hello everyone,
    I am having a previously unseen (well, at least for me) error which raises on a click on the tile "Track Purchase Orders" on the SAP Fiori Launchpad:
    "Could not start the app due to an internal error" (see the screenshot attached)
    I haven't found any help on this error on Google and SAP portals.
    The other applications work fine. So did this one before the implementation of SAP_UI 740 SP09 (before that it was SAP_UI 740 SP08). We applied all the notes specified in this post http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-56967
    Components needed for Track Purchase Orders are patched to their maximum levels (UIX01EAP 100 SP03 and SRA020 600 SP05). OData and UI5 services are activated.
    Plus, this error doesn't appear in the Gateway error logs (transaction /iwfnd/error_log) so troubleshooting is difficult.
    The issue is systematically reproducible and has been reproduced on several computers.
    Thanks a lot if you have any insight about this issue!
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

    Thank you for replying.
    I have inspected the element and clicked on the tile. The network tab is below:
    The status seems OK.
    The response for ResolveLink:

    I'm surprised that gbapp_poapproval and sra001 OData services are called here (with an intriguing ";mo")... We have found these errors in our /iwfnd/error_log screen after the SAP_UI 740 SP09 patch. Seeing this, we have installed GBAPP002 600 SP6 and SRA001 600 SP4 and activated the OData services but have not tried to use the corresponding apps (meaning that we have not done any other app implementation tasks because we don't really intend to for the moment).
