Downgrade from  NCo 2.0 Beta to 1.02

Hallo,
I want to downgrade from version 2 beta to version 1.02. Are there any known problems concerning this procedure ?
Or is it just enough to uninstall version 2 completly and install version 1.02 afterwards.
Best regards,
G.Rausch

Thank you for your answer.
I´ve tested it last week on an extra PC. No problems occurred since then.

  • How can i downgrade from iTunes 10.5 Beta 2 to iTunes 10.5 Beta 1?

i have a iPhone on iOS 5.0 Beta 1 and iTunes on 10.5 beta 2 but i cant sync and when i install itunes 10.5 beta 1 it's not possible to start itunes
    what can i do?

The info below corrects the mistake of upgrading to iTunes 10.5 Beta 2 before installing iOS 5.0 Beta 2 on your iDevice.
To downgrade from iTunes 10.5 Beta 2 to iTunes 10.5 Beta 1 you need to trash the iTunes Application before running the Beta 1 installer. Otherwise the icon will just bounce once and the app won't run.
Then once you are back on Beta 1 should should restore your iDevice to iOS 5 beta 2 (you can only use restore, upgrade doesn't work and throws error 3002) you then need to install iTunes beta 2 and then restore from your backup.

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 Beta back to Windows XP

I was wondering if anyone knew how to downgrade from the Windows 7 bets back down to XP or even Vista?

Since in order to load Windows 7 on a machine running XP you need to either do a clean install or set up a dual boot, and your post doesn't suggest a dual boot is involved, the only way to reinstall XP would be a clean reinstall.  If you have your system restore disks, that would make life easier.  Vista offers more options since you can upgrade Vista to Windows 7 - that then allows for a downgrade using the archived OS files and settings.

  • Can someone at RIM REMOVE my PB PIN from the 2.0 beta?

    Hi all,
I'm trying to DOWNGRADE from the 2.0 beta and am unable to do so. Each time I try, the Playbook tries to download OS 2.0 again during the setup process. I was unable to backup on 1.x and have been able to use the "debrick" procedure with Desktop Manager to install 1.0.7.
If someone at RIM can help, please let me know. I've decided to wait for an official release before I start developing for 2.0, I need my Playbook for daily use as well as for development (which is done on the side), and some native apps just don't work properly on this release. Thanks for your help!

There is no reason to be running beta software, I doubt it will even still run as iOS 6 has been officially released.  Or were you simply trying to be funny?
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • Windows XP Pro SP2 cd-rom after downgrading from Vista

    Hi everybody.
I successfully downgraded my T61p from Vista to XP Pro SP2 using the downgrade cd-roms send by Lenovo.
Everything seems to work well. I downloaded all drivers. No problem.
But I recently installed a rather old software that I frequently used on my old A31p. This software (a Microsoft program !) has automatically modified some files from XP Pro without any autorization.
Once it was done, I was asked by the system to insert the original Windows XP Pro SP2 cd-rom to repair this modification.
Of course, the (Vista to XP) downgrade cd-rom set was not recognized by the Thinkpad as the original XP set.
    An original cd-rom which I finally don't have !
I tried with an original XP Pro SP2 cd-rom bought a few years ago for my A31p. Unsuccessful.
Where could I find the XP Pro SP2 cd-rom corresponding to the downgraded system ?
Thanks for your help and suggestions.
    Regards.

    James,
    thanks for your answer.
But I wrote on my first post "I tried with an original XP Pro SP2 cd-rom bought a few years ago for my A31p. Unsuccessful."
Thus, I don't see any difference between an original Microsoft Windows XP2 Pro SP2 version cd-rom and one created by burning a downloaded version of the OS. An original was not recognized, what would a copy do ?
If possible, it might be probably better to create an XP Pro SP2 cd-rom from the "Rescue and Recovery" files which were reinstalled when downgrading from Vista to XP. (I hate the word "downgrade" : while I was doing it, I had the feeling I was upgrading my Thinkpad !)
I have been using for several years (and still use) an A31p (Since 2002, 8 to 10 hours a day) and a T42p. IMHO, the T61p is the same category of "great" notebooks. Thinkpads are really the best notebooks I have ever used. I noted no significant difference between IBM and Lenovo Thinkpads.

  • Is there a way to downgrade from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 4.1 without any unauthorised modifications (e.g. jailbreaking)?

I found this piece of information: http://osxdaily.com/2012/06/18/downgrade-ios-6-beta-to-ios-5/ Yes, it's about downgrading from iOS 6 beta, not iOS 6, but the way to downgrade to a previous version of iOS is basically the same.
I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1 and an iPod touch 4 running iOS 5.1.1 as well. None of them is 'jailbroken'. I upgraded my iPod touch to iOS 6 for exploring it a bit more and reverted back to iOS 5.1.1. How? I did it the way stated by the website I mentioned above: just by Option-Clicking the 'Restore' button on iTunes and select the iOS 5.1.1 software. No need to enter recovery mode or DFU mode whatsoever.
In fact, Apple doesn't allow users to downgrade to a previous version of iOS: 'Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported.' (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694) The reason why I could downgrade from iOS 6 to iOS 5.1.1 may be, as the above website said, 'Typically you can’t downgrade iOS versions so easily, but because Apple is still signing iOS 5.1.1 this allows downgrading to commence with minimal effort.'
I was wondering whether I could revert all the way from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 4.1 (the version that was shipped along with the launch of the iPod touch 4 in September 2010). (for experimental purposes)
I downloaded the iOS 4.1 (a list of iOS software: http://osxdaily.com/2010/10/30/download-ipod-touch-firmware-ipsw/) and tried Option-Clicking when restoring this iOS 4.1 — no luck. iTunes said 'This device is not eligible for the requested build'. And I did a bit of research and found that there are ways to downgrade from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 4.1, but it seems you have to jailbreak the device, which is complicated and I don't want to do.
So, is there a way to downgrade from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 4.1 without any unauthorised modifications (e.g. jailbreaking)? Thanks in advance.

No, downgrading from any version of iOS to an earlier version is not supported.

  • Upgrade Safari 1.2 to 1.3.1 after downgrade from Tiger to Panther

I wished to restore performance to my G3 iBook by downgrading from Tiger to Panther, and have been successful with that and have restored all apps to Panther versions except for Safari. The downgrade (archive and install) left Safari 2.0 on my HD for some reason, which of course wouldn't launch under 10.3.9. I dragged Safari 2 to the trash, downloaded Safari 1.2 which installed fine. However when I try to upgrade now to 1.3.1, I am told by the installer that the software cannot be used with the disc volume (the system volume) I choose to install to.
(BTW, invoking Software Update says my software is all up to date, even though I'm only on Safari 1.2.)
I've seen the other threads which have suggested removing Safari pkg receipts from /library/receipts, but this hasn't helped me in this case; I can't find any thread that had a successful resolution yet. Anything else anyone can suggest? Many thanks.

    Mark:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You can try using Pacifist to extract Safari from your install disk and install it. You may then be able to upgrade it more easily, although I can't promise that for sure.
Unless you are absolutely wedded to Safari, I find Camino to be at least as good (I think better) as Safari, and looks almost identical, so that there should not be much of a learning curve. I also use Firefox and especially like it for the measure of security it provides.
Please do not hesitate to post back with further questions or comments.
    Good luck.

  • Downgrading from JDK 1.5.x to JDK 1.4.x

    Hi there,
I hope someone helps me with an issue:
I developed a web app using JDev 10.1.3.3 using the JDK 1.5 included with JDev.
As we are now faced with the fact that this app has to run on an OAS 10.1.2, which to my knowledge uses JDK 1.4.x I have to downgrade from JDK1.5.x->1.4.x.
The technologies that I used are Toplink, EJB 3.0 Session Bean and ADF Faces for the UI layer.
I already downloaded and installed JDK 1.4.2_15 from Sun and changed the default JDK from 1.5.x in JDeveloper to use 1.4.2_15. When I recompiled my Model Project, as excected, I got the following compilation errors on my Bean Class java source file:
    Error(29,1): errorIllegalCharacter
Error(29,2): 'class', 'interface', or 'enum' expected
on the same line where I had the EJB 3.0 annotation as follows:
    @Stateless(name = "NordPublicFacade")
and also on my Local Interface source:
    Error(22,1): errorIllegalCharacter
Error(22,2): 'class', 'interface', or 'enum' expected
    for the line:
    @Local
OK, I know that these annotations/injections(or whatever they're called) are new features of EJB 3.0 and can only be used with JDK 1.5.
I also have red underlines in some facade methods where generics are used for Toplink Named Queries (please remember this is generated code) so for example:
    List<CompanyStructure> findAllCompanyStructure();
On my ViewController project (the UI project) I get the following errors:
    refresh = false;
Error(37,17): operator = not applicable to class java.lang.Boolean and boolean
    JSFUtils.setManagedBeanValue(ctx,"userState.refresh",true);
Error(92,7): method setManagedBeanValue(javax.faces.context.FacesContext, java.lang.String, boolean) not found in class NordMaintApp.view.util.JSFUtils
    My questions
    1) What's the best way to go about downgrading?
    a) Should I create a new EJB 2.x Session Bean or should I use the Java Service Facade (which I hope creates a POJO and therefore is EJB version independant or not?)
    b) Is it necessary to do anything special to the Toplink classes?
    2) What are the errors that I get in my ViewController project ?
    Thanks In Advance
    G.P.

Hi again Shay and THANK YOU!
We simply downloaded OC4J 10.1.3 & installed it (all we had to do is simply unzip it) in a separate directory on its own, on the SAME Server as OAS (10.1.2.02 EE, which includes Discoverer and Portal) AND IT WORKED !
We're now back on using JD 10.1.3 with all its new features etc etc. We even downloaded JDK1.5 and got OC4J working with this JDK WITHOUT, of course, affecting our OAS 10.1.2 installation which works with JDK1.4.2. That woudn't have been possible without your feedback.
It's just that looking at that reference you gave me, I thought that I would have to create a separate instance on the OAS 10.1.2 installation and install 10.1.3 on that one. But eventually it was so much simpler than that. And the memory overhead of OC4J is not that much.
I could create a simple ADF JSF page which just displays data from a table and it's OK!
I could deploy it just fine, though I found out that I have to deploy the ADF Runtimes first; OC4J doesn't come with them. Other than that, it was just fine!
As I said, I'm now using ADF JSF pages for my front-end and ADF BC for my back end; it's so much easier than using Toplink directly.
Only one problem left though (sorry to bother you like that):
In one of the previous emails you mentioned it might be better to use Webcenter for ADF Faces. Unfortunately we cannot go with this option I'm afraid, because we already have an existing portal running on the Oracle Portal that's already included with our OAS 10.1.2.02. I assume that the Oracle Portal's version is also 10.1.2.02. Can I deploy ADF JSF faces as a portlet on this one ? I realise that JDev 10.1.3 comes with some wizards to do this and it seems that I have 2 options: Oracle PDK-Java Portlets or JSR-168 based portlets. I just want whichever one will allow me to have my ADF JSF pages deployed as Portlets on OP 10.1.2.02, so that it can be integrated into any one of the exisiting Portal pages that a colleague of mine already developed (and are waiting for my pages to finish, which currently, when called from a link inside a Portal page displays it in a new page and the user can get back to the Portal page by clicking on the browser's back button). I realise that If I have the JSF page as a portlet, it will then be possible to be integrated into an existing page, that is, have my page to occupy it's own region in a Portal's page.
Once again, Thanks for your help and Thanks In Advance.
    R,
    G.P.

  • Help on small issues after WinXP downgrade from Vista

    Lenovo 3000 v200
I recently downgraded from Vista to WinXP Professional, and I must say I'm much happier with XP.
Some issues on the install: although I downloaded all drivers from the Lenovo site, the install didn't work from my usb floppy drive.
It recognized the floppy on the F6 portion of the install, but then later it kept asking for the disk to be inserted (it was already in the drive).  Workaround was to install by changing to "compatibility mode" in the BIOS, and after install, loading all drivers and changing BIOS back to SATA.
All features of the laptop appear to work perfectly; camera, fingerprint reader, wifi, etc.
HOWEVER: in the device manager, there are 3 yellow exclamation points in the "Other Devices" section, and each of them is labeled "Base System Device."   Does anyone know what these are?  Why are they not recognized as specific devices?  LenovoCare doesn't recognize them either, and I have no idea what drivers to attempt to install for mystery devices.
Also, "Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus" won't install.  I have the current driver, and I've tried updating from LenovoCare, but no luck.  As I don't use a modem, this seems irrelevant, but I'd like to install it just the same if possible.
Finally, the LenovoCare recognized a need to install a "Hotkey" update, and it claims to successfully install, but everytime I run LenovoCare it says I need it again.  Any comments or observations?
Again, the computer works just fine even with these small issues.  In fact, it is better than fine; it is a joy to use and a real speed demon with XP instead of Vista.  So I'm not trying to do any rocket science or potentially screw up a very nice situation, but I am trying to iron out these small nuisances.
Thanks to all of you who consider my trivial problems.  I really appreciate having knowledgable individuals like yourselves help out a very modestly skilled, but reasonably ambitious user.
    Cheers,
    Fred

    Hello Fred,
I created a blog on this forum called.... "I Explain How To Downgrade From Vista To XP Successfully On A 3000 N100 Laptop" Locate this message and read through it. Try the "Auto Detect This System" I Talk about. It will load the latest drivers and the latest...BIOS..... for your particular model if you have not already upgraded it. You did not mention if you had upgraded your BIOS...... if your running an  "OLD" version.... THIS..... could be your problem.

    How can I downgrade from 11.0 and re-install 10.7

First, reconsider your decision. 11.x isn't quite as user-friendly as 10.x, but it has pretty much the same functions are before (albeit in different places). Give it a few more days, and you might grow to like it. Future releases will only get better.

Hank did Google maps give you turn by turn functions NO
Are the new maps complete far from it but they are based on crowd technology -IF you have information for your locality share it and it will be added to the servers.
Yes its 1.0 software but it WILL get better as the data base builds.
Further Apple were paying license fees to competing Google that they don't now.
The GPS, and raw data from TomTom that powers the new Maps are actually quite accurate.
If you want to see street view you still can by adding a link/home icon after visiting
http://www.viewstreetnoflash.com in safari on your iOS device.
Turn by turn is NEW and free to use functionality within Maps and that was NOT in Google Maps.
Prior to you had to spend £50+ on a decent (Still do really) TBT app from Garmin or Tom Tom.
In the apps store there are 100s of Mapping apps covering a multitude of countries and regional transportation systems around the world.
GPS and walking maps are also available.
You have lost nothing really other than Street View natively.
However imo I do think flyover, and similar technologies seen competing Bing and even Google Maps looks good but is actually functionally useless.

  • How do I downgrade from ios6

I don't like apple maps. How do I downgrade from ios6 so I can get google maps and streetview again?

It's a pity one cannot downgrade, google maps streetview was really good.
My local underground station has a sign explaining "iphone ios6 users can get a paper map from the information stand". I believe someone wrote it on there. Did make me laugh. I hope Apple get to grips with their maps version, perhaps they could have waited until it was somewhat better. Anyway, thanks for the reply.
