Downgrade the installation from Office Professional Plus to Office Standard

Dear All,
We have several computers with Office 2007 Professional Plus installed, however, how we would like to change it back to Office 2007 Standard, is there any remote / command line method other than uninstall and install? Since we have about 1000 computers and
some of them are at remote office.

Meanwhile, you might want to take a look at this KB article and see if it helps:

You can try to repair the program if it already appeares in Control Panel, or use Microsoft Fix It tool to remove any traces of Office 2013 from your computer, then try again.

I encountered the same exact problem when I attempted to re-installed OSX Lion on an old laptop. The date was set back in 2000, which rendered the certificate obsolete. Here's how I fixed it:
From the recovery menu, select the Terminal application. Run the 'date' command to confirm the date is wrong, then set the correct date using this command: date {month}{day}{hour}{minute}{year}
e.g. date 1219195613
Exit terminal (type exit). Retry the installation.

Uninstaller utility does not remove the installation from the registry

In our environment, we publish a script in Group Policy so that both the ActiveX and Plugin installs for flash player are easily installed for staff that have limited user access on their computers. I usually remove or replace the old MSI files from the path the above script installs from when I get new versions of Flash Player. For a while, I've run into a problem where when the new MSI files are installed, they try to uninstall the existing installation and fail because the old MSI file is no longer at the original installation source path. I've tried to remedy this by having the script use the uninstall_flash_player utility to manually remove the activex and plugin first, but this utility does not remove the installation details of each from the registry, and the subsequent installations of the MSI files fail. I have to uninstall the existing flash player installations first or perform a registry hack to formally remove the installation from Windows, and then the new installation will succeed.
Does anybody have any advice for making this process work better? Would this be considered a bug with the uninstaller tool?

How to keep the installer from installing iTunes in Program Files?

I am running Windows 7 64-bit. Because the folder "Program Files" is a protected folder in Windows I want to install iTunes under a folder "C:\Apple\iTunes". If I download iTunes and manually install it I can tell it to put it there and it installs there fine. If it tries to install iTunes under "C:\Program Files" all sort of problems are created. Sometimes ownership of the folder is lost and that is a real pain to fix so I can delete the program. Once after I created this folder and install iTunes under C:\Apple I received notice that the installer had an update to iTunes. I told it to install it and it replaced the one in the C:\Apple folder like it was supposed to. Since that one time, months ago, every time the installer goes to install an update it wants to put it in C:\Program Files and the installation fails. Sometimes I can actually delete the folder that it has created sometimes the ownership is messed up and I have to start up in Safe Mode to delete it. (A real pain.)
So can I prevent the installer from putting the updates in the C:\Program Files folder and if so how? It finds the old version, under C:\Apple, but won't put the new installation there, so it fails every single time.
Any ideas?

If you go to the standard download page it will detect the architecture of your PC and offer the correct installer. Up to iTunes 12.0 the "64 bit" versions of iTunes were actually 32-bit applications with a 64-bit installer - so will install in C:\Program Files (x86). As of iTunes 12.1 it is a "true" 64-bit application so installs in C:\Program Files.
You can avoid using the Apple Software Update by:
in iTunes, unchecking the Check for new software updates automatically box in Edit > Preferences > Advanced
in Apple Software Update, select the "Never" radio button in Edit > Preferences > Schedule
If you want to keep these active so that you're notified when there is a new version of iTunes available, just click Quit when the Updater opens and then install manually. There's no accessible option in the Updater to alter the target folder for automated installations. There's probably something in the Windows Registry that relates to this, but I'd be wary of changing this without substantial testing - there could be interaction/conflict with Windows settings regarding the correct location of 32- and 64-bit applications.

Each time I click on an icon or file folder, the installation of Adobe Professional 9.5 restarts.

Each time I try to click on ANY file folder or desktop icon, windows installer starts and begins re-installation of the 9.5 upgrade! After installing 9.5.1, same problem There was no such problem until I upgraded form the orignal software Adobe Professional 9.0. I have windows Vista Home Professional with service pack 2. ALL installs of Adobe at all times seem to go to completion without a problem. I've tried restarting my pc many times. Suggestions?

You can downgrade from 8.3 to 8.2. It's reported that Bad Elf GPS works in 8.2.

Win7 activation failed on W530 after downgrade the OS from pre-installed Win8

I used the Windows 7 recovery discs which shipped from lenovo to recover the Operating System of my W530 to Windows 7 Utilmate . My W530 is Windows 8 pre-installed. Now the Windows 7 let me to activate my operating system online. But I don't kown why the Windows 7 need to be activated.
Please help me to solve the problem.

The following pictures are the 3 discs. All of them have lenovo branded. And those disks were applied from lenovo after buying the W530. Why lenovo shipped the discs to me as konwing I have no rights to downgrade?

I'm trying to install Windows XP on my Leopard 10.5.8 using Boot Camp Assistant but when it restarts it says I should insert a bootable disk even though I didn't remove the installer from the drive. What should I do?

More info: I'm using an external CD drive because the built-in one doesn't work for some reason.
Also I went back and deleted the partition (also using Boot Camp Assistant) and just gave up on installing XP, but now every time I turn on my macbook I have to press the Option key to mount the Mac HD. If I don't, it returns to the black screen that says I have to insert the bootable disk and press any key. How do I stop this problem? I've already verified the disk and permissions, plus repaired it. It's still the same.

Go into your system preferences and click the startup disk icon then select your Mac HD.

in the company I´m working for it´s not possible to install add-ons by the Users . That´s what I´m going to change.
We use Firefox ESR 17 and Window 7.
I want to make add-ons available for everybody by integrating an internal central service. That is possible by customizing the "extension.webservice.discoverURL" to the server I´m talking about. The Problem is that nobody should be able to install add-ons from any other source, for example addons.mozilla.org, local media,...
Do you have an idea, how this problem can be solved?
Maybe there is a possibility by using the lockPref "xpiinstall.enabled false" in conjunction with a whitelist defining my Server?

Although with many hacks there could be some sort of workaround that advanced users may employ when attempting to circumvent the measures, such as the ability to use Firefox in safe-mode and then install add-ons, or even run a browser from a memory stick.

Better learn how to work around its quirks and learn to tolerate it. It is a losing battle to go back to 6. Not only is is legally impossible, the vast amount of sold new devices with it and the downloads thus far make it unfeasible. And as time progresses, more and more apps will be iOS-7-only.

How do you start HTML DB? Just used the installer from the companion disc

Companion disc dated 09/08/2005 - it run fine. HTTP server is also running. It runs in Oracle_home. Instead of the home of my database Oracle_home1. How do I start HTML DB, I don't see any icon for it?

Make sure that you can tnsping your Oracle DB. I have installed HTMLDB recently and also couldn't connect to my HTMLDB, only to Oracle HTTP server. However, as soon I got my Oracle networking done correctly, and tnsping to my DB, I also could connect to HTMLDB.

Problem updating from Acrobat 10.1.10 to 11. Error 1001, and am told to connect to update server. When I activated the installer, message said Install failed, contact manufacturer for assistance, so I am.

I am using a 2011 MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.9.5. Have been using Acrobat 10.1.10, but got a pop-up notice from Adobe today, saying that it had been awhile since last logged on and my software was due for an update. However, after downloading the update Acrobat 11, the updater seems to be unable to FIND the file to update, so it asks me to select the file to update. When I found it, the file icon was grayed out, and wouldn't allow me to select it. Gave me a message for "Error 1001". I'm an experienced Mac user, but not a programmer, so I don't know what that means. When I tried to run the installer from the downloaded file, it stopped, saying "Installation Failed" due to encountering an error—which was NOT named or numbered—and that I should contact the manufacturer for assistance. Which I am ATTEMPTING to do, but it appears to be impossible to actually get direct help.
Suggestions, or better yet, direct answers, would be appreciated.

Did you ever figure out the problem? "Contact Software Manufacturer"?? That sounds ominous... I've got the same issue and I'm pretty durn aggravated right about now....
