Downgrade to 5.1.1 - Apple *****

Any suggestions on how to downgrade from just released ios6 to ios 5.1.1 on iphone 4s?
ios6 *****. Tons of problems.

since you seem to know a lot about this stuff, and the people at apple won't help me or I guess I should say their suggestions didn't help, instead of whine and rant I'll ask you how to fix the problems I'm having with iOS6 on my 4s.
Problem 1: I cannot hook up to wifi. It sometimes looks for wifi but can't find any, when I've done the reset it then will not even look for wifi. So basicall, wifi doesn't work.
Problem 2: my battery drains, fast. I've followed apple suggestions on how to fix this problem but that didn't work.
Now, the only way I've figured to fix these problems would be to go back to iOS 5.1.1. To me that seems to be an obvious solution. So if you could please tell me how to fix these problems I'll stop whinning about my 4s and iOS6.

Sorry, but downgrading is not supported by Apple. To get your 4s working again, set it up as new device, explained in this article:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
You may want to start without using the backup, in case it contains damaged files, causing your problems.
If it does not work after that, you'll have to get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store:

Hello Apple! Anybody there? How long does your community have to wait for a solution?
The same problem has been unsolved for months now. No statements from Apple either.
I was told today to wait for 10.8.3. This might solve the issue. I can not belive my ears.
My MacBookPro 4,1, Intel Core 2 Duo with 2.5 GHz Processor and Graphics chip: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, will not talk to the exter. 20" Cinema Display ( Model Number A1081 ). The screen stays black. Resetting the PRAM did not help. I removed the 'com.apple.windowserver.plist' and the 'com.apple.windowserver.OE35739etc,etcxxxxxxxxxxx.plist', but that did not help either.
Any other solutions, or do I have to downgrade or give up on Apple Computers alltogether after using them for over 25 years?

When I found out that solved the problem, I took it back because that was too expensive for a stupid adapter, and it still didn't work perfectly.

How can I REALLY downgrade my iCloud storage? Apple is trying to scam ppl out of $$. They will NOT allow you to downgrade per their instructions. It ALWAYS says the iCloud manager is not available, try later. Here is what my email says:
This is a reminder that on 03/03/2015 you will be charged $10.99 for your 20 GB storage plan using your Visa •••• (deleted). If you do not wish to be charged, you can cancel by downgrading to the free storage plan from your iOS device, Mac or PC.

I'm so disappointed that all my products are currently Apple and now I down't trust them as far as I can throw them. There is already a class action suit in Florida for the icon taking up 23% of users' available space, now they are trying to charge me $$ yearly when I do NOT need the space? Shame, Apple.. No... the "done" button will not light up, and it says the iCloud manager is "not available at this time. Try again later." This is a known problem... fix it.

Thank you Roger! Going into my iTunes at least allowed me to delete my credit card info so they can't charge it. In the meantime, after 2 calls I finally got connected to a Senior Advisor from Apple who was able to manually go into my account and remove the automatic charge to my credit card. After sharing my screen, she was able to see the issue many others are having being unable to downgrade. There is a bug in the system that tells you the manage storage is "unavailable at this time". She followed me through several of these threads and realized it is actually an issue. She took all the relevant information and will submit a bug fix request. She even admitted that goal and apple were having an issue syncing to the correct time zone at that there was no know fix at this time. While frustrating, the honesty was refreshing.

I went through Apple support and didn't realize that there are no Apple employees on here. I was on the line with someone from customer service that wasn't as helpful at the time and was very frustrated..
Thanks again for your help! To all others having this problem, keep calling Apple tech support until you get a Senior Advisor - they will help!! The advisor even told me to tell people to call in and that they need to manually downgrade on their end until they get this issue resolved.

Upgrade Safari 1.2 to 1.3.1 after downgrade from Tiger to Panther

I wished to restore performance to my G3 iBook by downgrading from Tiger to Panther, and have been successful with that and have restored all apps to Panther versions except for Safari. The downgrade (archive and install) left Safari 2.0 on my HD for some reason, which of course wouldn't launch under 10.3.9. I dragged Safari 2 to the trash, downloaded Safari 1.2 which installed fine. However when I try to upgrade now to 1.3.1, I am told by the installer that the software cannot be used with the disc volume (the system volume) I choose to install to.
(BTW, invoking Software Update says my software is all up to date, even though I'm only on Safari 1.2.)
I've seen the other threads which have suggested removing Safari pkg receipts from /library/receipts, but this hasn't helped me in this case; I can't find any thread that had a successful resolution yet. Anything else anyone can suggest? Many thanks.

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You can try using Pacifist to extract Safari from your install disk and install it. You may then be able to upgrade it more easily, although I can't promise that for sure.
Unless you are absolutely wedded to Safari, I find Camino to be at least as good (I think better) as Safari, and looks almost identical, so that there should not be much of a learning curve. I also use Firefox and especially like it for the measure of security it provides.

Are you choosing a different plan before tapping Done?
To downgrade, you should be doing the following:
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
Tap Change Storage Plan.
Tap Downgrade Options and enter your Apple ID password.
Choose a different plan to use when your current storage plan expires.
Tap Done.

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
If the issue persists...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore

Why Whenever i watch with my apple tv the video lags

Whenever I Use airplay for my Mac Book Pro So i can watch stuff on my apple tv the videos seem to lag and sometimes t dosent even play yet on my laptop theres no issues,can someone explain why and what to do to fix it?

This morning I downgraded the firmware of my Apple TV to 5.3 (I was on 6.0.2). This solved my problem! :)
I too had lagging playback, both from iTunes as well as for Airplaying a video from my iPad. Often the airplay just would not start.
With firmware 5.3 my ATV is again as fast as it used to be: videos start promptly, no waiting for the spinning disc and hoping the thing will start. It just works now :)

To setup my new iPhone5, I need to be able to load my latest iCloud backup which I have done on my iPhone4S. Unfortunatly this runs under iOS6.1.1 which is not available for the iPhone 5. How can I now downgrade my iPhone4S?

Since Apple has stated that they have indentified a fix for the iOS 6.1 / Exchange problem and will be releasing that soon things will probably be coming back together in an iOS ~6.1.2 (probably).

Are there any instructions on how to downgrade my iPhone 4S from iOS 8.1.2 to iOS 7.1.2. My iPhone feels a lot slower ever since I have upgraded to iOS 8. Upgrading it each time has improved a tiny bit but I would much prefer iOS 7.1.2. Downgrading to Mavericks

I just made the mistake of upgrading my Macbook Air from Mavericks to Yosemite. I'm regretting it since I'm not liking any aspect of the new look & feel. I'm desperate to downgrade to Mavericks. Could Apple Tech support please help me ?

Two things, first you are not talking to Apple here, only to other users like yourself. If you want Apple Tech Support you will need to contact them.
Second in order to roll back to Mavericks you will need to resort from your last Mavericks backup, the one done before the upgrade to Yosemite. There is no other way to go go back to an earlier OS version.
