Downgrade to an earlier version

I'm having trouble with the "bugs" in version six. The workarounds haven't solved them. Is it possible to downgrade to an earlier version such as 2 or 3?
A friend doing similar work has version 3 and doesn't have the issues I do.
Thanks.

iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I'm with you, Dale. iMovie 6.0 is the worst! I have wasted a lot for time trying to import photos, do voiceovers and even save. Cannot do voiceovers (click the red button and it takes 1-4 minutes to start recording), photos are fuzzy & Ken Burns effect does not work, and takes forever to save. Don't even think about emptying the trash! I learned iMovie 5.0 on my iMac G5 but iMovie 6.0 ***** on my dual 2.7 G5 wit h2 gigs of ram and lots of HD space. I may fire up the iMac just to do this one project, but I'd need to import 2 hours of clips again and add over 2000 photos to iPhoto 5.0. No happy solution...

  • Downgrade database to earlier version is it possible?

    Hi All,
We are planning to upgrade our database from 10.1.0.4 to 10.2.0.2 on our SRM server. ( it is an upgrade and not just patch set application )
Can anybody guide for any fallback plan that should we go for?
i.e. if due to any problem we want to downgrade our database to earlier version, what procedure should be followed.
Will database upgrade make any changes to our data files?
If I take offline backup of database using brtools, will I be able to restore it on the newer version of databse?
Or should we go for NT level Backup ( file system backup ) if yes...What file systems should be included.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Shamish

    Hello Shamish,
    > Can anybody guide for any fallback plan that should we go for?
At first you should know that a downgrade is only possible, if you have done everything correct (especially with the parameter COMPATIBLE - sapnote #598470). For oracle information about COMPATIBLE - take a look here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14238/compat.htm#i1014069
The downgrade procedure is described here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14238/downgrade.htm#CACGBHDB
    > Will database upgrade make any changes to our data files?
Of course, it make changes to your data files. If you set the correct COMPATIBLE only the content will be changed, if the COMPATIBLE is set to the upgraded version, the "logical" structure can / is be changed, too.
    > If I take offline backup of database using brtools, will I be able to restore it on the newer version of databse?
No, if you try to open a database that was created on 10.1.x with a 10.2.x installation, you will get an error and have to run the upgrade on the database again (STARTUP UPGRADE).
    > Or should we go for NT level Backup ( file system backup ) if yes...What file systems should be included.
    All oracle directories.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • How can I downgrade to an earlier version of iTunes w/out losing my music?

My computer, a 2004-ish Dell (OC'd GeForce FX550 graphics card, Pentium 4 2.00GHz, 1.99GHz 512 MB RAM, 50.9/74.4 GB of HD filled) is apparently too slow to run the newer versions of iTunes (currently on 7.4.3.1) I've lived with this for a while, but having to wait two to five minutes to do anything else after moving songs to a playlist on my ipod from my iPod or to my iPod from iTunes is unacceptable. As it stands I can't downgrade without uninstalling iTunes, but I don't want to lose all of the music that I've bought and added from my own fairly large collection. Am I okay to uninstall and downgrade? Is there some kind of workaround? Or am I condemned to suffer iTunes' glacial pace until I can get a new computer in June?

You will not loose your music if you uninstall Itunes and Reinstall another version. The music is on your hard drive and will stay there for ever (or as long as your hard drive runs). Try this: Reinstall the version of itunes you were using. Make a back up of all your library on cd (you should do this anyway just in case...). Uninstall the itunes and then install the version you want to use. You should then be able to import your itunes library in to the current version of itunes, if it doesn't do it automatically.....

  • I upgraded to FF 7.0.1 and it won't load. If I try to uninstall it, it says it is running. I have uninstalled and rebooted and installed an earlier version but the program won't open. Can someone please help me?

I have tried everything I can think of and that has been suggested in your knowledge base but FF will not open. I have downgraded to an earlier version but that didn't help so I've uninstalled everything and have done a clean reinstall of 7.0.1. I've rebooted at each step.
However when I tried to bring my bookmarks into Chrome (so I could keep working) it said FF was open. Same thing when I went to uninstall it. Task Manager does not show it running. Chrome is working so it's not my internet connection.
I have not installed any new software or hardware recently although I did upgrade Roboform to the latest version. This was the reason to update FF as the RF addon wasn't compatible with the version of FF I was using.
I've scanned for viruses and the machine is clean.
I am on a PC running Windows 7 Home Premium. At the moment I am working off my old laptop but I need FF working on my main machine.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kathy

Thanks for this mha007 - I can now open FF with a new profile. Can I copy my settings from the old profile or will this bring over the same problem, maybe a corrupt file. If it would bring the same problem, is there any way I can check which file is corrupt, apart from taking them over one by one?

  • How to downgrade my JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.0's project to earlier version for EM, Webcenter compatibility

    Greetings,
its been 4 months now im working on JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.0 with jsf 2.0 on weblogic standalone server.
I finally finish my big project, but now i want to use EM & Webcenter functionalities that works only at JDeveloper 11.1.1....
I don't want to start my project all over again so i was hoping there is a way to downgrade my project to earlier version of JDeveloper
that also supports earlier version of jsf (jsf is the library that messing up everything, specially EM, since jsf 2.0 is not supported)
will be thankful if you got any suggestions, steps or tutorial to downgrade my project so it can be used and deployed properly on 11.1.1.. JDeveloper
so i can use EM & Webcenter.

I just spend 6 hours at work, with no luck, managed to downgrade it, atleast jsf wise, but i got tons of errors every time i fix one. I should not mention the design mixup, just functionalities.
The next version will support the old versions of BI, Webcenter, EM etc or it will come along with new versions?
And did you hear how soon will be out? alteast in how many weeks to know what will be my next move.
    thanks.

  • HeLp!!! The earlier version of Fifefox supports "Live Connect" but the 3.6 doesn't. I need to downgrade my FireFox to an earlier version for my online classes. I'm desperate because I was supose to start class 10 days ago and cant. Please, help....

I looked in Firefox properties to find what I Firefox i am using and it shows the following:
The Firefox File version is: 1.9.2.3951

    The Product Version is: 3.6.12
My problem is this: The company I work for "Prudential R.E." has online training courses. I can't access it because I get the following message: "You cannot play the learn 2 course content with this version of netscape" because it has no live connect support"

  • A very important site, does not function properly anymore, how can i go back to an earlier version of firefox

Before i downloaded your firefox 8.0.1, I used firefox to 'save as' the ''Unrealized gain/loss page'' from a brokerage account, - for my ongoing historical financial records file (safari doesn't work for this site).
On the Unrealized gain/loss page, there is a '+' symbol (in front of each stock owned) that one needs to 'clic' on (turns to a -) to see the various dates (and financial data) when you purchased different lots of the same stock. (say, ''IBM''; purchased IBM shares on 21-10-'11, 100 shares, @ $147, current price @ $180, gain of $33/share, total gain $3,300 / 10-14-'11 purchased 200 IBM shares, @ $191, current price @ $180, loss of $11/share, total loss $2200 / - and so on for however many individual 'lots' one has of that particular stock. ). This information is very important to me, and now i can not 'save' it.
    - So I want to know how I 'fix' this - or - how I can go back to the earlier version, that did work.

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • Flash Builder 4.7 downgrade to 4.6 version

    Hey,
We have bought a license key for upgrade from Flash Builder 4.0 SE to Flash Builder 4.7 SE, but we need access to Designer View which is not available in FB 4.7.
Our distributor tell us, that it is possible by doing downgrade to Flash Builder 4.6. To do it we should contact with Adobe Support.
    So our questions are:
    1. How can we downgrade Flash Builder from 4.7 SE to 4.6?
    2. Could we change our license key to 4.6 license key?
    3. How can we download Flash Builder 4.6 binary files?
    Best regards,
    Juri

In order for you to downgrade you need to hava an AVL license, and yes it is possible, you just need to call support.
    http://www.adobe.com/volume-licensing/policies.html
    Check Backward licensing policy
"Adobe allows program members to order a current-version license but use a prior version. These members can contact Adobe Customer Service to request a serial number for the earlier version if they do not already have one. Prior-version software is available via ESD and can be purchased through standard resellers. The program member must follow all guidelines of the current-version EULA.
Note: This policy is applicable under the TLP and Forms Licensing Program (FLP) as well."
    Hope it helps!

I downloaded the newest version of firefox today 8/16/11 and now I cannot use Evernote (nor does clipmarks work from before) this is unacceptable. How do I return to the earlier version of firefox? If there is no way to do this, then I will have to use internet explorer so I hope you can help me with this. Thank You, Carol Roberts

Until Evernote updates their add-on to mark it compatible with Firefox 6, you can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter] to try re-enabling it yourself.
You can also downgrade to a previous version of Firefox from [https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ this archive], but please be warned that some old versions of Firefox have known security bugs that are fixed in later versions. • How do you downgrade to a previous version of firefox?

How do you down grade to a previous version of Firefox on an Android Phone? Current versions of Firefox no longer work with our WIFI network. Starting sometime around version 33 or 34 we started noticing that while using WIFI, Firefox would freeze every minute or two. Basically it would start to load a page then the progress bar would stop about 1/6th of the way across the screen. If you wait several minutes the bar would continue to about 5/6th of the way across the screen and then stop and not continue to load the page. If you turn WIFI off and then back on, Firefox will again work for a minute or two then freeze again. The timing is very specific and is not bound by a number of clicks. It also happens on all websites. The problem is not with the WIFI network because all programs including Chrome and the Android Browser work fine with WIFI. Also previous versions of Firefox work fine with the WIFI. We have the problem across several phone and manufacture types as well as across Android versions. We also did not have the freezing problem during a time of lower WIFI usage. So the problem specifically has to do with using newer versions of Firefox on a busy WIFI network. Because it may take time to fix these issues in Firefox we would like to downgrade to a previous version of Firefox that we know works with our WIFI network.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Roland
Here are the answers to your questions:
What models of Android tablets and phones are you using?
Samsung Note 4 (running Android 5.0.1), Samsung Rugby Pro (Running Android 4.1.2), Galaxy S5 Active (running Android 4.4.4) & Kyocera-E6560 (Running Android 4.4.2). There are others, but these are the ones I have access to right now.
What version of Firefox for Android are you using?
I started noticing the problem with version 34 on. It could have started with earlier versions but I first noticed it with version 34--we did a large phone upgrade and installed version 34 which was the current version at the time. I just tried 37.02 and am still having the problem.
As a side note I have an old Samsung note 1 (on Android 3.0.8). It is running Version 17 of Firefox and does not have the same problem.
Steps to reproduce: What did you do exactly, what happened and what did you expect?
For instance if I do a Google search trying to research something I type in the search hit and hit go. I then click on a link in the search and let the page load. Look at the page to see if it has the answer I need. Then hit the back button and repeat the process with the next link. After about 1.5 to 2 minutes Firefox starts to load the page then the progress bar freezes about 1/6th of the way across the screen. If you wait several minutes the progress bar generally will continue to about 4/6th or 5/6th of the way across the screen then freeze again. If you turn WIFI off then on again Firefox will work for another 1.5 to 2 minutes and freeze again.
Same thing happens if you are on a web page clicking through links on the page. The problem occurs on all web pages.
Also more details on your wifi network would be helpful:
Hmmm, this is a difficult one--I work at the University of Washington, but not with the IT department that manages the technology infrastructure. So I don’t have a lot of technical details. Basically (among other jobs) I do the phone support for the Campus maintenance division. I support 250 to 300 users. While I do not have a lot of the specifics I will do my best to give you a general idea.
The best way to think of the UW is a small city. We have about 45,000 students and somewhere between 20,000 to 30,000 staff plus visitors. On any given day we can have 80,000 to 90,000 people on campus all of which are capable of using the WIFI network. So when I say we have a high volume WIFI network it is extremely high volume.
I noticed the problem with Firefox before and after spring break, but did not have the problem during spring break. WIFI usage would have been way down during this time because there would have been fewer people on campus. So the problem only seems to occur when volumes are very high.
I had a meeting with a UW-IT rep several months ago and he explained that the 2.4 network was near capacity some places on campus, but the 5.0 network had plenty of bandwidth on it. I think most of the phones I have been using work on the 2.4 network, but the Note 4 works with the 5.0 network also and has the same problem. Additionally all other programs work fine with WIFI so I do not think capacity is the issue.
Also I know Firefox itself is not the issue because it worked during spring break and it works on the cellular network. So some combo of the high volume network and Firefox seems to be creating the problem. Maybe has to do with how Firefox handles things when capacity is reached or exceeded.
As another side note I did not have the problem with my home network, but I was only using 2 phones at the time.
It sounds like you are technical since you have done so much testing. Please file a bug with the steps to reproduce at:
I have some technical skills, but really I am just good at research. I will do my best with the bug report :)
As for downgrading (which we DO NOT recommend & support since older versions don't have security fixes!) you can install an old nightly from:
I will try to work my way back to see if I can figure out what version of Firefox the problem started with.
Please let me know if you have any ideas or need any additional info.
    Thanks!

  • How do I install an earlier version of firefox than the download page recommends?

I have a new PC and need to be able to use the delicious bookmark add-on for work. I loaded firefox 4 and the bookmark doesn't work so I need to load an earlier version and can't figure out how....only see an option to install firefox 4.

If you check with Delicious they may be able to indicate when they will update their add-on for Firefox 4.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6.* you can uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install Firefox 3.6.* available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.

  • I don't like the look or utility of Firefox 5.0. I miss the addons that I had in the earlier version. How do I go back to a previous version?

Since I upgraded to FF5, I have found it difficult to acclimate myself to the new look. The Home button is moved and I can't move it back, for instance. The refresh button is in a different place. These things make the newer version awkward to use. Also, I had certain add-ons, specifically one that automatically opened my Home Page whenever I opened a new tab, that I especially miss. Is it possible for me to use the earlier version of Firefox that I had before this one? I know that you think you improved your product, and maybe you did in some unknown fashion, but Henry Ford said almost 80 years ago that "change for the sake of change is not progress".

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

  • FireFox 8.0.1 does not work with most sites that functioned with no problems under earlier versions. I wish to uninstall and go back to an earlier version.

The more I attempt to use FireFox 8.0.1 the more problems I have. I find considerable interference with the functioning of RoboForm, my bookmarks keep disappearing, many sites that worked fine earlier and work fine with the Opera browser do not work under version 8. Where can I download an earlier version of FireFox

You can [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Uninstalling%20Firefox?s=uninstall+firefox&r=0&as=s uninstall] Firefox 8 first before you downgrade to Firefox 7. However, when you uninstall, make sure that you '''don't''' choose the option "'''Remove my Firefox Personal Data'''".
You can access a list of [ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ Previous Versions of Firefox], however, note that Firefox recommends using the latest version since older version may have security and safety vulnerabilities.
'''P.S:''' it may be a good idea to create a Restore Point before you uninstall, in case you mess up, in which case you can just restore and start over.
