I have the AE2712G & have downgraded from win8 to win7. Under win8, my keyboard & mouse worked fine.
I can't get them working with win7. All drivers are installed & the WMIHook utility too.
Is there something else I need? How does it communicate with the AIO?

Please see if this driver works for you...

  • Dual boot / downgrade win8 to win7

Hi, can someone provide instructions for installing usb win7 bootable iso to downgrade t440 (win8.1). Do i need to delete all partitions or only C:/ trying to install win7 on new partition return errors. Note: my TT40 laptop did not come with backup DVD of win 8. thx

You can keep Win 8ate and just dual booth.  I tri boot with these two plus Debian.  To accomplish, just create and install w7 in a new partition, 30GB is ideal.  Download all the latest updates from WUD and slipstream with 7Lite or WinToolKit for freshest and cleanest install possible.  Both tools allow you to recompile, boot and install off a usb.  If your w7 iso is without SP1 then just download the latest X17 iso here, it's legit; you'll just need your own cd key to activate with 30 days.

  • Portege Z930 - Few questions after downgrade from Win8 to Win7

    Hello,
    I recently purchased Z930 PT234E with Win8 pre-installed. Due to company policy, I needed to downgrade it to Win7 Pro 32Bit (deleted all partitions and created one partition as normally should be done). I downloaded all drivers for OS and installed. And everything started after that;
1- I'm trying to install TOSHIBA Smart Client Manager but returns with warning "+Before you start setting up TOSHIBA Smart Client Manager Client, copy an action masthead file for TOSHIBA Smart Client Manager Server to the setup folder.+" and I don't have that file and installation fails. *Where can I have this file for a succesful installation?*
2- You have +hwsetup+ software preinstalled on Win8 but I couldn't find that sw / driver, even for Win8 at download pages of Toshiba *Where can I get this sw as it gives ability to configure BIOS without waiting for boot?*
3- I see that the battery is +used+ while I left my device on hibernate. I unplug it from power adaptor after %100 charged and hibernate it. But after few hours, when I turn it on, I see it is %91! I susbect it is becuase of "+sleep and charge+" option is enabled from BIOS but I need to wait for next boot. *Any comments?*
4- If I purchase the recovery media online from Toshiba, will this help me to install Win8 as in first boot and create the deleted partitions as in "+*factory state*+". In other wprds, will this recovery media will set my z930 to factory state with OS and partitions. +OK, I assume this media is a DVD and I know that I need to create a bootable USB from this media...No worries :)+ .
Really thanks for reading and comments / replies :)

This file is not known to me and usually something like that should not appear if you would install the software in the right order.
Before you would start to install any of the Toshiba software you have to install Toshiba Value Added package for Windows 7!
Only if this VAP has been installed and notebook rebooted, you could follow with other tools.
    > 2- You have hwsetup software preinstalled on Win8 but I couldn't find that sw / driver, even for Win8 at download pages of Toshiba Where can I get this sw as it gives ability to configure BIOS without waiting for boot?
System driver package which is available for Win 8 is NOT available for Win 7.
Instead of system driver you have to installed VAP!

Any comments? The Sleep & Charge option as well as other options like Wake Up on LAN or keyboard may discharge the battery. So in case you dont want that, disable this in BIOS

I have a customer who is running some software that doesn't like win8 so I am downgrading his new envy17 to win7.  I've managed to get all of the other drivers installed and working but it doesn't seem to matter which additional drivers I try to download from other models I can't seem to get the realtek wired lan to work, the usb controller, or the synaptics touchpad.  Does anyone know which drivers will work for this model.

    Hi:
You should be able to use all of the drivers and software from this model, except the wireless.
When you go to install the graphics, you have to install the Intel HD graphics driver, reboot and then install the nVidia graphics driver.
DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR FIRMWARE DOWNLOADS FROM THIS LINK

  • Intel HD Driver issues when downgrading from Win8 to Win7

    Hi Guys,
I currently have a bunch of HP Pro3500MT machines which have come preinstalled with Win8 on these and after checking with HP they stated that these are compatible to be downgraded to run on Win7.
The install works fine up until the point where the Intel HD drivers are installed and this then causes the pc to BSOD with and IRQ is not equal error. (I will add the dump files shortly)
Has anyone experienced this with these machines?

    Hi:
I have seen instances on other HP business desktop PC's where this happens when you install W7 (non SP1), and then try to install the drivers before updating W7 to SP1.
If this is what you did, the solution is to install W7, update it to SP1 before installing any drivers and that should work.
If this is not your situation, then I would try the Intel HD video driver directly from Intel.

  • Downgraded Win8.1 to Win7 and now need help to find drivers

So I didn't like Windows 8.1 and downgraded to Windows 7 64-bit SP1, formatting all the drives in the process. Now I don't have some drivers and I'm not sure which ones to download since there are like 2 indentical types of drivers for everything on the page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-g000-notebook-pc-series/6545564/model/7234521
In Device Manager there are 6 things with yellow !s
    Ethernet controller
    Network controller
    PCI Device
    PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller
    SM Bus controller
    Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
I'm not sure if I'm meant to provide the Device ID or Hardware IDs so please tell me to provide whichever ones.
And also some additional things that I think are related to drivers
Function buttons dont work so I can't change brightness while holding fn + f2/f3. Is that the HP System Event Utility Driver?
"The current video card may supoprt Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM)". Do I just the Graphics drivers on the page I put above? And which one? Or doesn't matter?
Also under System Information > Components > Display, is it meant to be generic llike 'Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" Is that what its meant to be or will they have the specific network adapters after I install some drivers?
Under Components > Modem, there is nothing there
Under Components > Ports > Serial, there is nothing there
Under Components > USB, it says 'Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller' rather than something more speciifc.
I'm comparing these to my other laptop which has pretty specific things written under those sections so I'm assuming they're to do with the drivers right? I just threw these here in case theres more underlying issues.
Also how would I go about installing these drivers since the USB ports dont work? Putting the drivers on a CD?
I would really appreciate any help provided because without these, my laptop is basically unusable. Thank you so much.

    Hi:
Yes, you can burn the files to a CD and use those to install the drivers you need.
You need to install the AMD Chipset and USB 3 drivers which are not on your notebook's support page.
    http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=cp_117181_1
Download and install both of these drivers for the usb...
    http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=6943835&swItemId=ob_139250_1&swEnvOid=40...
    http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=6943835&swItemId=ob_133037_1&swEnvOid=40...
    Reboot after each installation.
PCI E/D Controller:  Not on your notebook's support page.
Run this file and then manually install the driver.
    http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=vc_133833_1
To manually install the driver, go to the device manager and click on the PCI E/D Controller needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab, click on update driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp66974.   Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.  Then reboot.
    Ethernet Controller:
Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver
    File name: sp69625.exe
    PCI Device:
    Realtek Card Reader Driver
    File name: sp69619.exe
I don't know what model wireless card your model uses, so if you still need the wireless card driver (Network Controller), please do the following steps so I can figure that out and then I will post the link to the wireless card driver you need...
To find the hardware ID, go to the device manager and click on the device labeled Network Controller.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the second item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.

  • Downgrading HP 2000-2c29W from Win8 to Win7

I know I need to reformat the drive before installing Win7.  What else do I need to know for a problem-free install on this model?
    Thanks.
    This question was solved.

    You are correct.
I believe the entire drive has to be formatted in MBR-NTFS, and once you install W7, the recovery partition is useless anyway.
So, if you made the set of W8 recovery disks when you first got the notebook, you could use those to restore the drive to its 'out of the box' condition.
Or you can order a set online from HP.  Ordering recovery disks can be found on the W8 x64 driver support page for your model.

  • Drivers needed for win8 to win7 downgrade.

I recently purchased a 15-F010WM preloaded with Windows 8.  I run a diagnostic program that is only supported on Windows 7.  Im looking for several drivers to make the downgrade possible ie. graphics, usb hub, network controller. Are there other compatible drivers??? I contacted HP tech support over the phone and was absolutely disgusted by the "support" I received.

    Hi:
You should be able to use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software (except the BIOS and firmware files) from the HP 250 G2.

    Hi,
I can't find all windows 7 drivers for my new laptop. Where can i download them all ?
    Manu thanks

Hi: Here is the link to the W7 x64 driver page for your notebook.  It has a very incomplete list of W7 x64 drivers. http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-15-k200-notebook-pc-touch/7630375/model/7728992 For whatever is missing from that page, you should be able to use the W7 x64 drivers and software from this model on yours.  Do not use any of the BIOS or firmware files from this model on yours. http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-15-k100-notebook-pc/7234894/model/7468081

I want to degrade from windows8 to windows7 .... but i m having a hard time installing the graphics driver as this laptop has a dual graphics. Kindly help me with the drivers.

What is the installed graphics module?   If it is one of those in the following list:
    AMD Radeon HD 7670M
    AMD Radeon HD 7520G
AMD Radeon HD 7660G + 7670M Dual Graphics
AMD Radeon HD 7640G + 7670M Dual Graphics
Then you can use the switchable graphics driver from the  g6-2005ax notebook.  It has the same chipset on the systemboard as yours and that will make it compatible.  The direct link is the following URL

  • HP 2000 - 2c12NR: Removed Win8, Installed Win7 64-bit; Touchpad Problems

    Greetings HP forums!
My name is Bob and I am having an issue with an HP 2000 laptop.  A friend requested I remove Windows 8 from a laptop, and install Windows 7 since he was much more familiar with the old GUI.
I installed Win7 64-bit and am having issues with the touchpad consistently working correctly.  I have let Windows use its generic drivers, and have installed the Win8 Synaptics touch pad driver/utility.  Both drivers produce the same problematic results.  The strange issues I am having are as follows:
    - Touchpad works fine for 5-30 minutes
    - Touchpad becomes inoperable for varying amounts of time; 1-5 minutes
    - Touchpad starts working again, but requires higher than normal pressure to work OR only works on the RIGHT side of the touchpad
    - Touchpad stops working again, and then after swirling/twirling my finger around the touchpad it will start moving itself without any further input to the Touchpad at all.  Everytime it starts moving on its own, it exhibits the same behavior.  It moves only vertically, in  a perfectly straight line, roughly 2/3 the heighth of the screen, and is very choppy skipping up and down; This lasts for 10-30 seconds.
    - After it's done 'ghosting' the cursor up and down, the Touchpad is usable again, but is very finnicky.  It requires excessive pressure or response is very laggy/inaccurate to the touch you are inputting.
    - Typically after a reboot it works perfectly fine for a short amount of time, and then starts acting as I have described above.
I have tried altering any and all of the settings in the Synaptics driver utility to no avail.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled, enabled/disabled the hardware/drivers numerous times.  Each time either drivers are removed and installed it will work fine for a short amount of time and then go back to acting crazy.
I thought the ribbon cable may have been loose, so I opened the laptop up far enough to check the ribbon cable for the Touchpad.  All was well, everything was snug.
At this point I am thinking there is an issue with the Touchpad itself.  While I am waiting for a reply I am going to try reinstalling Win7 since I have exhausted all other ideas I have.
Any and all information is greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Bob Melchert
    ChicagoLand Geeks
    *EDIT*
I just started the process to re-install Windows.  Once files were finished loading and the initial install screen had loaded, (where you select Language, Time/Currency Format, and Keyboard input method) the Touchpad immediately started moving vertically on itss own.  Once it stopped moving on its own, I am only able to move the cursor vertically in the spot where it was moving itself; Any input to the Touchpad only allows vertical movement.  This is the first time I have encountered this issue.  Since this is happening with Windows loaded into RAM, I am becoming more certain this is a hardware issue.

    Hello disgrntld,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand there is no audio coming from the computer. Before anything else, I would suggest a manual uninstall and reinstall of the sound driver:
    1. Go into Device Manager, then "Sound, video and game controllers".
    2. Look for the Audio driver. Right-click on it and select "Uninstall". Do not restart the computer.
    3. Restart the computer. It will force the computer to detect the hardware and install an appropriate driver.
Please let me know your results. Thanks!

  • Betreff: T440s - Only 1024x768 on external monitor (DVI, Ultra Dock, Win8.1/Win7)

EDIT NOTE: This message was moved to the top of the thread in order to assist us with an escalation. For all future post and commments please continue posting in this thread.
One more victim here.  T440s (fully patched, UltraDock, lid closed, external TrackPoint keyboard), Win8.1 (fully patched), HDMI, Acer T232HL touchscreen monitor.
Volcomtx85's posting (over 50% failure rate in a corporate setting) should warrant some attention.
Since there is a mix of Win7, Win8 and Win8.1 in the thread (presumably with different drivers), and different modes of monitor connectivity, the two points of commonality in the reports would seem to be BIOS and motherboard hardware.  If so, let's hope it's the BIOS.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello,
I have a T440s sitting in the Ultra Dock and a Samsung 2343bw hooked up by DVI.
On both Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 I can only set the resolution of the external screen to 1024x768. When I select  a higher resolution, both internal and external monitor go black for a couple of seconds and when the desktop comes back it's still 1024x768 on the external monitor. I tried the following three drivers:
    1) Deinstall display driver manually and let Win 8.1 pick a driver automatically, version 10.18.10.3318 (03-Oct-2013) gets installed. With this driver, both displays can be set to their native resolution. Unfortunately, the external display goes black once in a while and switches back on after 3 sec. The monitor itself is unlikely to be faulty, since it works well on my T400(+Dock).
    2) Install driver from Lenovo driver matrix, you'll get 10.18.10.3282. With this driver, the external monitor only displays 1024x768 as described above.
    3) Get the driver for HD 4400 from Intel website. It doesn't install voluntarily, but there is a workaround: http://www.intel.com/support/graphic...hd+4400+driver
I tried it and only get 1024x768 on the external display, just as with driver (2). If I connect the monitor by VGA, I get the blinking-error described in (1).
Hence, the external monitor is not usable, what is highly unsatisfying.
Can anyone confirm the Issue/problem? Is there a solution?
    thanks,
    niclas
    PS:
    - Bios of T440s is updated
    - I installed the monitor driver from Samsung
    - (1) is not an option in Win 7, only on Win8.1, since Win 7 doesn't find any driver for this card
    - I am happy to provide further information when needed
    - Edit: The screen works finde (DVI&VGA) on my T400 with dock.
    - Edit: If I connect the screen via VGA, no
