Downgraded windows 8 need bios for windows 7
i have the hp envy h8-1569 pc, came ithe windows 8. i had to downgrade it to windows 7 pro x64. all is working well, but i am wondering do i downgrade the bios to win 7 or leave it alone?

As this is a consumer class PC, I don't believe that HP will release any bios update for Windows 7 - if everything is working well, then there's no need anyway.

Windows Update keeps prompting to install an important update, KB2871690 and continually fails with error code 0x800f922
I ran all the fixes I can find, it still fails.
I also tried the manual install, fails.
Microsoft used to provide no charge support for Windows Update issues. They additionally offer online fixes for other versions of windows, but not server, and I can't find a forum.
I also cannot ignore the update, it continually prompts.
I ran the windowsupdate.diagcab and it continually states it fixes Windows Update error 0x80070057, by resetting windows update data store. It further states it fixes Problems installing recent updates.
But it doesn't. I've run it 50 times, and it says the same thing every time.
So there is no support for windows update, and no support for windowsupdate.diagcab.
What's the deal?I've done the SFC/ SCANNOW and DISM

HP G62 -Windows 10 "this version of Windows not available for Windows 10 app"
I'm trying to schedule the Windows 10 upgrade and receive the message "this version of Windows not available for Windows 10 app". I have Win7 SP3, enough memory, everything else it says it requires. the only thing I can't verify is the graphics driver. What might the problem be?
I am using a HP G62a50sg ( APU ATI HD4250 Mobility and ATI HD 5470 Mobility ) . The Windows 10 Update showed that there were no compatabilty problems and I did the upgrade. Everything works fine only the graphics are the problem. I have installed Windows 10 64 bit (Clean) around 5 times and tried all the drivers starting from Windows 7 , Windows 8 ,orginal Notbook drivers von HP and also from AMD ( CC 15.7 Mobility) . Nothing seems to work. Windows 10 reconizes the graphics but doesn`t support the switchable graphic funktion. I think it is an issue with the APU HD4250 Mobility and the Chipset. The desktop has only the 1024 X 768 option and in the graphics manager ( desktop) shows the Graphics as Basic Microsoft Display Driver. I am still trying but I am running out of ideas.

Satellite A200-1DN - How to update BIOS for Windows 7
I'm running 32bit Windows 7 on a Satellite A200 1DN. I've been having battery problems (plugged in, not charging) and I understand I need to update my BIOS. However I can't find a BIOS update for Windows 7, only Vista and XP.
Can anyone help? Should I update with the Vista BIOS? Are there any other options for solving this battery problem? I've already tried an ATX reset, and uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

IanTheoretically, you can install Windows Vista to update Bios and return Win 7, then. Before doing, try this:
Unplug the computer from the AC adapter and turn it on. Let the computer run under battery power until the computer turns off
Remove the battery pack. Using a soft cloth, wipe off the battery packs connectors and the AC adapters connectors.
Re-insert the battery pack and plug the computer into the AC adapter

BIOS for windows 7 ASUS P5BW-LA BASSWOOD HP Compaq 775 MotherBoard
I am building a new computer with a (HP/Compaq name: Basswood-UL8E ) P5BW-LA (Basswood) motherboard , CPU/Processor Socket: 775, chipset Intel P965 with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6x00 with Dual Core technology (Conroe) installed on motherboard. I am new to this and need help in finding the latest BIOS for a 32 bit system running windows 7 Ultimate. (Hopefully) I have no idea where to start.
I have the motherboard and put the conroe intel chip in as well as the heatsink fan also a 600 watt power supply and 8 GB kingston 240 pin DDR DIMM x4 @ 2 Gb each. As specified on the data sheet for the motherboard.
How do I find the right BIOS for the above as well as how to install all from scratch.
Any help would be highly appreciated

P.S What is: Two additional PCI when using an optional PCI extender card. and what do I ask for to get a PCI to a PCI x16 into the extention socket.BIOS is cross platform firmware. The downside of using the mobo is that there is no newer BIOS than the original one under Windows XP. That motherboard was installed in the HP Pavilion d4600y and is a good source for reference information.
Download the chipset software for Windows 7 32-bit from Intel. That will be your only option as there is no Windows 7 support for the P5BW-LA BASSWOOD motherboard at HP.
Use the chipset identification software from Intel Your motherboard has the Intel P965 chipset. The disk controller chip(?) and the audio chip (Realtek ALC885). The southbridge chip is the Intel ICH8DH. The LAN solution is the Intel 82562V chip.

I have tried for hours to find the original BIOS for the DV6-2018AX (windows vista 32bit) with no luck. I know there is no BIOS update... I am not interested in that, just the bios it came out of the factory with. If anyone could help me I would be much appreciated. This is for a USB flash... Do we need CALS for windows server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 if 2008 R2 is just a stepping stone?
We currently have a server on Windows Server 2008 RC SP2 64-bit with approximately 20 clients.
We want to upgrade to Windows server 2012 R2 but first need to upgrade to Windows 2008 R2 to allow us to do a straight upgrade.
Is it possible to upgrade to Windows Server 2008 R2 with the 5 CAL's included and then upgradeto 2012 R2 and install 20 new CAL's and keep all users accounts and domain PC's the same?Ok sorry for using the wrong terminology... I was under the impression for each client (Computer) connecting to the server we will need a CAL (Client Activation License) in order for the computer to be a domain PC on the server. Do I need 20 CALS's

For WindowsServer (Standard edition or Enterprise edition or DataCenter edition), a Client Access License (CAL) is required for each device (if you're using the per-Device CAL licensing method), or, is required for each user (if you're using the per-User
CAL licensing method).
(whether you use per-Device, or per-User, is up to you, it comes down to cost).
CALs are version-specific (to a point) - i.e. if you purchased WS2008 CALs for your 20 devices, for use with your WS2008 server, and you are now upgrading that server to WS2012, you need to upgrade your CALs.
If you are adding a second server which is WS2012, and you are keeping your WS2008 server, you need to upgrade your CALs (because you only purchased WS2008 CALs which don't grant you the rights to connect to the newer server).
If you were to install your second server as WS2008, you wouldn't need to purchase additional CALs, because as long as the version is the same, a single CAL grant you access to unlimited server (of the same version).
CALs can be tricky to correctly license.

Windows Server CALs are not license keys/tokens/files which you install/load/download - Windows Server CALs are quite literally paper-based (just like a drivers license or car registration). You are required to have them, to be correctly licensed, but, you
don't physically do anything with them to own/drive a car.

Satellite A300D-126 - Need drivers for Windows 7
Hello everyone.
We have two problems with two drivers so:
Display driver 8.634.1 - don't work zoom settings. New Catalyst 9.11 does not help me.
Sound Driver 4.98.6.61 - failed instaled.
I installed display driver for Vista and sound for XP but I think I need an update because videocard with this 8.452.2-080130a-059298C driver working so slowly .
What to do ?

First of all you cant use Windows XP drivers on Windows 7. This will not work.
You wrote about different drivers for Vista and XP Ok, the most Vista drivers are also work on Windows 7 but Satellite A300D is Windows 7 supported. That means you can already get Windows 7 drivers on the Toshiba page:

Updating G50-80 BIOS for Windows 10 64-bit
I have recently bought a G50-80 80E501LRIN model and I upgraded my OS from Windows 8.1 64-bit to Windows 10 64-bit. I want to update my BIOS to the latest version and have struck upon this link: http://support.lenovo.com/in/hi/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/g50-80/downloads/DS102231 . Support for Windows 10 64-bit isn't mentioned anywhere on the page. But I've also noticed that softwares for Windows 8.1 64-bit work flawlessly in Windows 10 64-bit. Should I update my BIOS with this one or wait for a Windows 10 one specifically?
Disregard. I found that if you go into the BIOS, disable Wireless, boot up, shut down, boot into Bios, re-enable Wireless and boot back up, it solved the bluetooth issue.

Satelitte A110-180 - Update Bios for Windows 7 and Linux
Hello,
I want to change the following settings in my bios on my laptop Satelitte A110-180
* AHCI for SATA
* Disable IDE
But there are no such options.
So I thought maybe I have to update my bios.
I found the download page, but there are 2 options: Windows Vista or NOT Windows vista, but I want to dual boot windows 7 and linux.
Wich one I have to download, or is there an other option to change the settings?

Satellite A110 does not support such options (SATA AHCI).
The BIOS update will not help you!
Linux is not supported and therefore you will not find any special BIOS for Linux OS!
The both BIOS updates are for Win Vista or OS independent.
Therefore if you are using OS other as Vista then you should take the OS independent BIOS update!
But like mentioned above; both options will not appear after BIOS update! -

I think this is depending on your notebook Which one you have exactly?
On the Toshiba website I can different versions for the notebook, like one for 32bit OS and other one for 64bit OS. So I think thats the only difference because I dont see a special BIOS only for Windows 7.
