Downgrading from Win 7 64 bit to 32 bit

I know it's odd, but I have programs that won't run in 64 bit windows 7 but work fine in 32 bit win 7.
I have a G570 (4334) (64 bit win 7) and would love to download or get Lenovo disks for the 32 bit windows 7.

Looks to be the spot to create such a disk? As I would like to do a clean install of the 32 bit version with the Lenovo drivers and such. I don't know if that will create a disk or not. Nor do I see anyway to order such a disk.
OR could I use my old OEM disk 32 bit win 7 from my old computer and the key from the G570?
I have three computers and three Win7 keys, one for Win 7 64 bit professional, one for Win 7 Home Premium, and the one on the laptop for home premium 64 bit. I know the Home Premium doesn't care if it's 32 or 64 bit.
My laptop is brand new. I've only tried to install my most critical program and it chokes on 64 bit win 7 (it doesn't like XP Mode on my Win 7 64 bit Professional either, but runs beautifully on my 32 bit win 7 machine -- but that one is going to be leaving the state when I give it to my daughter). Anyway, formatting the drive is of no concern to me as nothing critical is on it. Suggestions? Links?

Can I ask what the program is that will not run in the 64-bit version of Windows 7?
It is pretty rare to see a program that runs in the 32-bit version and not the 64-bit. Usually it's tied to something like the program installing 32-bit device driver, or having some 16-bit (e.g., Windows 3.1-era) code in it, neither of which are supported in the 64-bit version of Windows 7.
If it's not something like the above two scenarios, than perhaps by finding out more about the program we can find a way to make it work without having to go through the inconvenience of reloading the operating system.

my x201 think pad came with xp pro as a downgrade from win 7 pro, and recovery disks for win 7.
when i attempted to upgrade to win 7, i forgot to save my xp documents. lenovo premium support tried to recover my word, excel and pdf documents, but could not.
i'm not comfortable with win 7, and would like to downgrade to xp pro, sp 3.

If you didn't create Win XP's recovery discs, then you would need to order them from lenovo, whether you're upgrading or downgrading it's always recommended to create recovery discs through ThinkVantage of your previous OS.

I'm not sure if you are asking if you can or telling us you are doing it, either way if you can you may need to get the media from Lenovo, or stick with 8 and wait a month then get yourself Windows 10

i have a question. My model is L555 -11L PSLWSE it came with winsdows 7 x64. I will like to switch it back to 32 bit. I have windows 7 OS n other language. but i am not sure if i do this, i will be able to have all the utilities and drivers that came with the factory settings. Unable To Sync After Migrating From Win XP(32 bit) to Win 7(64bit)

I received a new PC, dual core platform, for XMAS. However, I received a Com 1 port failure when performing a Hot Synch to upload my PD(,M500) data to Palm Desktop on the new PC. Palm tech support said there is no USB driver available for the 64 bit OS. Does anyone have a 3rd party USB driver, or any other suggestions to allow me to do a Hot Synch on my new PC.

Try to use Windows XP SP2/3 compatibility mode first, see if it works for you. And use Alchemy for the Audigy 2 ZS, FS2004 is making use of Directsound after all. Read the guide for using Alchemy here and here. Download Creative Alchemy here.

Any way to downgrade from 64bit to 32 bit Vista OS

Is there any option to downgrade 64bit machine to 32 bit vista OS...Most of the application is not working with 64bit and Its hard to keep purchasing all softwares for 64bit machine...

There are simpler VPN apps than Citrix, Hamachi for example. The compatibility mode is simply a case of right clicking the executable, going to the compatibility tab and setting the options. I've got a feeling the only thing you'll need to do is set the privilege level to Run as administrator. It's nothing to do with 64bit anything.

Ok, so I've tried my best. I realise there are a few nice things about Win8 but like a ginger stepchild I just can't accept it as part of my life. I've had the laptop for 6 months now and regardless of changes I make I just keep on coming back to the fact I am trying to force Win 8 into the way Win 7 works which is daft when Win 7 is available. The only real reason I have held back is that Win 8 was the pre-installed OS (Toshiba should really review that decision, it's a horrible OS for anything other than casual tablet use and effectively cripples their hardware). However the time has come, I simply can't continue. Win7 must return to the throne.
Going Forward:
Anyway, preamble aside, I have a couple of questions regarding the "downgrade". First off I have used the Toshiba 'Recovery Media Creator' to create the backup disks (which I presume return the laptop to the "out of the box" state) and backed up any important data. I have Windows 7 on a bootable USB stick (A legal copy too - oh, how decadent!).
I believe I need to set the _Secure Boot_ to *Disabled* and the _Boot Mode_ to *CSM Boot* in order for my bootable USB stick to be detected. I have read several pages about this and some suggest I will need some sort of SATA drivers on the stick too. Can someone confirm is this is true or not? If it is true, where do I get them from (URL if poss?) and where do I put them on the stick (root? Will it ask for a location?).
In terms of installation, it's just the standard Win 7 install, albeit you need to delete all the partitions on the HDD to remove the GPT legacy stuff, right? Once the Secure Boot/UEFI malarkey is gone it's just a standard laptop - or am I fooling myself?
What next:
YOU! I NEED YOU! In a Kitchener fashion (if you don't know what I mean, google Kitchener), I need you to tell me if I am being an idiot. Not about the "downgrade" as that is possibly the most intelligent thing I will do with this laptop - Win 8 is so frustratingly awkward that I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't the first Operating System diagnosed with a personality disorder - the thing I need people to tell me is whether I have missed anything out on my "return of zen" checklist. Is it really just BIOS, USB boot (with SATA drivers?), delete partition(s), create new unified partition then finally install the new OS? Does that all sound about right or am I going to be stuck half way through only to find I've forgotten to change someting leaving my laptop fubar'ed?

Win 7 over Win 8, need assistance.

Thanks for anyone replying. Power to your, em... well whatever you want power to (except there you dirty bunny!).

I've given Win8 all the chances in the world, but as MS seem determined to annoy developers by hiding the simplest of stuff behind 3 layers of s**t while at the same time lifting their skirt to tablets and mobile devices then I honestly don't see the point in continuing to fight what is a badly misjudged and poorly implemented mish mash of 7 and 8 when 7 is considerably better for developers.
People might like 8, I'm not knocking them, but I've been using operating systems since the early 80's (yes, sadly, I am that old) and very few have been as frustrating as 8 - it's not that it can't do the stuff I want, it's that it's hidden away making the whole experience disappointing and time consuming.
So, that aside, I can confirm that I am now on Win 7, although it was not without it's temporary problems. Let me explain...
I made a backup, switched UEFI off and put a USB key containing windows install into the machine. All is as normal, booting up hitting the setup, selecting the install location until I am greeted with a drive that has maybe 4 partitions on it, one of them being the Toshiba backup the rest being Win 8 and the UEFI/secure boot malarkey.
I deleted all the partitions except the backup one with the assumption I could then create a new partition and format it. Windows install was happy about removing partitions but it really didn't like creating new ones and formatting them. This left me in a state where I could boot from USB but I had no partitions on the machine (except the non-bootable backup).
So next step was to try and figure out what was going on. Sadly it's a 2 1/2" HD in the laptop so I couldn't just take it out and piggy back onto my desktop PC (3 1/2") instead I downloaded a copy of ubuntu, stuck it onto my stick, booted up from the USB and used gpart to view the partitions and to format them.
Bit annoying having to download a full OS just to get a HD partition tool and I am sure more Linux savvy people could knock up a bootable stick with just gpart on it, but still my sledgehammer/nut solution was exactly that, a solution.
So, Win 7 installer onto the stick again and away we go.. Now I can't remember if I formatted the drive as NTFS or FAT32 from ubuntu however now that the drive was partitioned and active then the Windows installer had no problems about reformatting (an empty) partition to match the format it needs. From there it was just a standard Win install.
Finally I downloaded the relevant drivers from this site and applied them. No SATA drivers were needed while installing Win7 but perhaps if they were present I wouldn't have needed to do the round about step of using Ubuntu to format/partition the drive. Either way, it's working now.
As for Win 8? A failed experiment in the same way Vista was and, like Vista to Win 7, I expect Win 9 to be to an improved Win 8.
Generally MS creates good OS's every second iteration. Win ME (bad), Win XP (good), Vista (bad), 7 (good), 8 (bad), 9 (? - we will see).

Problems with downgrade from Win 8.1 to Win 7 64bit on Satellite S70-A-11H

My daughter already has a Tosh laptop with Win 7 64bit which is several years old and has seen better days, so for Christmas I bought her a new S70-A-11H notebook with Win 8.1 pre-installed.
She hates it. In fact she will not use the new laptop at all unless it has Win 7 on it.
For people that do not use a tablet or a Windows phone and like a desktop feeling machine Windows 8 does not work for us.
Now I work in a niche IT role using numerous OS such as Microsoft Windows (XP, Win7, Server 2003, Server 2008) and Solaris as well as a bit of RedHat.
Now my Win8 experience is zero.
I thought it would be simple enough to install a retail copy of Win7 with SP1 64bit onto this notebook.
Not so easy as it turns out.
When I boot from the Win 7 install DVD the installer program locks up as the Win 7 logo starts to appear on the screen. If I try an install in safe mode the last driver that appears to load when the lock up occurs is disk.sys.
So the question is how can I install Win 7 64bit SP1 onto this notebook using a retail copy of Win7?
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

*I found the reason for this problem* and the solution outside of this forum.
If anyone else is interested _the issue is cause by the use of GPT partions on the 8.1 build._
To overcome this and install a fresh copy of Win7 you can do this:
-Shut down Windows 8 while pressing the Shift key to completely power off.
-Power on and press F2 while the Toshiba logo is displayed to enter the UEFI Setup Menu.
-Go to the Security tab and set the "Secure Boot" setting to "Disabled".
-Go to the Advanced tab, enter "System Configuration" and set the Boot Mode to "CSM Boot."
-Press F10 to save and exit.
Go to http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ and download gparted boot image. Make bootable gparted cd and use it to delete the GPT partitions on the HDD.
Now just install Win7 64bit as you normally would creating whatever partitions you like during the install process. Of course you must have a new licence key for Win7 for this to work.
To finish off you will need to download all the required drivers from the Toshiba website to suit Win7 64bit. This is quite tedious as some of the files are huge. I got just the basics that I thought I'd need and that ended up being over 1Gb of files.
I'm so pleased I managed to get rid of that nasty Win8 interface.
This is probably not the only way to do this, but this worked for me.

Cannot print from Win 7 64 bit

I have a HP 2015 hooked up to a PC running Windows 7 Prof (64-bit). After installing Windows 7, I installed the latest 64-bit drivers from HP. Installation went fine and a test page was printed. The printer is set as the default printer and it printed fine.
After a while when attempting to print it will not print, nothing happens and the program I try to print from locks up. The program will show the document being prepared for printing but nothing at all appears in the print queue and the printer sits idle. I can still go in and print a test page directly from the printer.
The only way to fix it is to restart the computer, restarting the Spooler does not help.

I have just recently upgraded from a 32 bit win vista OS. I have a Officejet j6450 and the problem I experienced was the printing from internet articles was so tiny I needed a 7ft. magnifying glass to read it comfortably. I downloaded hp web smart and used it for the first time and the difference was very good. Now I am only wearing my computer glasses for the read instead of the mag. glass. I wish I could adjust the font size in the HP web smart program though. Good luck with the problem you are having.

You can try these Windows 7 64 bit drivers - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU&selCategory=2&selFamily=2&selS...
When you go to that page you can narrow your search down by going to the -Short Model No and put yours in there.
Install the chipset drivers then the video drivers before the rest of the drivers and install the Toshiba Value added package before the other Toshiba applications.

Hello... I had saved system information file prior to downgrading to Win7 from Win8 so I knew it had Radeon 8210, i downloaded its driver from http://www.amd-drivers.com/amd-driver-download.html as there was none in the support page, it did install correctly but whenever the pc shuts down or starts, display becomes a little messy with lines but then it gets alright again... how to sort it out?? Secondly, I didn't find any USB 3.0 drivers in the support page either so how do i make them work?? Windows 7 detects sound device by itself so shoud i now install sound drivers or not?? Tecra A11 Recovery to XP Downgrade from Win 7

Unfortunately, due to a tenacious rootkit, I need to do a factory restore. The recovery partition is intact, and I have made recovery DVDs. Out of the box, it was set up with XP Pro downgrade, which is what I want rather than Win 7. Before I start, what is the procedure to restore to XP Pro, not Win 7? The model is Tecra A11-S3520.

Since that model comes with Windows XP installed, it's fair to assume both the recovery partition and the recovery discs you burned will restore the hard disk to that same package.

I have my Toshiba U940 bougth in Spain with Win8 pre-installation but some drivers dont work fine and I want to donwgrade to win7.
I have tried all the steps I read here:
1) Changed BIOS to CSM mode.
2) Download SATA drivers from http://en.file-upload.net/download-7845182/SATA.zip.html.
3) Run the Win7 CD installation until the device is not found.
Then, I load the 64b SATA drivers and it doesnt work with a message (spanish message) saying "It is not possible to install this driver...".
Any ideas? Something I can forget?
