i just want to download 64 bit itunes for windows 7 home computer.
the problem is not the download but where to install the itunes download ?. a message appears
requesting a file or program identity ''''itunes 64.msi to download itunes 64. this file/program is not on my computer
the message also staes that program. owner\appdata\local\applew\applesoftware.update\ is not a network program so
cannot be downloaded ? i have a home computer which is not on any network. any ideas.

Any standard browser ought to be able to download an iTunes installer. (If one doesn't seem to be working on one system, a standard troubleshooting measure is to try the download using a different browser.)

Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

Cannot download, delete or update my itunes. I'm missing bonjour.msi. There has to be a way to fix this without purchasing those fixit programs or rebooting my whole system.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

I have always had and used the same Apple ID. I have changed credit card information on my Apple ID account several times though. Does that make a difference when downloading past purchases? I'm very angry at Apple and Itunes because I have been using itunes since 05/2005 and I do not have even close to the amount of songs and albums that I have purchased from itunes. If the credit card info does make a difference even though the account is the same one then itunes needs to make sure to notify users of this because I am not the only one who is wondering this same thing. It should not make a difference. $12 is $12. Especially since I have ALWAYS used the same account. If itunes does not change their ways, I will not be purchasing songs or anything else for that matter from them ever again. There should be no issues. Its designed to work like that. You don't change Apple IDs just because you get a new device.

If you buy an App, you have 2 ways to get it to the iPhone6: If Automatic Downloads is enabled in Settings->iTunes & App Store, it will automatically download to the iPhone 6 when you buy it on the 5 and vice versa if you buy it on the 6, it will download to the 5.
Alternatively, you can simply go to the App Store App->Updates->Purchased and look for the App there and download it. Purchased Apps will not require payment again. i.e They'll be free to download to the iPhone 6 once purchased.

If you want the Continuity features as explained above you need to update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8. Otherwise its not all that important.

When the iPhone is selected in iTunes, the Sync button should be located at the bottom right of the screen, directly to the right of the bar showing the space used on the device. Though the image is dark, you can see it in the screen image of the following document under the "USB syncing" section:

I had the same problem and managed to fix it by doing the following :
First go to the control panel
Choose Add/Remove programs
Find iTunes in the list
Select "Change" and then, when it comes up with the option, "Repair"
I found that this fixed the problem for me and I was able to do the update without coming up with this error - hope it helps!
