Download a document to browser

Hello,
i want to download a document using "wpg_docload.download_file", but everytime i call the function, the image will not displayed.
Can someone help me ?

Is there some way of getting adobe to work without having to download a document first, then adobe will show the pages.

I am trying to find out what I can do, to get adobe to open up a pdf file so that I can read all pages, without having to download the document first. I get the first page only; then I download and have access to all pages. Then I delete. Seems like such a long process. Is there another way? Do I need to download a different adobe?

How are you seeing your document on iCloud from your laptop? Web browser, or OS X Pages open dialog?
If you have MS Word or .pages formatted files parked on iCloud, the web interface will not permit their download as PDF, and in fact, PDF is an inactive option in that download menu for these word processing files. There is no copy facility available, but duplicate functionality exists from the iWork category within the iCloud web presence.
If you have Pages v4.2 or later installed on your (assumption: Mac) laptop, launch Pages and in the open file dialog, select iCloud on the dialog toolbar. Now, press and hold the option key as you drag and drop a copy of our document from iCloud to your desktop. The reverse works also.
See if you can open that document on your laptop now.

Adobe Reader XI 11.0.06 and IE10 enhanced protected mode. Downloaded PDF documents do not open

I have Reader XI 11.0.06 installed with IE10. If I enable Enhanced Protected Mode via group policy, the plugin loads documents inside the browser window. However, if the site forces the browser to download the document, EPM blocks the Reader plugin. The address bar in IE shows that it is trying to load the PDF from the IE cache.
Is there a fix for this issue?

Having done some more research on this, I just can't see that the advertised support for enhanced protected mode actually exists. Anyone got it working?

Open Word document in Browser

I have created some document templates for Word, Excel and PowerPoint in office 365 sharepoint online and I have saved them on my desktop, I have created 3 content types as well and each content type is using associated template. I Can see all 3 options
when I click on "New" button in document library. When I click on new "word" document, my installed word application is launched.
Can I open new word document in office web app in browser? All templates are developed in office web app and I have downloaded them on my desktop. I have tried all 3 options in document library to open document in browser but still unable to open document in
browser.

Set the OpenInClient feature for site collections
In the SharePoint site collection, choose the Settings icon > Site Settings.
On the Site Settings page, under Site Collection Administration, choose Site Collection Features.
On the Features page, for the Open Documents in Client Applications by Default feature, choose Activate to enable
the OpenInClient feature (documents will open in the client application), or Deactivate to disable the OpenInClient feature (documents will open in the browser).

That feature is already de-activated, I tried from home computer and it is working as expected but on my work computer I am having this issue.

Yes. If you want the pdf file to download immediately when the link is selected and not be displayed in the browser, zip/compress the pdf file (Control (right)-Click on the pdf file and select Compress from the contextual menu) and link to it in the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane witn the Link To: A File option.
A second option is to zip the pdf file and upload it manually to your website server. Then link to it in the same preference pane but use An External Page option. The URL would be http://URL TO FILE ON SERVER/File _Name.pdf.zip

Why can't I see the download in the adjacent browser?

I'm working in on a website and when I click to download the document from this website it says document is loading in adjacent browser window, however the window never opens, the document isn't in my downloads nor can I swipe to the next window to see it there.

Here's what I did to see them
-Added a line shape
-Dropped Light Steak 3 style on the line layer in the layer list.
-Selected the line and in the inspector, went to Shape>Stroke>Color over stroke.
-Selected the first color tag in the gradient.
-At the far right side of the color parameter, clicked the downward facing arrow and selected "Show in Keyframe Editor" option.
The keyframes show up in the keyframe editor. Repeat for each color or opacity tag as needed.

It won't. Explorer will go there, but Firefox won't. I don't want to open an extra document. I want to visit the site in my browser.

Firefox can't handle MS Office documents and you will have to open such a file in an external Office program of viewer.

I am trying to create a download of pdf or other documents from the web site I am creating. I would appreciate very much receiving some help how this is done.

Hi Jon, I follow what you are saying in principal. Are you aware of any tutorial or step by step process that I can follow.

It's pretty simple, you just create a link to the .pdf file and the viewer's computer will either display it in the browser (if they have the browser plug-in) or download it to their desktop.
1. Add the .pdf to your site
2. Highlight the text or image you want to use as a link to the .pdf
3. Add the location of the .pdf in the Link text box of the Properties inspector.
That's it.
You can't force a browser to open a .pdf and display it, but you can force it to download it by zipping the file first. The user would then have to unzip the file before they could see it.

Download Multiple Documents App from Solutions2Share

Hello, I have downloaded the 'Download Multiple Documents App' from Solutions2Share and installed it on several existing site collections on my SharePoint online office 365 tenant. It works without any problems on all sites on all site collections apart
from one....which is typically the site I need it to work most on.
When I try to download multiple documents from a document library from this site I get directed to the download multiple documents page and I see the app trying to download the documents but then get message ''Could not retrieve list:Forbidden''
This happens with every document library on the site. What is strange , when I do this on a document library on the top level site of the same site collection, i.e the default site that is created when creating a site collection - it works fine.
I've gone through all the site settings and site features and cannot see what would be causing this! I am the Site Administrator and am in the Site Owner/Members permissions groups for this site. Tried it with different browser too.

"Downloads" and "Documents" Stacks in the Dock 10.6 Snow Leopard

Is there a way to get the little blue folder icons that say "Downloads" and "Documents" to appear on the stacks in the dock instead of a thumbnail type icon of the first document or download in the stack? 10.6 Snow Leopard. The Apple Web page describing "Stacks" as a new part of Snow Leopard shows them.

Yes, right click (control click) on the icon and select Display as Folder.

Arching of files is gone from the downloads and documents folder

The arching list of files is gone when rolling over the downloads and documents folder. I removed the downloads folder by accident yesterday from the dock. Once I found it, I replaced it back on the dock and now the arching of files is gone on both folders. I have them as lists by date. I have restarted my MacBook Pro several times, clicked on the dock and properties and nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how to get it back? Are there any settings that I am missing?. Thanks!

Right click on the folder in the Dock (or hold down the Control key and click on it if you have a one-button mouse), and choose "Stack" under the "Display as" section, and "Fan" under the "View content as" section in the resultant contextual menu. You can also choose how they are sorted from this menu as well.

Visual Studio download a document from a document libary and upload it to a jaxrs webservice in java

I have created a custom ribbon action and a application page in visual studio. The user
presses my ribbon in sharepoint and it calls the application page that in turn downloads that file. here is the code:

To open a document you must have installed an Android application for it. The file is downloaded but can be opened with Firefox, but with the specific app from Android.
Try installing a documents app and for sure it will work.

How to print a downloaded color document in black or gray scale

I have Adobe Reader 9; Windows Vista Home Premium; HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless printer. I have downloaded a document that is pre-set to print in color. I want to print it in black or gray scale. I click on the printer icon for the printing pop up. When I click on the Properties bar to make the request for black or gray scale, nothing happens. What steps can I take to convert the pre-set color download to be printed in black or gray scale? Thanks!

I have only had the experience when I have downloaded a link from within an email to my Hotmail account when the download has already been set up in color. To date, I have not had that problem with Word. There are specifically two situations regarding two different monthly emailed newsletters. This is through Internet Explorer 8; Windows Vista Home Premium. (I will not use Internet Explorer 9. It causes blocks for routine procedures, especially involving my Hotmail account--such as not being able initially to download a normal attachment or, if downloaded, not being able to print a normal download attachment.) However, after I sent out my request for help, I switched to Mozilla Firefox and was able to print the "color" download in black right away because the Preferences bar responded as it should. (Through Internet Explorer 8, regarding this particular link/download/attachment, the printing pop up had a Properties bar. However, I am aware that, in some other pop up formats, there are both a Properties bar and a Preferences bar to choose from.) I have Mozilla Firefox as a backup because, sometimes, I have to resort to it to download email attachments (whether black or color) coming from the east coast when they will not download through Internet Explorer 8. (I am near the geographic center of the US.) Thank you for your interest in my concern. I will gladly accept any advice regarding being able to print an email attachment/link color download in black when using Internet Explorer 8! Does it depend on how the link attachment is set up or what the link attachment is??

Download iWork documents from iCloud to Mac in Pages 5.0 and Numbers 3.0

Does anyone know how to download iWork documents from iCloud to Mac, most specifically from Pages 5.0 and Numbers 3.0. It seems that Apple have taken away the ability to do so, as in the past I believe there was a download button... All I am trying to do is download the document to attach and send via Gmail.
Extremely frustrating as I can't find any discussion surrounding this problem.

Have you tried right-clicking the document to get an option to download it.
