Download a purchased copy of lion

One of my Macs is still on Snow Leopard because I have some projects in software that is not supported in the next versions of the operating system.
I purchased Lion quite some time ago, but never installed it. I clicked on the package and realized at the last minute that I'd better check that software. Glad I did, but now that I'm  ready to install it, as I work my way up to Mavericks. (As suggested by several sources so I don't lose information. My problem is I can't re-download Lion any more because it isn't available in downloads any more. Where can I get a copy?
Can I just move on to Mountain Lion without installing Lion first? I'd really prefer to make a bootable copy of each of these as I go along. Unfortunately it's too late for Lion since I opened the package when I first purchased it.

How and where do I get a redemption code? I just downloaded it when I bought it. Is that the same as a serial number?
Lion shows under my purchases in the app store, but when I hit download from there, it goes to a screen that says it's no longer available for download.

I am unable to download my copy of lion or moutain lion in order to upgrade my 2006 macbook!

What is exactly is the problem?
If you are signed into the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID that purchased them then they should be listed under the Purchases tab and be available for download unless they are already on the computer then it will say "Downloaded". In that case they will most likely be in your Applications folder. If not use Spotlight to find them.

  • Downloading my preexisting copy of Lion on MacBookAir

I own Lion. It came with my 2011 MacBook Air.
I therefore have the right to a copy of Lion, to e.g. install on other Machines owned by me.
However when I on the same Machine go to Mac App Store,
I find I am not able to download the OS (see Fig. 1).
I don’t even see it in my Purchases List (=„Einkaufe“).
The Solution People typically pose is:
“check out Purchases and it should be there” — Not in my Case.
“attempt to Purchase it and it will give you the Option to download it again.” — Not in my Experience.
How can I obtain a Copy of what I already own?
Figure 1. What I see in App Store, when Lion is searched for.

I am not positive that the license that came with the OS on your new computer allows you to install it on every computer you own.  If you purchased the OS through the App Store, then you might be allowed that.
In any case, you probably want the Lion USB Recovery app, which will allow you to build a USB boot stick to re-install Lion on your machine assuming the drive totally fails and you put in a replacement drive.  That would allow you to then install Lion on more machines.

  • Can't download my purchased copy of Elements 12

I purchased Photoshop Elements 12 on Dec 23, 2013. Adobe later offered an update to version 12.1.  I installed the update.
I just bought a new computer running Windows 7, and I would like to download and install the Photoshop Elements that I had purchased.
According to the Help in Photoshop Elements 12, I had to uninstall Photoshop Elements 12 on my old computer.  I did this.  During the uninstall a check box is supposed to appear that says something like "Deactivate product".  No such checkbox appeared during the uninstall.
I have signed in to my account on the Adobe website several times.  It lists my purchased copy of Elements 12 but will not allow me to download it to my new computer.
Not only will Adobe not allow phone tech support for Elements 12 owners, but they won't allow me to computer chat with support.
Is there any way to contact Adobe support?
How can I download and install my purchased copy of Photoshop Elements 12 onto my new computer?

Deactivate is for PSE11 and earlier. In PSE12 you use the Help> Sign Out menu. There should be nothing to stop you downloading the software as many times as you want, maybe it is a problem with the servers. Instead of downloading from your 'My Adobe A/c' download the trial instead - it is identical.
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements&loc=en
PSE12 allows you to install on as many computers as you have -  even dozens or hundreds. but only two can ever be signed in and activated at any one time.

  • I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and trying to install a purchased copy of Lion 10.7, to no avail. Apple Support doesn't seem to have a solution - help?

I purchased Lion 10.7 on Christmas Day, I received my redemption code a week later. I've tried to download Lion to no avail. I've been in contact with Apple Support and they haven't been much help so far. My computer is currently running Snow Leopart 10.6.8 - however, I received Photoshop Elements for Christmas and I need at least 10.7 in order to run the program. Nothing is working. Before commenting - I CANNOT install Mavericks because it'll mess up the versions of Filemaker Pro and Quicken that I use regularly. I tried installing Mountain Lion, at the suggestion of Apple Support but I need to be running at least 10.8 in order to install that. What do I do? I don't want to have to be pushed into buying another computer when this one works just fine - but I'd like to be able to run Photoshop Elements. Apple has charged my credit card for the purchase of Lion and yet it won't install and I don't know what to do now.

Quicken 2007 for Intel (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks) for $15:
    http://quicken.intuit.com/personal-finance-software/quicken-2007-osx-lion.jsp
It will input your Quicken PPC data file directly if it was Quicken 2005 through 2007.  If older you need Quicken 2006 or 2007 PPC first to convert your data file; and this update must be done BEFORE you upgrade to Mavericks:
    http://quicken.intuit.com/support/help/patching/quicken-2006-manual-updates--mac -/GEN82200.html
Filemaker Pro PPC (in this case 7) running in Snow Leopard Server installed into Parallels for use in Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks:
Snow Leopard Server: 1.800.MYAPPLE (1.800.692.7753) - Apple Part Number: MC588Z/A (telephone orders only)
This solution allows you to run your Photoshop Elements in Mavericks concurrently with Filemaker Pro PPC.  Mavericks is a free download.

  • Is it possible to download a copy of Lion after the purchase and the upgrade?

    Hello.
I purchased and installed Lion on my mac. Unfortunately, I was not so wise to keep a copy of the installation file.
Is it possible to download again Lion (without paying for it again, of course) and save it on, for instance, a USB (or a DVD)?
I need it to run disk utilities and to check disk permissions.
    Thank you.
    Andrea

Yes you can download again in order to Burn DVD or Flash drive.
AppStore>Hold option key while you click>Purchases in the toolbar> this will allow you to reinstall

  • I can't download previously purchased Mountain Lion in the App Store.

So after having some hard drive problems, I reinstalled 10.6 from the disk that came with my MBP, and I'm trying to upgrade again to my previously purchased copy of Mountain Lion (I'm realizing now that I probably went about this the wrong way...).
Anyway, I can't seem to be able to download Mountain Lion. It shows up in Purchases, and when I click Download, the button greys out for a second while the spinny thing spins, then the Download button goes back to normal and I don't see any indication that anything's downloading.
Here's what it looks like after I press the Download button:
I'd love any advice or feedback!
    Ryan

I had already installed the combo update, but after restarting and checking for updates, a security update became available, and after installing that, everything is working normally. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

  • I recently purchased a copy of Lion, will I be eligible for a free upgrade of Mountain Lion?

I recently purchased a copy of Lion, will I be eligible for a free upgrade of Mountain Lion?

    no, sorry.
However, Lion has some great features in and of itself!
you will have to purchase it for 20 dollars in the app store (USA price) to upgrade to ML, the redemption codes that you may be reacting to are for people who recently purchased a computer and were told that they would be able to receive a free download of ML when it is released to make sure their computers are up to date.
This allows apple to release the hardware before the latest software, but still offer the latest software for free, because they're cool like that .
    I hope this helps

    Hi...
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
