Download Adobe Reader to D: drive

My hard disk is partitioned into C: and D: and I would like to download Adobe Reader to D:. The download software didn't give me an option to input the location. Is it possible to download to a drive other than C:?

Nope.

  • How can I download Adobe Reader to an external hard drive to use on a machine not internet connected

I am trying to download Adobe Reader to my external 1Tb hard drive to use on a desk top that is not connected to the internet for security purposes. how can I choose which drive to save the download to?

I have the Windows link handy, ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi
For Mac (I haven't tested it), but the following link should work: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/10.x/10.1.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1010_en_US.dmg

  • We downloaded Adobe Reader XI and our PC no longer works properly.

We run Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3, and use Internet Explorer 8.  We once were running a Trend Micro AntiVirus that seemed capable of producing some issues, but we believe it to be disabled.  Before downloading Reader XI, we were able to easily use PDF files in many ways.  When there was a web site we were using that offered us a look at a document, such as a statement, or a blank state government report form, we could click on it, and the pdf would pop up in a window associated with Explorer, where we could view it, and then decide whether to print it.  We can no longer do that.  We still can use some pdf's, but not pdf's that are made available to us via the Internet in that fashion.  A few weeks ago, upon startup, we saw a message on our desktop that we ought to download the latest Adobe Reader. We downloaded Adobe Reader XI. The problem immediately started. We uninstalled Reader XI. We reinstalled. The problem persisted immediately upon reinstall.  In between the uninstall and reinstall, we looked at our system attempting to find an older version of Reader we could reinstall in preference to XI, but we saw nothing under our Control Panel Install/Uninstall programs, and so nothing on our hard drive.  Now, when we attempt to click on a "View" hyperlink on many websites, the pop up window, that would have at one time showed us the document or pdf file, pops up blank, turns dark gray, and stays inert for 2 or 3 minutes, followed by the appearance of the error message stating that we have a problem with our programming, or, if the Reader is already running, shut it, and try again.  The reader is not already running.  We have tried rebooting and re-trying to view, but we get the same error message.  We have some old pdf's stored on our hard drive.  We can double click the file names and open and read and print the files in Reader XI.  We can also add new pdf's to our hard drive if they arrive as attachments to e-mails; or, if at a web site offering a view of a document we need, if the web site offers also an ALTERNATE hyperlink by which we may DOWNLOAD the file, then, we can get the file via download, and open it.  The Reader XI is not inoperable.  It will not work with various websites in Explorer 8 that offers a VIEW hyperlink rather than a DOWNLOAD hyperlink.  What can we do? If we download Google Chrome, will it work?

Internet Explorer is, as we in the web design world call it, "the problem child" of browsers. It seems as the rest of the world embraces HTML 5 and CSS 3, Microsoft has been throwing a tantrum and hoping everyone will go back to 1998 standards... "It ain't gonna happen."
Given that the view/download worked prior to installing the newest Reader, it's probably a matter of IE not working with the latest plugin. Since XP (which is just ten short months away from being "sunsetted" by Microsoft) won't work with IE9 or IE10, you're stuck with 8, and I'd recommend a "downgrade" to an older build, like 10 or even 9.
First, you'll want to run the Adobe Cleaner to remove all traces of Reader XI.
Then download the offline installer for 10 and reinstall.

  • How do you fix Error 1324 when downloading Adobe Reader?

"Error 1324. The path My Pictures or the volume is invalid. Please enter it again." appears after 96% of download occurs when downloading Adobe Reader onto my home computer Windows XP Home Ed. v2 sp3 64 processor. Tried downloading again and same thing happens - used Windows Internet Explorer as browser. Any ideas on what to do next?  Will try downloading using Google Chrome to see if that works. First time using the forums - think  I need to move it to Adobe Reader Forum

Thanks Pat W. I stand corrected. The error report occured during installation. My Pictures and the Adobe folders reside in My Documents - the path(?) C:Documents and Settings/Denise/My Documents/My Pictures. The Adobe folder also resides in the My Documents folder but not within the My Pictures folder. Just wondering where the Adobe folder should be.   If I have an external drive on and a backup copy of Adobe is in it, would that be what you mean by a folder in "My Documents" is pointing to somewhere other than the C: drive? I have turned off my external drive and retried the download. Not successful. Will try your last tip re: the support site from microsoft. Thanks for any other clarification you can provide.

  • Cannot download Adobe Reader. Can't open any pdf files

Hi. I am using google chrome as my browser. i tried to download adobe reader. it downloads the .exe file. i try to run it and i save it. (after saying yes to security). But then it doesn't do anything and I can't download any Adobe products. My flash driver was also removed. I tried to install McAfee and it started doing this. Is there a conflict between McAfee and the Adobe reader?

Download the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

The instructions on the Adobe site for Firefox are out-of-date and only apply to older versions of Firefox. You have the most current version of Adobe Reader (ver. 9.3.2) shown in your plug-ins. • Problems downloading adobe reader

    Can anyone help me.
I recently purchased a new PC and tried yesterday to download adobe reader.
I had to click on the 'if the download does not start click here' but when I did I was given an option to save or cancel... there was no option to RUN.
I have saved out 5 times but the programme is not showing on the computer and therefore I cannot run it.
I have windows visita and use Mozila firefox.
Could mozila being stoping the programme from downloading.. if so how do I get it downloaded.
    Jon

You need to be sure where your browser should save the file to.  Not sure where the default save path is for Firefox.  You can try using Windows Search to see if the file is on your hard drive.  Try searching for AdbeRdr910* modified in the last month.
I read on another forum that AVG AntiVirus software was causing the same missing download problem.  Are you using AVG by any chance?

What is "Error 2379" which is preventing me from downloading Adobe Reader?
    I operate on Windows 7.

    Pat,
I can find no such folder on the C: drive.
I have managed to restore my original Adobe Reader by restoring my system to its condition a couple of weeks back before the problem occurred. (My problem occurred when I tried to update the Adobe Reader.) This original version of Adobe Reader works O.K. again so I'm loath to risk uninstalling it - which is what I was asked to do when I tried running your suggested program' below!

  • Why can't i download adobe reader  on my windows vista. Error message is invalid key

I can not download Adobe reader. The installation begins, but then I get the message that the key is invalid. I don't know what means or how to correct it. How can I get a vaid key.

That is a problem caused by Microsoft or one of their recent updates.  Here is the solution
in the Windows Explorer address bar type %APPDATA%
on the right-hand side double-click on the Microsoft folder
now look for a folder named Crypto; delete it, or rename it to something like Crypto-old
If you need more detailed help, tell us your Windows version.

  • Can I install Adobe Reader to a drive other than the C: drive?

Can I install Adobe Reader to a drive other than the C: drive?

    Hello there,
Welcome to Adobe Community. Yes it can be installed on a different drive. Though some of the files installed by it will still be installed on C: drive.
When you run the installer, use 'Change destination folder' at the bottom of the panel
If you already have Adobe Reader installed on the C: drive, you must uninstall it before installing a new version on a different location.
    Thanks!

  • I am trying to download Adobe reader latest version and when I hit download a bar appears at the top of the screen telling me to install missing plugins but firefox states plugins up to date what can I do?

I am unable to download Adobe reader to update my system as I only have version 7 on my computer. Normally I would be able to download direct from Adobe and my system would update but when I try to download a message bar appears which states on the left hand side "additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" and on the right hand side there is a button which states "install missing plugins". When I click on the button a dialog box appears which states "no suitable plugins where found with a message next to a manual install button "unknown plugin(application/getplusplusadobe16299)

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • I cannot download Adobe Reader app using my IPod Touch 4th Generation due to iOS upgrade.

I have an IPod Touch 4th Generation (the older model) and the highest operating system stops at iOS 6.1.6. Unfortunately, when I tried to download Adobe Reader app, it only works for the newer IPod Touch 5th Generation with an operating system of iOS 7.0 or higher. My question is that since I cannot download Adobe Reader app, is there a way for me to open PDF files on my IPod Touch by using Safari? There is no way I can find an Adobe Reader app that works for my operating system or an operating system that works for iOS 6.0 or lower. Is there another program similar to Adobe Reader where I can open PDF files that works for iOS 6.0 or lower?
    Thanks.

    Krispy2010,
Please note that my instructions are intended for Adobe Reader for iOS, not for all iOS apps in general.
Adobe Reader for iOS does offer earlier compatible versions for iOS 5 and 6 via the App Store.  Because the supported iOS version for Adobe Reader for iOS is 5 or later.
Tech specs | Adobe Reader mobile app
However, I cannot speak for other apps, such as Costco app and NFL app that you have mentioned.  It is up to each individual app developer/company to decide whether to take advantage of Apple's App Store's features to offer earlier versions.
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
If a compatible version isn't available, you can try contacting the app developer. Look for contact information on the app's product page in the App Store or Mac App Store.
