Download all podcasts impossible

There used to be a little arrow button to download all podcasts and all podcasts available for download used to show in the podcast list.  Both are now gone.  I can not see any old podcasts and as such can not download anything but the latest.  Any thoughts?  Maybe I need to reinstall iTunes.  I'm on a Mavericks Mac.

On iTunes 11.3 there is a popup menu at the bottom of the list view called 'Show':
Change that to see the 'feed' to see episodes that are not downloaded (has a 'cloud + arrow' icon).
If you haven't updated iTunes recently check your version in the about menu. I think this may have been a recent change (or I just overlooked it).
As for 'download all', I think you either have to select the episodes then Right click > Save Episodes. Or you can change the podcast settings to remove the episode limit. This seems to need to be done in 'My Podcasts' view via the 'gear' menu at the top.
Needless to say it's confusing to describe, but a bit easier to use once you dig into all the places to set options.

  • There's an app for downloading all podcasts?

Like most of you, I have subscribed to many podcasts. I have a USB charger so in most cases, the only reason I connect my iPod Touch to my PC is to update the podcasts in the iPod Touch. This is really tedious. As you know, we can't (normally) synchronize an iPod Touch with more than 1 PC. So if I'm not at home I have no way to update all podcasts at once. I have to manually download each single episode.
Isn't there any application that can updates every podcasts at once through iPod Touch's wireless Internet connection, without connecting to a PC? No, I don't want an application that downloads podcasts but I have to use that application to listen to them. I want an application that updates the podcasts I have subscribed in the Music menu.
Apple says that's app for just everything.. I can't believe it if there isn't any application that this simple task, if Apple doesn't allow third party applications to access users' podcast information. I had a PSP, and it of course had a menu that let me update every podcasts at once. It even had a reservation feature that updates all podcasts at a designated time. I just set the time, and forgot about updating. It just powered on itself, downloaded all podcasts, then put itself into sleep mode. iPod Touch can't do this?

The only apps I've found are not true T9 but rather multi tap ABC. I cannot find a true keypad texting app with iTap for the life of me. Can you guide me to one? Any help would be appreciated.

  • How can I download all podcast episodes in Itunes 11.1.3?

When I subscribe to a podcast, only the first episode downloads (in spite of my default settings, etc.). Now I have to manually click on each little "cloud/arrow"
icon and download them individually. Before apple developers took stupid pills and created this latest version of Itunes (that everyone hates), I could easily download all episodes at the click of one button (I mean DOWNLOAD, not just LIST all episodes, which is all it will do now when you request all episodes).

It seems to work for me.  Select the entire podcast, or specific episodes from a podcast or podcasts.  Right-click on the selected items and choose New Playlist from Selection.
iTunes 11.x may hide the sidebar (along the left side of window).  It looks and works differently from earlier versions (before iTunes 11), when the sidebar is hidden.  To show the sidebar, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  With the sidebar visible, it works (mostly) like it did in previous versions.

  • ITunes crashing when attempting to "download all" podcasts

Operating System: Windows 8.1 Professional 64
    Processor: Intel Core i7-3820 3.6GHz
    Installed Memory; 16GB
Hard drive: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 750GB (529 GB free)
    Software version: iTunes 12.1.14 64-bit
As iTunes default setting appears to be to deleting all played episodes, I've been forced to re-download available episodes of the podcasts to which I subscribe.  The issue, however, is that iTunes is now literally dying every time I attempt to "Download All", regardless of how many episodes need to be retrieved.
I don't remember having this issue prior to the newest release of iTunes, but I don't remember it being set to delete indiscriminately, either.
If there's a current workaround,  I'm amenable to using it, but I really wish Apple would quick tinkering with this to make it shinier for the dumb people...

    Hey there canidomini,
If your iTunes application is still quitting unexpectedly, I would recommend you use the troubleshooting in the following article about those kinds of issues, named:

  • Trouble downloading all Podcasts

    Hello,
I just subscribed to a free Podcast series for my son and iTunes only downloaded the last episode. I would like to download all previous episodes. I know that there was a "Download All" in previous versions of iTunes but don't find it now. I really don't want to have to click the download button for all 122 episodes. Does anyone know how to do this?
    My System:
    Mac Mini
    OS X 10.8.2
    iTunes 11.0.1 (12)
    Podcast Screenshot:
BTW, why are some episodes grayed out and others black? It doesn't have anything to to with whether I've downloaded them or watched them.
    Russell

    Hi Roger,
Thanks for the prompt answer. It worked!
    Here is the screenshot again
I had missed the list option somehow.
Here is the URL of one of the grayed out ones:
    http://podcast.wdr.de/kopfball.xml
As you can see, it's German so I don't know if you even have access to it.
All were black at first. I the clicked Uncheck selection. All were then gray. I unsubscribed and re-subscribed and then it was like in the screenshot. This is not a problem because we can download and play all. I was just curious.
Again, this solved my question. Thanks a bunch.

  • Download ALL podcast epidsodes

iTunes is so limiting. Why can't we simply choose to "download all" episodes. It is so unbelievably dumb to have to download episodes one-by-one, and to be careful that iTunes doesn't miss any clicks because it is so slow in this process.

Yes I had this problem with podcasts, accidentally discovered the doubleclicking to download,  I noticed that it happened when a program downloaded more than one episode at the same time....I dont know of any other way to download other than manually.

  • Nee help downloading all podcasts in I tunes 11 on Widows 7

Hi all running a Dell Inspirion with the OS of Win 7 home premium 64 bit. I recently upgraded to I tunes 11. Many people seem to be having issues with podcasts, I am hoping someone can help me out. I want to download  all episodes for a podcast. There was an option in a previous version of I tunes to "Download all" I tried reverting back to version 10.5 but it soul not read my music library. I have tried going into list mode in the podcast section and selecting the down arrow next to the podcast but that did not work. Does anyone know in I Tunes 11 if there's this feature to download all episodes of a podcast? If so how do I do that? Any help would be appreciated. I anyone from Apple is reading this please take note there area  lo of frustrated users out there.

I have Windows 8.1 64. Upgraded my iphone 5 to 7.1 version.  My laptop did not recognize the iphone. After a couple of hours of tring to figure out why the laptop and iphone weren't syncing, these are the steps I followed. Most are pieced together from suggestion on various websites. Don't  know if all steps are necessary, but it's what I did and it worked.
    1) I did this first: Uninstall and reinstall itunes.
    2) Reboot computer and iphone (turn off the on again)
    3) Go to control panel and "repair" all apple apps.
    4) Go to "Device Manager" on computer (go to left bottom corner and right click, locate Device Manger from list or you can use the Search..
4a) Go to Universial Serial Bus Controllers and look for "Apple Mobile Sevice USB Driver (Before "repairing" the apple apps, this did not appear on my laptop).
4b) Right-click the Apple iPhone in Device Manager and select  Update Drive.
4c) Click "Browse my computer for driver software."
4d) Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
4e) Click the "Have Disk button"
4f) At the "Install from Disk" click Browse button.
4g) Go to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers and Click OK.
4h) Click Next and finish the driver-installation steps.
    5) You should then see the "Apple Mobile Service USB Driver in the Device Manager now.
    6) Open itunes and hopefully the iphone and Windows 8.1 laptop will sync (a dialogue box will appear on the iphone 5 asking you  to "trust" the computer. Select Trust.)
    7) If this doesn't work, try rebooting your computer and turning off your iphone and then turn it back on.
Good Luck. It shouldn't be this time-consuming.

  • Podcast app bug on ipad (w retina): for some reason it freezes, looks like it is trying to refresh but has stopped downloading all podcasts

    Hi Everyone,
I'm using the latest ipad with retina display and love using the podcast app. Since last week the podcast app is acting strangely. It has stopped auto downloading the latest podcasts. It's not just one podcast but all of the ones I subscribe to. When I open the app it looks like it is refreshing with that little circle that keeps spinning but nothing happens - in fact the app freezes and it is hard to close. It freezes also when I try to delete podcasts. It frequently crashes too. I don't know what to do to help it work again. Any suggestions?

I haven't heard back regarding the problem I posted. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks

  • Syncing all podcasts instead of just some

My iPhone has been running out of space a lot recently so I decided to set the phone's Podcast settings within iTunes to 'Automatically include 10 most recent unplayed episodes of all podcasts'. Instead of trying to sync all the podcasts that I've subscribed to and fit them all on my iPhone.
Unfortunately, I've tried syncing this many times and yet the iPhone's podcast app still tries to download ALL podcasts and continuously fills my phone.
Why isn't the iPhone syncing only 10 most recent unplayed of each subscription?

Thanks for your assistance. Yes, I have done all that too actually. I ended up unticking Podcast syncing in my itunes and removing the entire app from my phone. I then changed the phone's settings in iTune's to sync only the 10 podcasts and re-installed the app. It's still trying to sync all podcasts though. When I go into my Podcasts App on the phone it says '67 items downloading' and many of the podcasts have a never-ending list of audio...

  • All podcasts disappear from iPhone whenever I sync with iTunes

I have a very annoying issue whenever I sync my iPhone with iTunes.
I download all podcasts on the iPhone directly, never in iTunes. But I still want to sync music etc. with iTunes.
I have not checked the checkbox for sync of Podcasts in the Podcasts tab, but everytime I sync the iPhone, all podcasts on the iPhone are removed. Why is this? This is not very consistent with how the rest of sync works, I have also left sync for Applications unchecked, and this does not result in all apps disappearing from the iPhone.
    Has anyone else experience this?
Btw, I am using iTunes on WinXP, at work...

    Hi,
Try resetting your Sync Services. See here to reset your sync services.
Let us know how it goes.
    Best wishes

    Greetings Heather,
After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error with the Podcasts app. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

  • I own a iPod touch and I have an iTunes account but all i can download is podcasts no games or music.when I try to download games it says "request cannot be completed " please help

I own a iPod touch and I have an iTunes account but all i can download is podcasts no games or music.when I try to download games it says "request cannot be completed " could there be a problem with it ?
    Please help

Honestly, these are WAGs but they're all that I can think of.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • Where is Download All for all unplayed episodes in podcast?

After subscribing new podcast, is there anyway to download all episodes for me to go thur them offline without Internet access?
Autodownload is on, all episodes are unplayed, and "Episodes to keep" is set to "All episodes".
Anyone knows where the most basic function in the world "Download all" is? Or it's hiding somewhere I missed?

Am suddenly getting error code 3250 when trying to download certain podcasts...not all, just some. How can I fix? Help.

I am getting the same error, and have been, since the last iTunes update.     Driving me crazy, as some podcasts download without issue, others won't download at all, and get the 3250 error code.

  • I keep getting the message "a problem has caused itunes to stop working" and I cannot download my podcasts or sync all of my content

Whenever I open Itunes and try to get my latest podcasts on my Windows 7 computer, Itunes stops working I get a message like" Itunes has stopped working and Windows is checking on the problem for you". I cannot download all my content in one sitting and sync my computer to my 4th gen Ipod. I reinstalled Itunes and selected repair but am still getting the same message.

Many thanks for the thorough information, karmad.
    Fault Module Name: iTunes.dll
That in particular, in conjunction with the other symptoms you've described, has me wondering about user-account-specific troubles.
I'd try checking first to see if the errors are user-account-specific or systemwide, as per:
[iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717]
... and if it does turn out to be a user-account-specific, error, I'd try steadily working through the troubleshooting possibilities in the user-specific troubleshooting section of that document.
