Download and convert RMVB files to MP4

Hi, I'm downloading several rmvb files that I'd like to watch on my iPod. I'd like to have a script so that when JDownloader finishes downloading each file, the PEnGUIn Encoder start converting and then sync to the iPod.
I need help on something like this:
If a new file is created with RMVB extension on the JDownloader folder in my Documents, move that file to JDownloader/Scripted/ than add to PEnGUIn queue.
Tell iTunes to sync iPod.
Repeat every 10 minutes.
Anyone here is fluent enough in AppleScript to help me out?

I have a successful try with converting DVD into iPod playable content. But i tried to convert some rmvb files that i downloaded from the internet it will not work. If anyone knows how to convert rmvb files into MP4 please give me a hand!!

A .rmvb file is a Real Media Variable bit rate file.
It is a proprietary file type designed to be played back and only encoded by the Real Media video player software.
I personally detest it and see no good reason for its existence or use. It does not offer any compelling reason to use it over Divx or H.264. It does not allow higher compression while maintaining quality-all it does is chain you to the Real media player.
There is nothing out there that will do a good job of converting it.

Video, Google Video, Metacafe, Reuters, etc. Okay, let’s go back to the point to see how to use it to download and convert YouTube videos to MP3 on Mac in detailed steps.
Step 1: Add YouTube URL
Step 2: Select MP3 as output format
Copy and paste YouTube URL to the textbox after “URL”, meanwhile, if you want to save the original FLV YouTube videos, you can tick “Save FLV File”. Flash Player update 10.3 unable to download and save flv files

Hello,
Since the Flash Player update to 10.3.183.10 it is no longer possible for me to download and save *.flv files. A file of only 2320 kb is saved along with a meta file of 1 kb. The 2320 kb file has a flv extension but the file will not play in any of my media players. Files of mp4 type still download and play fine. The problem only occurred following the last upgrade and even though I uninstalled then reinstalled Adobe Flash Player I cannot overcome the problem. My PC runs MS Windows Vista Home Premium Version: 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002. Browser Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421.
Your assistance would be much appreciated.

The problem only occurs when downloading flv files from YouTube. For all video downloads I have been using RealPlayer and experience no problems when downloading flv files from sites other than YouTube.
Have been able to download these files now using the site http://www.savevid.com/
Perhaps YouTube are blocking the use of RealPlayer from downloading flv files?

I am getting messages that I can't download and read .pdf files since I have the wrong Adobe reader. I know about their security disasters of course, but I downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader from the Adobe web site and I have other ,pdf file readers as well, and for some reason they won't work either. I have 5 computers running top end processors and RAM. By this I mean I have one, this one which I am using that has an AMD Phenom Black 3.2 Quad-core with 8 GBs of Corsair top DDR2 RAM, my other two AMD have either an Athlon II triple core with 4 GBs of DDR2 Corsair RAM, one with the Phenom X4 965 3.4 GHz Quad-core with 8 GBs of their best DDR2 RAM, and two Intels with the i7 920 Processors using the triple channel 1366 socket processors and one with 8 GBs of low latency DDR3 RAM and the other with 4 GBs of the same RAM. I am getting the message on this one, which has a fresh install of XP Pro X64 operating system, as do the other 4 as well. I have run Avast Business Pro Anti-virus on this one, which I am getting the message on with a single result which I deleted, and also both Spybot Search and Destroy, which came back clean as well as Malwarebytes Antimalware, which got a lot of tracing cookies now removed, and SuperAntiSpware which also found a few cookies also now deleted. Can you tell me what I need to do to get these files to show as .pdf files rather than as a clean blank page. One other issue is that I wish to know how to turn off my downloads so they are saved and Mozilla will give me the option of returning them instead of me losing them all together as it does now. Opening an .rar file and converting flac files

I am not sure this belongs in this topic area but since iTunes is the ultimate destination of this file I posted here.
I have a .rar file. It is a compressed file when unzipped will have FLAC audio files in the folder. I need to know how I unzip the .rar file and then how to convert the FLAC file to AIFF or ALAC for use in iTunes.

OK, you have 2 jobs ahead of you.
First you need to uncompress the RAR archive. Find a tool that will do this on the Mac. Although I have not personally used it, UnRARx would be a possibility.
When it is unpacked, you will see a folder containing the FLAC files. FLAC is the number one format for lossless audio, but iTunes is unable to handle it. So, use a conversion tool such as Switch for the Mac, and convert the files to AIFF, ALAC, or AAC. Add the converted files to your iTunes library.
Then unless you need them for some non-iTunes purpose, you can discard the RAR archive and the FLACs.

Where to download and manage video files at...

I take most my videos on my iPhone 4 now. I notice I can download them in iPhoto. They then show up in iMovie.
#1 - are they working off the same database/same files or is it copied over into iMovie?
I just purchased Aperture 3. It is supposed to work with video files.
I also do use a handheld HD video recorder on rare occasions, but haven't used it in a while to be honest.
I was pondering all this and am wondering the best way to manage my video. I use Final Cut Express for most of my video editing, although I do now use iMovie some since I purchased a macbook pro.
So I'm all over the place, I suppose. iPhoto to download, iMovie for some editing, FCE for editing, and now Aperture enters the picture.
I'm not sure if Aperture works off the iPhoto library or if I have to download it separately into Aperture.
Somewhere in this mixture, I guess I'm wondering the most simple direct way to manage my video files. What method should I import my video files: iPhoto? iMovie? Aperture? or does it matter? Do they all access the same basic structure of files or do they do their own thing and copy from one source to another?
And if I'm going to mix files from my iphone and hand held HD, I'm wondering the best way to basically download and manage video files.
Suggestions appreciated.

Saving into iPhoto certainly works. If you save it there, iMovie can access it, but iMovie will not duplicate it.
You should have the option in Aperture to have Aperture be the default application and if so, your videos would be there. Once again, iMovie can see them and edit them without duplicating them.
However, to me, the most straightforward way would be to import the movies directly from your phone into iMovie. Then you can use all the library management features of the iMovie Events.
To do this, I would open the Image Capture Utility and plug in your iPhone. You should see the iPhone listed as a device in Image Capture. Right click on this device, and select iMovie as a default application. It has been a while since I did this, so that is approximate, but it should get you there.

Why can I no longer download and read .pdf files

I have never had any problems downloading and reading .pdf files until I 'upgraded' the Adobe reader to version 11. Now all attempted downloads fail because "I don't have the necessary helper application or even C:\DOCUME~1\Will-o\LOCALS~1\Temp\Back Channel II - The Vietnam Betrayal - Chaps 1&2.pdf could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences. What in the world is going on and how do I fix it?
Under 'Tools - Applications - Adobe Acrobat Document, the I've selected 'Use Adobe Reader.' However since I also have Adobe Acrobat 8.3, I've tried substituting that for the Reader, but that doesn't work either. Please help.

I need to save all files from web and store onto a drive to reupload to a new domain name. I use Dreamweaver CS3.

First define your Local Site folder in Dreamweaver. DW will use this folder to store your site files.
Go to Manage Sites > New or Edit site. See screenshots.
Servers: Enter your remote server's log-in details. When complete, hit TEST to see if the connection is working. If all is well, hit SAVE.
From the Files Panel (F8), click on Remote Server to show the files that are currently there. Click the green Down Arrow to GET files from remote server to your local site folder.
