Download and store files directly to TimeCapsule?

Hi,
I'm wondering is there a way to save downloaded files direct to the TimeCapsule. Normaly after download files to my Mac, I have to copy and store them in TC. TC. Its time consuming process.
Another is that safe when store files in Time Capsule?
Thank for support!

One should have an exclusive drive or partition for backup separate from one used just for storage. This assures a lower likelihood of damaging one or the other.
If it were possible to partition a TC, then you could use one volume for backup and the other for storage, but even that would risk the loss of both were the drive to fail.

  • Download and store file for later processing

    Hi
Is this possible without using the FileConnection API:
    1. Download an archive (XML-File with images) from a webserver and store it into RMS
    2. Read the archive later and open it
    3. Store the contents of the archive into RMS and delete the archive
    4. Process the XML with a parser
    5. I am lucky
    Kind regards
    Mic.

    Hi
I must confess that I don't see the utility of the FileConnection API in your situation. When you speak of RMS then the JSR 75 has no use at all. Using RMS you provide a 'universal' solution to storing data in any Java enabled mobile phone.
So, you would need knowledge of: HTTP communication (http://java.sun.com/developer/J2METechTips/2001/tt0820.html), RMS (http://developers.sun.com/techtopics/mobility/midp/articles/persist/) and XML parsing (http://developers.sun.com/techtopics/mobility/midp/articles/parsingxml/)

  • Download and Edit Files directly from OSN

    Hi,
I Wonder when the very cool functionality of Download an edit a Microsoft document directly from OSN in a native Editor  will be available like in the Youtube Video "OSN Working with Files" from Kellsey Ruppel?
    Kind Regards,
    Gregor Bublitz

This capability (which you can view from the blog post here) is not yet enabled for customers, as we are working through some inconsistencies in being able to support this across all of our various supported browsers and different versions of Office.  We will update this thread when we enable this capability in the OSN web client.
As you can see from this video, we do support opening documents directly into their editors from our Outlook client provided you are using the version of OSN that comes with Fusion R7 (11.1.1.7.0) .  This provides users of Microsoft Office and Outlook a streamlined experience to edit documents directly from a Conversation.  In the OSN Outlook client, click on a Document from the Conversation view, and select the Documents menu to Edit.

  • If I store files in the TimeCapsule's own HD, will i be able to use time machine to back those files up also? (specifically can i store/run my iPhoto library from TC and then have Time machine also make/include a backup up of the iPhoto library?)

I curretly use my iphoto library from an large external HD (2 tb)  and then have time machine back it up to my airport extreme (which has an external HD attached, 500gb ) Long story short... I am running out of storage space on the 'large external hd 2tb'. however, I still have space on the HD (500gb) that is attached to my airport extreme.
    My question is,
    1. If i move my iphoto library over to the HD attached to my airport extreme, Is there a way for Time Machine to also back this up.
    2. same question only applied differentliy  = If i purchase a  Time Capsule. and store files on its HD. (specifically an iPhoto library) would time machine create backups of this 'locally' stored data on its own TC HD?
    TC = time Capsule
    HD = hard drive
    TM = Time machien

    1. If i move my iphoto library over to the HD attached to my airport extreme, Is there a way for Time Machine to also back this up.
Sorry, but no. Time Machine cannot backup from network drives.

Again, sorry, but no. Same reason. The TC's internal HDD is treated as a network drive.

How do I download and access music directly from an external hard drive through iTunes

    Hello Docwa
Check out the article below to move your iTunes Media folder to an external drive so that way you can have the media externally. If you have not added the media yet, go ahead and move the folder if you do not have enough room on your computer so you can import the music

  • FireFox 4 and earlier versions will not install on my Windows Vista, 64 bit computer. The file downloads and the file extracts but I never make it to the installation wizard.

I have tried to download FireFox 4 and earlier versions from several different website, thinking the files might have gotten corrupted, and each time I download the file the exact same thing happens, the file downloads and the file gets extracted but when the extraction completes the small window dissappears and nothing else happens.
My machine is a Windows Vista 64 bit system and I've tried downloading the file with my 32 and 64 bit Internet Explorer but nothing seems to work. Can someone help me please because I would love to be able to completely delete I.E.

Hi, thanks for your Flash file info. Well you must have been doing it right, since all of your Flash files for IE and FF are correct.
The SWF plugin for FF and the SWO for IE are also correct.
You shouldn't be having any problems with Flash Player.
What you can try is to turn off the hardware acceleration feature. Go to any video, like youtube and right click on the video and click on Settings. Display Settings is where you will UN check hardware acceleration.
See if that helps. Let me know.
    Thanks,

  • Can I use an external hard drive to download and store my iTunes library?

Can I use an external hard drive to download and store my iTunes library?

Yes - in most cases you can just copy your entire library (by default C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes) to your external drive, with the result being a iTunes folder in the root of that drive with a structure like this:
Then hold down SHIFT when you start iTunes, and when you see this prompt:
click on Choose Library..., navigate to the iTunes folder on your external drive, and click Open.  See turingtest2's user tip on Make a split library portable for more information, including steps you may need to take to align your library structure before moving it to an external drive - this applies if you currently have some/all of the media in your library stored outside the standard iTunes Media folders.

  • Download and view file from db

    Hi!
Is there any way to download the file from db and view its contents?
Using webutil I can download the file to a specific location in the client machine. Since I don't know what type of file is (pdf, doc, txt...), I don't know how can I view the file in the client browser...
Is there a way to download the file into a temp directory and show the content in the web browser?
    Thanks!
    Ana

    It worked, thanks!
But I have a little problem with .doc files....
I download the file from db using webutil (showing a file dialog window to save the file to a specific directory in the client), the file is downloaded successfuly and when I call "web.show_document('file:///c:\temp\test.doc','_blank')", appears the window telling me to save the file to disk or to open the file from its current location... It was supposed not to show this window and to open the file directly from its location....
    How can I do this?
    Thanks!

  • I can no longer download and save files. They are now saved with a ".part" suffix that I can not use or open. What happened, I used to do this all the time?

Downloads seem to be happening normally at first but the file shows up with a file extension of ".part" that I can not use or open. If I refresh the folder where it was downloaded to, it disappears as though it wasn't there at all.
I used to do this and it just yesterday started to give me problems. It doesn't seem to matter what file type I do this with as PDF, MP3 and EXE files have all shown this problem.
    Please help!

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.<br />
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

  • Download and upload file

in J2EE project, how can I upload a file and process it at server side, for ex.a picture,a text file(may be text need to be process)..
how can I generete a file from server side, like .doc and user can download it

Do a search for servlets generating MS Office files. There are packages that can generate .pdf, .xsl and .doc files.
When users uploads file, you have access to file's name. Use filename extension to determine what kind of file it is.
