Download App, iTunes says it's installed, but I don't see it on my iPad screens. Huh?

I downloaded the new Touch Press "Disney Animated" app in iTunes.
The status in iTunes shows the App with the button "Remove", but it does NOT show the icon on the iPad screens either in iTunes OR on the iPad itself.
The iPad is hooked up and shown as online to iTunes.
What the heck?
Wake up Apple. This is baloney.

If you have iOS 7 installed on the iPad, you can search by swiping top to down on any home screen.
According to iTunes, minimum requirement for that app is:  iOS 6.0 or later

  • HT1386 Connected ipad to computer and downloaded 2 apps that aren't showing up on my ipad.  Says they are downloaded on itunes, but I don't see anything on my ipad. I have synced it several times. Am I missing something?

Connected ipad to computer with usb and downloaded 2 apps that aren't showing up on my ipad.  Says they are downloaded on itunes, but I don't see anything on my ipad. Tried downloading AGAIN and it says the same thing. Downloaded but don't see them on the ipad. I have synced it several times. Am I missing something?

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • TS1702 I have a free app that says it is installing but will not install. How can I get it to finish installing or quit.

I have a free casino app that says it is installing but it will not finish stalling

    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

  • App Store says Lion is installed but it isn't - What happened?

I have the appropriate qualifying hardware and software and downloaded Lion, clicked on proceed and App Store says it is installed but it isn't.
    Any ideas?

    "Me too"
Yet another individual in the same boat. ***, Apple?! Why must getting software be so obscure & complicated? What happened to: go to website, download thing, install thing?
I had Xcode 4.1 installed. Wanted to install (yet another) package with MacPorts, but got complaint that Xcode 4.1 is inadequate.
So I go to App Store & tell it to install current Xcode…This, BTW, left me with nearly zero feedback that something was going on. Only because I have a menubar widget showing network bandwidth did I know it was downloading.
while waiting (who knows how long it was to be), I had to sleep my computer to take it with me to work.
Upon waking my computer, App Store tells me Xcode is installed. Great!
Back to MacPorts to install that package: it tells me that Xcode 4.1 is too old. ***!?
Then things get messy & I end up clicking on the circle-X "button" next to XCode in the "Purchases" section of App Store, thinking that'll allow me to install it…that's a dead end
    I then try entirely removing "/Developer" & "/Applications/Install Xcode.app"another dead end
Trying all combinations of holding any/all keyboard modifiers (option/control/shift/command) while clicking on "Purchases" in App Store did nothing different than not holding any.
Now I'm left with no Xcode & no way to install it with App Storewhee! this is a fine pit I find myself in now.
What a lovely user experience! Please, may I have more?! <grumble> <fume>
In the end, I did resort to my "what happened to…" thought.
    Problem Solved:
Go to http://connect.apple.com/ & login with your (free) dev account.
Locate the current version of Xcode (4.3.2 for Lion) & download the dmg
Install like a normal person. (copy the Xcode.app from the mounted disk image to Applications)
After a bit of cleanup (things like "/usr/bin/xcodebuild -version" were trying to access things that used to exist), I've again got a working install of Xcode.

  • HT202159 How do you reinstall an app that says its already installed but just sitting on my launch pad with a blank download bar underneath I can't reset it or delete it ?

My son has downloaded batman lego but it just sits on the desktop with a white box underneath and nothing happening
In the app store it is saying it has already been installed
We cant delete it in this stage and its not loading either any ideas would be great

First check your Applications folder to see if the app was installled there.
If not, from the App Store menu bar top of your screen click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads.
If that doesn't help, try re downloading the app.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original download.
If you hae anti virus software installed, you may need to disable that before downloading apps.

  • App Store says Xcode is installed but it isn't, so I can't install XCode

What can I say.  I tried to install XCode but it did not finish.  Now the App Store thinks XCode is installed.  I need XCode for MacPorts to work.  Does anyone know how I can tell the App Store XCode is not installed?

  • Itunes says it is installed, but when i try to connect, i get Apple Application not found. have uninstalled and reinstalled many times and always the same

Apple Application Support not in my programs, cause one advice said uninstall everything associated with itunes, so i did and now the it does not get redownloaded. what can i do.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Mac app store says iwork is installed, but its not.

The Mac App store says that Pages, Keynote, and Numbers are all installed on my iMac, but when I open them, they are the previous versions.  Should I delete and try to re-install?  What do I do?  I've already restarted.  Didn't work.  Suggestions?

Don't delete them. That will not help and you will find that they have more features than the new iWork apps. You can have both version on the computer. You have to have the latest version of iWork 09 for this to work.
    To get the new ones.
    1. log out of MacAppStore
    2. Change the localized language in the System preferences> Language and Text > Text. Make sure the new language is on the top of the list
    3. Restart the computer
    4. Log in and open the MAcAppStore. Now you should see that you can download the new iWork apps. Do so and supply you AppleID for the appStore.
5.When done change language again in the System preferences
    6. Restart the computer
    7. now you should have the stripped version of iWork. The old one will still be in the application folder too.

  • My iPad says that Facebook app is installed but i don't see it anywhere

I recently restored my iPad 3 (iOS 7.0.2) and when I downloaded all the apps that i have again, facebook app doesn't appear in the homescreen and i can't open it from the app store.
What should I do? I'm tired of restore my iPad again and again in order to fix iOS's 7 problems...

Is it on another page or in a folder? iOS 7 folders have pages too now.
Swipe down from the middle of your screen and search for it.
    Check your restrictions:Settings > General > Restrictions

  • I haven't been able to open Firefox for over a week. I would like to uninstall it, but I can't because it says it's open, but I don't see it is. Please tell me what to do.

It has been over a week since I click to open mozilla and it won't. This has never happened before. I decided to uninstall it and install it back again to see if it would work, but a window pops up and says to close it. I can't get it to open it, so how can I close it?

It is probably not necessary to uninstall/reinstall.

  • App is saying it is installed, but they aren't installed so now i can't download them

Sorry for the awful grammer on the topic. It's hard to describe.
So anyways, I am trying to purchase Motion 5 and in the Mac App Store the download tab says installed. However it is not installed on my machine. Since it says this I am unable to download the app. any suggestions?
    Thank you

have you ever in the past downloaded it?

  • I have download itunes and it says installing but I don't see it in my program list nor in my desktop for a shortcut.  Didn't get any error message either

I have uninstalled all traces of Itunes including Mobile and Apple support but when I start installing the latest itunes 11 it would prompt that that it's ready for installation and would now show up in my programs installed.

  • I attempted to download a previousy purchased app. It says it was installed but I can not find it on my iPad 2.

How can I find an app, that was installed ?

Have you checked all your homescreens and searched for it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right) ? Also have you set an age rating limit via Settings > General > Restrictions which is hiding it ?
Otherwise try a reset and see if it appears after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
