Download attachment from discussion forum

I am taking an online class and the instructor posts mp3 files of the lecture in the discussion forum. I have tried to use the URL to download these files in GoodReader, but they just get downloaded as "attachment.php" - the URL does not point directly to a mp3 file. When I download these fileson my laptop,clicking on the link automatically downloads the files as mp3s to my computer.
Any ideas how to download these to my iPad directly without having to save them on my laptop first then sync?

In that case the iPad doesn't support that particular media player.

GoodReader opens PDF, not sure about PHP.
You may have to download on your computer and sync. See if that works. Not sure where in iTunes that type of file would be stored though to sync. You could try dragging it to your iTunes library then try syncing. No gurantees.

I am working from home - WIFI. I am able however to quickly download files from yousendit (which has been my work around). It is pretty frustrating... some days are worse than others so maybe it has to do with the connection speed?!

Your running into a bug in the BinaryDecode method when using binaryStringResponseBody:true. This is in the SP.RequestExecutor.Debug.js. You can read more about how to get around this here:

How to delete the Discussions from Discussions Group.
In Discussion Forum we have 3 Discussion Groups now we want to Delete all the Discussion which are presented in that Groups.

Only moderator has permission to delete discussion groups.
In the menu item Delete, which is provided in the following places:
1. In the header of the Discussions iView
Caution: This allows you to delete all discussion groups and discussions that exist in the room.
2. In the context menu for the discussion group or discussion
This allows you to delete a single discussion or a discussion group together with all subordinate objects.

I have successfully deployed discussion forum, in Oracle app server 10g, and its working fine. Now, i have to implement a Moderator in this. but i am not getting an idea, where is the queries and specifications about the tables are given.
Please help me to to understand the work flow, as well to know, the place where queries are written.

Cannot download attachement from server, Cannot download attachement from server

When I want to open an attachment in a received email, I get the message:
File is not. downloaded from server.
In ios6 this never occurred

Scroll to the bottom of the email. Do you see a button to download the rest of the email?

WHY DON'T YOU WANT ME TO VIEW A DOWNLOADED ATTACHMENT FROM MY INBOX?

AFTER DOWNLOADING THE DOCUMENT HAS THE FIREFOX LOGO SEAL ON IT, NOT ALLOWING ME TO OPEN. UPON CLICKING A MESSAGE POPS UP:

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.
*check the permissions on the about:permissions page and in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

Disabling "Add Category" from Discussion Forums Portlet based on Role.

In my application I've 2 different levels of Roles 1.Viewer, 2. Participant. A viewer can only have a access to Topic and he can reply back to that. He can't add Category -- > Forum etc. Where as Participant can Create all.
How to disable Add Category, Add Forum, Add Topic tabs to Viewer.

To try to provide some answers to your questions:
1. A regular role determines what a user can do in Studio as a whole. An application role determines what a user can do within the context of a specific application.
For example, a user with the Power User role for Studio can create applications, and automatically has an Application Administrator role for the applications they create. They can also grant Application Member or Application Administrator roles for those applications to other users. They cannot automatically view or edit applications created by other users, unless granted an application role by an Application Administrator for those applications.
Users with only the User role for Studio cannot create applications (as of 3.1), but may be granted an Application Member or Administrator role for specific applications.
Neither a Power User nor a User has access to the Control Panel.
Users with the Administrator role for Studio have access to the Control Panel, and unrestricted access to applications.
For information on user roles in Studio, see About user roles.
For information on assigning application roles, see Managing memebership in an application.
2. We don't really support component-specific permissions - the options are deprecated and shouldn't be used, which is why they are not documented. The Configuration option is the only option available for a component.
3. Add Discussion is also a deprecated function that is not supported.

Can THIS Discussion Forum Portlet be downloaded/installed in my own Portal?

Yes, this is a classpath issue.
The pdkjava.jar and ptlshare.jar files don't seem to be in the classpath. Are you sure you've followed the steps provided in the Installing the Integration Portlets document? You find it in the ZIP file when you download the discussion forum portlet.

Filed messages issue, could not download attachment

My Z10 seems to be having major issues downloading attachment from my Exchange account when there's a rule (client-side rule) that files this away. My Z10 is set to show filed messages and to sync this folder so it does come through, but I can't download the attachments (txt files).
If I forward the email to me to bypass the rule (via WebApp), I have no issues downloading the attachment.
In general, it seems as though I'm getting iffy support for filed messages (Gmail, via IMAP, doesn't alert on emails that bypass Inbox and are filed, but that folder/label is set to sync too).
Anyone have any ideas or am I just running into some bugs?

JAVA Discussion Forum Portlet of craig Laurent

Hi all,
I downloaded the Java Discussion Forum portlet which is developed by laurent from Oracle Portal Integration Solutions site.
But I have some issues in using this portlet.
As per the instructions I have installed the portlet successfully in both OCS V1 and OCS V2.
1) But in OCS V1 when creating a Topic or reply to a Topic the record is creating with a TIMESTAMP of 3 Hrs less than the actual time. I understand he is using CURRENT_TIMESTAMP to capture the time. When I checked by create a record in a dummy table with capturing TIMESTAMP directly in SQL*PLUS, correct time is capturing without any difference. This is the problem I am facing with OCS V1.
2) In OCS V2 the problem I am facing is something tedious. When tried to create a Topic the record is not at all creating in the database, at the sametime no error message is also occuring.
Can anybody please...... help me to sorted out these issues.

I am also having a problem in using Java Discussion Forum Portlet. I have deployed the portlet successfully in OCS V2(Portal Version 9.0.2.3.0B). But when I am creating a topic it is not creating a record in the database. I can be able to create forum, but I couldn't create a topic and reply topic. Should I need to apply any Patch.
The same portlet which I deployed in OCS V1(Portal Version 9.0.2.2.22) is working fine.
Please Advice me

Download attachment in Mail application is super slow

Whenever I download attachment from an email in Mail application, it super slow. It's 10 times slower than when I download the same attachment from Safari. So it means not because of the internet speed.
I don't know you guys have the same problem like me.
And another quesion, can we configure Mail app to automatically download attachment. Now everytime I receive an email, I have to open email and click on attachment to download it. It waste time to sit there and wait.

I have the exact same problem. 10 times slower download of attachements than if I simply login to webmail and download that way.
Anyone know a solution?

ERROR IN DISCUSSION FORUM PORTLET (9.0.4.0) (SEARCH)

I had downloaded and installed Discussion Forum (9.0.4.0) version.
It deployed successfully.
When I try the search feature in Discussion Forum Portlet, it display error message.
After input text in the search textbox and press the "Go" button, error message display "Error: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.NullPointerException, msg=null".
How can I solve it?

Discussion forum portlet is not NLS compliant, so its not capable of handling multibyte characters at present.

Unzipping the file downloaded from Oracle forum

Dear All,
Hope im in the right discussion room.
I downloaded the Oracle 11g from Oracle Forum (special thanks to Oracle) but i also saw that it has a special unzipping software to unzip the downloaded files.
Can i use the WinZip to unzip or any other softwares to be used to unzip.
I am using Windows 7 ultimate.
Any help would he highly appreciated.
