Download Bloomberg data to SAP
Dear all,
at a customer we want to download energy prices from specific companies from Bloomberg and compare it with the prices they agreed upon with these companies.
My question is, what's the best way to get this data from Bloomberg on any given time and then store it in SAP to be compared with at any given moment.
The customer has PI as middleware and our idea was to download the wanted data from Bloomberg into a SAP table but whether it has to go via PI or if PI can be bypassed is not clear to me. I suppose the data has to be made readable to SAP so some sort of mapping has to be done. And when PI is used would the data be put in a flat file in the form of an idoc?
Also I would like to know how we can call the Bloomberg tool with the request to send their data.
Thanks a lot!
Kind regards,
Mark
Hi,
first things first, consider - what are the constraints & requirements you are operating in?
In what format is your data?
Where is it hosted?
By what application or database?
Using what connectivities or semantic layers are you hoping to connect to this data?
the questions above are for you to think about. We may not have the immediate answer , so i'd like to encourage you to think about how you are architecting this solution/integration.

Method for Downloading Huge Data from SAP system
Hi All,
we need to download the huge data from one SAP system & then, need to migrate into another SAP system.
is there any better method, except downloading data through SE11/SE16 ? please advice.
Thanks
pabiI have already done several system mergers, and we usually do not have the need to download data.
SAP can talk to SAP. with RFC and by using ALE/IDOC communication.
so it is possible to send e.g. material master with BD10 per IDOC from system A to system B.
you can define that the IDOC is collected, which means it is saved to a file on the application server of the receiving system.
you then can use LSMW and read this file with several hundred thousand of IDOCs as source.
Field mapping is easy if you use IDOC method for import, because then you have a 1:1 field mapping.
So you need only to focus on the few fields where the values changes from old to new system.. -

Hi,
Our ABAP team has made a development of one transaction. This transaction has lot of text data to be entered. Client want to avoid this text data to be entered in the transaction since it runs into pages.
The client wants that this output to be taken as a download in word document and then they can enter or copy paste the long texts there and then take the print out.
Is it possible to take sap download of data and sap script in word format?
Before confirming to client, I want to make sure on this.
Since I am not a ABAP consultant, please help on this with the right solution.
Thanks and regardsHi Rashmi,
You can download data into word, but reading it from word (into internal tables in ABAP program) will not be easy or may not be possible.
Better you can ask to fill that data into Excel sheet(tab delimited file), which then can be uploaded.

You need to look for tools that can run via the command line and thsu be executed as external command (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/fa/0971d4543b11d1898e0000e8322d00/frameset.htm)

2LIS_03_BX- Initial Stock/Material stock
2LIS_03_BF - Material movements
2LIS_03_UM - Revaluations/Find the price of the stock
The first DataSource (2LIS_03_BX) is used to extract an opening stock balance on a
detailed level (material, plant, storage location and so on). At this moment, the opening
stock is the operative stock in the source system. "At this moment" is the point in time at
which the statistical setup ran for DataSource 2LIS_03_BX. (This is because no
documents are to be posted during this run and so the stock does not change during this
run, as we will see below). It is not possible to choose a key date freely.
The second DataSource (2LIS_03_BF) is used to extract the material movements into
the BW system. This DataSource provides the data as material documents (MCMSEG
structure).
The third of the above DataSources (2LIS_03_UM) contains data from valuated
revaluations in Financial Accounting (document BSEG). This data is required to update
valuated stock changes for the calculated stock balance in the BW. This information is
not required in many situations as it is often only the quantities that are of importance.
This DataSource only describes financial accounting processes, not logistical ones. In
other words, only the stock value is changed here, no changes are made to the
quantities. Everything that is subsequently mentioned here about the upload sequence
and compression regarding DataSource 2LIS_03_BF also applies to this DataSource.
This means a detailed description is not required for the revaluation DataSource.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw33/helpdata/en/ed/16c29a27db6e4d81a015be8673eb80/content.htm
These are the standard data sources used for Inventory extraction.
Hope this helps.

How to extract data from SAP in FDM 11121
I came across some documents from version 11113, says there is a SAP adapter, however ,when I check 11121 there's no such adapter, does anyone know how to extract data from SAP in FDM 11121?
I download a package from Bristlecone, but I dont see any xml files in it, just a bunch of dll and I didn't find any instructions on how to set up/configure in FDM, it just explained how to register in SAP app server and client.
Hyperion 11113 has readme on sap adapter(Hyperion Readme Template), but I cannot find the same readme file in 11121, all I can find is ERP Integration Adapter document. any idears where I can find at least a readme document? -
Error while download the data to an Excel sheet for ECC report from EP
Hi experts,
I had created a report program which will download the data to an Excel sheet using SAP OLE object
For this report i had created a tcode too. The report which i developed is perfectly working fine in SAPGUI. But if i download the data to an Excel sheet for the same report throught SAP EP.I am getting the error that "Error in excel downlaod"
I analyed by putting dubigg point and it throws exception while calling Function module.
The excpetion is " OLE object id not found".
Can any body gives a light on this why i'm not able download the excel in ep?
Thanks,
JBHello,
(by the way I came here to ask my question and is my first time visit but...)
The problem is obvious: How do you expect OLE handler can "touch" the local PC Excel through a web browser? I believe that is not possible. That means (at least for me) that I have to create the whole documents before I return them to the user. That is why I use XML Office documents generation or you can try to hack some Export to excel features of ERP reports.

Data missing while downloading the data using GUI_DOWNLOAD
Hi experts,
I'm uploading the Production Order data through excel and in the transaction level it's happening fine.
After running the BDC I'm fetching the Production Order Number(AUFNR) and it's Status from the respective tables and downloading the data along with the Production Order Number(AUFNR) and it's Status using GUI_DOWNLOAD. (Version is 4.6 C)
After downloading some of the Production Order Numbers(AUFNR) and it's Status are missing in the Excel Log sheet . But it's very much there in the SAP tables and also in the transaction screen level.

Track of Addition , Updation and Deletion data in SAP system
Hi,
I am working on extracting data from SAP using 3rd party language into DB, now scenario is as follow everytime i do extraction i have to pull all data again and again which is time consuming now what i am thing of getting only updated data or new , delated data into my DB, say for example
1 . I have created vendor or updated vendor info does SAP keep the information of this record that this record has been added or updated if yes the which table does i will get the info.?
2. if i delete some info. of vendor does SAP store this info. that this vendor is deleted subsequently i will updata my data into my DB.
if i get this info. i can extract only extra data added or modified data into my DB
any help / suggestion will be appriciated.
Thanks,
John. Most of the transactional data and almost all the master data are tracked for changes in SAP. So instead of asking such a generic question, maybe if you please let us know exactly which objects that you are extracting, then we can verify this. As pointed out earlier, There are function modules, tables and programs that track changes or reads them for you.
Apart from these, config table changes are also tracked using table logging.
Rob, just a small correction, if I may do so. For vendors the field is LFA1-LOEVM not KNA1-LOEVM which is for customers. But Rob is correct in saying that there are certain master data objects that are not physically deleted but are only marked for deletion and a subsequent archiving will delete them permenantly.
To make it short, yes SAP does keep track of changes for many critical objects. If it is missing on some, which are of interest to you, there are ways. Please let the forum know which data you are interested in downloading.

Extract data from SAP using SAP NCO 3.0?
Hi,
Now that the new SAP NCO 3.0 connector is out and can be installed on 64bit servers we were wondering if it could be used to perform data extractions from SAP.
So does anyone have any experience of hooking up SAP NCO 3.0 to a SAP system (backend SQL server database) to perform data extraction into a Microsoft Reporting Services environment?
Looking at SAP NCO 3.0 itself it is just 3 DLL files but can't see any installation instructions to then hook this into SSRS as a .Net provider which we could plug into SAP system.
Would be grateful if anyone could share any experience they may have here, thanks.Hi
SAP NCO 3.0 is SAP Connector for DotNet framework 3.0 or higher. Yes .. you are right, there are only 3 dll files for the same.
It has both 32 and 64 bit version, you can install as per your requirement.
You can download data from SAP with Visual Studio 2008 onwards by including them in your project.
