  • Help! InDesign interactive PDF buttons not working in Safari or on iPad

I made an infographic in Indesign for our university magazine with a QR code to link to an interactive pdf. Nothing too complicated animation wise, simply buttons that you can click on to view different parts of the graphic. However, the buttons are not working at all in Safari and on the iPhone and iPad, the buttons disapear completley. Please help.

    Thanks,

Whether buttons work correctly in a PDF file depend entirely on what PDF reader you're using. Here are a couple of important facts:
    * While corrected created interactive PDFs will display correctly in the FREE Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat, they probably won't display correctly in Apple's Preview application which is probably what you're viewing in Safari.
    * None of the PDF readers currently available on an iPad (e.g., iBooks, GoodReader, etc.) correctly handle interactivity like buttons on an iPad.

  • Gmail Buttons Not Working In Safari 6.0.5

The Archive, Spam, Delete and Mark As Read buttons don't work in Safari 6.0.5 any more (OSX 10.8.4). I've enabled the Developer Menu, cleared the cache, no better.
Anyone got any ideas? Having to use the Gmail app on my iPhone at the mo!

    Hello Bzangy,
You may want to try resetting Safari if you haven't already.

If the issue persists after resetting Safari, I'd recommend checking for and removing any plugins you may have installed for Safari.

  • Share button not working in Safari 8.0

I've just upgraded my iMac to Yosemite, but neither the Share button nor the share item in the menu are working in Safari 8.0. I'm pretty sure the problem has something to do with the Extensions in my System Preferences, since the share button is working fine in Safari on my Macbook Pro, but if I open System Preferences/Extensions, on the MBP Share Menu is listed in the left hand column, and shows all the share services, but that item is missing from System Preferences/Extensions on my iMac. Does anybody know how to turn it on? There are no more updates waiting to be downloadedI've tried restarting but that didn't help.

I had same problem and called apple tech support and on their suggestion I did the following and everything working ok now.  Hope it helps.
If sharing options and Markup are missing after you install OS X Yosemite
If Share button options (Email This Page, Facebook, etc.) or the Markup feature are missing after you install OS X Yosemite, follow the instructions below.
Follow these steps in each user account on your Mac to restore Share button options and the Markup feature.
Open the Terminal app. You can launch Terminal from the Other folder in Launchpad, or enter "Terminal" in Spotlight search.
Copy and paste this command into the Terminal window:/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -seed
Press Return and wait for the Terminal prompt (ends in $) to reappear. It may take a few minutes.
    Close the Terminal app.
If you have another user account on your Mac that has this issue, log into that account and repeat these steps.

  • Hyperlinks/buttons not working in Safari

When I go onto Safari and to a website like Verizon.  I go to the page to pay my bill.  When I press on the 'Pay Bill' red button,  it does nothing.  It will not forward to the next step or the next page.  It is so frustrating.  My iPad works find but not my iMac.  Please help me to fix this!!

From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.

  • Formatting Buttons Not Working (in Safari)

I've tried searching, both here and in Safari, but can't find this specific gripe — the 'new and improved' formatting buttons don't seem to be working for me in Safari.
    For example, when I'm *trying* for bold text (with that word selected and clicking on the icon), the little tags just wind up at the bottom of my text block.{b}{/b}
If I go back and try to italicize 'tried' in para. 1, then this occurs{i}{/i} ... not that helpful.
OTOH, it works fine in Firefox 1.5.
FYI I have Java etc etc etc enabled in Safari > Prefs, and have already tried dumping the Safari plist file. Any ideas on what else to look at?

Well, just to square the turn — I did the obvious and read the relevant parts in the Help section and, strangely, that IS the way that they seem to intend it to work: Type along, get to where you already know you want to apply the tags, then click on the little icon, put the cursor inside the tags and type whatever you want whatevered, then move the cursor - again - and continue on your way.
I guess I'd say "That is so last week ...", but it's really much worse than that. (Okay, okay ..... add the IMHO and so forth).
And it totally begs the question of why, in Firefox, it actually works the way that you'd expect it to work? I can't imagine that Mozilla put special coding into their browser to have it work with the new Apple Discussions formatting; if anything, I'd have expected Safari to do that.

  • Problems with iweb and safari - 'buttons' not working in safari/firefox...

Hello. Help! I've been using iweb for a while with no probs - but on trying to launch my most recent site I'm finding the navigation buttons (graphic images not text buttons) work fine in iweb on my mac, plus fine on a PC but only partially in safari/firefox browsers... see sarahgreen.me and you will see that none of them work on the home page. Is this some kind of bug? I was wondering if it is anything to do with there being too many objects on the page or something? They are fine on a PC.
    Thanks for any ideas.
    Sarah

In iWeb do Command-Shift-L to see the layout of the page.
The content in the Navigation layer is blocking the content of the Header layer. The body layer is empty.
Move ( +Use Command-drag+ ) EVERYTHING in the Navigation layer and EVERYTHING in the Header layer INTO the Body layer.
    Put content where it belongs.

  • App download buttons not working.

    iPhone 3GS.
Whenever I go into a specific app in the app store, none of the buttons work properly.
    1) clicking on the price no longer downloads the app,
    2) the ratings button does nothing,
    3) the 'tell a friend' and 'git this app' buttons jump back to the top of the app window,
    4) pictures usually don't show up.  They usually appear as five gray rectangular boxes with white borders (though in one app one too-large-for-the-window picture shows up (see pic),
    5) the 'app support' button still goes to the developer's website.
    6) the 'top in-app purchases' banner is just text now.
    Has anyone experienced this?

Have you tried shutting down the apps running in the background or restarting your phone? If you have too many apps sitting in the background you may not have enough memory to display all the App Store Buttons.
    Shut down all multitasking apps
    1. Double press the home button to display the multitasking drawer
    2. Tap and hold any app icon until it wiggles and displays the x button overlay
    3. Tap the x buttons to shut all the apps in the drawer down
    4. Press the home button to close the drawer
    Reset / Restart the Phone
    1.  Press and hold BOTH the Power and Home buttons at the same time
    2. Wait for the Slide to Shut Down screen to appear AND disappear
    3. Continue holding both buttons down until the silver apple logo appears
    4. Release both buttons and wait for the phone to restart
Check out the App Store and see if the problem has cleared up.
    Hope this helps.

  • Digital Download button not working.

    Hi,
I purchased a video game from the online bestbuy store and got it on the digital download option. I received the confirmation of it in my library and downloaded the 3rd party downloader to help with the download. So after that was done I went to download and the button does nothing for me. When I press the button it goes from a hand to a cursor for about 5 seconds and then goes back to the hand icon and then nothing happens.
Things I've done to correct it wiht no luck.
    - Tried a diffferent browser.
    - Cleared all cookies.
    - Reset Password.
I cant think of much else to do so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hello grandpooba6682,
Thanks for your digital download order!  I'm sure you'll love that title just as soon as you can get it downloaded.  Sorry that has been an issue so far, but I'll be happy to look into it.
It is possible there is something keeping the link from working on this end so I will see what we can do, but I'll also send you a private message with some information that may work for you in a more expedient manner.  Please watch for the message shortly.  To check your private messages, while logged into the forum click on the envelope in the upper right page corner.

  • Exit button not working in Safari

Has anyone run into this, specifically with Safari? I created a module in Captivate 8, that has a close button on the skin. The module has been uploaded to my clients LMS and it closes no problem on all other browsers except Safari. I tried creating a button on the last page of the slide as well with the "exit" action and that doesn't seem to work either in Safari. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this issue?

I tried an Exit button (clickbox associated with the action Exit).  It freezes Safari for about 10-15 seconds and then finally closes the browser tab.

  • Icloud download button not working.

I imported a book on cd to my computer and now I cannot download from the cloud? It doesn't recognize it's in my local library.  I see the icon that says I can download from the cloud but when I click it nothing happens.  It won't play.

Thanks! I did and now it works. Thanks for you reply.
