Download Choice is Ignored by Firefox even though specified.
I have Firefox 3.6.16
When I try to download an email attachment with suffix "pps" (Power Point) Firefox ALWAYS displays a window for me to choose, EVEN THOUGH I have already specified to automatically use Power Point for Windows.
Also, sometimes, when I display Options/Applications the entry for Power Point does not show up --I am forced to do a "search" and then it immediately shows up and stays up.
Yet all the other entries seem to always display.
Any thoughts?
P.S. Just in case, my Windows XP Pro is in bad shape and I have a very old PC. I am in the process of switching to a newer PC with Windows 7 (I don't know whether this has anything to do with the above problem).
Bluehost is not a known Certificate Authority according to Tools -> Options, "Advanced" section, "Encryption" tab, "View Certificates" button, "Authorities" tab.

I take it you want to download InDesign CC 9.2 (the version before InDesign CC 2014). You can do so from the Creative Cloud desktop app. Below the list of apps you've installed, there is a menu that lists previous versions:

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

We have a new MacBook Pro with Mavericks. The mail is automatically downloading from our Earthlink POP account even though the account is set to "manual."
Is there another way to stop Mail from automatically downloading? Is there another setting in Notifications or some other place I'm missing?
(We'd rather check for spam and delete online where we can just check off boxes and hit delete than download and then have to look at each message to delete.)

When I try to download firefox 4 I get message to close firefox even though it is not open.
When I try to download Firefox 4.0. I get a message to "close Firefox then continue," even though it is already closed.
Its probable still running in the background. Hold Ctrl, Alt and Del, then when task managers pops up, go to the process tab, look for firefox.exe, select it then press end process bottom right.

Hoping someone can help. I purchased a Big Fish Game app from itunes for my Ipad 1. I decided to delete it and reinstall it as there were some errors in the game. When I visit itunes to reinstall it it doesnt give me the option to reinstall/re-download and has it marked as downloaded even though its not now on my Ipad. I have already deleted and re-downloaded something else so I believe I know how to do this. Its a paid app so I would rather not delete it from itunes as an option.

I added Yahoo Search when I installed a program, but later removed it from Firefox Add-ons, but it still comes up as my Firefox start Page even though Tools Options states that I want a Blank Start Page.

If I click to open a pdf file when online with Firefox, the screen freezes and it tells me that the registry isn't updated and I should try regedit. About a month ago I had to wipe my computer clean and start all over again because of a virus that couldn't be cleaned out. I've since downloaded all necessary programs, Acrobat 8 one of them, but this message only appeared yesterday. Not sure why it worked up until now if it's the registry. But I don't know how to update it with regedit.
You need to get rid of all those duplicate files. Put these in the Trash:
Adobe Reader 7.07 (all copies)
AdbeRdr708enUS.dmg
This should leave you with one copy of Adobe Reader 7.08 in your Applications folder, with the correct Adobe icon.
Now run Disk Utility and choose Repair Permissions. When it's done, try double-clicking on the Adobe Reader icon and see if it starts normally. If not, make a note as to any error messages or unusual behavior and post again.

I new version of Firefox was just released today. Try updating to Firefox 23.0.<br>
If this is a compatibility issue, then maybe the recent update will patch this issue.
