Download difficulties

The problems I have met are :- Photoshop CS5 will not open without Java SE 6 runtime which i am having **** of a job locating and downloading, Parallels 7 for Mac will not work and opening the internet is very slow. I have a 2 year old iMac running SL 10.6.8 I don't want to go and give this OS low marks until I have these problems sorted.

I had Parallels 7 and had the same problem and called Parallels. They had me go to the link below:
http://www.parallels.com/download/desktop/
Then I clicked on 'download trial' and downloaded the installation file of Parallels Desktop.
After the download was completed, I installed Parallels Desktop by following the onscreen instructions.
Then I was able to launch Parallels Desktop successfully.
I launched Windows and Parallels Tools installs and then then I restarted Windows.
Problem was solved and now works perfectly!
P.S. Had no issue with activation code - Parrallels must use your current activation code and treat like software update.

I have a new iPad air and am having difficulties downloading 'Pages' 'numbers'& 'iphoto'
How can I overcome the problem?

Yes, always download on your home wifi or via cable connected to the computer.  Downloading large files on Cellular is time consuming and risky as the file may not complete.

  • PSE12 download difficulties with Windows Home Basic Vista SP2

After 4 attempts and 4 failures and equally 4 uninstall operations, I have yet to get a functional version of PSE12 purchased online at the Adobe website in Dec, 2013.  Furthermore, my Adobe account does not list this purchase...YES, I do have a copy of the original purchase receipt both hard-copy printed, and pdf-copy-saved, at the time of purchase.  And, yes, my Visa card provider lists Adobe posting this purchase.  However, Adobe never emailed me to confirm my purchase nor give me a link to download the software!  I did register my PSE12 serial number at my Adobe account site a few days later.  That is the only information Adobe shows on my account regarding my as-yet-unobtained PSE12.
I have a 5 year old Dell Inspiron with Windows Home Basic Vista SP2 that also seems to have all the requirements to use PSE12.  I have PSE6 now on the machine, and, really love its features.  I do not view any video on this laptop, i.e. no movies or video games, just occasion short YouTube-type videos.  This is word-processing and image-processing workhorse.  I do a fair amount of PhotoShop work with still images, and, simply wanted the latest upgrade of PSE.  Adobe was offering it at a good sale price.
I have been online to chat with Adobe telling me to go through the trial download version, then 'buy' it by giving the serial number.  That worked once, but, did not generate a functional app.  What is Error 105???  I have had at least two phone calls with Adobe, one with a rep who could not help, and, the other with a rep whose foreign accent was almost impossible to understand.  I am hearing-inpaired, and, mere audio-volume enhancement is not always enough trying to speak with someone for whom English is not their native language.
So now what?  I do not have high confidence that Adobe can or will fix this.  I have posted several detailed reports at their security site because I was concerned that my downloads were being hijacked and possibly my credit card information compromised.  They say they do not have my phone number, though it is posted at my Adobe account site.  Adobe Photoshop and Adobe's pdf options are very good programs that I used for years, first with Apple computers, and, then after 2008 with a Windows PC.  Has Adobe become overwhelmed with cyber-security problems?  I'm about at the point where I want my money back.  Can anyone suggest an image-application as good as PSE? Help!
    mj2ePhD

Mj2ePhD do you receive the Error 105 when you are in the Adobe Download Assistant?  If so then please see solution 4 in Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-download-assistant.html#main_Solutio n_4 for information on how to resolve your current difficulties.
Alternately you can bypass the use of the Adobe Download Assistant by download Photoshop Elements using the directions listed at http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-12-direct-download-links-premiere.html.  Please make sure to complete the Very Important Instructions prior to scrolling down the page and clicking on the download links.

  • Chase Bank download difficulties resulting in a blank screen

Tonight I have had a problem with Chase Bank giving me a blank screen when I tried to download my credit card statement. The file Chase downloaded was always 'statementPdf' (with a total of 6 downloads) and windows always stated that it had no program to open this file. I read another Firefox posting that had the same problem. I was trying to get back to that posting to add my temporary solution which works with Foxit: I just went to a DOS command line and used the old DOS rename command. By renaming it 'statement.pdf', I could open the file. This does not explain why Chase is consistently downloading a mis-named file. I first tried calling Chase but got a girl on their tech desk, apparently from India who was not very much help.

    Thank you for contacting Chase.

  • Driver download difficulties with MPC5000 Fiery with 10.6.8

I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard OS, and then downloaded the driver for the Ricoh MPC5000 Fiery drive. It downloaded fine, but then it didn't upzip, it got hung up looking for the driver to upgrade. Ricoh finally gave me a generic driver so at least I could print. But can't do everything, like print to the bypass. Anybody out there have problems with Snow Leopard OS and Ricoh MPC5000 Fiery?

  • In Design download difficulties

    Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.8) and I am trying to download the one month trial period In Design. It does not aloud me because it says that Adobe does not work anymore with this system but it is quite new so I am sure there must be a way... Can anyone help me, please?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards, Veronica

10.6.8 is at least 5 years old. Your only option is to update to 10.7.5 in order to run the trial.

  • Epub library book download difficulties

I have a new iMac and installed Adobe Digital Editions so I could continue to download ebooks for my iRiver e-reader.  I can download free ebooks books quickly and easily but have problems doing the same from our local library.  This has only been a problem since we bought the new computer.  While the book looks like it is installing on my iRiver, the process goes on and on and on until I eventually have to unplug the device. (I have previously left it for up to 6 minutes but it never completes the process).
By comparison, if I download a free epub book, it is installed in a matter of seconds.  What is the difference and why is it now a problem?

Is it just one book that it is failing on, or does it fail with all books freshly downloaded from the library?
If just one book, maybe the Kobo has an issue with that book.
I found when I had a Bookeen Opus that there was a very small number of books it just would't read,
though the detailed symptoms were different.
If all new books, is there any possibility that you have somehow got the Kobo and ADE registered with different Adobe IDs?
Try copying a DRM book that works on the Kobo from the Kobo to the computer, and seeing if you can read it on ADE.
If so, you might need to deauthorize the Kobo (ctrl-shift-E while plugged in) and reauthorize it with the ID you currently use on ADE.
But be aware that this may mean you can no longer read obn the Kobo those older books that currently work there.

The system and OS requirements are OK, however I get the error message '...Monitor and Sublaunch, because Power PC  applications are no longer supported"

I am sorry but I have no information on this.  I don't believe the Rosetta emulation environment is even supported under Mac OS 10.8.  You may also want to reference http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosetta_(software).

  • Version Based Downloading w/JBoss Missing Version Field....

Here we go again, version based downloading difficulties.
I cannot get version based downloading to work using the version.xml file or using file based versioning.
    My environment is
JBoss 4.0.3 SP1 (whatever version of tomcat container this contains)
    JRE 1.5.0_06
I have a .ear file which contains a .war file which contains the appropriate folder format and loose application jars, html, jnlp, etc., as described in the "Packaging JNLP Applications in a Web Archive" document.
My web.xml file looks like this:

    WEB-INF\lib\jnlp.jar
    version.xml
    *.jar
    *.jnlp
    *.html
This configuration spits out the famous "Missing version field from server....." that I have seen many times in this forum. The download servlet is getting executed because I am getting a log file generated every time. Debug is the only value that will put out a log. The log output looks like this:
    JnlpDownloadServlet(3): Request: /totalvu/totalvu.jnlp

JnlpDownloadServlet(4): lastModified: 1133794820000 Mon Dec 05 10:00:20 EST 2005If I remove the version= tag from the main jnlp file, everything loads fine, but there is no versioning. I have also tried to remove the version.xml file from the package and change my jar files to use file based versioning, but that didn't work either. I rebuilt my jar files with the __V1.0 extension and the complaint was that it couldn't load the resource totalvu.jar. Well, ya, it is now named totalvu__V1.0.jar! Again, versioning is being ignored. The double underscore and V was not recognized as anything special.
The servlet is running long enough to spit out a log file, no errors. It looks like it succesfully processed the jnlp files, but there is no indication of any versioning.
Doe the jnlp.jar and jardiff.jar files need to be included in the lib folder in the .war file? I am only including the jnlp-servlet.jar. They were not referenced in the example war file in the documentation, but I have seen them referenced in older doc for other app servers. I did try including them, but it made no difference of course. Guess this question is just a housekeeping question.
Does anyone have any insight on this problem?
I am at the point where I think I would like to get the source and debug through it to see what is going on, but that should be unecessary.

Thanks. I had the same problem.
As danrak suggests, just add this to your web.xml file to parse .jar and/or .zip file extensions:
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>JnlpDownloadServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>*.zip</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>JnlpDownloadServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>*.jar</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>

  • Re: Adobe Download Assistant error 107 help

    Jeff Wright.
Day 5 after purchase and my downloading problem is still not resolved!  Not impressed and I'm out of pocket by $99!!!!  If Adobe doesn't live up to its service contract, I'm demanding my money back from the retailer.  Maybe I'll start a campaign against Adobe then!

Ross have you downloaded other files successfully previously?  If you navigate to the same directory/folder are you able to find the downloaded installation files?  Which web browsers have you utilized?
I have requested a member of our support team to contact you directly regarding your download difficulties.
I did also branch off your discussion as it wasn't completely relevant to the Adobe Download Assistant.  You have indicated that you are not able to utilize the direct download links either which would not generate an error 107.

  • Cant download the Photoshop CS3 trial?

    Hi,
I cant download the Photoshop CS3 trial. When I press the button to download it looks like the page will start the download but then it just stops and there is no download. All the other downloads work ok.
Any direct links to the download?

    Does
this help? If you still have trouble, there are some suggestions available
in this service note about how to address downloading difficulties. First suggestion is (if you are using IE) make sure your Temporary Internet Files cache space is big enough to hold the downloaded file. (I would certainly have problems if I used IE, since I have my TIF space set very low; however, I use Firefox, which doesn't apply its cache size limit to downloads, thank heavens!)
