Restart your computer.
I downloaded Flash Player 12 as prompted by my know-it-all computer. Then I was blocked. I made sure Safari Preferences were set as required by Adobe: Security - make sure to allow plug-ins and under General - make sure to tick the box that allows opening safe failes after download. Still nothing.
I uninstalled all Flash Players (11 and 12). Then I reinstalled. Now instead of being blocked my computer didn't even recognize that I had Flash Player. There's no prompt to restart the computer. But I finally did and now it's working.
So try restarting. If that doesn't work, uninstall all older versions or all versions, reinstall, and restart.
And BTW, I called Adobe Support only to be told if I wanted help I'd have to pay $59 for support. So Adobe gives me a gift of freeware but says I have to pay them to hand me the scissors to cut the ribbon? I don't think so. Especially when I knew it would take them 3 seconds to give me an answer.
Adobe? I hope you're reading this. Shame on you for not prompting to restart the computer and double shame on you for telling me I'd have to pay you to get freeware working.

    Tried to download mavericks and got a message that there was insufficent space.  I made space and went back to the app store, "purchases" clicked on download button on the mavericks line and nothing happened.  I searched my hard drive but could not find any dmg file for it.  I can't download a new iphoto till I have mavericks. help!

    Rentals are a one-time only download from the store. If you can't free up enough space on your phone for it then you can try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support and see if they grant you a redownload for your Mac : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
    If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    As you can see below, when I right click, I have no such option.  In the User Account Settings, I'm operating as the "System Administrator".
    Any other suggestions?

    When I pluged in my iPad, I was told to download the newest version of iTunes. But the download doesn't work. There is no message about this, except "Thank you for downloading iTunes".

  • Adobe Photo Downloader doesn't  work for me

    I've installed the trial version of Lightroom. It installed the photo downloader, which would be fine, except that it doesn't do anything - it never pops up when I insert a card. If I explicitly select "Launch" from its menu, nothing happens. I can't get Lightroom to automatically detect a card insert at all, even the option to pop up the import dialog doesn't work.
    What's worse, is that I also have Elements 3 installed, and this new version of downloader seems to have replaced the one that comes with Elements, so now I have no auto-downloading at all.
    I've tried running apdproxy.exe from the command line after killing the running one, but it doesn't print any useful diagnostics. There's nothing in the event log either. Can anyone help me diagnose this?

    That happened to me until I did an Import in LR, then the auto-load worked every time after that.

  • Mavericks download doesn't work

    I'm on OS 10.6.8 now, trying to update to Mavericks.
    However, the download doesn't seem to work: for some reason it paused, and I can't get it to start again. Right clicking the Dock icon and hitting "Resume" or "Cancel download" doesn't do anything. The only thing I can do is drag the icon off the Dock, after which it disappears. However, when I try to retry downloading it, clicking "Install App" in the App Store doesn't do anything.
    I've tried logging out and in, and even restarting, but that doesn't fix it. However, when I do log in, the Mavericks download icon appears in the Dock, saying "Paused".
    I also noticed in the Activity Monitor that "kernel_task" uses most of my CPU all the time, even when I have no programs open. This never happened before I tried installing Mavericks. Could it be related?

    I've bought Os x Mountain Lion on the Mac App Store but when i look at the "download status" on lauchpad it's still on "0" (the download line stays on the smallest position) what can i do ? I've been rebooting my mac for 3 times and i doesn't work...

    Thank you so much dominic23 ! I think i've got a bug on my Lauchpad because the status (progress) bar doesn't move.
    When i take a look at the page linked to the download tab i can see how many time it will take, ... and everythings is obviously alright.

  • Safari download doesn't work

    Previously I was using Safari 6.1 on my MBP (OS X 10.7.5) and all was good until I had a window telling me that my current version of Safari was no longer supported by youtube.
    I downloaded Safari 7.x and now it will not open. The new Safari icon in the Applications folder has a white circle with diagonal slash (like the NO or Do Not Enter signs) and when it is Clicked there is a window saying "You can't use this version of Safari with this version OS. You have 10.7.5 and it requires 10.9."
    I tried downloading Safari 6.1 and it said the download was successful. But the newer Safari icon (described above) remains in the Applications folder. Even tried downloading Safari 6.1 to another location (User's directory) but it won't open there and that doesn't work either.
    How do I get Safari back?
    And I'm assuming I've probably lost all my bookmarks and history too!
    Help, please.

    You mean the ONLY way I can get Safari back is to restore the Operating System?
    When trying to install a version of anything that is not compatible with the OS you normally get a window saying such. And the OS doesn't allow the installation. In this case the OS allowed the installation thereby killing the working version and leaving an incompatible version. So I'm out a working version of Safari unless I restore the entire OS?
    Surely there's another way. Thanks again!!

  • Adobe Flash 'downloaded', doesn't work.

    Have LITERALLY tried and 'successfully' downloaded adobe flash more than 20 times now.
    It says it's worked, but then when it comes to using it, it doesn't work.
    Need this for uni studies.
    Can't ring Adobe as can't find contact details.

  • AAM dissapeared,creativ cloud download doesn`t work

    My AAM everytime shows an error that it`s missing or damaged and i need to download a copy.
    When I click the Download button on the Creative Cloud page (https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud), it brings up a dialogue that forces me to open the link with CreativeCloud URIHandler. But this doesn`t work.

    Relaunch the Browser
    Go to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
    Sign in with Adobe ID and password and download CC desktop app.

    Rename OOBE to OOBE_old located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe
    Relaunch the Browser

    Just a tip if you happen to be using Mac OS. It appears that the License Agreement
    page doesn't work using Safari. Works fine with Camino, though.

    Does the Activity Window work normally when Rapport is uninstalled ?
    If so, I'm not sure what you could do beyond keeping it that way & watching for an updated version; or contacting
    http://www.trusteer.com/support/report-problem & seeing what they say, since it might conflict with some other add-on. You've the same trouble in a new account ?.
