Download Dreamweaver  CS4 Extended User's Manual as a PDF

Anyone have a link to this file?

Ben Pleysier's link (thank's Ben!) made me think of a way to answer my own question. In case others might find this helpful, I'm providing the answer.
Getting to Adobe's “Classic” Support Content
I don't know about you, but I find Adobe's new marketing/upgrade-focused support content anything but supportive. If you visit a support site to find out about using your current product, the following will be most helpful. After coming up with the workaround described below, I found Adobe's non-marketing support content (i.e., the actual information someone is looking for when they want to use their current product) via this link:
          http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/search/index.cfm?cat=all&term=&loc=en_us&product=creativesuit e
This is the Adobe support site with which I am familiar. You can drill down to the specific product you have a question about using the dropdown to the right of the search box.
I found this on the last two PDFs I was looking for using the workaround, below. In case this, too, disappears, I'm retaining the workaround in this comment.
A Search Engine Workaround
Found a workaround for locating PDF copies of previous versions of Adobe user's manuals: search using Google's "site:" operator. For instance, to find CS4 resources published in US English, go to your browser's search bar (make sure Google is the designated search engine), and type:
     site:help.adobe.com/archive/en_US/ CS4
Note: Remember to put a space between the last slash and the search term.
This worked for Bridge and Version Cue, Dreamweaver (help, extending, and API reference) Extension Manager, Fireworks, Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, Media Encoder, and Photoshop (includes "Extended" features)
Found Acrobat 9 user's manual with: "site:help.adobe.com help.pdf 9" where "help.pdf" is typically at the end of each filename and, "9", would help filter down to the version I was looking for.
Found Soundbooth CS4 here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Soundbooth/2.0/soundbooth_cs4_help.pdf
Found Contribute CS4 here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Contribute/5.0_Using/contribute_cs4_help.pdf
And here is the link for Contribute's deployment guide: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Contribute/5.0_Deploying/contribute_cs4_deploying.pdf
Online help for Contribute is here (but I recommend downloading the PDF before it disappears): http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Contribute/5.0_Using/
That's it!
Signed,
Missing the days when Adobe put the user first.

  • Problems to Download Dreamweaver CS4 with Akamai Download Manager!

I want to download Dreamweaver CS4 Italian Windows Trial version.
I have Internet Explorer 7, PC with OS Windows XP x64bit Corporate, Core2Quad Q9650, Motherboard MSI P45Platinum with Ethernet 10/100/1000,
    4GBRAM,3 HDD 500GB WesternDigital,Nvidia GeForce 9400GT.
I have installed "Akamai Download Manager ActiveX" control asked on the top of window popup.
    Clicked Yes:Installation confirmation.
But I have tried to click the button "Download" and just one window with this message appears and disappears immediately:
Per scaricare il software è necessario installare Akamai Download Manager...
    Problemi di download?
    Assistenza per il download...
Il sistema non dispone dei requisiti minimi per eseguire Akamai Download Manager.
(The system doesn't meets the minimum system requirements to run Akamai Download Manager.)
    I can't download anything. Why?
I have disable Pop-ups Blocker, and disabled also Anti-Phishing Filter.
Disabled also Antivirus and the Firewall.
Set and lowered Security Protection from Tools>Internet Options: to "Medium"; and also, another time, set to "Personalized" with all the controls
    switched to "Active".
Set Privacy>Settings>"Accetta tutti i cookie"(lowered to full bottom).
I have read this Akamai Download Manager FAQ:
-"Nothing happens when I click the download link"
If nothing happened after you clicked the download link, either your pop-up blocker or a high security setting on your web browser may have stopped
the Akamai DLM window from opening.
If you have a pop-up blocker enabled in your web browser or in your Internet toolbar (such as the Yahoo! toolbar or the Google toolbar), you will
need to disable your pop-up blocker to start your download. For additional information, and for instructions on changing your security setting, see
the "Akamai Download Manager system requirements" (ServiceNote kb400530).
Note: The download manager can sometimes take up to a minute to load. Please allow time for the initial loading before assuming there is a problem
Thus, I have followed this rules in Akamai Download Manager System Requirements:
    Internet Explorer 7
    1) Access your Internet options from the Windows Control Panel (Internet Options) or by selecting Tools > Internet Options in Internet Explorer
    2) Select the Security Tab
    3) Click Custom Level
    4) Scroll through the list of security options and set:
-ActiveX controls and plug-ins > Download signed ActiveX controls > Enable or Prompt
-ActiveX controls and plug-ins > Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins > Enable or Prompt
-ActiveX controls and plug-ins > Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting > Enable or Prompt
-Downloads > File download > Enable
-Miscellaneous > Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints > Enable
-Scripting > Active scripting > Enable
    5) Click OK
    6) Click OK again
    But nothing changes.
On my PC I have also this installation: "J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5" and "Java(TM)6 Update 15".
But the download doesn't start at all.
    1) How can I do to download Dreamweaver CS4-Windows-ITALIAN language?
    2) Is it possible to download 364.8 MegaBytes without Akamai Download Manager?
    Please Hurry!
    Horsepower0171.

another option you may have is resettofactory
    start- run- type:
    cmd
    press enter
    type:
    cd c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
    press enter
    type:
    loader.exe /resettofactory
    press enter
    please perform a backup first
test your browser before you restore your backup, and to be ssafe I would do a selective restore
open DTM, go to backup/restore- advanced
    top left click on file-open
find your backup, it will load on the left side
you current working BB will be on the right side
transfer ONLY the absolute important databases from the left to the right(address, cal, phone logs, messages, sms, tasks, memo)... dont do any that you dont know and dont do any OPTIONS ones

  • How can I download a US iPad User's Manual when my apple ID keeps sending me to the French site?

How can I download a US iPad User's Manual when my apple ID keeps sending me to the French site?  I live in France but am American and prefer to work in English.  My Apple ID is tied to my French address and Apple blocks me from downloading from the US site.  What do I need to do to get US apps and manuals if I don't have a US address for a credit card?

Perhaps the simplest thing you could do is ask a US based friend to download the User Guide, have them email it to you in PDF.  Save the PDF to your iTunes account, then sync it to your iPad.

  • CS4 Extended user: 32GB of session photos WON'T download through Bridge.  help!!

    Hi folks,
First time poster here.  I posted this on the Photoshop Windows board too - I am desperate.
I am running CS4 Extended on my one-year old Windows 7 PC.   I did 13 mini sessions over the weekend.  I'm a portrait photographer and have had ZERO problems with my CS4 extended in the last year.  I always download my photos through Bride (and Adobe Photo Downloader). I adjust them in Adobe Camera Raw and then open them in Photoshop.  No issues until now.
I shot 8 of my sessions on a 32GB card.  Usually, it takes minutes to get the images off my card.  Now?  It's taking DAYS. I realize 32GB is a lot to try to download all at once, so I am breaking them down into 100-200 image clusters each.  But every time I try this, my Photo downloader eventually crashes.  I HAVE to get these images off my cards asap!!  HELP!!!!
    Symptoms:
    1)  the thumbnails are taking FOREVER to generate
    2) when I click on images to download, they are taking FOREVER to download (like....hours.....for 100 images).
    3)  After an hour or so, the Photo Downloaders stops working and I have to close the program.
    I have tried:
    1) rebooting the computer - 6x to no avail
    2)  turning off my norton 360
    3) updating my Adobe and Photoshop - all software up to date
    WTH is going on????

In addition to the replies I made to this post in the Photoshop forum here is another suggestion.
If it worked before and not now, and you have not added any hardware or software (or updates) then I would reset the preferences.
Hold down the Ctrl key and click on the Bridge icon to start.  You should get a reset window with 3 options.

  • Do Photoshop CS4 & Photoshop CS4 Extended have different manuals?

Can someone please confirm for me whether or not there actually are two different manuals for Photoshop and Photoshop Extended? I ordered a copy of the "Extended" manual from the Adobe Store, and was sent the non "Extended" version. Opened a ticket on the customer service portal and got a reply that, yes indeed there are two different manuals, call sales to blah, blah, blah... Thing is, I can't find a copy of an "Extended" version manual pdf anywhere on the website -- does one exist? The one pdf up on the site includes chapters on Video and Animation, 3D and Technical Imaging (which are the only differences between the two versions, no?) And both these chapters are included in the printed book. So, before I get stuck in Adobe sales customer service phone hell -- it would be great if someone who *knows* can tell me if both manuals are actually contained in the same book, or not. Thank you.

The downloaded Photoshop CS4 PDF has this section for instance, does yours ?
Chapter 19: 3D and technical imaging
    3D overview (Photoshop Extended)
3D editing and output (Photoshop Extended)
    DICOM files (Photoshop Extended)
    Measurement (Photoshop Extended)
Counting objects in an image (Photoshop Extended)
    Photoshop and MATLAB (Photoshop Extended)
    Image Stacks (Photoshop Extended)

  • How do I download Photoshop CS4 Extended?

I purchased a serial two-three years ago, and had it on my old computer. The computer broke. And now I need to install it on my new one, but I don't have discs. I have searched literally for hours to try and find one.
This website was suggested (http://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl) but it does not have CS4 Extended, and the Photoshop 4 link is bro
How can I download it? Alternately, how can I get in touch with Adobe directly? I can't find any contact details or support aside from this forum. Please, please help me. I have invested so much time recently looking for a download, and am at my wits end.

The link is not broken , you need to read the very important instruction properly.
You can contact Adobe via http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

  • Where to download Dreamweaver CS4

I am currently using a textbook that follows CS4, and I have downloaded CS5. But I have noticed several differences between the two. To make things simpler and easier follow, I would like to download CS4. I have searched for the link, but the only links I am getting are links to CS5. Does anyone know where I can download a trial version of CS4?

In the past when a new version comes out, Adobe takes down the earlier product trials.
If you don't have CS4 already, I don't know where you could get it except to purchase a copy from Amazon.com

  • Download Dreamweaver CS4

I'm looking at purchase options.  SoftwareKing has a Dreamweaver CS4 download for 199.99.  This this a legitimate copy of Dreamweaver?  Are there other download options to save on the cost?
    Thanks.

This is not an official answer to your question, but I can tell you about my experience. I purchased the Adobe Master Suite CS4 as a download only ($399.00) and have been very pleased with my decision. I was able to properly register it and everything. The biggest disadvantage is the fact that there is no book to go with it. I can live with that. By the way, they have Dreamweaver CS4 for $99.90. The URL is http://oem-box.com/
This is not advice. I am simply sharing my experience. You are on your own.

  • Need to download Dreamweaver CS4

I purchased Dreamweaver CS4 a few years ago, and now I need to intall it on a new computer.  (I will be upgrading soon to CS6, but I can't do that yet.)  I can't find anywhere to download CS4.  Can someone point me to a download site?
    Thanks.
    Peter

Thanks. I downloaded the .7z file and the .exe file.  But when I try to run the .exe file, I am asked to "choose the program you want to use to open this file". The file is called ADBEDRWVRCS4_LS1 and it's file type just says "file", not .exe.  I wasn't expecting that. Am I missing something?
    Thanks.

  • Where can I download Dreamweaver CS4 Student Edition?

    Hi,
I´m already registered with my valid Licence key. But now I have to install Dreamweaver CS4 (Student Edition) on my new computer and I can´t find my  installation CD´s.
    Can anybody help me?
I already tried to install the "normal" Dreamweaver CS4 installation files. But finally my Student Licence key was always rejected.
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Marion

    Hello Marion,
I've moved this question to the Dreamweaver forum where they can better assist you.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 registered users who would like a Preview invite...

I think it would be a good idea for Adobe to reward their registered Dreamweaver CS4 customers (in a small way) by putting them at the front of the line for Browser Lab preview invites. This would also allow more DW CS4 feedback on the DW CS4 features of BrowserLab.
That includes me: tmcalda a_t gmail.com
Others in "the same boat" as me can add their registered email addresses in this thread.

it says it needs "1,280x800 display with 16-bit video card." I've got the 16-bit card but maximum display resolution is just 1024 x 768. If I install it on this machine, will I just be doing a lot of scrolling? Or is my laptop literally unable to run the program because of its display resolution?
I haven't tried CS4 on a machine with 1024 x 768 resolution, but CS3 had the same minimum requirement, and it worked just fine. The main problem with a small resolution monitor is that the panels on the right overlap the Property inspector. However, with CS4, it shouldn't be a problem if you switch the panels to iconic mode.
As Mylenium says, you can always try it and deactivate the program on your laptop if it's not successful.

  • Where can I download Dreamweaver CS4?

I have a legit licence on CS4. But my PC is crashed in accident and I have no backup exe file to set it up on another PC. All I have is a 24 numeral serial code which is legit.

Join Creative Cloud for a 30-day trial.  Download either DW CC (ver 13) or DW CS6 (ver 12).  Cloud software can be installed on either Win, Mac or both.

  • CS2 & CS4 Extended on the same system

I have downloaded the CS4 Extended Trial but did not uninstall CS2 before doing so. Can these both exist on the same system without issues?
    Thanks!

  • Documentation user guide manual

Does LR 1.0 have a full user guide/manual, either in pdf or html that I can download, read, and print as desired?
One of the fellows said it only came with a guide?
I did see the hi res Getting Started Guide, but am looking for the full help.
    Michael

thanks for -all- the responses. That help.pdf is what I am looking for. I will be trying the trial and reading the entire manual, before I buy cuz I need to know what they did include, how they changed it, and what they did not include. I was in the beta for about 5 mos, but need to see 1.0 fer real.
I have already done all the video tutorials, and they did look really good.
The trial will help me see what kinda speed I can get with my 64K* ram, 110GB HD, .25 GHZ machine*
The beta 4.1 was pretty slow in some areas, for me.

  • CS4 extended-Installation-English Language Pack error

i just upgraded from photoshop CS3 to CS4. The installation went fine, except a the end, an error message was in the additional info box, saying:
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack
    Error:
    Error 2.
    LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral
    Error:
I tried running pshop and i got a message "miising components" and it wouldnt start. Tech support in India told me to uninstall CS3 and CS4, stop all startup items in msconfig, reboot and reinstall.
I got the same message. Tech support said they'd get back to me Monday, since there was no "official" tech support on the weekends. BTW, i was on with them for 4 hours.
Anyone have any suggestions. I noticed that even though i uninstalled pshop, bridge CS3 is still functioning.
    Thanks
    hal

    Problem Solved:
I finally spoke to a US tech guy.
He acknowledged I had tried all the simple and radical fixes, so he suggested I upgrade to XP service pack 3 and also to download the CS4 extended again. I did both.
I used Beyond Compare to do a CRC comparison between the old and new Software which found no differences.
I restored my Ghost backup of C: from just before I had removed all the adobe programs, so the PC was back to the original setup before I had the installation problems.
Then I installed SP3, which went well and ghosted the PC again.
Then, just to increase the odds of a successful installation, I did an alt-ctrl-del and went to the processes tab and killed anything which seemed unnecessary (things I recognized, like anti-virus, Norton, update managers, etc).
Finally, I installed from the new download of CS4 extended.
    It worked!!!!!!!
Hope this helps anyone with similar problems.
    Hal
