Download dvd movie to ipod 3g
Please will someone tell me if I can download my own dvd movie to my 3g nano for my holidays soon? I know I can buy movies but I have this already and have not managed to watch it, its called busy girl, (work full time) and would really like to watch it all the way though without my boyfriend switching over as he is likely to do if I try and watch it at home.
Thanks everyone you helped me last time when I made a mess of my new 3g now I really need you.
If you mean commercially released films or TV shows on DVD I'm afraid that can't be discussed as that involves breaking the encryption on them. Such discussions are against the terms of use. DVD movies to iPod video format
I often travell on official business, I am trying to rip a DVD to my ipod. My friend told me that Sothink ipod- converter can convert DVD movies to IPod video format. I have downloaded and try it,I think the Sothink IPod Video Converter is designed to be an easy company for my IPod.
IBM Windows XP noIf you want a really organized package for ripping your dvds into .mp4 "ipod" format use the dvd Decrypter and Videora ipod conveter. They are very organized and they put you in control of the video/audio settings... And it couldn't be easier. Here are the links if you wanna give these FREE programs a shot
Videora ipod converter - http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
Dvd Decrypter - http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/
ps... You need both because after ripping your dvd it becomes a .vob file..Ipod cannot read this so you must use videora to make it an .mp4 "ipod friendly" format.. Reply if problems occur please!!! Thanks... -
THE SIMPLEST WAY TO GET A DVD MOVIE IN IPOD VIDEO IN 2-3 HRS
I just got the Ipod video and got Quick time 7pro and everything but it is not the right software to play a DVD or get a dvd movie into ipod. So i tell you exactly what to do: go to carrydvd.com, find the version for use on symbian and psp. download it to test it or buy it to be able to convert a whole dvd movie. When you have the software ready you just put the DVD in, on the screen go where it says select video quality: PSP (MP4) Hi quality. go to screen size select 320X240 (PSP, PALM OR WINCE) PRESS PLAY BUTTON AND IT WILL COMPRESS. WHEN FINISH YOU GO TO ITUNES AND IN FILE GO TO ADD FILE TO LIBRARY, LOCATE THE MOVIE YOU JUST COMPRESSED AND ADD IT TO THE LIBRARY, THEN CONNECT THE IPOD AND JUST PUT THE MOVIE FROM THE LIBRARY TO THE IPOD AND IS READY. I JUST GOT IN MY IPOD TROY WITH THE QUALITY OF A BOUGHT VIDEO OF ITUNES MUSIC STORE.

Hi
Is t possible to import a dvd movie into ipod? If so, how?
Regards
DSYes, it is possible. The basic process is to convert the movie from the MPEG-2 format of a DVD to a format the iPod supports, typically a variant of the MPEG-4 standard known as H.264, & add it to your iTunes library. This will require significant processing power & time, especially if you want the best compromise of quality & compression. With a G4 Mac, expect the process to take quite a few hours per hour of content converted.
Several applications will do the conversion. Many include presets for iPod-friendly "one button" conversions that do not require any knowledge of which formats the iPod will support.
HOWEVER, note that the legality of copying ("ripping") almost all commercial DVD releases to other media for any purpose is questionable at best, & certainly so if you do not own the DVD or have specific permission or a clear legal right to do so. This is not the place to discuss the nuances of the Fair Use principle or the implications of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, so all I will say about it here is respect the property rights of others just as you would want them to respect yours & don't steal movies.

Transferring DVD movies to iPod w/Video
I bought the new 60g iPod w/video soley because I thought I could transfer and watch DVD movies (the hollywood kind), onto my iPod the same way I did with music... Can anyone tell me how to do this? I have DVD "One Click DVD" burner software on my PC and when I try to import into iTunes it's not recognizing the file. Can anyone help me out with this???!!!
Also, anyone know when they will release a decent case, the one that came with it is pretty lame!Sorry, Jeff, but commercial video DVDs are copy-protected. Breaking the copy protection is illegal in the US, so discussing ways of doing it are not allowed here (since the US courts have been holding in some cases that even discussing in print such cracking may be illegal). If you're outside the US where such de-encryption is legal (though it's up to you to make sure that your use of the material is legal), search around the net and you'll find places that can provide tools for de-encrypting the files for use.

Downloading videos/movies to ipod
is it possible to download a movie to your ipod straight from windows media player or iTunes, havn't found a way yet. do i have to download a decrypter or is there a faster and easier way?
If your movie contains multiplexed flies ("muxed"), then Quicktime won't do it. You'll end up with video and no audio for your movie when playing it back on your iPod.
See: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302588
You'll need a 3rd party converter. Check out the recommendations on these forums for Windows use. -
I have QT Pro. Can I use that to convert DVD movies that I own to my iPod? If not, is there a way to do it?
I have QT Pro. Can I use that to convert DVD movies that I own to my iPod?
Not by itself. You would sill have to use additional utilities to rip, extract, strip, and/or preconvert before it would be ready for QT Pro to handle.
If not, is there a way to do it?
I believe "You get what you pay for" and so would probably recommend a good multipurpose commercial application over a one of the current "freebies" or multi-application approches. Here are a couple you may wan to look at or trial test:

Is it possible to download DVDs to your iPod? If so please help me!
I have been very discouraged because I have tryed to get this DVD onto my iPod, but it's not working. I was wondering if it is possible at all to download them, and if you can I would like to know how. Thanks very much!
I really don't know how you would do this--but here is my suggestion. Please give it a try!
Search versiontracker.com for a program called Handbrake. It will convert the information from the DVD to a Quicktime file (.mp4 I believe). I don't know if/how you will be able to get the file onto your iPod and view it though . If I find any information, I'll let you know.
Edit: check this tutorial for how to get the video on your iPod. You can skip to step 6 after Handbrake has finished encoding your video. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/creatingvideo.html I do not know if the .mp4 filetype will work on the iPod -
Is there a way of downloading DVDs onto my IPod without burnig it?
I want to put my DVDS onto my ipod, but through itunes rather than burning it, as i know that you can do it with music. Is this possible? (legaly) Or will i have to buy it?
On the iPod. swipe the songs left or fight and a Delete button should appear. Tap it.

Is this possible? I insert a dvd movie but iTunes does not see the DVD, any suggestions or ideas?
iTunes does not RIp DVDS. you can rip the content out with other programs but unfortunately unless you own the rights to the DVD, it's illegal (DMCA) and a forbidden topic on these forums (see terms of usage)
