  • What is itunes download error -3253

Ever since I updated iTunes, I can't make download updates on my apps. I keep getting error -3253. Any ideas?

Apparantly don't know enough about DNS entries to be messing with them. I have a "fixed" IP address, but I don't know if that relates to DNS entries. I appologize for appearing to be the dumbest one on this forum, but is there anything that could be impacted by changing the DNS? I work from home and cannot risk my system setup for iTunes. For the past 3ish weeks I get 5352 errors continuously and have to babysit anything I download. I'm on a Mac, latest v of iTunes, nothing has changed on my end. iTunes has worked fine for me for years until now. I've tried other fixes (unchecking simultaneous downloads, resetting the router). Frankly, if Apple expects me to go through this to download from iTunes -- I want out -- it's over my head. I wish for fewer updates and better stability.

  • App Download Error -3253

I have been receiving an error when downloading app updates. Apps begin downloading and I get this error on about 9 out of 10 downloads.
"XX MB of YY MB - stopped (err = -3253)
The app downloads can be restarted manually line by line and take 4 or 5 restarts each to complete a successful download. The problem seems exclusive to this one machine.
    iTunes 10.6.3.25
    Windows 7 x64

I've been having this issue as well - I'm running Windows 7 x32, iTunes 10.6.3.25.

  • Getting error 3253 while downloading ios 6.1.3 on windows 7.

I am getting error 3253 while downloading ios 6.1.3 on my windows 7. I am having version 11.0.2.26 of i-Tunes. I tried downloading manier times but not worth after downloading half of the size i lost my network connection and error -3253 pop up.  I also turned off windows firewall but nothing is worth. Prvious time when i was running with microsoft xp i just download internet explorer 8 and it fixed my problem, but i don't get solution for windows 7, Please help me out

    "Error 3000" through "3999"
Alerts with codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try removing the proxy settings, or using a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
    Hope it helps

  • Error -3253 while downloading a movie.

Lately I'm Getting Error -3253 while downloading a movie. I'm using Apple TV (First Version) with 3.0.2 Software. Download stops about every 2-3 percent.
    WHy is the question.

I just spent over an hour on the phone and working through Remote Advisor w/an Apple Technician (AT) going through a plethora of troubleshooting items - all to no avail.
The AT did provide me with his/her specific contact information and promised to get back to me with an update within 24-hours.  Although there is no resolution at this time, I do at least have the comfort knowing that this issue has indeed been forwarded to the Engineering team for them to review and address.
I just hope that this is resolved sooner rather than later.
And as an FYI I did suggest that they check out the Community Forums to get better understanding that this is not an issue specific to me alone but to a much broader group.

  • How do I get purchased music to download?  I've received an error .3253

I purchased an iPod Shuffle today.  I have tried twice to download purchases from iTunes and receive an "error .3253".  States that the connection has been re-started.  My internet connection is just fine.  Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

    HOW DO I DO THAT?
I have copied them on my Windows7 laptop to a flash drive.  When I look at the flash drive while I'm on the laptop it all looks to be there but then when I get on my MAC with Snow Leopard the only thing that shows are the selections that I added myself from my own cds.
This is making me crazy because I need to get these backed up so I can send my computer in and in case they delete whats on my hard drive i do not want to lose any of my i-tunes and I already lost some last summer when someone stole my computers.
I was supposed to mail my laptop in a week ago but still trying to do the itunes copy so I can transfer to my MAC.
Is there a way to copy just one selection to the flash drive?
When I open it up it has  stuff like
It has 4 folders: Music, Videos, My DropBox, Pictures
    and a file called purchased.txt,
a file called desktop.ini  with exec on the icon
and a file called Itunes Library with exec on the icon
A folder that says Music and when I open that there is another file labeled Music and then A folder that says Itunes and also in that is a Folder that says Playlists
Inside the 1st Music folder is another music folder and inside that is a folder called Itunes and one called playlists
and a file called desktop.ini with exec on the icon
when I open the Itunes file it shows a folder called album artwork, a file call itunes itunes library.itl with exec on the icon
a file with itunes genius.itdb and exec on icon
and a file with itunes library extra.itdb
if I click on the itunes library.itl then it opens up to my copied selections that I got off cds.
if I click on the other two .itdb files it does nothing
inside the album artwork are two files : download, and cache and you can click on those and get files with number like 03, 15
    NEVER THE ITUNES LIBRARY

  • Error 3253 Network Connection was reset

This is my first experience with iTunes and it may be my last! I am trying to download from iTunes. Several times the download has progressed for 9 minutes, but then when I reach 7.8 of 7.9MB completed the download stops and it gives me "error 3253." I tried contacting support and have tried everything they suggested; clear temp files, MSCONFIG services, open ports in Trend Micro, turn off Windows Firewall, etc. I also did the Run Diagnostics in iTunes and received "all tests passed." It would seem to me that if it will stayed connected for 9 minutes then it is not a connection setting problem. Any ideas?

What exact title is it? Sometimes if you post that, others will chime in and say they have a problem with that exact same thing, which could point to bad content on an Apple server.

  • Movie Download Error - Network Connection Resetting

I've tried to download The Shaggy Dog at least nine times on two different wireless routers; three different computers; via both McAfee and Norton as well as with all virus/firewalls turned off. I've tried it through the wireless router and through an ethernet. I've deleted all *.tmp files and tried again. No luck.
iTunes shows error -3253 which is a "connection reset" message.
What could be wrong? I do not have any privacy software installed. I was able to download other files; although I had intermittent problems with a 30 minute episode of "The Office".
I should get a refund or get this movie for free given the hours I've spent messing around trying to download.
I'm not sure whether to purchase anything else from Apples again - not knowing if I'll be able to download the files.
How do I get some help directly from Apple?
    Extremely frustrated.
    Please advise. April

    Hi chachirims!
You have gone through some great troubleshooting steps, but if the download is still stuck after the options you have tried, then we might need to go ahead and restore the iPad. You will want to make sure you have a good back up of your data, and you can find instructions on how to do that here:
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
You will then want to follow the instructions in the article below in order to restore your operating system on your iPad:

  • Error 3253 when using Itunes store

I keep getting error 3253 when I am trying to download from the itunes store. I have restarted itunes/my computer/my router to try to get this to work, but no dice. Podcasts are downloading fine, the internet is otherwise working fine. I also made sure my itunes was up to date and even reinstalled it just to make sure. Is something wrong with the store? It seems to be the only thing that is giving me issues. Thanks for any help.

Update: still not working. I thought maybe it was an issue with this certain show (Big Love - Season 2), so I tried buying one episode of Fringe (another show I would like to get into) and the same problem continues. Finally, I bought one song to see if it was a file size/type issue, but nope. Can anyone please help me? This is really irritating... Will they still charge me for these even though I cannot download them?

  • Error 3253 when updating Apps in iTunes

For a few weeks now, I can't update apps in iTunes on my iMac without having an Error 3253 : reinitializing of the connexion. The configuration of my Mac has not changed and I don't have this problem when I connect from my iPad or when I download on my Mac a new app.
I have checked forums about it but found no solution.
Could someone give me a solution ?
    Thanks

I had this same issue and it ended up being a firewall on my router. Check out your firewall settings on 3rd party software you may have installed as well as your router firewall.

  • Error -3253; help

I am getting this error when ever I download content from the itunes store.  It will often times happen
when updating apps.  It especially happens when downloading tv shows.
    Any and all suggestions appreciated.
I have tried to find this error code with out success.
    thanks again.

None of those suggestions are of any merit. The error -3253 report is cropping up all over the support fora right now.
This appears to have begun about a month ago - at least, in the most recent incarnation - and it happening on computers with hardwired conenctions; computers with wifi; computers with DSL; and computers with fiber connections.
ISP's known to be affected are Comcast and Suddenlink in the US; there are reports of UK and German users having this problem as well.
Changing DNS settings has no effect. Current versions of iTunes and MacOS have the same kinds of problems as older installs.
Allowing simultaneous downloads or forcing one-at-a-time downloads has no apparent effect. Changing hardware settings (getting into flow control, MTU, etc) in the Network control panel has no apparent effect.
The only single constant in the entire equation is that it's iTunes content being downloaded from Apple servers. That leaves one conclusion to draw about the source of the problem. Something is going wrong with the way the content is being served out by Apple.

  • Download error in (osx) adobe desktop app (corrupted download link).

Here is a discription of the problem. Please consider that some of the wording might not be correct, as I do have to translate the error message from German into English.
Using OSX 10.9.2, when clicking inside the adobe desktop app (top of the screen bar) on the tap "apps", the following screen (screenshot) appears, which states, translated from top to bottom:
    download error
    download error. Please contact support.
    (link) contact support
(link/button) download creative cloud -> This button unfortunatly leads to the following error page "http://www.adobe.com/special/errorpages/404.html"
All apps, like Bridge, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. are installed and work just fine. So no problem here. I seem however unable to redownload the desktop app (in order to reinstall). As stated above the provided link inside the desktop app itself is coruppted and within the (online) web-based download centre (user logged in) I am only adviced to use the desktop app. This is a dead end and I do not know what to make of this error, let alone solving it. Please help!

I am sorry Romsinha but this doesn't really help.
I already restarted the desktop app and while I am obviously online and connected the problem (error message) remains the same. Information within the "home" tap is recieved/loaded  (little blue spinning wheel) stating that various apps recently have been updated. Yet the same loading wheel within the "apps" tap results in an error. My best guess is that some internal link within the app is corrupted, leading to a source on a server that can not be reached.
    UPDATE
I clean uninstalled adobe creative cloud as discribed in the article you provided (using the cleaner tool) and even uninstalled the browser plugin. After downloading and reinstalling creative cloud the problem however remains the same. "Apps" tap still shows the same problem. "Home" tap now displays the following:
