  • Download error 9006

    hi.
i was hoping someone might have some suggestions for a cure for this.
trying to rent a film, all fine and good. entered itunes account etc. but when i come to download i get an error. and when i goto the general/download menu. it repeatedly immediately comes up with "download error 9006".
i've tried switching it off and on again.
the wireless connection seems good. its managed to sync a few new photo's and home vid's from my pc just fine, and has performed a network connection test.
nothing seems to make any difference. and can't find anything sensible on the apple site.
its a 140gb model running software version 2.3.1 if this makes any difference.
    thanks
    alistair.

traffic shaping prioritises "core" services, so web browsing and email are not affected.
P2P traffic and video sharing/downloading are the services that are often throttled (sometimes to the point where it's not usable).
all ISPs do this (even the ones that say they don't).
Sky's broadband services all do this expect for the 16MB Max LLU package which has no throttling or download limits (the 8MB services has shaping during peak times and a 40GB a month usage limit).
apple have no control over this and will give an error message that is relevant to the problem in question (ie problem downloading the file). it has no control over what throttling an ISP is doing and is unable to tell if throttling is the issue or not.

  • TS3694 Need help for ipad 3 download error 9006

Have downloaded Itunes app and iphone5 IOS 7 successfully.
Have installed IOS7 on Iphone 5 it works great.
After Iphone successful install I moved to my Ipad 3.
I get download error 9006 when connecting Ipad 3 in middle of the download.
    I have rebooted both Windows7 and Ipad3.
I have tried 3 times. I get the error.

Launch iTunes on your computer and see if you have available downloads. After you open iTunes, click on the apps tab on the left side under the Library heading. You will see a window with all of the apps that you have purchased. If there is a number next to the word apps - say the number 2 - that means you have available downloads. Look in the bottom right corner of the iTunes window and there should be a message sating 2 downloads available. Click on that to get to the next window and you may be able to finish downloading the stuck apps in there.
Do this first and then worry about deleting the apps from the iPad. I want you to see if you can finish downloading them in iTunes on your computer - then sync - then delete.
    This is step one.

download error 9006.  internet intermittent. Tthis is normal for where we live, it just drops for a second and everytime it drops you have to start over with the download, is there a way to pickup where it dropped off?

  • Download error with the iTunes store

I've been trying to download All the Bird Songs of Britain and Europe from the iTunes store for the past couple days.  I just get a message that says "Error with the iTunes store.  Try again later."  Anyone have any suggestions?

What steps have you tried to resolved it? Have you tried signing out and back into your account? If that doesn't work, contact Apple.

  • Movie won't download, error 9006

Hi! I recently attempted to download 6 movies at one time. All were successful except for the last one, which will start to download and then say error 9006, check for purchases. I check for purchases and the same thing happens. This also happens when I click the resume download button. Can anyone help me to fix this problem, so that I can download the movie? Thanks!

everything and anything i tried wouldn't work until today when i wasn't even trying here's how you fix it.
With your internet connected go to tools
-go all the way down to internet options
-click on the security tab-go to custom level
there will be a list there enable anything that has to do with downloading
-right below the list it says reset custom settings
-in the drop down menu change it to Medium-low
then click reset. When you are done click on apply, this might take a miute. When it is done. Click Ok
If this doesn't work you can email me at [email protected]
    -Hope it helps

  • Apple tv download error 9006

My apple tv ( first generation) when downloading a movie I get an error 9006. What is wrong and how do I fix it?
    Chuck

I think you've linked to the wrong thread.
Generally speaking its a network issue when downloads fail to start or complete, in many but not all cases a restart is enough to get things working again.

  • How do I solve for podcast download error -50 on iTunes 8?

I've recently set up my work computer with iTunes, as I now have an iPhone. In trying to download any free NPR podcasts (e.g., Fresh Air), I can subscribe to it but when I try to download, the orange spinning circle shows very briefly, then I get a grey exclamation point. Clicking on the "!" reveals error message: There was a problem downloading "Podcast name". An unknown error occurred (-50). Please check that the URL is correct and that the connection to the network is active and try again.
I'm using a Dell with Windows XP Pro Server Pack 2, with the iTunes 8.0.1. At home, I also have a Dell but with an earlier version of iTunes, and I'm not getting the error.
I have already tried deleting the podcasts from my library (including the cache), and resubscribing. I've tried to manually add the podcasts using the URL (through iTunes).
Any guidance would be very appreciated. I'm feeling lost with out my morning podcasts!

Any solutions to this problem? It always happens to "Car Talk" and "Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me".

  • Podcast download error=9006

    Hi there,
I'm trying to download podcast files which are suddenly all ending in an error message err=9006.
The files are about 230MB large and when the file reaches 200-210 MB the error occurs.
Downloading is done through an iMac. I checked Apple support but only found iOS suggestions.
Any ideas what could be the case??
    Cheers

Ok i think it is fixed!
i uninstalled my NOD32 virusscan. Windows Defender i disabled completly and windows firewall i set back to std settings.
This all together made it work! I don't know why cause i disabled virusscan and firewall but didn't work. When i put the firewall back on the problem was back. Then changed it to the std settings and now it can stay on!
I don't understand but it worked!

  • Download error 8003 on itunes 10.5 on Win XP Pro

Does anyone know what this error is? My windows xp pro was recently upgraded to itunes 10.5 to support an iPad. things were ok for a day, now I cannot download the "free apps" i "purchased". I get error 8003 which says "check network connection". I ran the itunes diagnostics which says passed: accessed Store, simulated purchase, etc. I tried to download from directly from/to the iPad and iTouch and get the same error. I "repaired" my itunes installation. Seems like the problem is at Apple or maybe my account information? I enter my password ok for my account, it shows my purchases, etc... Help?!

Try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.
Resolve issues between iTunes and security software
If you can’t open iTunes, download content, sync your device, or use Home Sharing, you might have an issue with security software.
    What you might see
Security software created by companies other than Apple can prevent iTunes from connecting to Apple servers. Sometimes, you might see a numeric error message when you sync, update, back up, or restore your device:
    iTunes won’t open
You can’t connect to iTunes Store to buy or download content
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't back up, restore, update, sync, or activate with iTunes
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't recognized by iTunes
    iPod isn't recognized by iTunes.
    iPod won't sync with iTunes.
Apple TV won’t restore with iTunes
iTunes Error 4 or iTunes Error 6
    iTunes Error 1630–1641
iTunes Errors between 3000–3999. Example: iTunes Error 3004 or iTunes Error 3014
iTunes Errors between 9000–9999. Example: iTunes Error 9006 or iTunes Error 9844
    Get started
First try these basic steps to see if they resolve the issue. If they don’t, continue to the next section.
Set the correct date, time, and time zone on your computer.
Log in to an administrative user account.
Get the latest version of iTunes.
Update OS X or Windows, and update your security software.
    Configure your software
After you update your security software, configure it to let iTunes communicate through the ports and servers listed here. Configuration steps vary by software, so contact the developer for specifics. Blocked ports are often related to numbered errors in the 3000 range.
    Ports: 80 and 443
    Apple servers:
    phobos.apple.com
    deimos3.apple.com
    albert.apple.com
    gs.apple.com
    itunes.apple.com
    ax.itunes.apple.com
    Verisign servers:
    evintl-ocsp.verisign.com
    evsecure-ocsp.verisign.com
Find a more complete list of ports used by Apple products
. You might also need to configure your security software to allow specific services
    to run.
    Remove your software and proxies
If your PC or router is using proxy settings, try connecting to the iTunes Store without using an Internet proxy
. On a PC, you can use the built-in diagnostics in iTunes to test your connections and generate reports
.If the issue continues, disable or uninstall your security software temporarily, but first note any licenses and confirm you can reinstall the software.
Restart your computer and try to connect with iTunes again.
Check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server.
When you’re done with these steps, re-install and re-enable your security software to keep your system safe. If uninstalling your security software resolved the issue, contact the developer to help you configure the software to work with iTunes.
    Test connectivity
If you’re still having issues using AirPlay, Home Sharing, iTunes, or Remote, test the connectivity between the computers or devices in your house. They need to be connected to the same network and subnet.
