'download error' in my itunes downloads iPhone 5

i have a 'download error' in my itunes downloads.  it says 'tap to retry'  but i always get the same error-  "unable to download movie'.    I would just like this errored movie out of my downloads,  but i can't get rid of it

i have the same problem with a twist - i can upload songs from CD's into iTunes - play them all on my pc in iTunes - yet the songs on 1 or 2 of the CD's wont download to my phone - even though they are checked and there is lots of free space on the phone - i can load more CD's into iTunes and again a couple of them wont download into the phone -although they play fine in Itunes

The following Knowledge Base articles offer a few pointers with troubleshooting issues with downloads from iTunes. First thing to try is verifying connectivity to the iTunes Store:

  • Trying to download past purchases from itunes to iphone. Not working so how do I delete these off my iphone to resync on a computer?

    Hi,
I recently tried to download all of my past purchases in itunes to my iphone through the phone itself. I didn't have a computer available to simply sync the music. Some of the songs downloaded with no problem but the rest didn't and an error message comes up saying 'Unable to download songs' and when I click 'retry' nothing happens. These songs cannot be played on my phone and have a stop symbol beside the track title. My internet connection is fine so I don't understand what the problem is.
However, I do now have a computer with itunes that I could sync to my phone but every time I try to sync the songs they look the same on my iphone. I.e. the tracks still have the stop symbol beside them and I keep getting the download error messages. Does anyone know how to delete/cancel these downloads so that I can remove all the music from the iphone and simply sync it to itunes?
Any help would be very appreciated!

Go to Settings > Music and make sure "Show All Music" is off.  Then only actually downloaded music will be displayed.  With it on, you can see all your music stored in the Cloud as well.  That music will always be in the Cloud (until such time as you download it) but it isn't present on your device.

  • ITunes download error  "could not be downloaded at this time"

While downloading a song from iTunes on my iPhone 4S I got an error message that says "could not be downloaded at this time". I have powering down the phone and restarting the download. How do I get the songs to download?

    Hello Bdev15,
I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too.  I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725
If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network.  For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network.  Follow the steps in the section titled "iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch > Music" in the article below to download the songs:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you are still not able to download the songs, you can report an issue with these purchases using the steps in this article:

  • Error (-50) with iTunes Download

I am trying to download a tv show and this keeps popping up. I went to the help page about the message. It said to delete the cache. I went to where my downloads go could not find it. In iTunes download window it is only 1.2k in size. Any help is appreciated.

Never mind. I had searched for the title with 'spotlight' and could not find it. I followed the path from the help page, and there was nothing there. I finally used spotlight to look for folders labeled "downloads." There it was, I deleted the troublesome file and it is downloading just fine now.

  • Download error when trying to download and save on Adobe XI

Since Jan. 26th I have tried to download PDF files and save them and keep getting download error. I have removed and reinstalled Adobe XI several times still having "error" when downloading or saving. This has happened with previous Adobe.

Basically, a business that I work with sent me an email.  I opened the email and it stated, "To open the artist names click here".  I clicked and the adobe xi came up with that message.  The reason that I know that it is in an excel form is because before I got Windows 7 in December, I had xp.  When I had XP I just clicked it and the artist name list would come up in excel with no problem. I have Adobe Flashplayer 16 Active x and Adobe Reader XI 11.0 .10.  So as far as what programs..unable to answer that.  I typically in other cases am able to open pdf files. I had problem opening one other file when I did it was also an excel file.

  • HT1725 I have downloads that have a download error, and won't download. How do I delete them

How do I delete podcasts and movies that won't download due to download error?

AHA, you have Firmware password protection in Mac OS X , disable it & try Option/alt...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1352
It would block usage of all the startup keys, like C, N, T, D, CMD+s, CMD+Option+p+r, CMD +v, Option, and Shift, as well as booting from anything but the Hard Drive.

  • Getting a "Download Error" and can't download any programs or see my app list.

I am using a Macbook Pro with OSX 10.9.1 and I have been paying for and using CC for several months. This week, I had a persistent bug with Ps so I uninstalled it, with the intent of reinstalling to see if that fixed the error. However today when I clicked the CC icon and went to Apps, none of my programs show up. Instead, it just says "Download Error. Please retry again or contact customer support." There was a button to "reload applications" but nothing happens when clicked. I just want to download the programs I am paying for!
I have an internet connection (obviously, since I'm posting here) and have looked through the forums and support articles with no luck. I tried uninstalling CC, using the CC cleaning tool, and reinstalling, but nothing changed except that now I can't use any of my CC programs since they were all uninstalled with the clean. I have restarted my computer and checked my connection. I also waited on hold for live support for a while, but I'm at work and I honestly don't have the time to sit and stare at my screen, waiting, for an indeterminate amount of time.
Can anyone help me with this? I can't do my job without the CC programs so this is extremely frustrating.

I think I have fixed this. Even more googling found me a community support thread where following the advice in #5 and #9 seem to have brought my Apps tab back to life. Specifically, I deleted the folder mentioned and restarted the program. This took two tries to take effect.
Now I am redownloading Ps and will post back if I run into another roadblock. Thanks for all yr help Adobe, that $20/mo really buys excellent support and all the articles were super helpful with my issue. /Sarcasm

  • Download error for I tunes downloaded film

I have purchased a film and tv programme from I tunes. When I try to download it it stops and says download error. This has never happened before andi have been charged help would be appreciated

Under normal conditions dl time relies only on your connection speed and the file size: what kind of internet connection do you use and how long is "forever" approx.

  • How do I solve for podcast download error -50 on iTunes 8?

I've recently set up my work computer with iTunes, as I now have an iPhone. In trying to download any free NPR podcasts (e.g., Fresh Air), I can subscribe to it but when I try to download, the orange spinning circle shows very briefly, then I get a grey exclamation point. Clicking on the "!" reveals error message: There was a problem downloading "Podcast name". An unknown error occurred (-50). Please check that the URL is correct and that the connection to the network is active and try again.
I'm using a Dell with Windows XP Pro Server Pack 2, with the iTunes 8.0.1. At home, I also have a Dell but with an earlier version of iTunes, and I'm not getting the error.
I have already tried deleting the podcasts from my library (including the cache), and resubscribing. I've tried to manually add the podcasts using the URL (through iTunes).
Any guidance would be very appreciated. I'm feeling lost with out my morning podcasts!

Any solutions to this problem? It always happens to "Car Talk" and "Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me".
