Download Error. Itunes Failure.

I bought three songs from itunes, and none of them will download. can I get a refund, or what do I do???
And also, itunes crasshed on me. All my music dissapeared. I was able to get the CD's back on, but what about my purchased music?? How do I get it back? I had over $30 of purchased music on there and it's gone.
Help?
Windows XP   Windows XP   Family computer- four user accounts, msn internet, mcafee virus scan, norton antivirus

I bought three songs from itunes, and none of them will download.
Try the Check for Purchases command under the iTunes Advanced menu. If they continue to fail to download, post back with details (your version of iTunes, how you connect to the Internet, error messages, etc.) and we'll try to help further. One quick tip would be to disable any web/download accelerator you might have on your system. Those can cause problems downloading from the iTMS.
And also, itunes crasshed on me. All my music dissapeared. I was able to get the CD's back on, but what about my purchased music?? How do I get it back?
Are the tracks really gone from your hard drive? Or just not listed in iTunes any more? Check the iTunes Music folder (normally it will be in your My Documents -> My Music -> iTunes folder) and see if perchance the tracks are actually still here and just not showing in the iTunes library listing. If they are there, try dragging them to the iTunes window.
Hope this helps.

  • HT1491 Download Error iTunes on iPhone 4s

I purchased an album from iTunes on my iPhone4s.  It won't downland.  I keep getting an error message.  WHY???

If you haven't already done so then try the 'standard' troubleshooting :
    - log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back and see if it then works
    - disconnect and reconnect to your network
    - do a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear (you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot).
    - close the iTunes store app via the multotasking bar and see if it works when you re-open it : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the iTunes store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.

  • ITunes purchases download errors

I purchased the Lord of the Rings HD bundle last night, and after a few abortive attempts, the movies appear to have downloaded okay, although iTunes seems to think it downloaded the 1st movie twice; there's only the one copy in my library, though...
On a (possibly) unrelated sidenote, I cannot assign one of my custom audio equalizer presets to the 1st movie; the 2nd and 3rd movies behaved fine, but the 1st refuses to take.
It's the 'iTunes Extras' that don't want to download, no matter how many times I try them, and no matter how many times I try them after making sure I have the latest version of iTunes (I do), or quitting and restarting iTunes, or restarting the whole computer....
For the record, iTunes 11.0.1 trying to figure out whether or not I have any files that need downloading causes iTunes to freeze, while it scrunches up it's little head in fierce concentration, freezing the program for several minutes... it then (finally) decides that the last time it tried was not particularly sucessful (ch'uh!!!), it begins the download again, and all becomes right with the world.
This is not the first time I've had problems with the 'iTunes Extras' portion.
I will go as far as to say that I have more problems (i.e. failures) than I have successes, at this point.
For the record, in this instance the error messages I get are the following...
For the Fellowship and Return of the King extras, I get the error message "- stopped (error = -19)"
For the Two Towers extras, I get the error message "- stopped (error = -23)"
The download window states the the full file has downloaded, every time, but fails upon the last step, whatever that step is; i.e. the Fellowship extras file is 1.81GB, which is what downloads, then it faults...
    Anybody got any ideas...?

On an additional note, the window that pops open to tell me there were 'some problems' with several of the downloads states that I should 'check the network connection and try again...' which is what I've been doing for about 24 hours now...
Also, an album I bought just an hour or so ago has failed to download one of the tracks, and doesn't recognize that fact when I ask it to check for available downloads... making me wonder just what the **** is going on over in iTunes land...
    Too much holiday cheer...?
    Not enough...?
Well, it's getting downright frosty over here where I'm sitting...

    Same here.
My biggest problem with the download isn't the space it's occupying. It's that it asks me for my account password every 5 min.
I've been thinking about a factory restore but seems like a drastic solution, there should be an easier way to delete it. Like swipe deleting it like all other downloads.

  • I downloaded latest itunes 12 now when i try to open itunes i get error message 7 with ( windows error 5 ) I have latest windows framework. Help me please !

Take the unpacked components of the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file and move them to the root of drive C:. Try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe which drives the original installer, or iCloud.msi unless you have Vista). You may get a more useful error message regarding any problems during the install.
    msiexec /i C:\AppleApplicationSupport.msi /l*v C:\Log_AAS.txt
    msiexec /i C:\AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi /l*v C:\Log_AMDS.txt

    msiexec /i C:\iTunes.msi /l*v C:\Log_iTunes.txt
    msiexec /i C:\iTunes64.msi /l*v C:\Log_iTunes64.txt
You can triple-click a line to select all of it, then press Ctrl+C to copy, switch to the command box and click the icon at the top left of the window to access the paste menu.  Which components you have depends on whether you've unpacked the 32-bit or the 64-bit installer.
The log files might provide further clues as to what is going wrong.

  • Error message when downloading newest itunes

I am getting this message at the end of download of iTunes "*Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\etc\zoneinfo\America\Rankin_inlet"*
If I go to that library I try to make it so it isn't read only but it remains that way way when I look back in the file. Can remove my files to a different destination and then remove itunes and start over? Anyone with the best possible solution. As I hit the retry message when this error comes up, but then it still has the error. So I hit cancel and it rolls back the installation. Help please!!!

I'm getting an error message "error writing to file, verify that you have access to that directory"
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Hi, can anyone help me because I've been trying to download the iTunes and everytime I am installing it its says --- An error occured during the installation of assembly Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type,="win32",version,="8.0.50727.6195...etc..

Hi, can anyone help me because I've been trying to download the iTunes on my PC ( windows vista ) and everytime I am installing it its says --- An error occured during the installation of assembly Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type,="win32",version,="8.0.50727.6195...etc..Thank you.

it says that Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.
Okay. We've got a broken Windows Modules Installer on the PC, then.
It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
    Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time?

Can't download latest Itunes 10.5 - Keep receiving following error: An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft VC80 CRT.type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195".publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b".pro cessorArchitecture="x86".

OK.  If both of you are Windows 7.  Make sure you go to Windows update (START button, type in Windows Update). Check for updates and update whatever that are available. (especially Microsoft .NET Framework 4 )
After that see if you still get this error message.
The last resort would be to unistall and reinstall the whole thing.
    Follow the steps below:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • Download Error with iTunes 10.2.1 "source file could not be read"

I recently had to restore my iPod due to some issues I was having. After it was done wiping the iPod, a message on my computer told me that after my computer restarted (automatically), I needed to keep my ipod connected so it could re-sync with my backup file. When it restarted, I waited awhile for my ipod to show up in itunes, but unfortunately it never did. I then went to the support page for this, which I have had to do in the past, and I learned that I had to completely reinstall itunes. This is the second time in the past month I have had to do this. I deleted all of the necessary files mentioned on the support page and then restarted my computer. I then went to the itunes download page and clicked download iTunes 10.2.1, the latest version, which is the same version I had before I uninstalled it.
    _*THE ERROR:*_
About 30 seconds into the download, I get an error message that reads:
    "Download Error
/Users/Berry/Downloads/iTunes10.2.1.dmg could not be saved, because the source file could not be read"
This did not happen last time I had to do this re-installation process.
Thanks in advance for any help and sorry for the long post.

Whats the problem with this thing?
One thing i can tell is that i changed some settings in Micromedia Flash, because i learned that they where spying on US, then boom no more download. It stops and tell me it could not be read from the server. Dont remember if it started right after i changed the settings, but its driving me nuts
    dang

  • My songs from iTunes won't download, I went to the downloads tap and all seven of my new songs say "download error, tap to retry" and when I tap on one a message pops up saying " this song could not be downloaded at this time". What do I do?

My songs from iTunes won't download. I recently just purchased 7 songs and they took my money but now the songs won't download to my phone. I have gone to the download screen on the iTunes app and under each song it says "download error. Tap to retry". When I tap to retry a song a message pops up saying "this song could not be downloaded at this time." And it gives me two options. Either done or retry. I have tried to download them many times. I signed out and signed back in on iTunes, restarted my phone, and even checked for any updates. Nothing seems to be working. They charged the money from my card but now my songs won't download. What do I do?

    Hello Bdev15,
I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too.  I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725
If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network.  For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network.  Follow the steps in the section titled "iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch > Music" in the article below to download the songs:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you are still not able to download the songs, you can report an issue with these purchases using the steps in this article:
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase
