Download error on iPhone...

Okay, I buy apps from both the itunes store on my computer and on the iphone 3g. When I purchase from the iPhone 3G I keep getting this silly error that the program has not completely downloaded and that I will need to go to my computer. The problem is, the program has downloaded in its entirety and is completely useable. Sometimes there's a ghost file icon still left, but it's completely there and useable.
When syncing back to the computer, it works as usual. By the way, this downloading "error" never occurred until the update.

You're welcome.
Data created and stored by a 3rd party application is included with your iPhone's backup - which is updated if needed as the very first step during the iTunes sync process.
If you are getting the same problem with all apps, try a reset first, which is done by pressing and holding the Home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release, ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so.
If a reset does not resolve it, the next step is a restore with iTunes. Before restoring, be sure to sync your iPhone with iTunes to update your iPhone's backup if needed.
There may be a problem on your iPhone that is also stored with your iPhone's backup and if so, restoring from your iPhone's backup will restore the problem. If restoring from your iPhone's backup does not resolve it, the next step is restoring your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
Restoring as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup will remove all settings, email account setup info, SMS messages, notes, recent calls, call favorites, and any photos that were captured by your iPhone.
Before restoring from your iPhone's backup or as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, you should import any photos that were captured by your iPhone or that are available in your iPhone's Camera Roll followed by a sync.

  • Mad Men Season 3 Download Error on iPhone 3GS

    Background:
I have an iPhone 3GS running 3.1.2 software. I purchased Mad Men season 3 and it started the download. It downloaded 3 episodes before I was able to sync with itunes and now itunes is downloading the remaining episodes.
    Problem:
The 3 episodes that were downloaded on the iPhone, freeze and play a high pitched squeal approximately 75% of the way into each episode. The elapsed time meter is still moving forward while this happens, so it's not as it stopped playing. It's incredibly frustrating. To further complicate the issue, the episodes that were ultimately downloaded via iTunes, play fine all the way through.
    Solution:
I have no idea... Please help...

The only way that worked for me was deleting the songs in iTunes (both iCloud and Mac while keeping the files). Then updating iTunes Match. Next, drag and drop the album back to iTunes and update Match.
Next, on iPhone, the only way that worked to download them is to actually playback each song in the album NOT "download all" button or even individual download button. If I use the buttons, it downloads part of the song then I get the error message or it stops midway and you can't delete the song from the download queue. Again, the only way that worked for my iPhone was to playback each song without skipping any of them and they easily downloaded on my phone. Hope this helps
PS: The check downloads on iTunes did nothing to me as it never showed the iOS queue items, only my undownloaded purchases from iTunes Store.

  • ITunes Match song download error on iPhone

All songs matched or uploaded sucessfully.
I've tried to download just 1 playlist after enabling match on my iPhone 4, but 3 songs are stuck in download queue in iTunes (phone).
They say 'download error, tap to try again'
When I tap the progress bar shoots up really fast then at processing they fail.
    Anyone any ideas?

    HELP

    Hello there, Momma-Mangia.
When there are issues with downloading content to your iOS device there are a few things you can try. The first is refreshing the applications you are using with the information from this Knowledge Base article:
    iOS: Understanding multitasking
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4211
If an app doesn't respond to your input, or doesn't perform as expected, do the following, testing after each step:
    Check for app updates.
    Force the app to close.
    Restart your device.
    Update your iOS device.
    Learn more about troubleshooting apps.
If you continue to have issues with being unable to download it could be your connection to your w-fi. This article offers a checklist of things to check to go over, just to make sure:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • HT201272 My iPhone won't download music from iCloud only apps. The songs appear to download, then give a download error message just before it finishes. Also the songs won't transfer when I sync the phone to pc, only the apps.

My iPhone only downloads apps from iCloud, the songs get almost finish then I get a download error message. Also the only thing that syncs are the apps, not the music when I sync on pc?

    Hi,
I experienced the same issue as you have. What worked for me is the following:
Go to iTunes store on your iPad. Under Downloads (the icon to the bottom right) you should see the episode that is causing you the issue. Delete this episode (swipe to left). Then retry. This worked for me.
The workaround is far from ideal and Apple needs to find a solution for this as you are not the only one who reported this issue.

This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Usually this is caused by your antivirus or firewall blocking iTunes access to the Internet. It can also occur if the phone is jailbroken or if the computer you are using was ever used to jailbreak an iDevice.

  • Download error, tap to retry on song in download list even though has downloaded and plays on iPhone 5s

I recently downloaded a song through iTunes on my IPhone.
The song downloaded and can be played on the phone but iTunes is still say that the song hasn't fully downloaded. Comes up with 'Downloaded error, tap to retry' that I can't get rid of.
This is strange as the song has completed downloading and can be played on the iPhone in its entirety!

    Hello Bdev15,
I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too.  I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.

If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network.  For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network.  Follow the steps in the section titled "iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch > Music" in the article below to download the songs:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

If you are still not able to download the songs, you can report an issue with these purchases using the steps in this article:

I get a download error when attempting to my iphone 4. "download error..., tap to retry" It continues to show error nomatter how many times I retry. I have tried just about everything I could imagine to fix. power off, exit apple ID, synch with iMac. nothing fixes or clears the error.

When downloading a song from itunes on my iphone I got the download error tap to retry. I tried restarting the iphone, signing out of itunes and restarting but still got the same error, but I can download new songs fine. So I connected the iphone to itunes on my PC, which downloaded the song and sync'd it to my iphone fine. • ITunes Store App - iPhone, "Download Error Tap to Retry"

New iphone 5S, iTunes Store App
At one point during a sync a lot of my music did not end up on the iPhone.  I was on a road trip and wanted the music so I clicked "Download All" on my favorite playlist.  For whatever reason 652 songs would not download, saying "Download Error.  Tap to retry."  I have since gotten home, sync'd and all those songs are now on the phone but the 652 songs remain in the Downloads part of the iTunes Store app with the same error (Download Error. Tap to retry."
I can't get them to go away, does anyone know how I can delete the download attempts?
    Thanks.

    Hi there zblom,
You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.
