Download error when updating apps

I keep getting a basic message saying "Download error.  Please retry to try again or contact customer support."  I've reinstalled creative cloud, but keep getting the same error.  Please help!

Hi ahnawake,
Please refer to threads below where this issue has been addressed:
MAC: Creative Cloud "Download Error" message
Creative Cloud - Download error - stubborn error
WIN: Follow the steps below:
1. Close Creative Cloud Application (up right corner, click on the cog menu and then "Quit Creative Cloud").
2. Please navigate to C:Program files(X86)/Common files/Adobe folder.
3. Rename the OOBE folder to OOBE.old
4. Rename AAMupdaterInventory to AAMupdaterInventory.old
5. Type appdata in the start menu search
     - What I had to do was go to C: > "MyUserName" > Appdata > local > adobe
6. Rename the OOBE folder to OOBE.old
7. Rename AAMupdater to AAMupdater.old
8. Launch Creative Cloud Desktop
9. Introduce CC credentials
10. Select install/update applications
Hope this helps!

Sheena

  • 5002 error when updating Apps Windows Vista

Past week continually getting this error message saying there was a problem with the iTunes Store, please try again later.
I have contacted Apple support by email and have a case number. I have followed the advice given including re-entering payment details, re-installing iTunes to ensure I have the latest version, deleting the SI directory, and other actions.
I can still update Apps in my iPad. Anyone else getting this? Not to happy with unknow error, please try again later
    Bill.
Edit: Also getting occasional error when closing iTunes reporting iTunes has been closed to protect windows.

Just tried again, downloaded App updates from iTunes on my VAIO Vista PC.
Apologies for being so impatient! Still do not like unkown error in iTunes store message as it seems unprofessional not to know what was wrong.

  • Creative Cloud Manager - Download Error - cannot update apps

This is an ongoing issue for me.  Whether it's AAM or the new CCM, when I attempt to access apps and updates I receive a Download Error message (see pic) which will not allow me to update or download apps.
After experiencing this with the AAM in May, Adobe support provided me with a work around which amounted to creating a new user on my machine and installing the AAM for that user.  I was then able to update the apps I'd installed previously and install two more apps on my machine.
Now I'm experiencing this issue again - still for the default user on my machine and now for the new fake user I created per Adobe support's instructions.
I'm using Windows 8, Google Chrome browser (I can't update the apps through Adobe, either).
I'd love to get a handle on this issue and get it corrected once and for all and, hopefully, without having to create another 'ghost' user so I can update and install apps.
    Thanks.

For my particular issue I finally found a discussion from another user who was experiencing what seemed to be a similar problem.  I'm not sure why the AAMUdater folder is wreaking such havoc for some people but not for others.  'Tis a mystery.
I had to unhide the appdata folder (I'm in windows 8):
    Windows key + R
    Type in 'explorer'
    Click on 'View' tab
Tick box next to 'hidden' to unhide
Then I was able to find the AAMUpdater folder:
    users/myname/appdata/local/Adobe/AAMUpdate.
I renamed the AAMUpdater folder to oldAAMUpdater (just to make sure this was the issue) and et voila!  Success.  I could open the Creative Cloud Manager and update existing apps and download new apps.
Thank you, David, for your suggestion.  Since I wasn't having a server error I didn't think that fix would pertain to my issue of the anonymous download error.

  • Download Error when updating Cloud Programs

I received two "Update Failed: Download error. Please contact customer support." error messages. That's it. Just a link to some random generic page. Nothing I have found has helped me, and since I can't contact Adobe directly easily to just get a simple answer.

Jeff, I really appreciate the attention and attempts to help, but you're clearly not reading what the problem is. That link you sent me doesn't help at all. Why? Because it is for connection erros. NEVER did I say I was having a connection error. I said the updater was giving me an error stating it wasn't able to update and to contact support. You then ask me (as well as the link you sent) if I am able to connect to the Internet. OBVIOUSLY I can, because I'm posting this on a website...and I wouldn't be able to read the page from the link if I couldn't connect to the Internet.
    2. Make sure I can access secure sites. YES. I can, but again this isn't the problem, because I haven't had any issues with anything except this downloader, and only from this downloader after your last Downloader update.
    3. Check my hosts file. It's fine.
    4. Check the GlobalSign Root CA certificate. Guess what? The instructions to do that don't work. They give you a link to Install Security Certificate ON WINDOWS, even though that link is in the Mac section. Brilliant.
FINALLY, when I just tried to sign in to respond to this, Adobe reset my password for no reason whatsoever, and now this is the third time Adobe did this after your security breach a couple months back. What is going on over there? I wish I can just buy the lastest CS on a darn disc like the entire last 20+ years, and not have to deal with this faulty failing technology. Obviously there is a problem there, and no one knows what it is, and no one has a solution.
If you HAVE a solution, please help. Otherwise, you're just wasting YOUR time and MY time by giving me links that either don't contain solutions, or don't contain accurate information....or both.

*Erase all content and settings is also a last option to try
-Reset Network Settings, This will erase all WiFi Passwords, VPN info if you set that up and may also remove your Apple ID off the iPhone to be added later. Does not affect actual data content.
-Settings - General - Reset - Reset Network Settings - Confirm - Once iPhone is backup and running proceed to update an App
You may also wish to sync a free app from iTunes to the iPhone. This will carry over your latest iTunes account information and then update App that needs update again. If you feel you need to deauthorize the iTunes account and reauthorize the account more information about this below.

Get a "Download Error" when clicking on the "App" tab of Creative Cloud.

Yeah I finally had to call Adobe and some there did a screen share with me and they took care of it. I am running OSX 10.9.3 my issue was that the latex OSX update didn't communicate with the app. Like I said Adobe did a screen share with me and fixed it for me I think he just uninstalled and reinstalled and I want to say thats what took care of it.

  • Error code 805a0193 when updating apps and install...

Up until Sunday the 12th of August 2012 I have been able to install and update my apps with no fuss. When I tried to install an app on Sunday I got an the error code mentioned above whether through wifi or 3g (for both wifi and 3g my carrier is CELL C)  I get the same error message. I have tried to restore my phone software to previous software prior to recent update and even there I get an error code 801812E0. I also tried resetting my phone to factory settings through the phone and this didn't help.
I'm now stuck and I posted the same message on here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp7-wpapps/error-code-805a0193-when-updating-apps-... I have not received an answer.
The solutions posted on the site for a similar error relate to a DNS issue with wifi since I am using a cellc 3g card connected to a Sitecom wl-326 router and my Carrier is Cell C for my Lumia 800 i suspect it is an issue with Cell C our the current OS update.
    Please Assist
    Country: South Africa
    Carrier: Cell C
    Phone: Lumia 800 phone
    OS version: 7.10.8773.98
    Firmware version: 1750.0805.8773.12220
    Hardware revision number: 112.1402.2.4
    Zune Version: 4.8.2345.0

I'm experiencing the same problem on my Lumia 800 (as well as my girlfriend on her Lumia 710). The workaround is to set your router to use Google's DNS settings (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4), further details here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp7-wpapps/marketplace-download-error-805a0193-ove...
I've tried it and it works but something still needs to be done about the problem itself.
I doubt there is anything Nokia can do about this sadly....

  • Error when updating Playbook OS version via Blackberry Desktop Manager

    Greeting,
I have a batch of old playbooks which having the stack charging issue, but I found that I can update the OS to the newest version (2.1.0.1917) via Blackberry Desktop Manager, then the charging algorithm will be changed to the updated one and go over this dead battery issue. I was able to do so successfully in the past week smoothly on several devices.
But since this Monday, the Desktop Manager is saying "An updated Blackberry Desktop Software component must be installed before you can continue" when downloading the Desktop software and will appear "There was an error updating your software, an error has occurred while downloading the Blackberry Desktop Software. Please try again." and preventing the process. Seems there are some change on the server side starting this week which has caused this problem, but there's no error code to locate the exact issue.
I tried on 2 different computers as well as completed uninstalling and re-installing the Desktop manager, also tried to disable the automatic update as been advised in some threads. So no clue how to deal with it for now. It will be highly appreciate if some one can share some idea.
I've attached the step by step screenshots for reference, where you can find here:

Sorry I can not help you with your problem but perhaps you can help me.
Can you advise where I can find info on "disable the automatic update"?
just ignore the update if you dont want it on the playbook
    for reloading the OS
First I would like you to do a Back Up of your PlayBook using your computer and BlackBerry Desktop Software.
This can be downloaded for free from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
After the Back Up is complete I need you to unplug your PlayBook and then push and hold down the Power Button until the unit Force Powers Off.
Now, while Desktop Software is still open on your computer and the PlayBook Powered Off, Connect the PlayBook to your computer.
You should see and error screen from Desktop Software pop up that has the options to Retry, Update, or Cancel.
    QUICKLY choose the Update option.
This will erase all the information off of your PlayBook and Re-Write the Software back onto it. Once it's complete your PlayBook will need to go back through the setup wizard, and you can then perform a restore using Desktop Software to return your information. The only thing that won't come back after the restore are the apps that you downloaded from App World but they can be easily Re-Installed using the My World feature in App World.
Click here to Backup the data on your BlackBerry Device! It's important, and FREE!

  • How can I get my iPhone to stop promting me to enter my wife's Apple ID when updating apps? I've checked settings for iTunes

How can I get my iPhone 6 to stop prompting me to enter my wife's Apple ID when updating apps? I have verified in settings that my acct is listed in itunes & App Store, as well as icloud. i can download new apps fine. Have shut down phone and re-powered, have tried plugging into my iMac while signed into my iTunes acct. Can't figure out what to do next?

Is the comp a synced device to your apple ID and approved as an active device for this synchronization?
Just cloud the sync once, activate the comp to your apple I'd in iTunes, ensure all software is up to date, turn on home sharing between the devices and you can reinstall the apps from the apple id purchase history via download.
You basically cleaned out the canonical data apple uses to validate all that, which was backup data. Like iOS devices have the purchased option on the App Store now, syncing the devices via the home sharing and properly activating them will give your comp the purchased cloud and free up 10gs of space on the precious solid states smaller drives.
    Hope that helps...
If you need to know the menu to find this info, let me know. But the info is easily accessible in the help menu.
