Download failed at itunes, redownload problem

I just purchased a song, got a notice that the download failed and to try again.  Went back, clicked "buy", respose was "previously bought-redownload free?" and I clicked yes...immediately got a notice that I must register the computer to "redownload".  Problem is that the same computer is the only computer I have associated with my account.  What do I need to do to get my purchased song downloaded.

  • Download failing in iTunes 11

I just downloaded iTunes 11 and downloaded three albums - the first two were fine but the final one is failing with the following error:
"You do not have enough access privileges for this operation"
I am running Windows 7 and have been for some months without any issues but I did try a few solutions already.
    1.  Run iTunes as Administrator
    2.  Run iTunes in Compatibility mode.
    3.  I've installed the registry setting to allow me to "Take Ownership" of all the iTunes folders.
    4.  I've got "Full Control" setting.
    Any suggestions?
It seems weird that 2 out of the 3 downloads were fine........
    Thanks.

I don't own a Mac (I'm on a Window's 8 computer), but since everytime I click on a topic I get redirected to MAc support, I'll post this here. I too have had this problem, just starting today. I downloaded 2 movies from the store, and neither appeared in my movie list. Also, I ripped  few movies from DVD's and converted them for itunes, a process I have done dozens of times before, and neither of them will appear in any video menu. I'm going to attempt to reinstall itunes later to see if that helps; but I sure as heck don't want to do that every single time I get something.
    God I miss iTunes v6.

  • I have a windows laptop and i cant download itunes, it says it will take a few days then a minute in it will just say you can not download, i could download the old itune no problem so what should i do

my brother told me that mac does this because they want people to buy new laptops that our theres, my laptop is only a year old, i want to download itunes because i just got an ipod, please help i really need itunes

Sounds like it also could be your gpu and/or memory. My previous mbp (2007) went through something similar in terms of symptoms, but the lines were more pinkish/purplish, and the cursor arrow turned into a large block of lines. Had new motherboard and 1 ram stick replaced, and now its fine.

  • Download failed but phone still stuck...

I don't know much about these things, hence why I am posting here. In trying to download iOS7 the first time, I got through most of the process - however, in the finishing stages a message popped up on iTunes saying download failed. The REAL problem, however, is that my phone is stuck on the screen showing the download bar; it no longer comes up in iTunes, pressing the home button does nothing - so I'm wondering if it is safe to unplug it from my computer? Will anything bad happen if I do that? I'm scared.....

as are millions & millions of other people.
Plug the iPad into your computer, open iTunes then press & hold both Home & Power on the iPad.

  • Win XP iTunes installation problems

    Please please help!
I've tried everything and I'm going to start pulling out my hair shortly!
I've just purchased an iPod Touch for me and a nano for my girlfriend - but we can't use them as iTunes won't install.
I've installed iTunes as per normal - it created a shortcut on my desk top but then when clicking on it for the first time it pops up the following message:
*iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close.*
*We are sorry for the inconvenience.*
This message has the Send Error Report option, which I click - it takes me to Microsofts Error reporting page which gives me the following details:
    *Download updates for iTunes*
*This problem was caused by iTunes. iTunes was created by Apple Inc..*
    Solution
*A newer version of iTunes is available for download that will address this problem. Apple Inc. recommends updating to the latest version of iTunes to take advantage of security and stability improvements.*
This information is incorrect. I have iTunes 7.5.
I cannot justify the fact that I can't use these two new toys because Apples software won't install .
Please help me! Back at work tomorrow and the commute minus music will be hellish.
    Jamie

I have done a system restore as I think I ruined something prior to this original question.. I now have the classic error:
*The folder iTunes cannot be found or created*
I had previously tried other forums to help fix my issue but alas the problem I previously had happened.
Thus I am back at The iTunes folder problem.
could someone please point me toward a quick solution?
    Thanks!!!

My computer failed and the main drive had to be formatted but all my music was on a separate internal hard drive. So I downloaded the latest iTunes , problem is it has found all my songs but seems to not recognize half of the album data, half of the artists, all of the dates and all ratings data.
I had a large part of it backed up on DVD's but it does not want to recognise them either?
    Any tips?

  • Frustrated beyond belief.   Trying to download the new Itunes 11 version so I can sync my phone.   It goes thru the whole process, says I was successful and then I get a message - "Apple Mobile Device Failed to start----retry, and retry, same message.

On my desk computer, I tried to download the new Itunes 11 version.   I had Itunes 10.  It goes thru the whole process and then says "Apple Mobilve Devide failed to start, Verify you have sufficient privileges to start service.   I hit retry and then I get  Installation successful followed by error 126.   I can not enter Itunes at all now.   If I click on the former icon it says  MSVCR80.dll for error.   I can't even figure out how to ask for support on this website.   I have several devices linked to Itunes and need to sync.

    1. Apple has posted their solution here: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows- Unable to install or open - MSVCR80 issue.

The results show that you have a proxy server set and this can often cause problems with iTunes.
The proxy setting can be accessed in Internet options>>Connections>>LAN Settings.
Try un-checking the proxy server check box.
It might also be a good idea to run a malware check if you didn't know you had the proxy server set.
You can download a free version of an excellent scanner- Malwarebytes here:

  • All of my music was on a hard drive that failed. How do I download them from iTunes match to my new hard drive?

All of my music was on a hard drive that failed. How do I download them from iTunes match to my new hard drive? I know how to do it one song at a time, but I want to know if there is a way to do it for all 10,000 song files at once?

There are some recovery programs out there if you google them - many with free trials. I haven't tried them so I have no opinion.Read any professional tech and user reviews you can find before you try one. I have read here in the past that some have worked for people who have posted here.
To help in the future, have you considered using Jump Desktop - Remote Desktop? I know it won't solve the problem you're dealing with now (unless notes were taken on your computer.) It's in the app store. It's the #1 paid app in the business category and the reviews are great. It allows you to see anything that's on your computer on your ipad. If you take your notes on your ipad then you might want to email them to yourself, put them on Word in your computer, for example, and then if you need them in class, you remotely connect your ipad to your computer and you will see your notes. This way you won't have to rely so much on the cloud. The explanation would be too long here, but you might want to take a look at it. You can use the free trial on jumpdesk.com and then if it works for you, buy it in the app store.
Meanwhile, it's hours since you sent this post. Hopefully others who can help solve your problem who are on this forum now can help you. I hope you get your notes back. Don't give up too quickly.
    Hope this helps.

  • TS5179 I've been bitten by the "Missing MSVCR.dll file" problem when downloading the latest iTunes update (PC w/ Win-7 & Outlook-2007#. 'Have followed Apple's instructions of un-installing all Apple software, and re-installing it. #out of space...??)

I've been bitten by the "Missing MSVCR.dll file" problem when downloading the latest iTunes update, 11.4.62 (on a PC w/ Win-7 & Outlook-2007#. 'Have followed Apple's instructions of un-installing all Apple software, and re-installing it (Ugh).  First result Outlook couldn't find my 1,385 item contact file in iCloud, although the outlook distribution lists were there.  Second result, upon installing iCloud again, I have two iCloud contact files shown in outlook - "iCloud" & iCloud, within iCloud".  1,332 & 1,385 contacts respectively.
Plus an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere.  This is NOT fun at 72-yrs old...!!
So, how do I make sure I haven't lost anythying from Outlook?   Russ-AZ

Interesting response, Kappy  -  Back to original post: "First result: Outlook couldn't find my 1,385 item contact file in iCloud, although the outlook distribution lists were there (therefore, initially I had lost my contact file from Outlook).  Second result, upon installing iCloud again, I now have two iCloud contact files shown in Outlook - "iCloud" & iCloud, within iCloud".  W/ 1,332 & 1,385 contacts respectively.
Plus an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere.  This is NOT fun at 72-yrs old...!!
So, how do I make sure I haven't lost anythying from Outlook?   Russ-AZ"
You can safely assume that I have tried using it!   So, to make things a little clearer:
         1)  I now have two iCloud "contacts files", w/ a different total count. What's the difference?  Why the different toatl count?
         2)  Since re-installing the Apple software (part of the MSVCR" recovery instructions) "couldn't possible affected Outlook", why am I getting an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere.  What's in those files? And where are they?
Probably more important questions get down to:
         3)  Why is a basic Apple product upgrade "screwing-up Outlook"?  This iTunes upgrade, failing to install properly forced Outlook 2007 into a 2-min start-up cycle.  Which was fixed with this "Goat-Rpdeo" of re-installing MSVCR80.dll.
         4)  And under the latest release of iOS-7.0.4 on our iPhones, why is Apple now forcing us to use the iCloud to back-up our contacts, calendars & tasks, vs. allowing these files to be backed-up directly on our PC's via the USB cable?
Thanks again for your interest and comments.  - Russ-AZ

  • Firefox downloads "failed". Have reset FF, been through "downloading problems" trouble doc, and uninstalled/reinstalled FF w/o luck. Safari is able to download.

Recently I am unable to download anything in FF. It briefly acts as if downloading, but the file is corrupted and the next to the file in the DL manager it just says "Failed".
I tried Resetting FF. No luck.
Then I tried all the steps in the "downloading problems" support doc. No luck.
I tried with all add-ons disabled. No luck.
In desperation, I searched for "Firefox" and moved two folders called Firefox, the application, and a .plist file to the trash (still there) and redownloaded Firefox and reinstalled. No luck.
If I click on a .pdf it will be be viewable, but it won't download. It's not just .pdfs that fail, it is any file I try and download.

I have the same problem and I also tried a lot of troubleshooting advices without any success.
The problem seems to be with OS X Parental Control turned on and using a other account than the one of the admin.
The user sl-nw found a short-term solutions (changing back to version 31, working like a charm or turning off Parental Control), yet a long-term solution is needed:

Perhaps Firefox should add a bug fix to their next update.

  • HT1848 I bought Turbo for my kid but the only thing that got downloaded was the iTunes extras. Is there a way to redownload the movie?

I bought Turbo for my kid but the only thing that got downloaded was the iTunes extras. Is there a way to redownload the movie?

You say that 'the only that got downloaded was the iTunes extras' - have you ever download the actual film ? If not then does the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option on your Mac's iTunes find it ? If that doesn't find it then see if it shows in the 'redownloading' area under Quicklinks :
Whether you can redownload the film depends upon what country that you are in, and if the studio/rights-holder allows redownloading. Does the film appear under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your Mac's iTunes
If you haven't been able to download the film, and the above doesn't let you, then try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
