Download free SQL Developer

Why I keep on having problem downloading the software this morning? It keeps on saying my internet connection is not working, but it was connected all the time.
Please help and thank you.

There should be no issue downloading this as we have loads of people who do it everyday. What your getting sounds like a network problem. Is this actually downloading, or does it get bounced at the start. I will ask the OTN guys if the there is any issues with downloading

  • 404 error when downloading Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 (2.1.0.63.73) for Mac

    Greetings,
I'm getting a 404 error when I try to download the Mac OS X version of Oracle SQL Developer. The download page is at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/sql/index.html
And it links to the Mac version at:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper-2.1.0.63.73-macosx.tar.gz
    Which doesn't exist.
Is this the correct forum to report this problem?
    Thanks
    Mick

I don't know what to say: I went to this link
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/index.html
Clicked on Download in the upper right corner, re-accepted the whatever-they-wanted-me-to-accept and then the OSX download suddenly worked. Give it a spin and see if a circuit like that works for you.
    Good luck!

  • Problems Downloading Latest SQL Developer

Everytime I try to download the 64-bit version or the 32-bit version with the JDK included I get an error message about being forbidden.
You don't have permission to access /akam/otn/java/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper64-3.2.20.09.87-no-jre.zip on this server.
    Any ideas?

I executed a query & need to cancel the operation. However the busy cursor won't let me click Cancel (X) icon. Why ?
Also from time to time a simple operation of copy / paste freezes the screen and eventually comes back to life after 4/5 minutes. Why ?
    Platform : Windows
    Version : WinXP2002SP2

  • Trouble downloading Linux SQL Developer

It returns a server error when I attempt to download. Help?

The versions required are in the release notes.
If you install the 64-bit SQLDeveloper you need a 64-bit JDK.
If you install the 32-bit SQLDeveloper you need a 32-bit JDK.
If your operating is 32-bit, you need a 32-bit SQLDeveloper.
Note that you need a JDK not a JRE

  • Download Oracle SQL Developer for Windows

    Hi,
I downloaded the above software, but when I try to open the zip file, I get a message saying "cannot open file, it does not appear to be a valid archive". The size of the zip file downloaded is about 57meg. I tried to download a number of times with the same result.

I have not the problem what you said.
You may download the one without JDK, or change the version of WinZip.
    Good Luck!

You have to provide detailed information about
    1. what you are doing
    2. how you are doing it
    3. any errors or messages you are getting.
All you did is provide #3.
What are you doing? What database and version are you trying to connect to? What connection parameters did you use?

Can some one help provide a URL link to download the SQL Developer for Linux? The official link on the Oracle Website is pointing the Windows zip instead.

  • SQL Developer Download Error

    Dear,
I just finished my training for Oracle Financial Consultant, i need to download SQL Developer to learn and run the queries.
I am downloading from following link
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/sqldev-ea-download-486950.html
    Download
Oracle SQL Developer for 32-bit Windows (This zip file includes the JDK1.6.0_11)
    (203 M)
    To install and run:
    - Download the file above
    - Extract sqldeveloper.zip into any folder, using folder names
    - Within that folder, open the sqldeveloper folder
    - Double-click sqldeveloper.exe
But when i run the application it gives me following error
"The program cant start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"
even though i have installed it twice. but getting the same error.
    Kindly assist me AEAP.
    Thanks

You don't provide any specifics about your OS and so on, but using a SQL Developer 32-bit download which includes jdk1.6.0_11 is the very simplest case. It should work on either a 32-bit or 64 version of Windows.
I have never personally experienced the missing MSVCR71.dll error, but I did experience a missing MSVCR100.dll error when trying out jdk1.7.0 on WinXP 32-bit. The solution was to place a copy of MSVCR100.dll from jdk1.7.0 into the <sqldev_install>\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin directory where sqldeveloper.conf also resides.
In your environment, for whatever reason (whether 64-bit WinXP, Vista, or Win7), the SQL Developer with jre install is complaining about a missing MSVCR71.dll. So I assume a symmetrical solution should work for you: place a copy of MSVCR71.dll into the same directory as sqldeveloper.conf. You should be able to find a copy of it in <sqldev_install>\sqldeveloper\jdk\jre\bin.
Another poster followed this advice and it worked:
    SQL Developer won't start
Also, you may want to check your sqldeveloper.conf file to make sure it contains a line like the following:
    SetJavaHome ../../jdk
    Best Wishes,
    Gary

  • Mirror Sql Developer download for Training Purpose

    Hi all,
I would like to let my student use Oracle Sql Developer for training purposes in University lab. Can I share my downloaded copy in our course site, because for my it is difficult if they have to register an account into Oracle site and then download Oracle Sql Developer. Are there license issues? Thanks

That is a question that only Oracle can answer.

    >
Yes - It's surprising that you even ask that question since you had to agree to those license issues before you were allowed to download the product.
All users need to agree to the license agreement. See

  • Can't download Windows x64 SQL Developer

The download of SQL Developer x64 (Windows) fails within 2 seconds of tryng to save to local disk - filesize is 0 bytes. I have tried from two different machines.
The download of x86/32 bit SQL developer works.
    site used is http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html

I'm afraid Oracle's download server is unreliable. It never affects everyone, but failures happen intermittently and once you get a failure it can be hard to clear the problem.
The problem seems to be that the failed download is cached somewhere - on your local machine, in your proxy server, or at oracle's edge servers. Sometimes clearing your internet cache will help, but there is no reliable solution other than to keep trying.

  • Cannot Download sql developer

    Hi:
I tried downloading Oracle SQL Developer 1.2 Patch 1 (1.2.1.32.13) using the Oracle SQL Developer for Windows (JDK1.5.0_06 is bundled in this zip) download link. I also tried downloading the latest version.
I received the error: "Connection with the server could not be established."
    Thanks

weird, I'm still able to do this. This must be on your network side. I'll ask our OTN management folks to review tho.

  • SQL Developer version 3.2.20.09 and Oracle Diff

It is my understanding that from this version onwards this functionality would be available without licensing but it is not available for use actually, maybe I am doing something wrong or just "bad info" ?
I downloaded jre version 32 bits.
    Thanks!

It is my understanding that from this version onwards this functionality would be available without licensing but it is not available for use actually, maybe I am doing something wrong or just "bad info" ?
You need to provide more information than that.
    1. How did you come by this 'understanding'?
    2. What does 'not available for use' mean? It is available to me.
    3. We have no idea if you are "doing something wrong" since you didn't bother to post WHAT you are doing or HOW you are doing it.  You do realize that you have to have at least two DIFFERENT databases open don't you?. You can't do a 'diff' between databases if you don't have two databases open to 'diff'.
    4. As restated in the PL/SQL Packages and Types doc for the DBMS_METADATA_DIFF package
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18283_01/appdev.112/e16760/d_metadiff.htm
Use of the DBMS_METADATA_DIFF package requires a license to the Oracle Enterprise Manager Change Management option.
Someone from the sql developer team will need to confirm whether the product uses that package and if the free sql developer application  waives or alters that license requirement. My own hypothesis would be that the product uses the package but does NOT waive or alter the license requirement.

  • MS Access 2010 and Oracle SQL Developer Version 4.0.3.16 Error

    OS: Windows 7 Enterprise
    System Type: 64-bit Operating System
I can not get MS Access 2010 to work/open with SQL Developer version 4.0.3.16.
ERROR when testing connection to MS Access 2010
"Status : Failure -Test failed: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified"
I added the 32-bit ODBC data source for the MS Access I am trying to use with SQL Developer version 4.0.3.16 with the "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe" application, but I still get the same error.
I appears that SQL Developer version 4.0.3.16.is looking at the 64-bit driver (ODBC Data Source) and I have no idea to direct SQL Developer version 4.0.3.16 to use the 32-bit driver (ODBC Data Source) when opening MS Access 2010.
Thank you in advance for your advice.

I downloaded the SQL Developer version 4.0.3.16 "sqldeveloper-4.0.3.16.84-x64.zip" that included the jre.
How do I check which Java JDK I am running (32-bit versuns 64-bit)?
In the command prompt I use "java -version" and I get this message "java is not recognized as an internal or external command"

  • Oracle SQL Developer freezes and locks up computer randomly

I attempted to find a solution to this before posting. I looked through the first 40 pages of this forum and on Google, through the Developer documentation, etc. with no luck.
The problem: while using Oracle SQL Developer, the computer randomly freezes. Things work, but it hangs too often and for too long to use. This is random - it can happen every 10 seconds or every 2 minutes. The mouse will lock up, and the keyboard buffer will get all messed up. For instance, if it happens to freeze while I'm hitting "backspace", it will delete many lines of text (I've lost a bit of work because of this in the past). The freezing will last about 2 to 20 seconds, and the only way out of it is to ctrl+alt+delete and kill SQL Developer.
If SQL Developer is running, and I'm in a different window - it will freeze the other windows as well. Again, it's impossible to use unfortunately. My coworker doesn't have the same problem, and he's connecting to the same database with the same version using Windows Vista. It must be something on this computer. I reformatted about 1 month ago, so it's a pretty fresh install and I haven't installed much of anything yet.
    I'm using Windows Vista Enterprise 32-bit w/SP1.
This was occurring with older versions of SQL Developer (1.2). I'm using the newest install that included the Java JDK. I've completely removed Java, my Oracle installs, and a host of other attempts to fix this, and nothing changes. I've tried running the .exe in the bin directory as administrator as well.
    Currently using Oracle Developer 1.5.1.54.40.
    Any ideas?

I tried dumping the contents, but the java dump wasn't showing anything at all, and it would never freeze while I had the console window in focus, so it wasn't very helpful unfortunately.
I fixed this issue by uninstalling the Java runtime on this machine and installing the Java JDK 6 Update 7 from java.sun.com/javase/downloads . I then downloaded the SQL Developer 1.5.1 version without the Java runtime included, and pointed it to the Update 7 .exe file upon first load.
I was using JDK 6 Update 6 previously, and it must have been behind the errors. Note that the Update 7 has to be downloaded from that website as it's a new version that hasn't been posted on the regular java.com site yet.
