Why does Oracle put only a big monolitic
0.5Gb file and not many split files?
Where is the complexity on doing this?
Anyone knows alternate Oracle paths to download 81701 to test ops on Linux?
I try with netscape and konqueror but connection dies after 1 or 2 hundreds of megs
Is this a commercial method to count more

I use ncftp to download the large files because it allows the user to resume downloads which die, but there is a catch to doing so. It is still possible to connect to ftp.oracle.com and get to the directory /pub/www (IIRC, I'm not at the computer that I usually connect from), but all directories and files below that point are hidden, so ls or dir does not return anything. My approach since this changed has been to use Netscape to start the download, to someplace like /tmp. From that, it is possible to determine the rest of the path and the file name for the file you want. I then start ncftp from the directory where I intend to save the file (although lcd could be used to get there after ncftp is started), cd to the correct directory and bookmark it as oracle, and do a get on the file. Once it has started, I stop the Netscape download, allowing whatever was downloaded through Netscape to be lost. Then, each time the connection dies, I run "ncftp oracle" to connect and get to the proper directory, use "get filename" to restart the download, and specify resume when asked (ncftp could be configured to automatically resume, but I haven't bothered). Since I normally use a slow connection that takes several days to retrieve the complete file, this is the only technique I have found that consistently works for me.

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!
I hope this helps, because it was incredibly frustrating. Good luck!

Check your store location is set correctly, if this doesn't help, try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for a 30 seconds.

IBook! I downloaded it, but cannot search for books on itunes!

Are you asking if you should be able to browse for books from iTunes on your computer? If so, the answer is no. You can only access the iBooks bookstore through the iBooks app itself.

I suggest you try the very clean and very forceful AutoLoader method:

Beware that it is completely destructive...the device will be "like new"...no data, no apps, no accounts, etc. Be sure you take a full backup first, as well as make full manual documentation of all apps, accounts, configurations, etc. Sometimes a restore reintroduces the very corruption one is trying to eliminate, and manual reconfiguration is necessary.
You can also use this to fall back to a prior OS if you desire...you can install any OS level for which you can find an AutoLoader. (Hint...search over on the CB site!)

It sounds as if your browser and some of your apps are not color-managed. This is pretty typical. Even IE9 is only partially color-managed.
You can expect color-managed and non-color-managed applications to show you different things with the same images. How different will depend upon how different your monitor color profile is from the image's color profile.
For web publication and most general use, experts usually advise saving images with the sRGB profile. If such images, saved through the Save for Web & Devices function, look different to you than you expect, it may be that your input images have previously been saved in another color space.
You should really try to get your head around color-management by reading more on it. It can seem baffling and it's difficult to understand without some background. A quick web search turns up many overviews. Beware, though, even people writing articles sometimes don't fully understand it.

Can't find download for Acrobat 9 STD--the Acrobat 9 download is for PRO, and my serial number not valid for PRO.

I'm switching to a new laptop, and I want to bring my Acrobat 9 STD with me. Deactivated it on the old laptop, went to the download page for Acrobat 9 and downloaded it, got to the part in the installation where I entered my serial number, and the installation wizard said it was invalid. That's when I noticed the download was for Acrobat 9 PRO, not STD. I used the support chat and explained it to the support person, and he gave me a link for the 9 STD download. Unfortunately, it was the same page. I downloaded it again. Still 9 PRO. Anyone else have any ideas where they're hiding the Acrobat 9 STD download?

Finding the file all depends on how you did the install and if you downloaded the install file. If the install file was downloaded to the TEMP folder, there is a slight chance it may still be there (should be in Windows>TEMP, not sure on MAC). It may have a name similar to the Pro download of AcroPro90_efg.exe. The Pro would be change to Std and I am not sure what the efg stands for. I would search for AcroStd9*.exe. There seems to be a download for AA 9 std available at http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-x-10-pro-reader-suite-direct-download-links-ddl.ht ml. I have no idea if that works. I had found one place where a staff member said he is working on getting links up for all the older versions, not just the trials (that are Pro). I simply searched on Google for Acrobat 9 Standard files. I can't find the message by the staff, but there is one in the last week or two as I recall where a staff member was providing links for folks on an individual basis.

Shortcut for Google Search (Cmd-Shift-L) Linked to Newsfire

I recently downloaded the now free RSS reader Newsfire just to try it. I didn't like it that much compared to NetNewsWire, so I trashed it with AppZapper, thus deleting all the files related to Newsfire.
Now every time I try to use the shortcut for Google Search on a selected piece of text in Safari (Cmd-Shift-L), it tries to link to Newsfire and add a new feed. This is highly annoying and worst of all, I can't figure out how to get rid of it.
The Newsfire site has nothing on it as far as a forum or an email to Dave Watanbe. I've heard the criticism that he's gotten in the past over the way he handles his business, so I've decided to try to fix the problem through these discussions.
Anyone else having this problem?

I fixed it myself with the free Onyx program for Mac.
If you reset the Launch services Database under Maintenance, it fixes this issue.

Firefox 4 is not supported any longer. Firefox 5 and 6 were security upgrades for the 4.0 version, and Mozilla removed the download links to those versions.
Is there any particular reason you don't want Firefox 6.0?
