Download/Install Calendar server separately

Hi,
I am interested to download the calendar server installation as a separate component and install alone. Is it possible? Does Calendar server has any dependencies e.g. pre-existing LDAP etc.
Thanks in advance for help and resposnes.
Regards,
-Amitabh

As others have said, it can indeed be installed standalone. That's how we're using it.
How to do that is described in the Oracle Collaboration Suite installation guide for your
platform. There's a special chapter devoted to installing the Calendar standalone. You can find all the documentation on Oracle's site. I would start here
http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/collab.html
I don't believe it's possible to download just the calendar component, though. I think you're stuck downloading the entire OCS suite.

  • Can I install Calendar Server on another partition other than root file system

    Can I install Calendar Server on another partition other than / ?
    <P>
    In this version, the default path is hard coded to install in
    /users/unison. However, if you do not have enough room on your root
    partition or choose to install it in another location, you can do so
    using a logical link. The installation guide explains this as well.
    <P>
    For example, suppose you want /users/unison, which must NOT already
    exist, to be logically linked to /var/opt/unison, which must exist.
    Then as root user:
    <P>
    <UL>
    <LI>
    Create the directory /users (if it does not already exist)
    <P>
    % mkdir /users
    <P>
    <LI>
    Create the logical link. The directory /users/unison must
    NOT exist before doing this.
    <P>
    % ln -s /var/opt/unison /users/unison
    </UL>
    <P>
    <P>

    makes a lot of sense.  I am looking for an answer myself.  My documents folder long ago outgrew it's place on the boot drive.  It would be nice to keep it in the user folder organized on another disc

  • Cannot install Web Server + Calendar Server

    I would like to install calendar server an RH3 to use with Lightning.
    So I do ./installer &
    I choose calendar server and webserver components.
    But, just in the form after I cannot continue because :
    Valid DNS Domain Name Required.
    The DNS Domain name Provided could not be validated.
    The services being installed require a valid internet domain name.
    Installation cannot proceed untill a valid DNS Domain Name is provided.
    I don't know what to enter in the fill "Name of the DNS domain"
    I read the old post with the same issue, I read the General Installation Prerequisites and following :
    12. If you are installing a communications product component, verify that the domain name of the host on which Access Manager will be installed is set.
    To set the domain name, do one of the following:
    If the file /etc/resolv.conf exists, enter the fully qualified domain name in the domain configuration entry. Example: domain mycomputer.company.com
    If the file /etc/resolv.conf does not exist, enter the following command syntax:
    # domainname fully_qualified_domain_name
    13. Verify that the second column in the /etc/hosts file contains the fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) rather than a simple host name. For example:
    192.18.99.999 mycomputer.company.com mycomputer loghost
    I have severals PC on a domain.
    Please, some one can explain me how to complete my installation ? What I need to enter on the hosts file ?
    Why the installation needs a Internet domain name ?
    Thank you

    - Directory Server Enterprise Edition 6.0 (it seems to be required too)
    include :
    * Directory Server 6 Core Server
    * Directory Service Control Center
    * Directory Server CLI tool
    This is the LDAP Server no ???Correct. Directory Server 6.0 is Sun's LDAP compliant server.
    BUT for the DNS Domain Name : I cannot find it, how to find this name ?At this juncture I should say that a basic working knowledge of TCP/IP network and DNS is required for this software. LDAP knowledge is also essential since you aren't installing the account provisioning tools (delegated administrator).
    this is my etc/hosts :
    127.0.0.1   wcap     localhost.localdomain     localhostwcap is the host nameThe etc/hosts should have an entry along the lines of:
    1.2.3.4    wcap.mydomain.com  wcapWhere 1.2.3.4 is the IP address of your system and mydomain.com is the domain-name for your system.
    this is my etc/resolve.conf
    ; generated by /sbin/dhclient-scriptYour server is given an IP address via DHCP? That is definitely not a good idea.
    What do you get when you run:
    nslookup <calendar servers IP address>
    I tried to enter abcde for the DNS domain name, but w/o successWhen you run:
    nslookup wcap.abcde
    => do you get the IP address of the server returned?
    Finally the installation works with these
    host name : localhost
    DNS domain name : localdomain
    IP add : 127.0.0.1
    etc..
    I hope it will work, for the moment, we need to use the calendar server in our local domain.127.0.0.1 is the loopback address. You shouldn't use this.

  • I am upgrading to Calendar Server 4.0 on NT with more than 9 nodes (or I already have) and my server won't start

    I am upgrading to Calendar Server 4.0 on NT with more than 9 nodes
    (or I already have) and my server won't start.
    <P>
    The steps are the same whether you have already upgraded or are about to.
    <P>
    Calendar Server 4.0 on the Windows NT platform can only support up to nine
    nodes on one server, while 3.51 supported up to 14. If you have a Calendar
    Server 3.51 with more than 9 nodes that you want to upgrade to Calendar Server
    4.0, Netscape recommends that you migrate the extra nodes to another Calendar
    Server 3.51 on another Windows NT system. To accomplish this:
    <OL>
    <LI>Install Calendar Server on another Windows NT machine and configure it to
    use the same directory server as your current Calendar Server.
    <LI>Stop and backup your current Calendar Server.
    <LI>Individually zip up the node directories you want to move to the new
    server. (drive:\unsers\unison\db\Nx
    where "x" is the number of the node you want to use.)
    <LI>Stop the new Calendar Server.
    <LI>Unzip the files into the new Calendar Server in the same place as they
    were on the old server.
    <LI>Edit the unison.ini
    file on the new server to add the nodes you have just migrated.
    <LI>Edit the unison.ini
    file on the old server to remove the nodes you have moved to the new server.
    <LI>Edit the nodes.ini
    file on the old server to remove the nodes you just moved and then add them
    with the new hostname. Keep in mind that you will only be able to modify the
    node network from the old host.
    <LI>Run unidbfix -export
    on both servers for all nodes.
    <LI>Edit the remotenodes.ini
    file on both servers to reflect your node topology.
    <LI>Run unidbfix -import
    to import the changes into the node databases.
    <LI>Run unidbfix -c,
    then -f,
    then -c
    again on both servers for all the nodes.
    <LI>If you don't get any errors, run uninode -test all
    to test if your nodes connections are set properly. If they are not, <B>do not</B>
    start either of the servers; instead, fix the errors and try again.
    <LI>Start both servers.
    <LI>Log in and check to see if you can see people on remote nodes.
    <LI>Notify the users on the moved nodes of their new calendar host.
    <LI>If you did this in preparation of an upgrade, you can now run the upgrade to
    4.0 since both servers contain fewer than 9 nodes.
    </OL>

    Use Disk Utility whihc is in the Utilities Folder.
    Select your Boot Disk on the left.
    Select Verify Permissions
    If any errors the do Reapir permissions.
    You might have to repeat the process.

    Hi,
    We have a newly installed calendar server following the 'single host' installation instructions published at the Communications Suite 7 wiki site. Since last week, we have not been able to resolve an exception we are experiencing when trying to test the installation using the Dav Content Browser. The Dav Content Browser does connect and we can see the login/password authentication in the commands.0 logfile. Regardless of what user we specify, we always get back a '404' result and message indicating 'invalid backend id'. We have verified availability of the MySQL database and login/password settings. Below is a summary of the details we see:
    Request URI: /davserver/browse/home/mmc001/calendar
    Exception Type: com.sun.comms.davserver.services.DavException
    HTTP Status: 404
    Messages: invalid backend id for:/home/[email protected]/: mmc001
    Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hi Shane,
    Thanks for getting back to me. To answer your questions, yes I am now able to use the dav browser using URL http://<FULLY QUALIFIED HOSTNAME>/davserver/browse/home/[email protected]/calendar/ . MMC001 was a temporary ID previously used for calendar testing. Although the above URL works for dav browsing, I have not been able to get Lightning or Evolution working.
    When I try to access http://<fully qualified hostname>/davserver/browse/home/h/mobilemailcentral.com/stuart/calendar/ I get prompted for the login/password and see the following in commands.0:

    Lightning won't connect correctly. I have tried using both 'caldav' and 'ics' settings when creating a remote calendar. Using 'caldav', Lighning's error log returns a DAV_NOT_DAV error and using 'ics' returns:

  • Calendar Server installation gets error "libnmspr20.dll not found"

    Calendar Server installation gets error "libnmspr20.dll not found"
    <P>
    When installing Calendar Server 3.5 on NT near the end an error
    occurs: "libnmspr20.dll not found " and then it will exit the setup
    without completion.
    This is a bug because it is looking for the libnmspr20.dll in the
    system path but the Calendar Server installation has left it in a
    temp directory. This does not occur if the Netscape Messaging Server
    has been previously installed on the same host. A workaround is, when
    the error message displays, you DON'T press ok, but search your
    computer for the missing file (usually found in temp-directory).
    You then copy the file to a directory in your system path. Now you
    can press the OK button and the installation will fail. Re-install
    the calendar server, this time the installation won't fail.

    Installing Latest JRE on NT4 sp6a produces the same error:
    InstallShield DLL Custom Action:
    File 'C:\TEMP\RegUtils.dll' can not be found. Make sure the file is on the target system or installed already.
    I searched www.installshield.com since the error is an installer error and the installer is InstallShield. NO results found there either.
    Seems like the installer team needs to brush up on the NT4 platform.

    I've tried several combinations, and sometimes it works.
    The disappoint fact is that even with the same combination of the settings, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
    Sometimes it just work. Sometimes it doesn't...and after rebooting it works again......Sometimes even rebooting doesn't help.......Sometimes when change MaxPermSize to a smaller number it works...and next time it may not work again....Sometimes you change the MaxPermSize to some other number, save, and then change it back,,,,and it works again...but next time you try to use it, it may not work..........
    I don't know what leads to these problems.....anyone could help? Thanks in advance....

    Hi,
      This is from the documentation -
    Database: Third Party JDBC Drivers
    The Third Party JDBC Drivers pane specifies drivers to be used for connections to third-party (non-Oracle) databases, such as IBM DB2, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Sybase Adaptive Server. (You do not need to add a driver for connections to Microsoft Access databases.) To add a driver, click Add Entry and select the path for the driver:
    For Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive Server: jtds-1.2.jar, which is included in the jtds-1.2-dist.zip download
    To find a specific third-party JDBC driver, see the appropriate website (for example, http://www.mysql.com for the MySQL Connector/J JDBC driver for MySQL, http://jtds.sourceforge.net/ for the jTDS driver for Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase Adaptive Server, or search at http://www.teradata.com/ for the JDBC driver for Teradata). For MySQL, use the MySQL 5.0 driver, not 5.1 or later, with SQL Developer release 1.5.
    You must specify a third-party JDBC driver or install a driver using the Check for Updates feature before you can create a database connection to a third-party database of that associated type. (See the tabs for creating connections to third-party databases in the Create/Edit/Select Database Connection dialog box.)
    Alternative:
    As an alternative to using this preference, you can click Help, then Check for Updates to install the JTDS JDBC Driver for Microsoft SQL Server and the MySQL JDBE Driver as extensions.
    Regards,
    Mike

    Did you read hardware and software requirements before installing SQL Server 2008 R2. I guess you are missing .Net framework. AS per
    This Doc
    You need to download and install .Net framework 3.5 SP1 and requirement is more if you are installing express edition. Its all mentioned in link
    You can also refer to

    i have a problem, i bought lion but when i want to install he said me i need to "download osx lion server" i'm running with the last lion beta. how to update please?
    ps: sorry for my english :S

    You apparently are using a version of OS X you did not purchase using your Apple ID. Although you can download Mavericks you cannot install it over your current system. You must repartition your hard drive, then reinstall the version of OS X originally installed when it came new from the factory. That would be on the installer discs that should have come with the computer. If the computer did not come with discs from the factory but OS X was pre-installed (Lion or Mountain Lion) then you can perform an Internet Recovery:
    Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
    Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
    Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your external hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • "A Suitespot Server" tab disappears after Calendar Server install

    After installing another Suitespot server and then Calendar, the tab from one
    of the other servers disappears. I reinstall that server, then the Calendar
    Server tab disappears!
    <p>
    Using a text editor, verify that the suitespot_server_root/admin-serv/config/servers.lst
    file has no extra white spaces or erroneous chars in the front or end
    of each line. If there are, delete the extra character and reload
    your admin page. Then, make sure you see each one of your servers listed by an
    on/off button.

    If you have the Z68MA-D2H-B3 board, go here and get the UEFI update.
    http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3975#bios
    UEFI is the BIOS replacement. Once that is done you can use USB 3.0 with Win8 and Hyper-V. Oh, and the computer boots about twice as fast. At least that was my experience.  There is a list of Gigabyte utilities that need to be removed first, so read
    the instructions well.
    "(Note) Some GIGABYTE utilities are not supported under UEFI BIOS architecture. Please remove Smart6, Dynamic Energy Saver, Smart TPM, and Touch BIOS utilities before updating the BIOS."
    I used a FreeDOS bootable USB to apply the update, since you can't do it from inside Windows or through the BIOS updater.
    http://rufus.akeo.ie/
    You may need a clean re-install Win8 afterwards. I did it out of habit, so I don't know if it will pick up the changes and work without it. Back your stuff up first just in case you do.
