I download the Adobe Flash player installer , but i can't install the Adobe Flash player! I open the file, the response is:Only a single instance of this application can run,what does it mean?And what should I do?

The below screenshot is the error message I receive when I attempt to install the software. I downladed the software again thinking there might have been an issue during the download, but I experience the same problem with the error messsage? The installer's certificate is expired (expiry was Dec 15, 2012). Unfortunately, Apple's installer app doesn't tell this very obviously.
Here's what you can do to install the application:
Open "Terminal" app (you can use spotlight to open this)
On the command line, run the command: open -a Installer
Go to the mounted volume of the DMG (its name should appear as "Lightroom 4.0" on the left hand side), and click on the .pkg file within it
It will give you some warnings about certificate. Click "Continue"
Proceed with the rest of the installation
I faced the same issue today, and eventually figured out the root cause and used the above to install. Can't believe Adobe would ship out a software with an expired certificate.

I can download Lightroom 5, but cannot install it.

So here I am. I am running OSX 10.9.4. Everything is updated. I ran the 'repair disk'.
I actually JUST bought this MacBook Pro today. I was able to download my previously bought Photoshop CS6 and install it (I actually have a physical disc for that), but I am having trouble with Lightroom.

I copied the Lightroom 5 app from my iMac, onto my Macbook via flash drive. It was instantly installed, and I just had to type in my serial #'s to make it official.

Can't believe no one tried to help you. If it is saying it's installed, have you tried to reboot while holding CMD and R together? it'll take you to the partition of Lion that has the install information, try re installing your os after verifying the disk in disk utility (also available after hitting cmd R). Instead of a disk, Lion makes a partition in your main HDD/SSD. The idea is you'll never have to boot from your original CD again.

Can download, but cannot install

Try this:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Now try your updates again to see if the problem is fixed. Now, this same error can pop up in App Store if you are trying to install updates for software that was purchased under a different Apple ID than the one you are logged in with.

On pressing retry I got the same message.
On pressing Ignore, I got the message “ITunes was not installed correctly, please reinstall ITunes – Error 7 – (windows error 126)
I reinstalled with the same error messages and the same results.
I uninstalled existing and reinstalled from scratch and the same error messages again.
I try to repair and at the end it said it had installed correctly – but when it tried to start I got the message “This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem” I now get the same message when I first start the computer but when I press ok I receive ““ITunes was not installed correctly; please reinstall ITunes – Error 7 – (windows error 126)” again.
It appears the update has not only corrupted the operating system (Xp Pro SP3) of my computer but I have no backups to my IPhone, my wife’s IPhone or the three others phones that use my computer.
I hope you can advise me how to recover my backups

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I have downloaded an app but cannot see the icon. I have tried to download again from app store but it says it is installed

Do you have restrictions enabled on the iPad? Settings>General>Restrictions? Maybe that is why you cannot see it. Have you swiped from screen to screen to look for it?
You can search for the app to confirm that it is on the iPad, but that will not show you the location of the icon and if the app store says it is installed - then it is installed. But this would let you access the app. Swipe from the right in your first home screen and the search feature appears. Type in the name of the app to find it. you can tap on the icon to launch the app.
Try restarting the iPad as well and maybe the icon will show up. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
This may even help if all else fails. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Look in your download's folder and if it's already in .app format drag it to your Applications folder. If it's a .mkg file open it and follow the on-screen directions.
