Download iPhoto on Yosemite 10.10.3

Since I upgrade to Yosemite. 10.10.3, I am unable to download iPhoto. Any solution?

Did you look on  your Purchases page? Try downloading from there, not from the App Store listing. You cannot re-download it if you already have 9.6 installed on the computer you are using to access the App Store. If 9.5.1 is installed then put it in the Trash for now.

  • Cannot download Iphoto with Yosemite

    Updates to Yosemite.
Cannot open the current version of Iphoto. I cannot download the new version on the Appstore (link dead).
Can anybody help me with that?

    You need to be running Yosemite in order to download and run the latest version of iPhoto from the App Store.  Your profile shows you running 10.7.2.  You'll need to update your system before you'll be able to download iPhoto;

  • Download iPhoto for Yosemite before it's superceded by Photos

I hear that the successor to iPhotos (and to Aperture, for that matter), Photos, is presently in beta test.  I am still running Mavericks but would like to download the current version of iPhoto to a USB stick for installing it once I have upgraded to Yosemite.  Is that possible?  I have invested way too much time and energy manually assigning places to photos to take the risk that Photos will not support that feature.

Thanks for replying.  Geotagging in iPhoto is a real nightmare.  See numerous threads on problems with Places in iPhoto which I have started.  The problem boils down to an incorrect model of places which does not permit them to overlap without risking one overlapping place "gobbling up" all the photos assigned to the other.  I'll want to ensure that Photos supports geotagging and that I understand what it does when two user-defined places overlap before I migrate my 400 GB iPhoto library to Photos.  That's why I don't want Apple to replace iPhoto by Photos in the App Store before I've had a chance to upgrade Mavericks to Yosemite, then upgrade my version of iPhoto to the latest one that Yosemite supports before evaluating Photos.
By the way, since I can't imagine wanting all 400 GB of my iPhoto Library to synced to iCloud and then with all my other Apple toys, do you know whether I will still be able to sync selected photos in Photo for syncing with my iPad in iTunes?
    Thanks

  • I just downloaded iPhoto 9.6 onto my iMac, that runs Yosemite, and the program won't open at all.

I just brought my iMac back from the Apple Store after having a new hard drive installed. I wanted to put my photos back onto the computer using the back-up I had made on an external hard drive.
I downloaded iPhoto from the App Store, and initially it opened. I tried to import a folder of photos, but nothing happened. It froze. I did a Force Quit, and tried to import just one photo. Again, it froze, and I did a Force Quit. Then I tried to simply open the program. I got the spinning wheel, and when I looked at the Force Quit box, iPhotos had stopped responding.
I tried to open it using Command+Option, and tried the first option to repair (I can't remember what that option is now), but got the same result. Then I unplugged the external hard-drive and tried twice to open it - once normally, and once using the Command+Option method. Same spinning wheel, and "not responding" message in the "Force Quit" box.
I sent the Force Quit reports (or whatever they're called) to Apple, but I have no idea what they said as I don't understand them.
    I have a 27 inch mid-2011 iMac, running Yosemite (10.10.1), and iPhoto is 9.6.
Please help! What am I doing wrong?

I just tried to open iPhoto by holding down option+command key, and opening it from the dock (and not the icon in applications) - and it opened!
Right-click or ctrl-click the icon in the Dock and select "options > Show in Finder". ,This will show you, where the iPhoto version is installed, that you are running.
It should be revealing the iPhoto version in your Applications folder. Does it?

  • I can't download iphoto after upgrading to Yosemite

I keep getting the message "unknown error" when I try to download Iphoto from the app store.

This error message will appear erraneously, if you skipped the update to Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5.1 and went straight from an earlier MacS X version to Yosemite, without first updating to iPhoto 9,5.1 and associating it to your AppleID.
Try first to buy iPhoto with your AppleID, as Kappy suggested. Delete iPhoto from Applications, but don't empty the Trash, then go to the main page of the App Store and search for iPhoto. If you are lucky, it will show as free and you can buy it directly.
If it is not showing as free, there is no help but contacting the App Store Support: Ask for a redemption code. You will need to provide a prove of purchase for your mac with iPhoto preinstalled.

  • Why won't iPhoto download? I've downloaded the new Yosemite and now it won't let me download iphoto 9.6

I have a Macbook pro. I recently downloaded Yosemite and once that had downloaded iphoto was not compatible (it had a barred sign across it). So I moved it to the trash bin and went to the app store to download the latest version of iphoto 9.6. However when I get there it says install but when I try and click on it nothing is happening. No pop up comes up, the button does not change to say installing. I do not understand. Please help!

If you're having problems with the App Store you might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
    open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
    followed by Enter.
    launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
    3 - try again.

You need to have iPhoto 11 v9.6 (which you can get from the App Store) to use iPhoto on Yosemite. If you already have iPhoto 11 then the update is free. Otherwise it's a purchase.

In the iPhoto ratings there are alot of other people facing this problem I hope somebody can help me. thank you in advance

If you have OS X 10.6.8 as you state you can not get iphoto form the App store - you must have Yosemite OS X 10.10. installed to download iphoto 9.6 from the App store
If Nothing happens then you need to contact App store support - link is on the right of the App store window

  • I just upgraded to Yosemite, downloaded iPhoto 9.6 and get this promptYour photo library is damaged or unreadable and cannot be opened. Please restore from a backup. Suggestions?

I just upgraded to Yosemite, had to upgrade my iPhoto so downloaded iPhoto 9.6. My photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this new version of iPhoto but when it started to upgrade, this prompt appeared -Your photo library is damaged or unreadable and cannot be opened. Please restore from a backup.
    Suggestions?

Try download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Download new iphoto after yosemite installation

    Hello !
I downloaded and installed Yosemite on my MacPro in October 2014.
It was stated that my version of iPhoto should be "updated". Since then, I try to download it. The download status is still "pending."
I started the process several times but it's always the same. Anyone has had this problem? What can I do? Is it possible to get the dmg otherwise? I bought my MacPro in 2009.
    Thanks in advance.

Just in case you should still have problems after trying Larry's advice:
iPhoto  may be hanging, because you are running out of storage - do you have at least 10GB of fee disk space?
Are you signed in from an  administrator account?  If not, try that.
Or something may be interfering with your connection to the App Store - anti virus software, a firewall. If you have any such software running, restart yor mac in Safe Mode and try reinstalling in this mode:  Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode
If that does not help either, ask in the App Store forum.

  • Downloading iphoto for lion 10.7.5

trying to download iPhoto for my iMac.  Operation system is OS X Lion 10.7.5.  Is it possible to get iPhoto on my computer?

The currently sold version iPhoto 9.6 requires Yosemite. But you could buy an iLIfe '11 installer DVD at Amazon. That will include iPhoto '11. You can update that version using the updaters at Apple's support page.

  • How to download iPhoto for Mavericks?

After a clean install of OS X 10.9 Mavericks on my Mac Mini, I went to the Mac App Store to download iPhoto. It says I can't, because iPhoto 9.6 requires OS X 10.10. Yosemite.
Upgrading to Yosemite is not an option.
Fine, and how do I get iPhoto for Mavericks now?
    Thanks for any hint!

After a clean install of OS X 10.9 Mavericks on my Mac Mini,
Which version did you have previously? The same system version?
Did you previously have iPhoto '11 installed on your Mini with Mavericks?  Then restore iPhoto from your backup you made before you wiped the drive.

  • Not able to download iPhoto on Mavericks

I have a clean installed Mavericks 10.9.5 system since yesterday. The local macstore installed it because my hardware was slowing down and they placed 2x4GB ram and a samsung SSD after which they clean installed Mavericks (i think not yosemite because it is so new and mavericks works faster on this 2010 macbook pro).
Now I would like to download iPhoto and such (iLife apps) from the App Store and when I click the 'Free' button and then 'Install App' it then says:
"We could not complete your purchase.
iPhoto can't be installed on 'Macintosh SSD' because OS X version 10.10 or later is required"
Do I have to install Yosemite before I can use iPhoto again?
I would love to put all my photos back on an iPhoto version I can use within Mavericks
Thanks in advance for your advice, kind regards.

Look under the purchases tab - not the main window - you should be able to install you original version from there
