Download links are dead under Internet Explorer 11. I had to install Chrome ...
Why did I have to install Chrome to download Illustrator ? Download links seem dead under IE 11.
There are a variety of factors with browsers that the Adobe site is prone to err against. It is possible you had some security settings in place in IE that were not yet included in your newly installed browser, or something similar to that, like not having cookies enabled. Quite often people are told to try using a different browser as a cure to their interactions with the Adobe site.

Also, I've added bookmarks. I add a site to my bookmarks, it takes it, but later it's not there. It shows it under Internet Explorer when I had it.

Why can't I download a pdf file using internet explorer as my browser. I can download pdfs using firefox.
Gilad D,
Thanks for the support.
I would guess the plugin is enabled since when I use Foxfire as my browser, all pdfs download and are readable. (just doesn’t happen when I use IE as my browser, I get a blank screen with a small “x” in the upper left corner)
I will try your proposed solution.

Trying to re-install Acrobat 8 and it's saying I need Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater installed. I have IE 11 installed so not sure why I'm getting that message.
Acrobat 8 needs IE 6.0 not 4.0
1) Try installing using MSI file instead of setup.exe.
2) Enable MSI logging and provide the MSI log. Steps to enable MSI logging can be found here http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/223300
3) What is the version of shdocvw.dll in "C:\Windows\System32" folder and in "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" (exists only on a 64 bit machine) folder. -

IWeb Page Navigational Links not working with Internet Explorer 7
I'm hoping someone can help me out here? My wife created her 1st website using iWeb. I am testing the sites functionality before we publish it. All the pages and links work fine on Firefox and Safari for windows. However, the page navigational links are not working on Internet Explorer 7. All I see is a dot to the left side of where the page links should be. When I start the site in IE7 I get an Active X script warning and I am asked if I want to allow the script to run; to which I reply yes. After I allow the Active X script the dot to the left side of where the page links should be disappears, but the links do not appear.
Is there anyway to resolve this? Most of the members of her club have Windows based PCs and are using IE7.
Message was edited by: cviz821Yes, Javascript is running on IE7 and other java script applets appear to be working with the exception of the Navbar script.
It would be great if my wife's friends used a "real" browser, unfortunately 70% of the people on the web use IE7, so this is a real concern if we can't get this to work. I'v seen other iWeb site on IE7 that seem to function fine, so I'm not sure what the issue is here.

The restrictions that are available to Internet Explorer for Windows 7
Hi,
Is there any options for windows 7 to create restrictions in IE 8 or above as mentioned in the below link (In this article they gave the ways to restrict in IE 6 with windows xp environemt).
Could you please suggest the same way of restrictions in windows 7 as well..
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823057/en-us
Thanks,
UdayaKumar SHi,
I am afraid there is no options through registry/group policy to turn off the keyboard shortcut keys in IE. As they are built-in and can't be controlled by a registry or group policy.
Besides, see if the following threads could help:
How to disable keyboard shortcuts in IE7 / IE8
Disable HotKeys in Internet Explorer 8
Best regards

An email will have a "Click here" link and when I click it goes to a internet explorer browsing, not a firefox browser
That is is always a problem when you are using multiple profiles and Firefox isn't running.
It might work if no profile is selected (i.e. marked as Default=1 in profiles.ini).<br />
You can use desktop shortcut that open with a specific profile (-P "profile").<br />
There is also a setting in the Profile Manager (Don't ask at startup). -
Flash Javascript links not working in Internet Explorer
Hi,
I've searched through the previous discussion in this forum
but couldn't find the answer. I'm sure this is a common problem
that can be resolved easily.
i have a site that has a series of thumbnail links that opens
custom sized pages via Javascript. Works perfect in Firefox, but
only 1 of the 10 links works in IE.
I'm using internet explorer 6 - pretty sure its SP2 (not at
computer to check - using works computer to post this message).
With IE, there is an icon on the bottom left that says "Done"
with a warning label on it.
How can I resolve this issue so the site works fine with
Internet Explorer.
ThanksCan you post a link to the site? You say one link works, is
this working link set up the same exact way (syntax, etc.) as the
other 9 links? The warning label in IE wouldn't be from any code
that is contained within Flash, as IE doesn't load that code when
it loads the flash. So, that warning must be from the html/body
code of the webpage itself, not your flash document. If you double
click on that warning lable, a box should pop up that gives you a
line number for the error. -
JFileChooser under Internet Explorer?
I'm not sure.. I think this is the right forum for my question:
How can I use the JFileChooser object through Internet Explorer? I get a security exception on initialization:
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied(java.util.PropertyPermission user.dir.read)
Someone tipped me about using java web start instead of IE, but this my executives wont allow the application we're building to shift it's platform.
I've read about policy files, but this seams bothersome. As far as I can understand, they have to be set to each client using the application. Perhaps this can be done automatically through the application? You have to sign the Jar file containing the applet. If you are running the native IE JVM rather than an up to date plug in JVM you'll probably want to package the code into a signed CAB file, But Microsoft no longer ship their Java SDK which has the utilities to do this so it might be tricky to get hold of.

Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (''Site Identification'' icon) on the left side of the location bar and click the "More Information" button.
This will open the Security tab of the ''Page Info'' window (also accessible via Tools > Page Info).
Go to the ''Media'' tab of that Page Info window.
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow.
If an image is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box ''Block Images from...'' then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

I know this is a basic question, but I'm ignorant! I am creating a website using primarily Fireworks, Flash and Frontpage. I have a banner and buttons on the side that will appear on each page. Do browsers automatically display the banner and buttons
