How do I download? (download manager keeps closing)

Have tried several times to download Edge Animate, but the download manager keep closing ("unexpectedly"). I click reopen, and it only checks for updates, but does not download the new app.

issue was resolved through tech help.
my old download thing was supposed to automatically update to the cc downloader, but did not.
There was nothing on the product page to indicate this, so I did not know where to find what I needed.
I found it, downloaded the CC downloader and then my app.

Looking for Premiere Pro CS5 v5.0.4 update for Elctronic download Version - not avalible in downloads but download manager keeps saying I need it and wont install

My update keeps telling me I need to update my Premiere Pro CS5 to v5.0.4 but tells me there is an error downloading. Tried to download manually and install but it only has a link for retail DVD version and I have an electronic download version. I know CS5 is no longer supported but shouldn't I at least have some where I can download this update? Thanks

that link is the only one for pre cc app updates.
is the current downloadable version cs5.04? if yes, that would explain why there is no update for the downloadable version. you would uninstall your cs5 and install the current download in that situation.

Adobe Download Manager keeps crashing

Every time I start Adobe Download Manager it crashes immediately .
Read somewhere that downloading ApplicationManager 8.0 might help, but it crashes the same when starting.
Please advise.

Any Adobe software. I tried Acrobat Reader and Flash player.

Illustrator keeps installing on C drive, although preferences are set to F drive

My Illustrator CS6 keeps installing on to my C drive, though in the preferences I changed the install directory to F.
I would install it on C if it was such a problem getting it on F, but C is an SSD with next to no space left (only my OS is on that disk) so I HAVE to get Illustrator on my F drive.
Phototshop, Indesign and After Effects all installed without any problems on my F drive.
please help?

What is your OS ?
Have you tried any other software installation on F:/ after the Illustrator failed to get to the F:/ ?

Media Manager keeps installing....

I installed BDM v.5 with Media Manager. When it was done, I restarted the PC as I was directed. It came back up fine so I thought everything was working. However, every now and then Media Manager goes through the installation process when I start the PC up. Anyone else experience this? What are apps are out there that allow you to send files to the phone (Storm)?

For your second question (apps to send to your Storm)...there's no need for anything else. Your Storm, properly configured, should appear as 2 USB drives in your Windows system. Simply move files to/from just like you would any other drive on your PC.

Or, email things to your BB...then save the attachment to the BB.

For your first question -- that's really odd. Are you positive it's Media Manager attempting to install again? Or is it some VCast thing or something? Regardless, what you might try is a clean uninstall:

Followed by a fresh download of DTM:

Followed by installing DTM to your PC and then the device OS package (also to the PC).
Failing that, you might try a version of DTM without Media Manager. I used to run with that and it was cleaner and faster...but recently I learned that not all .avi's are created equal and I needed Media Manager to transcode them for my BB to be able to play some of them properly.

Adobe Download manager error installing

Im having problems downloading the adobe application manager, it says there is an error contact admin, but I dont know how.

From the Windows Desktop right-click on My Computer.
Click Manage, which should open the Computer Management Window as shown below.
Click the + next to Local Users and Groups or double-click it. Note: If you cannot access this section, you do not have administrator rights to the computer.
Click Users and in the right pane you should see all user accounts setup on your computer.
Double-click the account you wish to view the rights of.
Click the Member Of tab.
If the user is a Member of "Administrators" that account has admin rights.

Photoshop 6 (Subscription, standard ed) download problem. Keeps installing Ps 6 extended trial.

Hello all
Yesterday I purchased a subscription (year long plan) to photoshop 6. Evereything seemed to get fine. I got the email with confirmation and download instruction. Followed the instructions, but the adobe app manager keeps installing (tried three times now) trial version of the photoshop 6 extended. I have been going trough the discussions over and over again trying to find a fix but haven't found one.

OK, FINALLY found a solution. And I'm sure this concerns everybody in the the non english areas so spread the word. When you open the adobe application manager, before installing anything check your presets (upper left corner of the adobe app window, arrow next to your adobe ID) to make sure that the preset language is the same as the one in the product you ordered/subscribed to.
In my case, when I subscribed to photoshop I selected the english version. But once I started installing the software the app manager had automatically set the language as finnish so I was installing a product I wasn't subscribed to and therefore it installs the trial version of the ps extended instead.

I get an error trying to install the download manager prior to downloading my new DW CC. Any ideas?

Are there any special requirements to get this download manager to install?
I have Carbonite backup that was in progress, and I paused that. Also turned off the malware scanners.
Here's the message I get "Adobe Application Manager is corrupted and must be reinstalled. Please contact Customer Service, which evidently doesn't exist except in these volunteer forums. Not impressed so far.

I resolved this myself. Instead of installing the application manager, I needed to install Cloud Desktop. That seems to have allowed me to install Dreamweaver.

Will that do anything for the many people having problems with the Download Manager when installing Flash Player? Or is it, as the blog indicates, strictly for Adobe Reader only? (But aren't both products using the same DLM?)

This switch to DLM is causing me a lot of confusion too, so don't feel bad. They use the same DLM, but I'm not sure they use the same -version- of the DLM. Seems like Acrobat is pushing an update to DLM.
I'll see if I can get more info.

Akamai Download Manager deleted...

I deleted Akamai Download Manager after installing Premiere Elements 8. This has proved to be a big mistake! Later, when I tried to download the additional content, the download just hung. It appears that the Download Manager won't reload for whatever reason. Does anyone have any ideas?

Direct HTTP download links are also now available in your store download area as "Alternate Download Method" right below the download manager links.
This is enabled for the Flex version of the store and will be enable shortly for the HTML version of the store (for those users that don't have the latest Flash Player installed).
If you want to clean out you download manager installation and start over, here are the cleanup steps depending on what browser you were using:
Firefox Java applet version cleanup
On Windows, Java applets are cached by JRE and are accessible through the Java or Java Plug-In Control Panel. To clear the cache and remove the Akamai Download Manager, do the following:
Open the Java or Java Plug-In Control Panel.
In the General or Cache tab, click View.
(General tab only) In the Show: Combo box, select Resources.
Delete files with the format dlm-java-****.jar.
Clear history of any partially downloaded files:
Delete the contents of folder below using the command prompt
C:\Documents and Settings\<user profile>\Application Data\Download Manager
Internet Explorer ActiveX version cleanup
1. Delete all these files from "c:\windows\Downloaded Program files\
DownloadManagerV2.inf, DownloadManagerV2.ocx, Manager.exe
(please do this via command line available via the Start menu then Run, type 'cmd'
2. Delete all the contents of this folder: C:\Documents and Settings\<user profile>\Application Data\Download Manager
3. Clear out the browser cache and history

Can't install Intel graphics driver on W530

When I try to install Intel's latest graphics driver (so I can run OpenCL apps) it fails with "Operating system not supported". This is on Win7 64-bit, and the drivers are for that OS.

I would recommend to uninstall using the add/remove programs and using device manager. Uninstall the driver from device manager will most likely remove just the driver and not the rest. You should find the add/remove programs in the control panel.
I cannot say for sure this will solve the problem, but i had no problems using the drivers from Intel in the past as long as i do not have the driver from Lenovo installed already. So it might be worth a try. There should not be any danger doing so, but of course when you work with a computer anything can happen.
