requires an Intel CPU Mac. It might run on Windows emulation for the Mac, but that is limited to XP, and XP's security updates are not free anymore, and video and audio is barely usable, though images are fine.

Though I am not familiar with MetaTrader 4, I do know it would require a virtualization
application to run Windows in a Mac, (such as Virtual PC for Mac) & a copy of Windows
appropriate for both the correct version of PC virtualization, and both versions of the
Virtual PC (or equivalent) and Windows that could run in the computer you have...
Within the hardware limitations, and the system limitations of co-sharing the virtual PC
software, windows, and MetaTrader4 together.
From what I've read, most users have a later model Intel-based Mac computer, with at
least a core2duo cpu, and 4GB+ RAM or more, so the virtual system and OS X can both
work; plus a additional resources for the application to run on top of this.
I'd tend to believe you will not have a good day or any kind of fair results running the
MetaTrader4 application on a Mac capable of running Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger, as it
would be slow. And you will have to buy a copy of Virtual PC for Mac that could run
under Tiger OS X 10.4.11, and a version of Windows that can run with both the above.

with extra RAM, virtual PC software, with Windows installed too, running on Tiger 10.4.11
could be a low-end marginal access point to use the MetaTrader, made for Windows PC.
This discussion is from 2007 to 2008, and so the results even if the software were to function
may vary now from what they found then, not just on the Mac side, but on the Windows PC

Some show they ran windows XP, some with Parallels in a Core2Duo Intel-Mac, some
used BootCamp to set up the partition in the Mac HDD so windows could be installed;
so that is another world from an older iBook G4 (PowerPC-Mac) that has a single core
PPC processor & limited hardware, a marginal situation for Mac OS X by itself, at times.
I cannot recommend running MetaTrader4 on an iBook G4 under Tiger 10.4.11, with
Virtual PC for Mac, so a Windows OS can be used. I doubt the configuration can do it.
However I am not an expert in this matter, but I do have several older PPC pre-intel Macs
and know they have/had limitations, especially when one hopes to run Windows on them
via a Virtualization setup. IT would be super SLOW!

There should be a Library button on the top left. If not ap the middle of the screen to get it to appear.

The 2G iPod can only go as high as iOS 4.2.1. If you want apps that require an iOS higher than 4.2.1 you need a newer model iPod.

If tapping the book doesn't give a button at the top left to go back to your Library, then try closing the iBooks app completely and see if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with iBooks 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Can anyone please shed some light on how I can run MS Office and Meta Trader 4 platform on mac air. I have been using Play on Mac and Wine for the past couple of weeks, but now suddenly it has stopped working, only crashing and giving me nightmares. Is it juts best to install the latest Windows or Parallel?

Meta Trader 4 is Windows only - Office is available for the Mac and Windows and are mostly compatible but given that you'll be doing online trading you may prefer the Windows version of Excel since there are financial spreadsheets with macros that only run on the Mac with some significant editing.
You can install Windows 7 or 8 in BootCamp or any version of Windows usting virtualization. VMWare and Parallels are commercial programs and VirtualBox is open source. VB may be all you need. Whatever solution you choose, you'll need a commercial version of Windows (or get an OEM disc from NewEgg).

I am trying to install 'Playonmac' so I can install Meta Trader 4 - however each time I reach the next button in order to install XQuartz it hits a dead end
- the 'Installing Quartz' window is saying installing Quartz, but all it does from there is the clock the spins around, just keeps spinning and nothing happens - I have waited and waited for it, but it just kind of freezes there. I have reloaded the software over and over, and even switched off the firewall in case it was blocking Playonmac. It is really important I load Meta Trader 4 on my Mac.
Help will be much appreciated - Has anyone had this sort of problem? Does anyone know how to resolve it?

According to wiki "the documentation from Apple states that Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista is requisite for a Boot Camp installation, and it also mentions that trying to install an unsupported operating system could prevent the computer from booting even into Mac OS X". Sure that was from wiki, but it does seem to support and somewhat validate the problem I had with installing an earlier edition of XP.

Thanks for the info on the Filesystem info. My problem is that installing OS X on a mac is just a little bit more technical than installing Windows on a PC as there are a few more things to consider. Plus I'm not familiar with any of the utility programs as well. It's a **** miracle I managed to somehow create a volume to install OS X on when I thought I was erasing the partition I created for WinXP.
But I'm still not sure about the missing 40GB from my 500GB HDD. Upon coming to the desktop straight after OS X was fully re-installed I noticed that the HDD only had 460GB and that 440GB of it available space. So the full installation of OS X was 20GB, but where has the other 40GB gone? I swear I saw that I had much more available space on my harddrive (BEFORE I tried to partition my HDD under Boot Camp Assistant and stuffing up the computer). Is the missing 40GB from the ORIGINAL FACTORY INSTALL of OS X INCLUDING all my iTunes music and other files I uploaded to the computer earlier? It would make sense but there's no way, as far as I know, of checking this. Any ideas?

Try to reset your phone, hold the home/sleep buttons until it reboots and the apple logo appears, don't release the buttons till apple logo appears. If no luck there, Resync the book. Or delete it and redownload it. Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I would recommend deleting the problematic book and downloading it again by accessing your previous purchases. Here are a couple articles that will help you with this process.
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Before you delete, find out if you'll be able to download the book you deleted again (it depends on where you live). To delete a book:
Tap the iBooks app.
View your Purchased Books collection.
Tap Edit.
Tap any books you want to delete.
Tap Delete.
You'll have the option to delete your book on all your devices.

Quit iBooks and restart the iPad and then see if it will open.
In order to quit or close apps - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

At this point you will only be able to download whatever is available in the Apps Store in the iTunes Store for India. I doubt very much iBooks or iWorks will be available until the iPad has actually been released for India.

Trying to download a book from iBooks.

I'm trying to download a book from iBooks (latest version) on my 3Gs (latest software). The book is Matthew Reilly's "Seven Deadly Wonders".
When tapping on it to go to the download page in iBooks it takes quite awhile and then takes to a screen that says, "Seven Deadly Wonders is available for download in iBooks."
But no Buy button. Just buttons, "Learn more about iOS 4" and "Learn more about iBooks"
Anybody else see this?

You can re-download content purchased from the iBook store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iBook store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen after you tap the store button in the top corner of the iBook app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

If the book won't open then try deleting it from the bookshelf and re-download it via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app and see if you can open that.
