Download Movies again

I thought Tim Cook said on the March event, that it is now possible to download movies again like Apps / Music. Am I wrong?

Why is itunes downloading movies again?

I have a digital copy of E.T and Toy Story Toons - Hawaiian Vacation downloaded and in my itunes library. Both are downloaded and playable from start to finish.
I have opened iTunes and it's trying to re-download both movies again. 3.65gb for ET and 214mb for toy story.
Anyone got any ideas why?

I have been experiencing the same problem, and unfortunately sanfranciscotx's suggestion doesn't address or resolve the issue.
iTunes is behaving inconsistently. There are podcasts for which I have selected the "Download All" option and it only downloads new podcasts that have been released since the last time it was checked, regardless of how many podcasts were released in that time, without downloading old podcasts.
In another case, the "Download All" option is selected, and it works as I would expect (the above scenario) for some time, but then one week it will start downloading a bunch of older podcasts as the original poster has mentioned.
I am running iTunes 10.5.3, so I'm lead to believe the issue lies with the server where the podcasts are stored or the podcast feed and not with iTunes.

Okay - let's cut to the chase...
If the Menu Bar (File, Edit... Help) shown in my screenshot below is not visible, use CTRL+B to display it. Then click on Help/Check for Updates. If one is available, you will be able to select it at this time.
Note the item at the bottom of the list; About iTunes. Selecting that will show you which version of iTunes you are using.
An alternative method to display the Menu Bar is click on the box in the top left of your iTunes window...

I live in an area where internet access is via satellite or cell towers and two attempts to download Mountain Lion have failed, but still cost me a bunch in data usage.

Unfortunately, I am still unable to open my core productivity apps, namely Skype and Evernote. Twitter, as well, could not start. But interesting quick fix though, I never knew you could do that.

You have a "good WiFi connection". What does that mean exactly? Can you send and receive email and are other internet related activities working OK for you? Have you tried restarting or rebooting your iPad? Sometimes that helps. If nothing else, it's a good place to start.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Downloading the same movie again

I think most here are honest and want to legally own their downloads. There are simply too many ways to get them illegally.
That said, I have a problem.
I purchased "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" (no comments from the peanut gallery please), and the movie downloaded fine. I was not charged for this purchase which I made with several other purchases. Now, it is downloading AGAIN. Next thing you know it will try to download yet again after completing the download.
I really wish there were either a better way to get in touch with a Apple representative human (one of those squishy objects we see every day) or at minimum, something less public, but here we are... I would like to pay for what I have on my iPod, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Nor do I think the downloads are over.
Ideally, I also wish iTunes would let me purchase media from other parts of the world. Aliz'ee, the Corsican/French singer is truly worth searching for, but I can't get the videos on my American version of iTunes. I have tried downloading iTunes from a French site, but it sent me to the American server, so I had no joy there. I know there WERE legal problems in Europe with selling across national borders, but those have been solved in Europe, so why not here in the U.S.? Or do I have to take a trip to Europe to fill my iPod with a really nifty chick in a cat suit? Should I just go with iPod tourism or what?

Rentals are a one-time only download, you will need to try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download - try the 'report a problem' page to contact them : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

That usually doesn't happen (unless you do not use automatic login) unless you boot into Safe Mode. When prompted do you enter your admin password? What happens when you do that?
