Download movies on one computer, play back on another?

Can I download a movie on to one computer ... copy it to a CD and then play it back on a different computer .... or can you only play it back on the computer you downloaded it on?
Thanks

If you buy the movies, yes, you can.
If you rent the movies, they won't play if moved in that fashion. The only thing which might work is to sync them to an iPod or iOS device capable of playing them and then using the Transfer Purchases function in iTunes on the other computer.

  • Bought a movie on one computer but now use another.

Ok, i bought the movie invincible on one computer but i just bought a new laptop and downloaded itunes. But now I cant get the movie to this laptop because i reported it once before. So it didnt work once and i reported it and now it wont come to my laptop but it wont let me report please help me.

Even though you are allowed a maximum of 5 authorized computers, you are only allowed to download purchased content once. You must use a flash drive, data discs, or some other secondary means to transfer purchased content to another computer.

  • ITunes library on one computer - Play sound on another?

I'm needing to free up space on my MBPro and thought I'd move my library to my wife's MB since she has more hard drive space available. Then I thought I'd delete the library from my machine to free up that 20-25GB of space.
The only problem with that is now I can't listen to iTunes on my machine if I'm doing work and need some music. We have the machines on the same network (can connect to each machine from the other and move files).
Is there a good way for me to listen to my library that's on her machine from my machine? I'm thinking point my MBPro to the library on her machine, but I'm wondering if that will work with both machines connected to a Time Capsule via Wi-Fi. Is there some option to stream sound from a MB to a MBPro and just use my MBPro as remote speakers, so to speak?
Hope this includes all necessary details and makes sense.
    -John

Enable Music Sharing on your wife's computer. Open iTunes, select Preferences. Click on the Sharing icon at the top of the new window. Tick the boxes "Look for shared libraries" and "Share my library on my local network" -then click in the circle for "Share entire library".
Next, on your computer open iTunes, select Preferences, click on the Sharing icon, and check the box "Look for shared libraries".
For this to work, your wife's computer must be left on, and the iTunes application must be open. On your computer you open iTunes, and in the source window on the left part of your iTunes screen you will see your wife's library and playlists. Double-click on them to play. This will not cause the files to play on your wife's computer -only yours. If her computer is shut down or goes to sleep you will lose your access to the music.

  • Downloaded audiobook on one computer, need it on another

I used iTunes on my laptop to log in and buy an audiobook. I was silly enough to assume that when I log into iTunes with the same username/password on my main machine, it would be there after it syncs with the Store. But I don't see it; what am I missing? How do I get this audiobook onto my desktop Mac (both running 10.6)?

It does not magically appear anywhere.
If you want it somewhere else, you will need to put it there. Copy it to disk/flash drive/etc then copy it to your other computer.

  • Can I download lion to one computer and then install it on several computers I own?

Can I download lion to one computer and then install it on several computers I own?

You can install it on as many computers that you personally own. But if you have several then you may want to avoid having to download it multiple times:
    Make Your Own Lion Installer
    1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
    2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
    3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
    4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
    Open Disk Utility.
Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that  you can use without having to re-download Lion.

  • How many times can the photoshop code be used?  Like can I download it on one computer then later download it on a different computer?

Basically the title explains my question.  How many times can the photos hop code be used?  Like can I download it on one computer then later download it on a different computer?

You're allowed two installations/registrations. Anything above that requires deregistration on one of those computers.
Take note that if this is Photoshop CC, it's as easy as signing out on a system; there aren't any serial numbers involved as it's all tied to your Adobe ID.

Is there anyway to take a downloaded app from one computer and put it on another without rebuying it. I have a macbook that I bought the new iMovie and iPhoto on, but I would rather it be on my iMac. So is there anyway I can change it? I thought that if I bought it the apps on my macbook, they would be avaliable on my imac like the mobile devices operate. The macbook has 10.6.8 cause its a older model and I think lion would slow it down. Any help??

Just redownload it on the other computer by logging into the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase it.

  • How do i download itunes on one computer (64-bit) for a different computer(32-bit)?

How do I download itunes on one computer (64-bit) for a different computer (32-bit)?  The download page automatically detects my computer as 64-bit, but I want to download the installer for a different computer that is 32-bit.

I ended up changing the user agent reported by my web browser to fool the website into thinking I was using a different web browser. On Google Chrome, press Ctrl-Shift-I to open the Developer Tools, then click the gear in the lower-right corner of the window. Check "Override User Agent" then select "Internet Explorer 7" from the drop-down.
Once upon a time, you could download the 32-bit version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/download/, but the download link hasn't been updated recently and points to an old version of iTunes.
If, like me, you think Apple should provide a link to the 32-bit version from the main download page, I would recommend giving Apple your feedback.

  • I have a new iPhone and have kept my old one to play music in another room, when i recently updated my new iPhone it has backed up to my old iPhone and I have therefore lost pictures, messages etc from my new phone how can I get it all back?

I have a new iPhone and have kept my old one to play music in another room.  I have recently updated my software on the new iPhone and when it backed up it backed up to the old iPhone, I have therefore lost pictures, messages and apps from my new iPhone as it has backed up to the last session of the old phone, how can I get all my new stuff back and stop it from happening again?

No such thing has occurred.  iPhones do not backup to one another.
It is not possible to backup a different iPhone from the one being updated.
If the iPhone was restored with a backup from a different device, restore it again from the correct backup.

Pay attention when restoring the iPhone and select the correct backup to restore from.

  • Transferring home movies from one computer to another

What is the best way to do this? I have about 500 video clips that I want to move from one computer to another. I've tried using the export function in iPhoto but all I get upon transfer is a single frame of the movie. I keep the files on an external HD but I can't find where they are stored. I see the iPhoto app to open but not the original files. Additionally, whenever I do locate these files, how can I get them transferred with the keywords assigned to them? TIA! Going from a MBP running 10.6.8 to a MBA running 10.8.2

I'm not sure you can assign keywords to a movie on export, as these are written to the exif metadata of a photo and most video has no such metadata.
You say you've tried the export function in iPhoto, but what settings have you used? Exporting with the Kind set to Original should yield the videos.

How do i move from one I tunes store to another country if I have credit remaining

You can't whilst you have a balance. If you can't spend it then you can try contacting iTunes support and ask them if they can remove the balance so that you can change countries : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Transferring movies downloaded from one computer in itunes to another

ok i bought some movies on itunes but i was having some issues downloading them so i downloaded them on a friends computer but now that i have resolved my issues on this computer i can't find the movies that i had downloaded on my friends computer. how do i get them back on mine or do i just have to buy them and download all over again?

*i can't find the movies that i had downloaded on my friends computer.*
See if this helps: iTunes Music Store: Finding missing music and video downloads
*how do i get them back on mine or do i just have to buy them and download all over again?*
If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on the link at the bottom of this page you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
