Download movies purchased on Apple TV?

I recently purchased HD version "Iron Man" on my Apple TV, which included the iTunes extras. Is there a way to download the movie to my Mac, since it doesn't appear I'm able to watch the iTunes Extras on the Apple TV? (I did go to iTunes and checked for downloadable content).

It depends on what country you're in and whether or not they're still available in the iTunes Store. Some purchased movies and all rentals won't be available.

Depending on your region all you should have to do is go into iTunes and click iTunes Store. You should see "Purchased" on the right under Quick Links. Click Movies, then the cloud symbol under the movie name.

I am trying to get some help in downloading a movie I purchased on Apple TV to my computer so I can put it on my iPad or iPhone. I have the latest generation Apple TV and the thing is I have already done this with a previous movie. Either I am an idiot (that is an option!) and forgot how I did it or the procedure has changed When I purchased and watched The Hobbit on my Apple TV, I was then able to go to the iTunes store and download the movie to my computer. Since I already purchased it, there was an option to download in the store. However when I purchased Star Trek - Into Darkness on my Apple TV, I know longer see that option in iTunes. Again, unless I am not going to the right place or have forgotten somethine. Any help would be appreciated

You don't use the itunes app to watch videos, you use the video app.

Using iTunes 10.7 on my iMac where my main iTunes library is located. I have a couple of Apple TVs with the latest updates. When I purchase a movie on Apple TV, what is the easiest way to get it to download to my iMac? It seems that it is much easier to purchase movies on my iMac and then they show up in the library for that computer on my Apple TV - but you have to wait for the movie to complete the download before you can watch it - sometimes inconvenient.
So, following a purchase of a movie on my Apple TV what is the easiest way to download that purchased move to my iTunes library so I can also watch it on the computer or my iOS devices?
SOLVED: Looked at post labeled "Movie purchases in iCloud" and received my answer. Movie now downloading into my iTunes library.

Thanks - I understand this in principle - but still think it should be up to the user.
If my Apple TV glitches and I lose a bunch of tv shows, its not the end of the world.
If I have no room on my computer for a large powerpoint presentation for work because my hard drive is full of Simpson episodes, it is.
Not giving the user the option not to have gig upon gigs sent to his computer is very.... well, Gatesian.

I can see the movies from my computer on Apple TV but I can not seem to get the movies from Apple TV shared/uploaded to my computer. Can someone please help me out on this? Thank you

When will iTunes UK enable movie purchases on Apple TV?

As title states, I'm frustrated that he UK always lags behind. The key ability of not being able to either directly purchase movies off the apple tv or view existing purchases is a required feature. Why should it make a difference which device I purchase it from if I am doing the buying.

It's not just the UK, but with AppleTV the US has always got the goodies firts let's just hope we get them too at some point. Maybe at present this is to ensure that if you buy something you have a copy in iTunes/iOS device as you cannot redownload, and AppleTV does not have permanent memory - no reason a puchase there couldn't kickstart an automatic download to itunes next time you ran it though.
Personally I think the studios are quite stupid here, as there are things I would buy in HD if available instead of my older DVD copy, but I won't be buying the BluRays of those titles.
Another thing that puts me off buying at the moment is that even when there are a few titles in HD, they are mostly 720p - in the US I guess you would get the option of redownloading either 720p or 1080p, but without a rdownload option in UK you'd worry that as soon as you bought a load in 720p, they'd up the feature to 1080p availability and expect you to pay again.

Can't download movies purchased from itunes on my ipad

I have many movies purchased through iTunes store. In the past I was able to download to my iPad to watch when out of wifi. Now many titles, I cannot. Previously, I downloaded Avengers and watched, now it won't. Why?

I had the same issue and was able to fix it... I went to settings / videos and turned on "show all videos". I did the same at settings / iTunes and App Store. Then, when I returned to "videos", all of my purchases were there (took a second). At that point I did NOT get the "watch" button...I DID get the "cloud" icon And was able to download.....

Hi guys!! Brand new iPad user here so forgive me if this answer is simple! I purchased the 16GB iPad and had a question regarding purchased downloaded movies. It should, yes. If not, iTunes menu File > Transfer purchases.
Also, if down the road I purchase a new desktop computer.. Will I lose all purchased stored products when downloading a new iTunes?
This is two different questions. When you get a new computer, you will need to copy your iTunes library and files from your current computer to the new computer.
When you download and install a new iTunes, you will not lose your library.
However, you do make regular backups of your data, correct?

Downloading movie on original Apple TV

My Apple TV is now downloading movies at a snails pace - 14 hours for an SD movies. Previously I would take a matter of minutes. The internet access on my mac appears to be ok and have tested my broadband speed and while it's a little slower than norm it's ok. Any ideas?
