Download mp3 from link

Hi,
I saw a post on this question from Jan '06, but the answer
was in php not asp.
The question is: How do I go about adding a link to a MP3
file so that when it is
clicked on, it does not play in the visitor's default music
player, but brings up the
download menu. Also, do I put the code in the body or head
section.
Thanks for the help,
Gwen

  • I recently bought Macbook pro  and i don't how to download Mp3 from the internet browser. it's easy on PC as you how to clickright button on mouse and then chosse save link or file. any idea how to do this?

    Hi.
I recenly bought Macbook and as I am new to Apple word I don't know anything about the OS.
I was trying to download Mp3 from the internet today and I just could not. when I am using PC I just click the right button and save the link or file.
Please help me. Any idea how to download MP3?

I had been downloading from that site for many times but from PC. When I use the left button on mouse it will take me to the internet player on my PC but if I use the right button I have to choose 'save file as' and then I save it.
But on MACbook when I use two fingers on my trackpad there is only few options like and one of them is 'save link as' but not 'save file as'

  • Download mp3 from email

When I download an mp3 from an email on my iPhone 5, where does it go?

No. You will need an App that can directly handle MP3's .
    The Music App cannot.
Where does it say its downloading?   If it came as an attatchment its already on your phone, you just need to open it in an app that can handle it, so it would not need to download.
If its just a link to the mp3 file, then it would download in Safari, and then offer to open it in an App that can play it if you have one, otherwise it would not download.

  • Downloading .mp3s from the Web

    Hi all,
I've just encountered a slight problem on my BlackBerry 9800 Torch when downloading .mp3 files from the web.
What I often do is send the files to my Gmail address from my computer as attached files, then login to Gmail from my BB and download them onto my device there.
Thing is, it doesn't always work : some files go to the music section (which is where I expect and intend them to appear) but some mysteriously disappear, don't know where to look to find them.
Has anyone ever encountered this problem before? If so, any help would be greatly appreciated !
    Thanks
EDIT : I ended up finding them when I connected my device to my computer. Doesn't expalin where they went on the phone but at least I found them !

It's Safari 4 not Quicktime that causes this... Safari 4 doesn't support downloading non-embedded media. Safari now supports html 5 might be the reason why. Media in html 5 isn't handle by plugins. Use Firefox instead.

  • Downloading MP3s from Amazon

I downloaded an MP3 from Amazon. The .amz file went to the stacks Download folder. When I dbl click the file, iTunes opens but the song is nowhere to be found. I have the "amazon mp3 downloader app". The original .amz file is still on my desktop. Tried downloading another MP3 song; same thing happens...song doesn't appear in iTunes anywhere.
One of my playlists is "M3U Internet Stream"; I think that's Amazon downloads...but it's empty.
Running iTunes 10.1. I've downloaded several songs from Amazon in the past. Didn't have this problem until recently.

There doesn't appear to be any pattern to this, but when I am downloading new MP3s into iTunes (9.0.2) either from Amazon or eMusic, some of them come in normally and some of them come in without allowing me to edit any of the song information. This can happen even within one album, when all the songs are arriving in the library during the same download session. And yet some allow editing and some don't.
When I right-click on Get Info for either the album's folder or any of the individual files having this problem, it still tells me that I can read and write, under Ownership & Permissions.
Anyone have any ideas how to re-establish editing capability under these circumstances?
actually, i started a thread sometime ago about that exact same problem - with no result. in the end i waited it out and, since upgrading to iTunes 9.x, all is back to normal. no help to you at this point but ... just so you know you're not alone.
what you can try (and i did not at the time - so your milage may vary) is this by *Chris CA*
    +Quit iTunes.+
    +Open a Finder window.+
    +Go to \Music\ folder.+
+Right click the \iTunes\ folder and Get info.+
    +Go to the Sharing & Permissions tab.+
+Make sure your username has Read & Write privileges.+
    +Directly below are ( + ) and ( - ) signs next to a little gear with a down arrow+
+Click the gear and select Apply to enclosed items.+
    +Open iTunes then try again.+
does that work for you ?

  • I can't get firefox to download files from links on web pages

I have firefox 3.6.13 and when I click on a download link on a web page nothing happens. I have to open Internet explorer to download files.
It used to work OK for years until a few months ago.
The only web page I have found that I can still download from is for mp3 files from amazon.com
Isn't there anyone out there that has any idea how to solve this? If I can't get it fixed I guess I will have to make Internet Explorer my default browser.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • Download MP3 from Web

I want to download a MP3 file (the 2.30 MB version) from this Web page, the recording "Uncle Josh and the Insurance Agent (1903)":
    http://www.archive.org/details/CalStewart_part1
But when I click on it, I get a Safari screen that plays the music. How do I download the music to iTunes?

I don't have a "right click" mouse. When I click on the link ("2.30 MB"), all I get is a Safari Web page that plays the music.

  • How do I download pdfs from link without opening first in Safari?

I am running OS 10.7.2 and browse with Safari 5.1.2.  I download PDF files routinely for my work.  In previous versions of Safari (with OS 10.5.x), clicking a link to download a PDF led to the PDF immediately downloading and then opening in Adobe Acrobat Pro.  Since upgrading to current system and Safari, I can no longer do that.  Clicking on PDF links opens in Safari, and then I have to find and click Safari's download button, and then I have to go to the downloads folder and click to open the document.  Does anyone know how to bypass this opening feature and get Safari to just download and then get the pdf to instantly open like it used to?  I am finding myself moving to Firefox, which I don't like as well and don't know as well, because it doesn't interfere with PDF docs.
    Any solutions out there?

Thanks for the suggestion, but those are the settings I'm already using.  Unfortunately, the various websites I visit don't respond uniformly to control-click, and choosing to download a file from that menu often just downloads an HTML of the page rather than the pdf doc itself.  I find shift-option-click works more often than other key combos, but I still have to then go to the downloads folder and manually open the file.
You may be right about Firefox being my only option.  Thanks for the suggestions.

  • I can't download pdfs from links

Ever since I upgraded my Macintosh from system X.3 to X.4, I can't download a pdf that is accessed via a hyperlink in a web page. I can download a pdf attachment that I've received as e-mail, but if I click a link with a URL that ends in <PDF>, I just get a new, empty tab.

Is it that you are not able to view pdf in Safari? What exactly is the problem?

  • Downloading MP3s from the web with new quicktime

This new quicktime is proving to be really crappy. A band has posted a link to an MP3 to download but once I get to the site I can only listen to the song. With the old Quicktime Pro, you could click on a part of the playback controls to save the file.
I know you can normally option-click on the link that says song.mp3 and it will download the song to your downloads folder but this link happens to go to a tracker first so it's not a direct link to the song.
If someone could help me figure out how to download this song I'd appreciate it.
The band's page is here http://loscampesinos.com/2009/09/09/the-sea-is-a-good-place-to-think-of-the-futu re/ and the mp3 is located here http://www.wichita-recordings.com/download/The%20Sea%20Is%20A%20Good%20Place%20T o%20Think%20Of%20The%20Future.mp3
The only solution I found was to open Quicktime 7 and open the url and export as an MP3. That's a heck of a lot of work compared to the old way. I'm hoping that I'm just missing something simple.

It's Safari 4 not Quicktime that causes this... Safari 4 doesn't support downloading non-embedded media. Safari now supports html 5 might be the reason why. Media in html 5 isn't handle by plugins. Use Firefox instead.

  • How do I play some downloaded MP3 from NPR?

I have downloaded some old NPR mp3's that are not available in their RSS feeds.  Aside: These are old episedes of Fresh Air about the AMC series Breaking Bad.
I am using iTunes match, and these files are not eligible, probably because their bitrates are too low (these are radio interviews, not music).  So, these are not getting uploaded to the iCloud.  I cannot "subscribe" to these either, as these are old episodes that are not showing up in the lists of Podcasts or RSS feeds.
How do I listen to these on my iPhone5?
    Aloke
PS: I understand Apple's inclination to control everything .. but seriously, can I somehow copy audio/music files of my creation on to my device outside of going through iTunes Match without disabling Match altogether? How?

Right, now that I can see what's relevant.
You can import an MP3 to your iTunes Library, and add it to your iPhone, and listen to it on the phone. They can be NPR MP3s, downloaded from their site, or they can be audio/music files of your own creation. I have both in my Library and on my iPod.
You have already downloaded the files, you've told us that. So they are already on your computer, somewhere.
In your iTunes Library, press the ALT key and then press F, and finally D. (That's File/Add folder to Library)
Navigate to the folder where the MP3s are located, and choose the folder.
Press Select Folder. The MP3s are now added to your Music Library.
Change/edit the files, so that they are in any Playlists, you want, are set to skip when shuffling (which will stop them playing while listening to music in shuffle mode) and any other attributes that you want to add.
Sync these files to your iPhone in the same manner that you normally use.

  • Trying to download .mp3 from web into Flash, am clueless.

Okay, this is the code that I currently have. It's a small demo file right now, but in essence it's passed a URL to an online .mp3, which is then downloaded and hypothetically played. That doesn't seem to be working, as no sound is played and the id3 information comes up blank. Does anyone have any ideas? I do apologize if this seems basic, I'm relatively new at this. Thanks in advance!
    stop();
    var song:Sound = new Sound(new URLRequest("http://x.mp3"));
    song.play();
    trace(song.id3.TPE1 + " - " + song.id3.TIT2 + " on " + song.id3.TALB);
edit: Added the second end parentheses to line 2, that was a transcription mistake.
As well, I have a suspicion that the problem has to do with my host, FileFreak. If anyone could say if that's the problem, or has a recommendation for a better host for this purpose, I would appreciate it.

if the sound doesn't play you probably have an incorrect/typo url.
the data won't be accessible even with a correct url unless you have cross-domain policy permission (assuming that is cross-domain).

  • Downloading MP3s from Inter

Can anyone please recommend a website for purchasing MP3 downloads? Now that I have transferred every cd that I've ever owned, into my new Nomad Zen Xtra, my thirst for more tunes is growing. However, I do not wish to buy more CDs. The idea was to get rid of those cCDs and their Jewel cases.
I've seen many that claim to be legal, but my son tells me not to trust any of them. Whats the story? Does Creative Labs have any affiliation with such a website? I've been sold on the MP3 Player idea. Now, what do I do with it's Thanks, Mike C.Message Edited by ibme on 0-3-2005 05:43 PM

I have used p2p in the past but now have decided not to go that route and have gone with the legal method of paying for music. I now use www.allofmp3.com to download music. You pay by the megabite, although a lot less than what you'd pay on itunes and other US based pay sites. There is major controversey on whether this site is legal or not, as it resides in Russia and they have different laws governing electronic media. However, all of the researching that I have done leads me to believe that it is a legal loophole that allows a legal alternati've to the other not so great US downloading services. I have used allofmp3 for about a month now and like it. They have a healthy collection of music, and a lot of stuff you may not find on other services. Still not a complete collection however. My only complaint is that it takes them a while to get the newer stuff on the website.
