Download music into itunes from cloud

I want nothing to do with the Cloud.  My phone was automatically put on the cloud with an account even though I specifically said I do not want it. Now my music purchased is automatically being put on the icloud and not directly on my computer hance when transfered to my phone it is on the cloud and I cannot access it if I don't have a strong signal. Also It is not on y hard dive on my computer but on the cloud so If I am on a plane I have no access to it. I have turned my phone completely of cloud but now it will not download music from itunes as it is not actually on my computer.
How do I get music off the cloud and on my computer and completely cut my computer from the cloud.
thank you
michael

Music purchased from iTunes Store is always in the Cloud.  That's where Apple stores it and that's where it starts out.  If you want it on your computer you need to download it to your computer.  If you buy it on your phone you can set it to be automatically downloaded to your computer too, or you can transfer it from your phone to your computer.

Possibly. Media Go supports a variety of music formats, some of which can be imported in to iTunes and then synced on to an iPhone, however some of its formats cannot be imported in to iTunes.
See http://mediago.sony.com/enu/supported-file-formats/ for a list of formats supported by Media Go. iTunes for Windows supports MP3, AAC, WAV, and can import and convert WMA files as well. However iTunes does not support ATRAC, or FLAC.
Furthermore, if some of your music has been bought from an Internet music store it might be procted by DRM. If so it cannot be imported in to iTunes.
To do the importing you would either drag the music files in to iTunes, or tell iTunes to open them. See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1347

  • When I download music into Itunes and move songs into playlists, Itunes has twice randomly deleted all recently added songs from the playlists they have been added to.  It is driving me crazy.  Has anyone else had this problem?

When I download music into Itunes on my PC, every song is transferred into a specific playlist.  Twice now when I have opened up Itunes, all the recent songs that have been moved into playlists have been deleted by Itunes.  I now have to go back and figure out which songs are missing and re-add them.  It is driving me crazy. I have 10,000 songs and now have no idea which ones are missing and which ones have been retained.
Please help.  Does anyone else have this problem?

    Hi TRuss08,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like songs are missing from iTunes on your PC, and need to be re-added. I know that can be a frustrating situation.

  • How to download music into itunes

    Hii,
can anyone tell me how to download music into itunes, the present version?

Buy the music from iTunes and it downloads automatically.
There is no other way to download content into iTunes.
Importing music into iTunes is different. Is that maybe what you intended to ask?
If so, go to File > Add File/Folder to iTunes.

  • Hi, when I upload music into itunes from a cd it sometimes appears in itunes as two different albums and split up the music in 2 or even three albums....how can i merge these albums...this is particularly true when one album may have different composers?

Hi, when I upload music into itunes from a cd it sometimes appears in itunes as two different albums and split up the music in 2 or even three albums....how can i merge these albums...this is particularly true when one album may have different composers?

Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist will fix things.
For compilations that aren't, select all tracks, Get Info, and on the option tab set Part of a Compilation to No. If it already says No tick the box alongside, then click OK.

  • Ipod classic won't download music into itunes

When I attach my ipod classic to my computer/itunes, it won't allow me to transfer the music or playlists from my ipod to itunes. However, it allows my itouch to transfer music into itunes.

Your iPod Classic and your iTunes are both functioning normally. You can sync music, videos etc into your iPod Classic from iTunes (as you are) however you cannot do the opposite as you want to do.
There are third party software out there which can make this possible. Do a search on Google and you will run into that third party software.

  • HT1751 Move the Music into iTunes from Library

I have a new laptop, that is unfortunately running Windows 8.  I have my iTunes library that I transferred (per iTunes direction) to my external drive.  I downloaded iTunes 11 on the new computer (I also upgraded my old computer's iTunes to 11 before I started this).  I though I could just keep my library on the external hard drive, but I experienced the same problem I am about to explain.  So, I transferred my library per Apple instruction from the external hard drive to the iTunes folder on the new computer.  Now, when I try to select the new Library folder (shift, program start up iTunes...etc.)  I see the file, but I can't select it.  If I keep clicking into the folders I do not see any of the songs in the folders (Music/Artist/Album/Track).  However, if I view any of the files on the external hard drive or on the computer using windows explore, I can see all of the files fine - they are there.  What am I missing here?  I have spent hours on this (it is a large library) and I am beyond frustrated.  Please, can anyone help me out there!

You do not have to move it as such. Here are the steps to setup HomeSharing
    1) Ctrl B to turn on the top menu
    2) File > Home Sharing > Create Home Share enter your apple id and password, click create
    3) repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other computer and create home share using the same apple id and password
On your new machine if you have turned on the left hand sidebar the Shared Library should be about halfway down like this.
Select the songs you want and click import at the bottom right. If you want all songs then I would select one song nad Ctrl A to select all
Finally if you have a lot of songs to transfer Switch off the wifi on the old computer. Leave the wifi on the new one. Connect with an ehternet network cable. The copying speed is way faster.
Click import and grab a coffee

  • How do you re-import music into itunes from computer

I just bought a new laptop and have successfully moved all of my music... 10 gigs onto my new computer. I had a problem in the middle of transferring my music and only a fourth transferred before I installed itunes. I finally finished moving the rest of the music but cant get itunes to import by pointing to the main itunes music folder. when I choose to import.. it makes me go all the way to a song folder with individual music files before it allows me to impoert. Is there any way for itunes to SEARCH for new files???
Seems like such a simple thing to do but it isnt so far.
I am beginning to hate itunes. If it were not for the $300 in downloaded itunes purchased music, I would change to Windows media player.
    Can anyone please help?
I have already uninstalled itunes and reinstalled... didnt help. even my playlist I had created were still there.

another note... Itunes imported all of the first songs.. about 4 gigs into the new library. This was before I realized that all of the music did not move over to the new computer. I had A - H or something like that moved. Is there any way to make itunes search for new music?

  • My computer recently crashed.  I had everything on an externa drive.  I'm trying to reload my music into itunes from my external drive.  I do not have an itunes library document for some reason.  How do I get my library back onto itunes?

I'm trying to figure out how to access my music library from my external drive.  I do not have a media library document and believe that I would have to create one based on the music that is on my external drive.  Can someone help?

If you're running Windows 8.1, this seems to be a common theme, or some variation there of at least. Myself, I can't even back-up on my iPhone 4S which has iOS 7.1.2 and I'm running iTunes 11.3.0.54 and have resorted to purchased the iTunes Match service to ensure that music on my primary desktop PC (which is paired to my iPhone) will be available on both the iPhone and my Windows 8.1 laptop. Regarding backing up of the iPhone, I'm thinking about going to a third party solution until either Apple and/or Microsoft can figure out why Windows 8.1 is having so many problems with the current version of iTunes (as of this writing 11.3.0.54).

  • Can't import music into itunes from a cd

I keep getting an error that the disc is full and i should delete files to make more room. It also recommends that I empty my trash. How can I expand the size of the file so I can import more music. thanks dan

    =Troubleshooting CD ripping issues=
The easiest thing to check is if it is just this CD.  Try another one.  If others work, then it is likely the CD.
Try an alternative ripper such as XLD or Max.  Even though you may not want that as the long-term solution it will at least indicate whether the problem is with iTunes or something else.
If other CDs and rippers do not work, it could be the drive itself, or the part of the computer running the hardware. For the latter some have found a SMC reset to work.

Apple Portables: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411
If you think it is the drive, you can try a cleaning disc (about $10 from a computer store or media store) to get rid of dust.  I haven't had much success with these, though usually I am running some older machine on which I can expect a drive to die after 5 years of use.

  • Can't load music into iTunes from CD

    Gah!!!
How frustrating ! I'm using the latest version of ITunes, WindowsXP.
When I pop in a CD, a window comes up in ITunes asking me if I want to import the music, I select "yes", it shows them in a ITunes window, but the songs aren't imported, really.
I try to use the "Add File to Library" trick just to add a song from the CD, and that doesn't work either.
Why do they make this feature so tough? or am I just having a ITunes software issue?
Sorry for my tone, but this is torking me off a bit.
    Thanks for any suggestions !
    John
Windows XP   Latest version of ITunes

    Hi, John.
... but the songs aren't imported, really.
You may have to explain a bit more clearly just what happens when iTunes is "importing" the music.
For the time being though, can you confirm that Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library is checked in the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > Advanced tab > General sub-tab.

  • Importing various folders of music into iTunes

Hi all. Let me start by saying that I don't own a Windows PC. A friend of mine at work wants to import music into iTunes from folders containing MP3 files, which are already on his computer. The folders (4 of them) contain music from each of his kids. He wants to maintain the music in the respective folders in iTunes (either via smart folders or by some other means), as to not mix and match the music, or have to sit there all day and drag and drop from within iTunes (apparently he has close to 10,000 songs to deal with).
Is there any way to import these various folders into iTunes (Windows) while maintaining their respective locations/ownership? On my Mac, it's pretty simple- I could either drag and drop from the finder into iTunes, or create Spotlight Comments for each collection of songs in each folder, then create smart folders from within iTunes, and load the songs to their respective folders based on the Spotlight Comments. Any suggestions?
He's using the latest iTunes iteration, and Windows XP.
    John

To Import folders into itunes you can go to:
Itunes-->File-->Add Folder to Library. Before you
do this you have to decide if you want one library over
multiple accounts or seperate libraries for each account.

  • Downloading music into ipod nano

Hi, I'm a new apple user.  Can I upload music into iTunes from CDs?

Yes, but not directly. First add the music to library by going to Files > Add to Library, then open the CD folder and make a selection of musics you want to add. Then perform the sync. Make sure the "sync music" in ipod menu is selected before you sync. Cheers!

  • I'm getting this error message: "User not registered for online use" when i'm trying to download music/ track names from a CD into ITunes on my Windows 8 PC.  I'm registered and my itunes account/ appleID are all correct and working.

I'm getting this error message: "User not registered for online use" when i'm trying to download music/ track names from a CD into ITunes on my Windows 8 PC.  I'm registered and my itunes account/ appleID are all correct and working.

The ""not recognized for on-line use". error is associated with the Gracenote service that iTunes uses to look up and retrieve metadata for CDs.  Some users have reported that this error occurs when trying to import from CD, subsequent to upgrading to version 12.  A number of slightly different solutions have been reported (though all of a similar nature).
Try walking through the following steps - before starting you may have to enable hidden files and folders to be viewed - in Windows 7 / Windows Explorer select Organize > Folder and search options, then on the View tab make sure that Show hidden files, folders and drives is selected.  Without this you won't see the AppData folder in C:\Users\username\
    Exit iTunes
In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Delete the following files:
    CD Info.cidb
    com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
    Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
    If this doesn't work:
In iTunes, select Edit > Preferences and make a note (or take a screenshot) of your preferences settings in all relevant tabs
    Exit iTunes
In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Delete the following file:iTunesPrefs.xml
    Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If this second procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1.
    If this one didn't work:
    Exit iTunes
    Check the following folders:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
    C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\iTunes
Delete any copies of the following files:
    CD Info.cidb
    com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
    iTunesPrefs.xml
    Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
Again, if this procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1 of the second procedure. If you're still not able to retrieve CD info:
    Exit iTunes
In Windows, select Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features.  Find the entry for iTunes, right-click and select Repair.
When this process has finished, restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If none of these have worked (and almost everything I've seen suggests you should be OK by this point), you may have an issue with the installation and configuration of iTunes itself.  If you have got this far, see turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for advice on how to remove and replace of all components of iTunes.

  • My iPhone 4 won't let me download apps or sign into iTunes from the app

Everytime I try and download an app I type in my password and nothing happens. If I click it again then it asks for my password again then retupe and have the same problem. I've tried resetting the phone bye holding the two buttons for ten seconds but no joy? Oh and for some reason podcasts have dissapeared from my phone completely?
