Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the charging cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage). If it doesn't reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I've had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every 3-4 hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.

You would have to find that out from where you purchased the insurance. Most insurance policies that are sold for cellular phones have a deductible. Only that insurance carrier can answer those questions for you. Look up the papers that you got when you purchased the insurance.

HT201412 ok i did the new update and now my phone wont even start up! the apple logo comes up then the screen will flash and the phone will shut off. any ideas?

Something in your backup may be corrupt. Try wiping it and setting it up as a new device, then sync your apps, data and media back to it from iTunes. DO NOT resotre from your backup. If the problem is contained in the backup, it will bring it right back again if you restore.

Restart computer, open current iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes reconizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, click Restore button of iTunes.

I just updated my phone last night while I was sleeping and because of the update my reliable fast charging cable stopped working. Guess what happened...my alarm didn't go off because my phone was dead. I have tried 3 different chargers and they don't work. I was dissapointed with the first IOS 7 update and now I'm mad. I have always been an apple supported for 20 years. They need to fix this IOS now or I will never buy another IPhone again. Just reverse these horrible "updates". Every time i connect it to itunes all it says is "There is no SIM card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate." Even thought there is a sim card connected in my phone.

Is the SIM from a supported carrier?
Is the device carrier locked, officially unlocked, or hacked to be unlocked?
Has the SIM been reseated? If not, try that.
Also, basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore. Has any of that been tried?

Did you fail to import them to your computer before restoring?

They are likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup.

you must restore i would put in dfu mode if it isnt asking to restore when you plug it in

I suggest creating a separate AppleID for iCloud for each individual and using the same one for iTunes. By having a separate one for iCloud you can keep your contacts separated, have more iCloud storage (5 gigs each instead of sharing 5 gigs) and each have your own iMessage contact. Otherwise you both will be able to see each others imessages. You can still use the same AppleID for the iTunes Store to share music and app purchases. The iPhone "Settings" has different location for inputting your iCloud and iTunes AppleID.
