Download numbers file not possible

Hi
when I try to load a numbers file from iCloud, I can see the file is beeing prepared but it is not stored anywhere on my mac. Does anyone have the same issue?
I am using:
Mac OS 10.7.2
Numbers '09 2.1 (436)

If you use firefox/chrome/opera/3rd party browser; this can happen for reasons unknown. Just use Safari 5.1.x which is part of Lion.
Downloads will go into your Download folder where all files go from the web.
Edit : The files will not automatically be somewhere in your iwork apps on the Mac - these OS X apps are not having iCloud features at all; only iOS5 iwork.

So the updated Numbers file is being updated on iCloud as both iPads are seeing it, but the Mac is not getting the new version in iCloud Drive.
My first thoughts are does the update show on icloud.com (on the Mac) and is the file showing in the Finder but pending the download.

If you still don't see the latest changes or you see an "in-progress change" icon or the iCloud Drive icon in the notification area (system tray), try to save a new document to the iCloud Drive folder. Then check the iCloud Drive folder to see if the changes appear.

Downloaded MP3 files not visible in playlist. I can find them by going through my desktop Start button and typing in the name of the file and clicking on it, then iTunes opens and plays it but I still can't see it in the playlist.

I have downloaded several files from a radio stations archives. They download as MPEG Audio Layer 3 files. When I go to the playlist that they are supposedly in I can not see them. But if I click Start on my desktop and type in the file names then iTunes opens and takes me to the playlist (where you see no list) and begins playing. Any idea how I can get the list to show?

Why do my numbers files not email properly?

Disclaimer: I'm fairly computer savvy and have a good amount of experience in using Numbers (mostly Numbers'09).
I've recently encountered a new problem when emailing numbers (.numbers) files.
They are not coming through correctly.
This may be a "new" issue with the recent upgrade from Numbers'09 but I'm not sure since I have not had the need to send a numbers doc from one person/computer to another since the update to the new version of Numbers.
Here's what happens:
The file sends with no problem. I'm able to receive the file with no problem.
I CANNOT OPEN the numbers document.
When i receive the document it is not coming in the full size. For example: A document that is actually 324K in size is only being received as 8K.
- I am unable to preview the document.
- It appears to have no data
In an attempt to self-solve the problem - I saved the file that I'm attempting to send as a "Numbers 09" version. I was able to send and open this successfully.
The computer that I'm on/sending to/opening in, is running the current version and the SAME version of numbers as the other computer (version 3.2).
I'm quite confused and have not been able to find a solution on my own.
If anyone has run into this, has an idea or has a solution it would be HUGELY appreciated!

I don't really want to switch my method of filing simply for sharing purposes.
Perhaps a solution for now could be to revert a document to Numbers '09 before emailing?
When Numbers 3.0 was released in November 2013, many people were stunned that a so-called upgrade had lost so many features. But slowly (through this forum working together) it became clear that Apple had provided several safety-nets.
- Numbers 3 did not replace Numbers '09 on any computer. Numbers '09 was moved to a folder named iWork '09 inside the Applications folder. It still works on OS X Mavericks just as it always did on previous versions of OS X.
Numbers 3 did not replace the icon on the Dock. That icon continues to point to Numbers '09.

- Documents and templates created in Numbers '09 will carry many of the "lost" features into Numbers 3.
- A document "stolen" by Numbers 3 can not be opened in Numbers '09. Numbers 3 has Menu > File > Export To > Numbers '09... to revert that document. However, reverting a document created in Numbers 3 will not magically install lost Numbers '09 features. They are gone (for now).
- Numbers '09 and Numbers 3 run happily together at the same time. Just be sure which version you use when opening a document. Use Menu > File > Open or Menu > File > Open Recent.
With each update (Numbers 3.0 to 3.01, 3.1 and now 3.2) many features have been restored. They may now live under a different menu, button, or Inspector (Format Panel).

Download Open Office - Not possible with Windows 8?

I tried to download free Open office but the computer said no to this, it is not possible in Windows 8. Is there any other free Word and Excel I can download? I don´t need every app in MS Office, only Word and Excel.
Also - when I tried to open a .doc saved document in Wordpad, I didn´t succed. Wordpad only showed a lot of strange signes and not the text. How can I open my word documents in Wordpad?

Have you tried to copy and paste ? Wordpad won't/can't keep all Word formats.

It first looked like an error on download-site or whatever... but it I think it's a local system error.
solution:
1. download and install Creative Cloud App > only in WINDOWS SAFE MODE (otherwise error 50)
2. installation APP / Photoshop etc. > only in normal started system (otherwise installation fail on third party application etc.)
Now it's running - cool!

How do I download complete file, not just installer?

I am helping my Mom do taxes, using TurboTax. Her PC is older (XP), without internet. The old version of Adobe Reader is not compatible with TurboTax, so I need newer version to print tax pages. I want to download complete Reader file, take to her, and install on her PC. However cannot find way to download complete file, only the install file. That won't work since she is not connected to internet.

Dock "download" icon (file) not working

My download icon (file) on the dock dose nothing when pressed? And when I right click it and "engage" *open download* it gives me a question mark. My downloaded files are there through the finder and when I download all seems to be OK. So what could be the problem? All suggestions, advice and comments are welcomed; thank you in advance for any feedback.

drag the downloads icon off the dock. now select the downloads folder in finder and drag it to the dock. this will recreate the downloads stack and hopefully fix the problem with it.

Imbedded link to downloadable .PDF file not working in Safari

Two questions:
I imbedded a text link that is supposed to download a .PDF file from my iDisk. However, when I click the text link from my Safari browser I get this error message:
"“A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?”
When I retry by pasting my iWeb published page into Mozilla, the linked file downloads quickly with no problem. However, when I paste it into Internet Explorer's browser, it takes about 4 minutes to download!
Second question: I can't seem to link an image that I inserted on a "My Photos" template page. There is no way to select the image--when I do, it just shows the "blue box" around the image but it doesn't actually select the image itself so I can link it.
I was able to link images in my .Mac pages so I don't know why I can't on iWeb.

This is correct, you cannot make the image holders hyperlinks. The solution is to put a Shape over the top of the image that you want to be a link, then Opn Inspector, Graphic Link and make the Opacity 1%, no more no less. Then make this shape a link. Beware that this image will still display in a slideshow and if you insert more images and it moves, the shape will not move with it.
You may also want to click on the shape and then go Arrange > Bring to Front.

Why do certain Pages and Numbers files not appear in All My Files

I don't know if this is associated with Yosemite or not. But some time ago, I noticed files I use a lot no longer show up in All My Files in Finder. Whenever I want to open them I have to find them in Finder because they are no longer showing up as a recent file.
Any ideas why? I can't find any settings that seem to influence this.

Recent builds of iTunes seem to have an occasional problem where the main music section doesn't always list all the music that has been added to the library. Create a smart playlist with the name of one of the albums and you should find that the media is actually present. Often adding some more media seems to fix things. Downloading the iTunes Free Single of the Week has a good success rate.
Alternatively you could try closing iTunes, then removing the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder and restarting. This will cause iTunes to run a consistency check on the database which should sort out any anomalies.
BTW I had a clue from another thread that the "missing" tracks might be listed in the Unknown Artist/Unknown Album area at the bottom of the listings. Would you mind taking a look to see if you see the same?

Downloaded WMV files not showing video

When receive an email with a .wmv file, it appears to download correctly. When I attempt to play the file, the normal controls appear at the bottom...but I get no video, only a black screen. I can hear the audio playing, and it shows the meter below with the time remaining and time elapsed for the video. Does anyone know the fix so I can see the video?

WMV files will not play on a Blackberry (different format). You'll have to download to your PC, convert to another method (AVI, MP4) and then upload to your Blackberry.

Downloaded podcast files not moved to recycle bin when deleted.

I have iTunes running on two computers (home and work) both running Windows XP SP2. On my work computer, of which I am an administrator, when I right click on a downloaded podcast and select "Clear", I get a prompt asking me about moving the file to the recycle bin or keeping the files. Every time I see this, I select "Move to recycle bin" but nothing happens. There's a slight pause, like iTunes is trying to move the file, but the files are never moved. The entry in my podcast list is removed but if I go to the iTunes Music \ podcast folder, there they are.
This does not happen on my computer at home. The files are actually deteled on that computer. What am I doing wrong???

I had just deleted to Recycle Bin a whole bunch of podcast this morning, and after I read your post, I checked my PC.
It deleted about 30 and left 3.
Looks buggy to me!

Downloaded Zip files not valid??

I have just downloaded 8.1.6 documentation libraries and find that the zipped files are being reported as being bad or not a valid archive. Perhaps someone from Oracle might get around to providing feedback when they have finally sobered up after xmas.

Its working in Opera, Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox. But not working in IE. However, in my organisation, only IE is used. Therefore its paramount that it works in IE. Pls help me.

          The problem is as follows:
          The name of the jpf that forwards the requet to the jsp is DownloadPDFController.jsp and the url in IE comes as http://localhost:8053/downloads/DownloadPDFController.jpf
          Now, when this jpf runs and the control comes to the jsp, the pop-up box comes with three options Open, Save and Cancel. But the name of the file to be saved is not the PDF file but the jpf file that is displaying the file.
          This means that what actually is happening is that , the pop download box is coming with the name DownloadPDFController.jpf. I cant understand why its trying to save the JPF.
          The funny bit is that this happens only in IE and not in any other browser.
