Download Oracle 10g Release 2 for Solaris doesn't work

Hi,
I think the file to download Oracle 10g Release 2 for Solaris Sparc 64 has incorrect format.
After download I try to do as you suggest:
guzip file
But the result is:
gunzip: 10gr2_db_sol.cpio.gz: invalid compressed data--format violated
Could you check this

    Been trying to install oracle 10g grid for sun sparc solaris machines. Didnt first downloaded the complete files at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oem/htdocs/solsoft.html , while using the gunzip command to decompress it, it gave me errors!
    Then did downloaded the individuals files and while uncompressing it this time using unzip command, I had errors again. just wanted to ask if some one had this kinda errors.

    Just ensure you transfer (FTP) the file to Solaris from your Windows as Binary.

    The only version supported and available at the moment is 10gR2.
    Please see {thread:id=1043805} for more details. Any particular details why you specifically want to download 10gR1?

    I downloaded the 10g OEM for Solaris and put the gz file on the server. When I did a gunzip to the file I got a cpio extension. What are the instructions to load the file onto the server?

    there are plenty of links. Which should I use to download Oracle 10g Database Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0). I require the one for Linux ES 4, AMD Sempron processor. There are links for Oracle Companion, Oracle Client, Cluster & Gateway. In fact, I have no idea of these softwares... Suggestions may be of great help.

    i have downloaded a oracle 10g from oracle website, but i found that it can only be used for 30days, i am just a student, i just want to learn it. does anyone know what will happened after 30 days? how long can i use? what is the technical difference of downloaded version and retailed version? any limitation?

    Regariding the internal constitution of the software there is not any difference and what you said is true. The agreement of Oracle is that you can test the software during 30 days and after if you want to follow using you have to buy it.

  • 2.2 GPIB driver for Solaris doesn't work with Sol. 2.3 tester

    Upgraded to 2.2 GPIB driver to fix issue of driver being lost on Sun Ultra60's at shutdown and reboot. The driver works fine with 10 of the 11 tester platforms we use. This tester is a Genesis III running Solaris 2.3. The program will run successfully, but when shutdown and re-started, the drivers are not there and must be re-installed. What to do? Thanks.

    Thanks for the suggestion to check privileges, but that's the problem--the driver is not present to have any privileges to check. On reboot, there are only links (all owned by root with 777 perm.) at /dev which lead to non-existent directories.
    #/dev> ls -l gpib*
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 43 Apr 18 09:50 gpib -> ../devices/pci@1f,4000/NATI,pci-gpib@2:gpib

    If you try to use these links to go to these dirs, there're not there. Also, ibconf shows no gpib devices loaded.
    Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
